Evangeline's Tower Bed & Breakfast

Owners were great!

He put a lot of effort into making what we would like and brought coffee up to us first thing in the morning.

We had our breakfast freshly cooked for us by Normand each morning. He was a lovely host. The whole house is lovingly presented in Victorian elegance. A great end to our Canadian adventure

Welcoming, accommodating host, vintage vibe, conveniently located. Yummy breakfast!

A very interesting house, especially if you like antiques. It was very clean and the breakfast was delicious! Highly recommend!

Older house filled with antiques. Decor was nice. Stairway was difficult, especially for older adults but host offered assistance taking our luggage to our upstairs room. Breakfast was good. Outside needed to be painted.

it is a very old house, and at first you might be a bit skepical, but it is filled with antiques, rooms are clean and breakfast was very good...p

The owner, Monica, was absolutely the best hostess you could ask for. She went over and beyond to help us and get us setyled in.

Jamie & Monica are simply the best - as were the breakfasts.

very gracious andgood

Comfortable and nice Victorian home. Easy to find. Excellent hosts. I highly recommend for a pleasant stay.

Historic property full of antique furniture and beautiful rooms . Very comfortable and run by fantastic hosts. A great Nova Scotia small coastal town experience. Close to one of the best seaport restaurants.

This is a lovely property with so much story and heart to it. We were welcomed from the moment we drove into the driveway. They made effort to give us an ice box to keep our food cool. The room was clean, comfortable and with lots of character. We had a lovely bed, desk, chairs and rocking chair by the window. It was lovely. There was also access to a patio upstairs which was so nice in the evenings. The owners gave us so many great ideas of things to do in the area. And breakfast was incredible. We’ve never had people really consider our dietary requirements and still provide such a delicious breakfast …..and far from just the usual type of breakfasts. This was really special. My son is still talking about the eggs Benedict and the delicious fruit on pancakes. We so appreciated their care and consideration and recommend staying here in a heartbeat.

The room was quiet and comfortable- and the hosts were very pleasant. My biggest negative was the room was warm despite a ceiling fan and a portable fan. I’m used to having ac on warm nights to aid with sleep, but it’s a personal preference.

Beautiful house where a clear effort has been made to furnish with period furniture and even track down a few pieces original to the house. The rooms were comfortable and decorated beautifully. The owners went out of their way to accommodate an allergy. The breakfast was tasty and served on beautiful china. The owners were very knowledgeable about the area and happy to offer information. Would definitely stay here again.

Great owners. Very kind always there to help. Fantastic breakfast. Extremely knowledgeable hosts. Don't change anything!

Excellent and the hosts.

The fact that it was built in 1890 was impressive but it needs a lot of work to restore it to its former glory. The owners have done a lot but so much more needs to be done. Beautiful though.

The host is extremely knowledgeable about the area. He was very helpful in calling in a reservation at a restaurant and made us feel welcome. I can't recommend the place enough. Great deal , great atmosphere, great people.

ordinary

Kind and friendly hosts, comfortable beds and a lovely breakfast

This place was amazing. It's a fancy house turned B&B, from arrival to departure the hostess (Monica) took good care of us. This was part of our summer trip to Quebec, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland and Labrador and of the dozen or so places we stayed at, I slept the best here (in their Gabriel room) all the way until morning. Must be their bed, insulation, and quietness. It is right in town but the town is tiny and dinner options are limited so we did need a car. Breakfast made by the hostess was fantastic. Chatting with her over breakfast about other parts of Nova Scotia, about Evangeline, and Acadia history etc was also lovely. The room is likely upstairs and there is no lift so maybe just be aware of that and ask for help.

We stayed in a very nice location during our one day visit to Parrsboro enroute back to Halifax. The stay was nice but the hosts were even nicer! Super friendly folks. Great breakfasts. Love the homemade cinnamon buns! We would stay again and will tell our friends about it also! Thanks for your hospitality.

norman was great!! hire him back!

