Very central in Fort Kochi. Able to walk to kathakali dance show, fishing nets, ferry, etc. Many tuk tuk tours to see Jew Town, Mattancherry and old hostorical buildings and sites.

Quite basic but value for money

Property is not comfortable for a stay more than 2 days..not even a spoon or a glass available..one towel provided for whole stay unless asked for new one.only one bedsheet provides for whole stay. .no iron provided not even on request..poor facilities..lots of mosquitoes..please carry spray..very poor facilities in the property itself..

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We were two girls traveling to Kochi and honestly, we were a little worried about how the stay would be and whether the area would feel safe. But the moment we checked into Bastian Homestay, we felt completely relieved. The room was clean and comfortable, and the surroundings felt very safe and peaceful. Everything was well maintained and we had a really pleasant stay. One of the best things is the location — Princess Street, Fort Kochi Beach, Chinese Fishing Nets, cafes, and many other places are within walkable distance, which made exploring so easy. We absolutely loved our stay here and would definitely recommend it, especially for solo women travelers or girls traveling together. Thank you 🌻

They should have given double bed rather than two single beds

It was a comfortable and convenient stay in kochi. Breakfast was available if desired. Ac, fan and wifi worked well. Location was good and walking distance from town and nearby restaurants. Gini helped us to book the kathakali show which we really enjoyed!

It was a lovely stay, enjoyed most everything! A few small things only - our hosts were very accommodating, but not particularly warm and welcoming. We were given half rolls of toilet paper instead of full rolls. But overall it was lovely!

The breakfast was excellent especially the local breakfast. I loved the way the coffee was served hot in the flask and you poured more into the cup and it is always hot. Great Idea never seen it anywhere in all my travels !

The toilets needs to be modern and that is why I gave not a good score on the facilities and comfort. Overseas travelers will pay more with no problem for a modern toilet. Everything else was good except for the toilets.

Gini y Bastian son encantadores nos recomendaron lugar para comer,nos consiguieron entradas para espectaculos kathakali,preguntamos por servicio de lavanderia y fue ideal,rapido y a buen precio, los desayunos tanto continental como Kerala estan buenisimos, la habitación y el baño estan muy limpios,la ubicación es perfecta para llegar andando a los luagres de mayor interes, sin duda recomendadisimo,volveria sin dudarlo nos sentimos muy agusto.

On day of arrival they have cancelled my room saying that they contacted me though mail which I even don't have habit of checking in the era of whatsapp and calls they would have called me via phone they didn't got any response 😞

Lovely family stay, comfortable and near main sightseeing places. They offer backwater trips, massage service, transport etc. Highly recommended

Atmosphäre war nicht wie erwartet, wir hatten immer das Gefühl, dass wir stören, wenn wir etwas fragen wollten. Hatten keinen Kontakt mit anderen Gästen. Veganes Frühstück war nicht möglich.

A delicious breakfast (Indian or continental, your choice) at a very reasonable price. The guesthouse is run by a lovely family (it was a pleasure to meet you). My room was in the building opposite, so a separate entrance provided complete privacy. The room was basic but very clean and it had everything I expected: unlimited hot water in the shower, clean linens, a comfortable bed, a fan, and efficient air conditioning. The location is in the center of Kochi (all attractions are within walking distance), yet the guesthouse is located in a quiet neighborhood of beautiful houses – you don't hear the hustle and bustle of the streets, and instead, the neighborhood is quiet and peaceful, with friendly people around.

There was nothing to dislike. Even in Europe sometimes I didn't have such a great place to stay

The hosts are very accomodating to the needs of the guests. They provided me with cold water whenever I needed it and also 1 day heated food that I packed the previous night for breakfast. They were also very accomodating about what time you can return home. I unfortunately only had breakfast 1 day but it was awesome.

La chambre est très bien placée. Le quartier est calme. A notre demande, les propriétaires ont organisé notre arrivée et départ. Le petit déjeuner est très bon. Je recommande vivement cet établissement.

Très bon rapport qualité-prix avec un emplacement de qualité en plein centre de Fort Cochin. Très bon accueil de la part des propriétaires. Ils nous ont donné des informations fiables et nous ont réservé des activités à un prix très corrects. Nos premiers jours en Inde se sont très bien passés. Très bon petit déjeuner et chambre bien climatisée.

Accueil très chaleureux de la part de Bastian, Winnie et Didita leur fille. La guest house est très bien placée par rapport aux lieux à visiter à Fort Kochi. Mention spéciale pour le petit déjeuner. Nous avons testé les deux formules (continentale et locale) et nous avons été ravis à deux reprises. Les hôtes nous ont fortement aidés pour réserver des bus et autres questions. La chambre était super confortable ! Nous recommandons vivement. Merci encore pour ce beau séjour :)

Friendly and very helpful hosts. Allowed late check-in, booked backwaters tour and Kathakali show tickets through them also which was very good. And helped sort out my sim card which I very much appreciated. Lovely people, highly recommend.

