Shower Location Staff
Very basic old room at a high price The food!
Pretty good, typical fried breakfast
Ssh this place is good Only one thing some of the rooms have lots if stairs to get too its a lovely hotel best position too Fantastic breakfast
Nothing
The location is very close to the beach, staff was very welcoming and helpful, good value for money.
Location
My eye were sore and my skin was very itchy when I came out of the swimming pool
The staff are super friendly and helpful, the hotel is a stones throw from the sea and they run regular evening events which are great fun. We had a blast at the family friendly casino night on Friday.
Location, breakfast. Staff friendly
The tiny lift
The breakfast only.
Room was too small for 3 of us. It was very very hot. No fans provided.
Location
The property is described as a hotel. Only 1 tiny soap was provided no other toiletries available in bathroom. The hand towels smelled like they had not been used for years and musky. The top bunk bed had springs poking through the mattress. My granddaughter could not sleep in it. The base of the double bed was not joined together and kept sliding apart the mattress on the double bed was rock hard and the pillows were very uncomfortable. The breakfast was very minimal and the tea and coffee at breakfast and in the room was awful. If I can think of anything positive to say it would be that the staff were very friendly and pleasant.
Great experience. Best part was the sunrise from our balcony. Beachfront.
Indoor pool didn't open till 10am and closed 6:30pm which was too late in the morning and too early in the evening for tourist coming with kids
Ospitalità , location. Un tuffo nel passato, struttura datata.
Le stanze si singole necessitano una ristrutturazione
Absolutely worse
Everything worse
Central location near to beach. Breakfast was good and staff were friendly and helpful.Room was clean and comfortable.
The room was by the lift so the noise of the lift was quite loud.
Great location with everything in walking distance. As many have mentioned it could do with updating, however i felt was comfortable and very clean. Great that there was bar (good prices too!!) and plenty of seating.Breakfast was really good and well organised, staff were really attentive-a special mention to bar/breakfast staff who were really friendly and helpful and guests seemed to be very happy. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and would certainly stay again-it was great to see a range of age groups there, thank you Royal Pier for a lovely stay.
No parking was the only negative, but its like that in Sandown im afraid. Would be good to have the option of an earlier check in (i know there is a 2pm option you can pay for) especially for people who arrive early, although i understand it maybe difficult given the amount of rooms.
Staff were lovely. Amazing view and location. Great to have bar and entertainment in the evening.
Breakfast was not the best. Unimpressed with having to share a table with a completely unconnected family of six. You should always have your own table in a hotel. Didn't like the wooden teaspoons in our room. Also, we placed do not disturb sign in our room to prevent staff having to unnecessarily clean. Contractors (or staff) knocked to come in (and probably returned whilst we were out).
Nice and close to the beach
No microwave available for food heating
Great location. I got an upgraded view room. Room had a wonderful view. Some updates on the room could be welcomed but overall it was nice. I m not sure on the breakfast, wasn't great. Lovely people and lovely place. Intriguing lift Wifi in public areas only. I d return personally x
our waiter at breakfast was helpful as were one or two of the other staff members. breakfast was reasonable and well organised.
some of the front of house staff were rude and very far from accommodating despite being a group of 10 (5 rooms for four nights). we did not feel welcome nor like we were welcome back. I would not recommend the hotel given the rudeness of the staff. on our last day we were told having just entered the pool that there was a pool party at 11. no one explained this to us when we had jut entered the pool. we left the hotel at 1pm and no pool party had started....Isle of wight is amazing. don't let this hotel ruin your stay.
Good
Friendly staff nice room great location
Could have been more choice on breakfast fruit / yoghurt maybe paistrys
Nothing
We did not have any electricity in our room for the whole stay and when we asked to be moved or get help to fix it they said there is nothing we can do.
Excellent location very close to the esplanade , helpful staff
So close to the beach and food joints plus facilities and bars
Nothing
Friendly staff and great location

L'emplacement Le personnel très serviable Le bal avec l'orchestre ambiance très sympa
Pas de wifi dans les chambres
It is at the end of the pier only a few metres from the beach. The check-in and breakfast staff were charming. We did not use the pool so cannot comment on that.