Staff was nice, room was fine. AC would have been great - it was warm during the day and we couldn't get the room cooled down enough at night. The only real detractor was the outside of the building, though, which is in real need of painting, etc., so that it reflects what is inside. Does not look appealing from the outside; we were grateful that more care was taken with the interior, which was decorated nicely with antiques and period pieces.

It was a very old home, well kept and love the antiques. Norm was a very good host and very kind. I would highly recommend this place 👌

A fascinating place to stay and convenient to our explorations in the area. Monica cooked us a delicious breakfast and tailored it to our own preferences.

Very clean, breakfast was amazing!

The room was beautiful and comfortable and the breakfast was AMAZING!

Amazing. Bed and breakfast with an amazing home cooked breakfast. Worker there was amazing

The breakfast was fantastic. Lovely people operating this Bed & Breakfast.

Very comfortable room. Breakfast was excellent. We will be sure to stay again when next in the area.

Evangeline's is charming, cozy and welcoming. The beds are fluffy and comfortable. Breakfast is fantastic and the owner tailors it to each guest's dietary requests. We were delighted with our stay.

Wonderful host and terrific breakfast!

Such a beautiful mansion; the bed was very comfortable and I loved the softness of the sheets, blanket and quilt. Breakfast was delicious! Monica went out of her way to make the stay very enjoyable. I felt as if I lived in a unique time in history. The pace of the town is perfect, nice and slow.

Monica, the host is very nice and friendly. My husband and I really enjoyed the breakfast because it was delicious and we could share great moments with others, like a family.

Enjoyed the owners personality and her attention to detail. She was very attentive and a very good cook and baker. Her gf baked goods were wonderful! The Inn was quiet and comfortable and uniquely decorated. She obviously loves what she is doing and it shows!

Monica was an amazing host, provided an incrediable breakfast in a beautiful historical home. She was awesome with communication and went over the top to accommodate us.

A lovely place to stay and an excellent breakfast!

A lovely b&b with cozy rooms, a lovely host and an incredible breakfast. Highly recommend

The owners care and were awesome 👌.

The hosts were wonderful people! They were very accommodating and breakfast was delicious!!!

Owner operators were very welcoming and professional. Breakfast was fantastic. I would recommend this location to my friends and family. Thank You

Beautiful century home with welcoming hosts. The home is authentic with breakfast served on china in the dining room. Awesome !

It was great

We had a wonderful stay at Evangeline’s tower! From the personal greeting and showing to our room, to the amazing breakfast in the morning! Those blueberry rolls were so good! The bed was comfortable and the rooms well appointed. It is also very walkable to downtown parrsboro and places to grab food or drinks. I would definitely recommend this stay to others!

Beautiful classic home. The interior is well appointed with many common areas to sit and relax. The bed is very comfortable and the breakfast is amazing. We would definitely stay there again. Knowing very little about this area, we decided to only one night, but would plan to stsy longer next as there are so many activities to do and places to visit. The host is very engaging and friendly.

A wonderful classicplace.

We had a large room with ensuite. Beautiful old house with a lot of history. It does need a little bit of updating. Breakfast was wonderful as was the host.

Authentic victorian style cottage with all modern facilities. Evangeline suite was so cozy, as the rest of the commun rooms. The baldaquin bed was just enough soft for me to get to a deep overnight sleep. Jamie is such a nice welcoming host and you won’t regret your stay at Evangeline’s tour. Leonard, motorcycle solo trip.

We had a wonderful stay here. The place was charming with many delightful details.very clean and well maintained .Jamie was an excellent host—very welcoming and he prepared the best breakfast ever.

The host was perfect thank you Jamie. The breakfast was delicious the best blueberry cinnamon rolls ,everything was ready for are stay

Amazing breakfast and beautiful rooms! Would absolutely love to return

All the antiques that the owners found to enhance the atmosphere of this historic home. The owners were very friendly and willing to assist with information and things to do in the area. Would go back in an instant.

Property was beautiful and quiet. Host was very friendly and helpful. Best blueberry rolls!