I stayed with my family here for 2 nights. The rooms are very clean and spacious. It has a dining area just outside the room where you can sit and enjoy your meals comfortably. The owner of this place is very kind and sweet. We had requested many items like plates, bowls, hot water etc... which he gave to us happily. At last moment we needed a bag to carry back goods in flight, for which he quickly helped me to shop. Highly recommend this place for stay.

夫婦がとても優しかった！ ここを通じて予約したカタカリダンスとバックウォーターツアーも相場通り（むしろ安い）で、とても楽しめた。おしゃれで高品質な服屋さんも素敵なマダムが教えてくれた。朝ごはんも美味しくて、外で蚊が嫌だと騒いでたらフロントで食べさせてもくれた😭🫶 値段が安いので心配していたが、部屋はピカピカに掃除されてたし、大きいお水も2本もらえた。冷えたお水も買える。 クーラーなしの部屋を予約してたことに気づいたが、課金すれば使えた。9月のケララは湿気がすごく、エアコンなしだと寝れなかった。

So clean! This properly was great and the hosts have a lot of options to help with any activities.. shows, massage, taxi, and more. There was a little balcony with the room and washing service too.

Für mich der perfekte Homestay, um in Kochi anzukommen. Familie ist super freundlich und immer hilfsbereit. Auf Anfrage bekommt man alles: Backwaters (günstig und nicht ganz so kommerziel), Geldwechsel, Tipps, Zugbuchen, usw! Das ganze ohne aufdringlich zu sein. Haben mich super aufgenommen gefühlt. Frühstück war exzellent! Lage top! Etwas abseits der Straßen, somit sehr ruhig und trotzdem alles sehr gut zu Fuß zu erreichen

La verdad es que los anfitriones se portaron súper bien. Es mi primera vez en India y estaba un poco nervioso por como iba a ser todo. Todo fue muy bien. La habitación tenía ventilador potente, malla antimosquitos y baño privado. Las opciones del desayuno eran kerala y continental y he de decir que me gustó mas el de kerala. A la hora de irme me ayudaron a escoger el bus correcto hacia mi próximo destino. Fue una gran ayuda. Lo mejor fueron los anfitriones y la ubicación. Practicamente esta a 10 minutos de todo. De la estación de bus y ferri, de las calles principales y de restaurantes y sitios de ocio. Un 10.

The room was spacious, spotless, and very comfortable, making my stay feel just like home. What I appreciated most was how safe and secure the place felt throughout my stay. It’s the perfect spot for anyone looking for comfort, cleanliness, and genuine hospitality. I would highly recommend Bastian Homestay to anyone visiting the area and will definitely be coming back again soon!

Nel cuore di fort Kochi, in un quartiere davvero ben curato, questa Homestay è davvero accogliente e pulita. Lo staff molto gentile, tramite loro abbiamo prenotato i biglietti per vedere la danza Kathakali. Provate la colazione tipica, per il prezzo ne vale davvero la pena!

We traveled from Kathmandu to Kerala, and this was our first place to stay in Kochi. The property is run by a lovely couple who are incredibly sweet and polite. I feel bad for forgetting the name of the man, but I’ll never forget his kind gesture he gave us Nepali currency because someone had asked him to hand it over to a Nepali visitor. That moment truly reflected the humility and kindness of the people here. The breakfast was absolutely delicious, and the place made us feel completely at home. Thank you for everything❤️🙇‍♂️

Bastian et sa famille sont incroyablement gentil. Nous sommes arrivés en train à 6h30 du matin et après une nuit agitée, ils nous ont accueilli pour un check-in très matinal sans problème. Ils nous ont conseillé toutes les meilleures adresses et nous ont même réservé des tickets pour un spectacle de katachali. Nous avons pu laisser nos bagages sur leur surveillance après notre check-out et ils nous ont même, finalement, trouvé un tuk-tuk à prix défiant toute concurrence pour rejoindre Allepey. Ils ont vraiment tout fait pour rendre notre séjour le plus agréable possible sans surcroît et je les en remercie beaucoup.

The property is located in a nice area, making it a good starting point to explore Kochi Fort. The staff was very kind and helpful, and the breakfast was very good.

Our bathroom didn’t look like in the photos of our room. Even though we did have hot water, it was through another lower tap and it had to be poured into a bucket first for showering. On the photos it looked like a normal shower with a possibility to adjust the water. At first I thought they gave us the wrong room, but when I asked, they said its not a mistake and that they just specified on the Booking page that the hot water is available, nothing else. I would prefer to know this before, as the photos can be misleading. There was no hairdryer.

I stayed at Bastian Homestay for one week and had a truly great experience. Ginni and Bastian were wonderful hosts – very kind, helpful, and always available when I needed assistance. They helped me organize tours and taxis with reliable local contacts, which made planning my activities very easy and smooth. My room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, just what I needed to relax. I especially enjoyed the Kerala-style breakfast, which was different every day and always super tasty – definitely one of the highlights of my stay. The whole experience was absolutely worth the money – great value for the service and hospitality I received. Thank you again – I’d happily stay here again next time!
