When my boyfriend and I arrived the room and bathroom were not cleaned at all. We complained at the reception and they gave us another room that was a bit better. The breakfast is not worth and the products lacks of quality. It’s not a good restaurant to western people. I don’t recommend this hotel and I felt regretted to trust only on the brand “holiday inn”

We then sorted a few more issues out and moved room and a few concessions offered and staff so lovely Only additional let downs were pool and gym closed since 2024 appeared to be lease busines Not advised in booking or advertising Bed huge and little old cpuld feel springs Body products not great and generic Quite room Smoke stench on ground floor [horrible toilets] Breakfast decent heavy asian fair and vegetarian fine Pastry and bread dire So embrace local fair Tim who worked in here was excellent and an asset to the hotel Close to bus train a fair walk Groceries and bottle shop 10 min walk away Pagoda 35 min walk

Stayed in a deluxe room booked through an agent. Large hotel, big rooms. Each room has tea and coffee making facilities, shampoo, shower gel and conditioner in dispensable bottles attached to the wall, also moisturiser lotion next to sink. Also comes with complimentary tooth brush, tooth paste the usual stuff, slippers and robes, iron and ironing board. Cons: the window in our room did not close properly so could be noisy for others, think it was 1620. Unfortunately the temperature is fixed in the rooms so you cannot switch the aircon on or have it lower and so we kept our windows open. luckily it wasn’t extremely hot and we could bear it but the other room we had with the children needed to request a room fan. Breakfast - was good, varied chinese and Western - would say more catered for Chinese taste but still good! still has fried eggs, bacon and baked beans!! staff are friendly and welcoming. Location is close to a supermarket about 5 mins around the corner, there is also a good bbq restaurant there too, walk about 15 mins more and there are tons of eateries close by. We were about 45 mins from high speed main station and about 1 hour to the airport. Can’t say how close we were to any attraction as we had booked a car and tour guide.

We enjoyed our 3 nights stay at the Holiday Inn Xian Big Goose Pagoda. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The daily breakfast had a variety of western and local cuisine. Hotel staff are friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, one of our 4 room had a choked toilet. The staff did all they can to cleaned up but the issue had not been resolved during our 3 nights stay.

Excelente hotel

Hotel is in a good location just half hour walk from the Big Goose Pagoda. It's about a 45min drive from Xi'an North Train Station. Traffic can make this longer as you have to drive from north straight through the city to the south. On check in the staff didn't seem to speak English so my guide helped me sort my room. I did ask for a quiet room and was put on the 7th floor away from the lifts. I was on a relatively low floor though so there was a lot of street noise, mainly from screaming kids and beeping horns until later in the evening. The floor also absolutely stank of cigarettes, luckily it didn't get into the room I was in or I'd have had to have asked to move. The room was okay, big comfy bed, powerful shower, basic amenities, but in need of a refurb. No idea on the WiFi because it didn't work on my international devices. There was tea and coffee making facilities, iron and ironing board, hair dryer and it looks like they also offer a laundry service. The room doesn't have any USB charger sockets but luckily I had an international adapter with me so not a problem. There was a decent looking fitness centre on the 6th floor but when I tried to use this it was heaving with people, it looked like it was used by a lot of locals. Literally everything was being used so I walked straight out and didn't get to train. I noticed they also have a swimming pool on the basement floor, I didn't go to this but when walking past the hotel outside indefinitely smelt it. Overwhelming smell of clorine. The breakfast was fine, lots of choice both Chinese and Western options. The restaurant staff were very nice although again they had very limited English. My Chinese is non existent though so this is by no means a complaint. All in all a good choice in a great location, it just needs a refurb.

Pleasant hotel situated well for city centre activities. Rooms pleasant and spacious. Food was good with large variety. Used by groups of tourists. Regular ‘holiday Inn’ type hotel. Not outstanding but very acceptable.

One major problem: Internet service was the worst of all hotels.

The outside does not prepare you for the impressive lobby. Staff were friendly and attentive. Breakfast was good. Room was clean. Glass partition from room to bathroom is strange but a modesty curtain is available. Enjoyable stay at this well located hotel.

We stayed 3 nights as part of a tour, it was raining all 3 days, but room in the hotel had an umbrella that we could use. Hotel is in a commercial complex, lobby is very good, Breakfast is very good with lot of variety but with one coffee machine so to get your coffee there is que and takes about 10 to 30 minutes depending on guests. Housekeeping was average forgot towels, coffee, tea had to call. Room small with a glass partiton between the bathroom and room with a curtain. Resataurants in the building are expensive. We ate once in the hotel restaurant it was quite reasobable. To get a good reasonable restaurant have to walk 2 miles left of the hotel when you approach the junction to the right and left there are lots of restaurants. Metro station is quite a walk as well.