The building is in a poor condition on the outside and in desperate need of a paint job (especially the tower). The entrance way inside is very untidy, windows to the kitchen revealed a very messy/chaotic interior at 4pm (way after breakfast, food seemingly left out all day). The manager (not the owners - who live in Toronto) is not good at appropriate guest interactions. We arrived 10 mins after check-in time, there was a landline phone with a note saying "I stepped outside, call this number". The phone was dead. I used my personal phone to find out the manager was out-of-town. She told us to let ourselves in and told me where the room was and arrived 3 1/2 hrs later. She arrived with a large dog and grand-daughter in tow. She thought it appropriate to let the smelly dog sit on the ground (begging) between my husband and myself at breakfast. She told us all about how little the managers pay her and how much she doesn't like working there(!) . At breakfast we were dining with another couple (also guests) and the manager stood over us the entire meal time talking at us ALL through the meal (20 mins)! It was disappointing as it spoiled breakfast. We had been having enjoyable conversation with the other guests up until that point. She told us how bad the blueberries were, how many sausages she had defrosted yesterday, how many people had died recently. None of these were appropriate guest interactions. Breakfast in peace would have been preferable.

Wonderful, friendly atmosphere. Delicious and ample breakfast.

Patsy's breakfast was amazing! The room was very comfortable - great night stay. Parrsboro is a very quiet town so plan your own good time!

The property is very beautiful and clean, Patsy was a wonderful hostess. It was very quiet and close to all the amenities in town. The homemade breakfast the next morning was delicious. We really enjoyed our stay here and will definitely be back!

We stayed one night and it was comfortable and quiet. Our host, Patsy, was very nice and upbeat. She made us a wonderful breakfast of homemade cinnamon rolls, fruit, and eggs benedict. We enjoyed our stay and would visit again.

Such a lovely step back in time (in a good way). Beautiful antiques and very comfy beds. The highlight was our delightful breakfast. The best we’ve had in a long time. The lady (sorry, can’t remember her name) that checked us in and made our breakfast was a gem!

Patsy was a fabulous hostess! Very helpful with suggestions for the area. Her breakfasts were marvellous! Would love to visit again!

An older home but decorated very nicely. Host was very personable and had nice conversations.

Our host was very nice lady who greeted us. Our room was cute with a canopy bed. Bed was comfortable. Easy walkable location. Breakfast was amazing. Would definitely stay again. Don’t let outside facade of the building fool you.

Lovely old Victorian house. Great breakfast.

This is a unique antique inn with lots of local color. The story of Evangeline is a theme that is echoed in the decor. The host was very friendly and served us a delicious blueberry pancake breakfast. Breakfast was an opportunity to converse with other travelers and feel the warmth of humanity.

Comfortable, quiet and a top drawer breakfast!

This place is steeped in history and exudes a magical ambiance. The homemade breakfast was incredibly fresh and delicious. The bedrooms were immaculately clean. Jamie, our host, is a very pleasant person and was exceptionally accommodating, providing us with numerous recommendations about the area.

Beautiful big house lovingly restored to accommodate guests as a bed and breakfast. Extremely comfortable room and wonderful host! Great location to experience a quiet, restful town that's so close to all the nearby attractions. Can't say enough about the amazing breakfast!

The host was very informative and accommodating. A very warm atmosphere made us feel like home . A terrific breakfast. We will most likely be back for a stay.

After a camping trip went awry due to weather we decided to find somewhere to spend the second night of our trip with our two young children. Our kids clothes had gotten soaked in the rain and the owner was kind enough to dry them for us. He even tried to find us a crib for our youngest. He went above and beyond to try to accommodate us. Our stay also included breakfast which was amazing. Fruit bowls, egg bake and blueberry cinnamon rolls. He scrambled my daughter’s egg separately and prepared a fruit bowl (without the honey drizzle) for my son. My husband has not stopped raving about the amazing cinnamon rolls. All in all it helped turn a bad camping trip into a wonderful family vacation!

