The whole experience from being met at door and helped at reception . The food at evening meal was so properly cooked and served. Breakfast was really good to and the lady serving us our cooked food was very helpful

A gem of a hotel, an absolute bargain for the quality of stay - very good location, comfortable and well equipped room, a decent restaurant (in house, did not go to the Italian next door). Will definitely stay again when in the area.

lovely cosy hotel, accomdating to family’s, breakfast was lovely, room was great, really appreciated that the hotel noticed that my booking had 2 children and reached out to ask about beds we needed before arrival. Will definitely be returning in the future. The staff at breakfast were incredible especially with children made us all feel very welcome.

lack of fridge in the room, as a family with young children it would of been handy to have a fridge in the room especially for milk.

The rooms were very spacious, great selection of drinks at the bar, lots of free parking and two restaurants on site. We ate at both restaurants and the food was good.

The room was very warm and there was no way to adjust the temperature. There was a panel but it would not connect to the network to allow us to adjust the temperature.

I liked that it was 24hours and the booking in progress was easy and stress free.

The bed was so uncomfortable and I didn’t get much sleep. I have to try and prop myself up and pillows under my back- especially being pregnant this was not great!

The room was basic but clean and we were given plenty of towels, there was a hair dryer iron and ironing board which I thought was good there was also a kettle and some complimentary water and shower soap etc The location was good provided you came by car with a retail park and Tesco supermarket within a five minute drive where we got some fast food rather than eating at the hotel

stayed on a bed and breakfast basis, the breakfast was ok, not bad but just ok, the full English was served to you from several warmers but the food was just that- warm, not hot and slightly dried out and we went quite early too. The coffee wasn’t great and the pastries were a bit stale/ dry there was a good selection but just felt it was not the best breakfast I have had.

The room i stayed in was very dated and the lighting wasn’t warm at all. It also overlooked a number of industrial bins which wasn’t what i was expecting from the photos i saw when i was booking it. There was also no aircon. The furniture looked old and worn and the heater wasn’t working. The night porter did what he could to ensure i wasn’t cold. There was also dirt on the carpet. So it wasn’t the comfortable stay i had hoped for. it would have been better for me to pay £10 extra and stay at the Hilton nearby.

I've already answered these once, so don't want to again.

The room was stylish spacious and of a high standard. The location was also great

I stayed for three nights. By the second night, I was unable to sleep because the bedding made me extremely itchy. I strongly suspected that the detergent used was biological, which I am allergic to. I brought this to the hotel’s attention and was told that the laundry is outsourced and there was nothing they could do about it. First thing the following morning, I specifically asked for all my bedding and towels to be changed. For reasons I still don’t understand, the towels were changed but the bedding was not. I raised the issue with staff again, but there seemed to be very little appetite to help. In the end, I had to walk to the nearby Tesco Express, buy a complete set of bedding myself and change the bed myself. Thankfully, this resolved the problem. To be clear, the hotel did straighten the bedding during my stay, but the bedding was never actually changed, despite my repeated requests. This is particularly disappointing because I had stayed at this hotel previously and had a very good experience, as my earlier review reflects. Unfortunately, I will not be returning. Problems happen — that’s life. What matters is how you respond when something goes wrong. On this occasion, I felt badly let down by the hotel’s response.

The mattress on the bed was very soft but firm. I had a very comfortable sleep in the bed.

Although they have made it clear that the hotel does not have AC it would be really nice if they did have it. The windows didn't open very far out so the room was quite warm in the evening.

I would prefer bigger towels as they were a little small. Also beds are only doubles, would prefer king-size. Not the hotel's fault but major roadworks in Rochdale caused long delays in driving around the town

The only problem I had was the heat in the room was too hot 🔥🥵 very difficult to sleep and little windows only opened a little granted the weather was very warm when we were there but some eir con would have been bliss as they had some in d 🍻 bar

The hotel is perfectly placed for visiting family. The rooms are always clean, tidy and well appointed.

Unfortunately the nights sleep was disturbed by other guests 'playing up' in the corridor in the early hours. I found out later it was wedding party guests.