For the same price as the Premier Inn 30m away you get a small room on a noisy street. The TV is about A3 size. They had ‘run out’ of fans. There was no hairdryer. It was not clean. There is loud live music every night until 11pm. Breakfast is served only between 0830-0930, the menu is limited and they only serve instant coffee. The carpets and decor are decades old. The Travelodge in Ryde was less than half the price, cleaner, had the fan on prior to our arrival and was more comfortable.
Not a lot
No atmosphere at all seemed to much trouble to ask anything
Although a very old seaside hotel, Very clean, all paintwork crisp and fresh. Nice helpful staff. Breakfast super efficient with table service. Not the sort of place I'd normally stay as probably aimed at older people on holiday, but no complaints from me.
I liked everything about my visit
Good vibes with live music. Good location right by the pier
Very small bathroom, sink in the actual bedroom. Small television in the room. Loud noises in the morning. Very confusing layout.
Very friendly staf, we felt welcome from the moment we arrived. The location is amazing, so close to the sea. We loved the bar area, where they showed the England football match. It was great to enjoy the game without having to go anywhere else. The beds were very comfortable and had good-quality mattresses, which was especially important for my mum. I hope I’ll be able to book another stay there sometime, perhaps with a sea-view room next time.
Staff were really really helpful Also liked that you could have dinner (at a fixed time, and had to be preordered) Outside area. Entertainment in the evening. Good for the price.
Room could have been cleaner - dust in some areas But housekeeping daily was a bonus
location room views friendliness location
Very clean and comfortable room, quiet
It was a very hot night and there weren’t enough fans
Staff and location.
The bathroom was tiny. But clean.
We only came for the pool and bar and both were not open
Location was okay
It was old and staff were just testing me like a stranger ,no fridge in the room and I couldn’t use the swimming pool as they said no solo swimming,it was not a very nice experience
Very bad communication nothing respectful
Checking out
The single "room". Pokey and depressing Brick wall pattern wallpaper???? The even more depressing" view" from the window ~ back walls and flat roof The noise from the bar, so loud I had to turn the tv volume up and up The noise from the ~ very unreliable - lift right next to my room door
Room had balcony over looking the ocean
Breakfast time was only a one hour slot
Clean, tidy, good location, vintage charm
Slightly dated in areas
Very welcoming and amiable
No wifi on 2nd floor (minor issue)
It was clean
No wifi
The breakfast was ok on the sat & Sun / The location good with a nice swimming pool
The shower was basically not even fit to wash my hair … I didn’t have a proper shower during my stay just a strip wash at the corner sink by my bed ! The issue was reported at reception and witnessed by the cleaner who was also going to report and nothing done throughout my stay
The location was good
Most facilities were outdated. The property has so much potential though
Its right on the seafront facing sandown beach. Your literally seconds from the beach and pier. Easy to just walk across the road and you're there. About 1-2 minutes walk to the shops, cafes, restaurants, bars and attraction all within a few minutes walk. They have an indoor swimming pool.
The breakfast was disappointing. I had noted in advance about dietary intolerances and clearly listed what could not be eaten. I also called the hotel in advance prior to arrival and was assured that a chef would discuss suitable options with us, but this didn't happen. On the first day at breakfast the omelette provided were very oily, the next day burnt and unsuitable to eat had to send it back. As a result, we had to go to a cafe for breakfast Thursday and Friday, where the chefs took the time to speak directly with us about dietary requirements.
???????
misdescribed
Very friendly staff / the shower was very easy to use.
The breakfast was perhaps a little bit disappointing. There were three options from which you had to choose but as I only stayed over there for one night, I only got to try one of the choice (English breakfast).
Location
Приветливый персонал. Отличное расположение отеля. Вечером в субботу в баре была живая музыка
The Hotel itself was in a lovely location and the staff were fantastic
I found for the price of the room it was not worth it. Shower was too high, no soap dish and water didn't run out of the shower properly. There was no cold water available in the wash basin. I know I didn't go on holiday to watch tv but trying to block out the noise from outside & loud music inside I tried the tv which wasn't working properly.