Hotel was great Breakfast had a good variety and staff was really helpful the only problem was the location not really a walking area Wish it were closer to shops and restaurants couldn’t do much in the afternoon

직원들이 친절하고 일처리가 빨라 편리함. 로비가 5층에 있어 다소 불편하고 층마다 복도에서 담배냄새가 좀 많이 남. 심지어 묶었던 방은 금연방인데 전 숙박객이 방에서 담배를 폈었는지 들어갔을 때 담배냄새가 좀 심하게 났음.

Decent location. A short 15 minutes walk to Big Goose Pagoda. Supermarket located around 5 minutes walk away. City center is 20-30 minutes car ride away.

The hotel building surprises you inside. The fassade does not give a hint to the greatness of the Lobby area. Rooms are of a good size and bathroom clean and what it shall be for. Breakfast complies with Standards of the Hotel class. Within the vicinity of the Hotels you find Banks Restaurants and convinient stores.

I have been planning for years to visit the Terra Cotta Warriors, but there is always something to prevent - but not this year. In between speaking at a conference, I had a great couple nights at this Holiday Inn which was spacious, clean, great staff, and super food. If you plan to visit in Xian -- make this Holiday Inn your first choice.

After a disappointing stay in Chendu we came here and were pleasantly surprised by a nice clean and modern hotel. Large rooms with a good bathroom. We liked this hotel very much. Staff was very friendly. Breakfast was reasonable for westerners.

The locality is very convenient and hotel staffs are nice. But the swimming pool is disgusting and smelly.

I liked everything about this hotel, excellent breakfast, new modern rooms . The only thing I didn't like is windows are not sound proof our room was on 19th floor still I can hear traffic noise in room.

Wonderful place to stay. Clean and helpful staff. Breakfast buffet was diverse and delicious. Only drawback was that the pool was closed for repair. Location was in the middle of many stores and shops.

This modern hotel had all the ammenities we required for our stay to visit the Terracotta Army. The rooms are excellent, reception is vast and spacious. Access from the main road is easy. Hotel is very clean and breakfast was superb. Also eating in the restaurant on an evening was a nice change from the hussle and bussle of the streets outside; evening meal was superb also and beers/soft drinks were included in the price of your meal. Road noise was a problem to take into account if you are a light sleeper.

So I stayed here for a school trip and it was... pretty bad. Almost everything was broken, the bathroom lock, the shower, the sink, and there were these weird white stains on the bed. there was a big window looking into the bathroom (can I quickly state that the buttons to open and close the shutters were on the outside and access able to everyone) the view looked like it was a drug dealers paradise and we found rotten fruit, and dirty tissues under the bed. So in conclusion I would probably not stay here again if I had the choice, maybe it’s just the room I’m in but still... this place has eerie vibes and I don’t feel too safe sleeping here.

The hotel stay was great and it was located a short cab ride to the big goose pagoda. Xi’an was our favorite city and we wish we would’ve stayed longer! The hotel had a great breakfast as well. The area around the big goose pagoda is a must see!

The hotel is very well maintained with nice helpful staff. The hotel is well positioned to have a taste of local life, also within walking distance to Shaanxi History Museum and Big Goose Pagoda. The hotel double charged us by mistake, but sent back refund very quickly after email communication.

On arrival, I found the shower water running very slowly, with which I could barely take a shower. I asked the staff to get it repaired the next morning. When I got back in the evening, it was not fixed. I asked for it again when I went out for dinner. No actions taken. Finally, the duty officer offered to move me to another room the next day, which was the last night of my stay. I saw foreign objects (in observable size and observable amount) in my glass of grapefruit juicy when I had breakfast in the restaurant. I asked the captain to check it out. He took it, had a discussion with his colleagues, but never came back to me.

Great location. Unfortunately my reservation did not include breakfast, so I can Irvin review the food. Other than that, I was comfortable, clean and my room was at the far end of the hall, and, therefore, quiet. I requested non-smoking room; I got it. No hint of cigarette smoke anywhere in the room. I would stay here again. It is very close to the Pagoda and to shopping- Saga Mall, Metro Supermarket and Walmart. It's also located near two universities, a bus and subway line. I would not recommend eating at the Muslim restaurant close by because the food was not very good. I've eaten better dumplings elsewhere.

The hotel upgraded my room to a suite with a tons of benefits that beyond my expectation. The stuffs, from lobby to room service, to restaurant, are all very helpful. One drawback of the hotel is the facilities are relatively old.