Such a sweet spot

James was an excellent host very helpful, and friendly. Breakfast was fantastic.

Cute place

The building was beautiful in it's day I'm sure. It is in need of work, eg paint and other minor repairs. It was untidy, eg some of the curtains were falling off the rods. The tower looked dark and we could only see a single mop handle which was propped against a window.

A lovely old home in need of some updating. Very friendly greeting and scrumptious breakfast!

Sweet little town. Staff was really kind. House is quite old and somewhat run down but everything was very clean!

This old house is just beautiful and the lady running it is a wonder. (Sorry I don't remember her name) Her breakfast was to die for. Homemade cinnamon rolls and baked eggs. And a beautiful fruit parfait. All of this on the eve of a major hurricane. I can't say enough about it. Best breakfast of our trip and we have been on the road for a month.

Very friendly and accommodating staff.

A dump

Furniture in room a bit run down, staff wonderful

This is a fantastic property with a super fantastic lady (Patsy) looking after it.

.

Very unique house from 1890’s, stunning interior. Fantastic host Patti was preparing delicious breakfasts, different every day ( we stayed 5 nights), everything fresh and made home from the scratch, like cinnamon and blueberry rolls, spicy muffins, omelettes, frittatas! We recommend this place and will come back for sure!

Quaint old well-maintained century home with friendly staff and accommodating owner. The customized hot breakfast was an especially nice treat.

Great breakfast

An exceptional B&B, exactly the type one would day dream of quitting one's job and running. A Victorian mansion full of authentic historical character, antique furnishings, and modern comforts. The staff were kind, helpful, and informative. The breakfasts were varied and truly gourmet. We will definitely come back!

We enjoyed the ambiance and the complementary breakfast was delicious

We were very happy with our accommodations. Rooms were very quaint, breakfast was fantastic and the owner was very friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend but only to those that are fine with stairs. Lol

We had a lovely night with a delicious breakfast with the best blueberry cinnamon rolls. The property was very comfortable and elegant. I’m glad we found this special gem on our trip.

The provided breakfast was top notch! Bed was very comfortable. Our check-in was delayed until 5:30 which was a bit of an annoyance since we planned a test before supper and the theatre night we were attending. In the end it all worked to our satisfaction.

The historical decor was really nice. Breakfast was delicious. Host was lovely and had lots of information about the area.

This is a place with a lot of history. Owner was fantastic providing local advice and insights. 5 out of 5!

Lovely, charming B &B. Warm welcoming host, very knowledgeable about the area and activities. Wonderful breakfast. Beautiful area and scenery.

James is a great host as well as a great cook. The house was very interesting and James was extremely informative of the history

Initial reaction when seeing the outside can make you hesitate. Once you get through the doors however you meet Patsy who was lovely and friendly. The old home is very well kept and very clean. Breakfast was terrific both mornings. Comfortable beds. Location is very good. I would happily stay again.

We found this place while looking online for a place to stop for the night. The price was right and the reviews were good so we took a chance... and are we glad we did! The house is AMAZING! As soon as I walked in the door I knew we had made the right choice... and when we got to our room (the Evangeline room) I was in love! Canopy bed... tower room... antique Victorian charm! Our host (and her dog LOL) were super friendly and welcoming and breakfast in the morning was absolutely delicious! She gave us a restaurant recommendation for supper the night we arrived and it was excellent. Should we be in the Parrsboro area again for the night or have friends askingbfor recommendations this will definitely be our first choice!

Ever thing was great, very friendly, helpful and breakfast was delicious, We would definitely stay there again.

Our stay was very nice, Patsy had a fabulous breakfast for us, best we had so far on trip. If we return to this area we would definitely stay again.

Hosts were incredible! Breakfasts we had for two days were outstanding! Jalapeno Corn Muffins, blueberry cinnamon muffins, frittata and egg veg and ham hash fresh fruit, fresh juice 💗. Don't let outside decive you.Clean comfortable great stay in Parrsboro.