- Friendly staff. - Comfortable lounge and bar area. - Swimming pool - Great location for the beach - Bus stop right around the corner
- Breakfast is served strictly at 8.30am. Unusual format as guests all eat at exactly the same time. Not convenient. Also limited choice on the breakfast menu. Small portions. - Shower room was tiny and had mould on the shower unit. Very old. - TV in the room very small. -Spa pool jacuzzi not working. Appears it won't be reinstated anytime soon so this option should be updated. - Only 1 small soap offered in the room. Could offer a more luxurious shower gel.
À Lovely old fashioned hotel Great friendly service Fantastic location
Rooms a bit dated but clean and comfortable Beautiful towels Noisy lift though
Close to the beach
It was so noisy , loud drunken behaviour from the hotel bar below the room and from the pub opposite the hotel until late at night. Impossible to sleep. Don't opt for a room with a sea view they are too noisy.
Good location for beach and town centre although man y shops were closed down ..and there were street people about on the high street the swimming pool was ok , a hand rail by the steps would have been helpful specially for children and those more mature on there years or not good on there feet ..
The lift is tiny and c old and dangerous ,Lord knows how it passes a safety inspection every year ,the room layout Is a monkey puzzle seemingly randomly scattered about the hotel .. I found a locked fire exit whilst trying to find room .. sadly the spa hot tub was not working ,it looked old and on need of a replacement .. my room was ok bex a little too low ,bathroom was the smallest bathroom ever although there was a separate one down the corridor as like on the old days when rooms didn't have wn suites ... Shower was small and looked elderly and was a mira one known to be useless ... I was not offered breakfast or evening meals even for extra payment .. the receptionist on Monday morning told me off daring to use one of the pens for sale to write out 3 numbers on my railway travel pass ! Also Tea bags in the room were unwrapped should be kept wrapped to keep them fresh and not open to being covered germs from sneezes etc.
I had a pleasant one-night stay at the Royal Pier in Sandown. The room was clean, comfortable, and had a lovely balcony with a really nice sea view, which was definitely one of the highlights of the stay 🌊. The bed was comfortable and the overall atmosphere felt calm and relaxing. The décor throughout the hotel was a little dated and could probably benefit from some modernisation, but everything was well maintained and clean. The location was excellent, very close to the seafront, pier, shops, and local attractions, making it convenient for exploring the area. Overall, it was a good stay for the price and I would stay again, especially for the views and location.
The breakfast selection was quite limited and felt a little underwhelming compared to the rest of the stay. There was not a huge amount of choice available, and during busier times items seemed to run out fairly quickly. A wider variety of hot and continental options would definitely improve the experience for guests staying longer than one night. I also found there was very little information or explanation provided regarding the pool and leisure facilities. It was unclear where certain facilities were located, what times they were available, or whether there were any specific rules or booking requirements. Some clearer communication at check-in or information available in the room would have made the experience feel much smoother and more welcoming.
Room was clean, quiet and bed comfortable.
No Wifi in the room>amazing in 2026. Swimming pool not open before 7am or after 18:00 so no good whatsoever to anyone who has come to the island to work. Very disappointing. Odd arrangement where people travelling alone can't just sit anywhere in the restaurant. So on the whole, on my, emergency list not my priority list. Shame really, because the staff were really friendly and helpful.
Ubicación, atención, instalaciones
No hay parqueadero, no hay wifi, los colchones de las camas super incomodos y muy viejos, se les sentian los resortes.
Like going back in time to a much better time than it is now
Location
Dated beyond what I imagined
The front-of-house staff were really lovely, polite and engaging.
The room was quite dated. The only actual issue was that the window didn’t shut properly and someone smoking outside made the entire room smell which was really unpleasant.
Great pool Seafront location
The swimming pool and overall stay was good
Bed was a bit uncomfortable and I felt backache in the morning
Nice and tidy room. Calm environment.
Providing a small fridge and microwave can make it even better
Spotlessly clean, friendly staff.
Bed very small, shower was extremely slow. Unfortunately our room was above a very noisy bar!