The quality of the food from an international hotel chain is really below standard regardless of whether it is the buffet breakfast or the paid dinner at the cafe. Don't expect fresh seafood as they are really tasteless. Variety of the buffet spread is really limited and repetitive daily only rotate a few dishes on alternate day. The freshness of the hairy crab that they advertised so temptingly on their posters is really not even the standard of a road side store. If you intend to stay in this hotel, take your meal somewhere else. Nonetheless, it is quite centrally located in the shopping belt, a 15 mins walking distance to the popular Chang An road

We had a spacious room overlooking the busy street. There were so many high rise buildings, and many of them lit up at night. We had in-room tea and coffee, a fridge, two complimentary bottles of water, a safe, and bathrobes. Lots of choices at breakfast. I wasn't impressed with the front desk staff when checking out...I was waiting in line to hand in our keys and ask a question, and a man walked right in front of me. I was certain that the staff member had seen me waiting but he didn't say anything and served the other man first. Other than that, we had a good stay here.

After a day of travel from Wuhan to Xi’an and featuring a high speed train sector (always fun) we arrived at our hotel in Xi’an, the Big Goose Pagoda, part of the Holiday Inn franchise. The check-in/reception area was pretty dramatic as it featured an atrium stretching up to the roof with all the rooms opening onto it, over ten stories high. Our room was of an equally high standard with all the mod-cons and a large comfy bed. The view looked out over the University and into the downtown area. The meals were good with a combination of Chinese and European menu choices. Other than that we were too busy exploring Xi’an to spend time on the premises Good place to stay, very comfortable.

The room is quite roomy with comfortable bedding. The whole facility is smoking free.

Faultless in every way. Great staff, room, location and food. Highly recommended

OK place to stay, clean rooms, decent breakfast. Very slow moving elevators. Very strange but mostly functionnal swimming pool, although they kick you out about 45 min before they're supposed to close, so don;t come in the last hour. If you need to exchange currency, Bank of china is right across the street.

Hotel staff just going through their daily work, but are uninformed about non Chinese guests needs, hotel has surface polish but not suitable for the independant traveller.

Special shoutout to Managers Guo and Jamie Chen who really help make the stay very comfortable. After a rather stressful journey from train station to the hotel on a very wet Friday night, Manager Guo upgraded our room and gave great advise on where to go eat local around the area late night. Next day, Jamie Chen was instrumental in securing us train tickets to our next Chinese stop as we did not anticipate that train tickets could be sold out if we do not buy early enough. WIFI in the hotel is rather weak despite Manager Guo getting the tech department to look into it on our floor and in our room. Hotel is a tad dated and could do with a little refreshing but the staff kept hotel very clean, very comfortable and service was top notched. Location of hotel is a little far from the main shopping dining main street but still very accessible to attractions.

Excellent hotel for either leisure or business travel. Conveniently located in Xi'an.

Close to the Xiao Zhai and Big Good Pagoda area, good for sightseeing and walking around when the city isn't engulfed by the smog. Lots of cheap eats around that open late, so even if you get in late, you'll be able to find something to eat. Comfortable rooms with soft and firm pillows to choose from. Would stay again for business or pleasure.

Was in Xi'an for work and the hotel was a good value for what it offered. Breakfast was pretty impressive with a lot of Chinese and western options. The carpet in the room was rather stained, and I think the rooms would look much better if they got rid of the carpet. Everything else was fine, and it was nice to have a gym that provided a wide variety of equipment as it was more of a regular gym that opened to the public.

Hotel was nice. It seems the local air pollution permiates every thing.

The concierge staff and breakfast were outstanding. hotel is nice but, they turn the A/C and even if it is hot in Nov. (when I stayed) The room was hot and they said open a window. Open a window. come on

It is a nice hotel with a comfortable bed. Nice breakfast buffet with a good selection of food items. Dinner time was a bit too short (one day I went at 8pm and there were almost nothing left). Close to top attractions in town. Nice restaurants within 100 m from hotel entrance. Down filled quilt was too warm for the room and there are no thin blankets.

2 double beds mean 2 nice size single beds so if you have 3 in a room that it's so not comfortable- feel a bit cheated as I had 2 bad nights for sleep- thanks holiday inn

the gym is well equipped but no towels and no water! ! this is unacceptable for such hotel!

1 night to see dinner show and terra offa warriors. Asked for a. NOn smoking room- the floor was smelly and the room although did not smell of stale smoke did smell. Think it was the pollution. Had to get out of it to main lobby to avoid it.

David Tao is the best concierge ever. He when extra miles to help me out on everything I needed it. Not too many concierge are like that.

A very comfortable hotel with helpful staff. I recommend buying the breakfast at the hotel as there are not many options nearby.