The whole place was lovely. Rooms were very clean and had everything we needed. Great bar and 'beer garden'. Breakfast was spot on and good value. Plenty of parking spaces. The staff were are really friendly and helpful.

Stayed at the royal toby hotel for one night, absolutely disappointed, we checked in late went to the room first impression was wow it’s beautiful everything was neat and tidy, room looked beautiful. Opened the bathroom door and boom hit you a very nasty wee smell. The bathroom was vile. The shower didn’t even work properly. The smell was so awful. Just ruined the whole experience. Room was so hot no sign of AC working. Overall below average.

Having arrived at the time I had booked a table in the restaurant, check in was professionally and swiftly handled. Both restaurants did excellent meals and the staff were very helpful. Room spacious and met my needs. Breakfast was excellent.

we stayed for Lunch,then breakfast the following morning,it was a fabulous hotel lovely food ,lovely staff,spotless and a great choice,the venue was perfect only a short walk into Rochdale centre thanks so much ! we went to see OMD in concert at Rochdale town hall and what a surprise the following morning at breakfast they had stayed there too ! awesome !

I stayed at the hotel for a family wedding and from start to finish all the staff where amazing. They were welcoming and friendly. Nothing was too much. Room was spacious and very clean. The food was amazing and great value for money. The venue was well equipped for my sister-in-laws wedding and the staff went over and beyond to give her the best day ever. Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.

Stayed overnight here whilst attending the OMD concert. Plenty of parking and bus stop just a few yards up the road for Rochdale. Hotel is lovely, especially the bar area and restaurant areas. The room we were in was fairly standard and akin to a typical Premier Inn room but very clean and perfectly comfortable. Staff were really attentive and this really stood out for us. We had lunch in the restaurant which was excellent and reasonably priced (although drinks were expensive). Breakfast was a £10 add on which was really good value for money with a full cooked buffet style breakfast and pastries, cereal etc. Only disappointment were the scrambled eggs which I think were powdered. I'd stay here again and not look elsewhere if coming back to this area

Absolutely fabulous stay. We were in Rochdale for the OMD gig so chose here to stay over. Plenty of parking spaces in the car park, lovely bar and tables outside. The check in was really smooth and the room perfect and quiet. We opted to have the breakfast added on for an extra £10 each, which was lovely, comprising of a buffet with a full cooked breakfast, toast, pastries and cereals. Beautiful decor throughout the place and friendly helpful staff. If we're in the area again rebooking here would be a no brainer!

After my recommended stay in the Toby Royal this week I feel its only right to comment on the ambience , welcoming friendly staff , beautiful building and overall very good value the Hotel is

From the moment we checked in to leaving o couldn’t have asked for a better experience. My daughter was getting married, not at the venue but we used this as a base for the night before and the night of, and they could not do any more, we were made to feel really welcome and special on arriving. We were greeted my Nina who went out of her way to really ease our nerves and help us all feel relaxed and comfortable. Any requests we had whether It was for some ice, or an extra higher stool for the makeup artist up artist, it was dealt with quickly and efficiently. Even going the extra mile providing is an ice bucket as well. The rooms were all booked together and in such a way as we did not disturb any other guests as we had an early start to get ready , this helped us to be relaxed while getting hair and make up done ready for the big day. Can’t thank Joseph and his team at the Royal Toby enough, they all made her day even more special. Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone.

Can’t recommend this Sleep & Dine experience enough. Value for money is outstanding to be honest. We dined at Cenetta, food was beautiful and you get plenty. Our stay at the hotel was also great. The staff at the hotel are so welcoming and friendly.

Whenever I stay in Rochdale I always prefer to stay at The Royal Toby hotel. The rooms are well appointed and the staff attentive, and all at a competitive rate. Unfortunately, my sleep was interrupted by wedding party guests running up and down the bedroom corridor in the early hours, very inconsiderate to others. I would like to point out that this is the first time I have experienced this in several stays and the hotel was very apologetic.

The mattress was terrible, I could feel every spring, got no sleep at all.

We met up with friends for lunch and as usual it didn't disappoint. I had the fish and chips. Excellent filled by a lemon drizzle cake. Absolutely superb and excellent service. Be back soon.