Value for money in a great hotel with good food and service

Close to food, close to the main city. A few km walk from main attractions though which makes getting a bus a bit inconvenient. Airport is quite far from the main city so prepare around 150RMB for the taxi fare. If Taxi tries to charge you much more than this, you are getting ripped off. Staff were friendly and accomodating and rooms were cleaned daily with a high standard. Highly recommended!

First time in x'Ian. Hotel is in a good location you can walk to the big goose pagoda from hotel. Very attentive staff.

Stayed for 2 nights at this hotel & we liked it's proximity to the Big Pagoda, shopping & restaurants. Nice hotel. It's near the city landmarks w/c was easy access by taxi. We love the breakfast buffet with lots of choices. Room was clean & beds were comfortable. We liked the gym & pool as well. Highly recommendable.

The hotel is great. We were three on a vacation and we loved the rooms and the ambiance. The lobby is big and hotel has a gym, business center, swimming pool... Its close to the Giant Goose Pagoda about 1 km. The staff and the people at the concierge were very helpful. Breakfast is paid. We stayed here for 2 days and visited the Tang Paradise park, Giant Goose Pagoda, Terracotta Warriors and Horses Museum and the City Wall. I would recommend people to visit Xi'an on weekends as the city wall hosts evening shows from Friday to Sunday. There are public buses with a constant fare to go different places and the bus stops are close by. There are groceries nearby if one wishes to buy fruits. I would also recommend cycling on the city wall. It is a great experience for first timers. My mom cannot drive a bicycle so we rented a double bicycle and it was a great experience for her. Tang Paradise is a cultural theme park with musical shows based on chinese themes. All in all, it was a wonderful trip.

The Holiday Inn is a great hotel close to the metro (a 15 minute walk -- when you leave the hotel turn left, walk below the first pedestrian crossing that you can't reach, cross to the other side on the second crossing, then continue along the street until you hit the huge intersection and the metro is a little to the right). The hotel is modern and the breakfast is tasty (make sure that you book a package that includes breakfast, otherwise it's a little on the expensive side). There's good food option right "behind" the hotel (when you leave the hotel turn left and then left again, walking around the hotel and then down the street). The gym is great but the pool was closed twice without notice when we wanted to go for a swim. The business center was not working (the printer was out of toner and they were unable to fax). And there was also no coin-op laundry and it would have cost us more than the price of new clothes to wash a load. These three points aside, it was a great hotel and we enjoyed the stay.

10 minutes walking to metro, and very confortable, excellent breakfast western-oriental buffet

Helpful reception staff who spoke decent English. They moved me to another room without fuss when my original room smelled strongly of cigarette smoke (despite being on a non smoking floor). Decent buffet breakfast. You can easily hail a taxi from outside the hotel into the old town. A one way journey costs about RMB 12-14.

in Xian for 4 days visit good place to stay

I stayed at this hotel 4 nights. The room was very hot and the air conditioner did not work at all. The rooms are controlled by a central air conditioner even though there is controls inside each room. The controls in the room do not do any thing. I guess they are just for a show. The room was very hot and they would not turn on the central air. I could not sleep because the room was hot. Also in the gym if you want water, you have to buy it. I didn't take my wallet to the gym. So, they would not give me any water. This is very ridicules for a hotel gym. All other hotels I stay at, provide water in the gym.

Breakfast was open till 10:am and was very good with a wide asst. of items. Pool opens at 7:30 AM for an early AM swim. Neighbourhood is close to downtown and within walking distance of the Big Goose Pagoda and also a great Museum. Bus stop is a short walk away but you need to understand Chinese to find out which one to take. Neighbourhood is more of a local neighbourhood than a tourist area with small shops with needs for daily life. Location is far from the High speed train depot, but cost less than $10, USD by taxi. It's located out side the City wall but only minutes away. Worth the price we paid to stay there and would stay agin if I return.

We upgraded to business room on the 15th floor. Although it is not on the regular business room's 16/17 floor, this room is still very good - huge room with a sectional sofa which can be used as a bed for kid; huge bath room; a lot of storage spaces. The breakfast is fabulous with a lot of choices of western and oriental food with careful preparation. I personally like the Douhua, congee, various cold dishes, Lanzhou Lamian, wonton soup. The only thing is to mention is that the room is too warm in November and seems the temperature control panel doesn't work so we had to open the window to make room cooler.

Excellent room with very comfortable bad and efficient air conditioning. Fast trouble free internet. Basement swimming pool - decent length. Taxis easy to catch from entrance but buses infrequent. Below standard of Holiday Inns in Hong Kong and Chengdu Oriental Plaza.
