Staff great. Leisure Suite exceptional
The faux flames which sometimes herald some celebrations or events
No bottled water in the room.
The room and the bed
On arrival at my room there was a half eaten birthday cake outside the door, not a big problem but when I returned back to the hotel after an evening out the cake was still there 4-5 hours later
Nice large room. Clean. Nice coffee machine.
Shower head holder didnt work so had to physically hold the shower head, not easy to wash hair .Breakfast food was good variety but Luke warm at best. Some of the staff have very poor english. So makes asking for infomation difficult
Friendliness of staff both in the hotel and in the spa
The steam room was not working, a note did eventually appear on the door but from locals this has been a few weeks. Also cleanliness in spa area could be better, some black mould patches noticeably more since our last visit in April. Cobwebs on ceilings in bedroom. Sausages and bacon very over cooked, hard. Bed wasn't as comfy as normal
Good sized room and great gym and spa facilities
Not enough plugs in room
Good facilities and well located
The room was a bit bland and could have done with fridge Breakfast could have been hotter
All the staff very friendly and welcoming, food menu is brilliant for vegetarians and vegans
Pool ceiling could do with a refurb, water pressure in bathroom wasn’t the best in our 3rd floor room
Spa facilities were really good although it can get really busy. Good location to escape the city.
In a standard room, there is no mini fridge. Air con doesn’t cool the room. Would’ve been nice to have a smart tv so we could watch Netflix. Tv only had basic channels. Cleaners did not clean our room they just made the bed and changed the towels. Some of the spa facilities were not working or starting up which was a shame on our last day.
Nothing
As you can see from the photos the room wasn’t hoovered beforehand and there was tobacco on the floor. There was then Corona crate wrappers on the floor which is disgusting. We paid £175 for a single night, so for this quality it was disappointing. There was no bath, like guaranteed in the booking. Left over red wrapper on the floor. A spider in the only light the room had. No working heating, staff left windows wide open when there was a storm on the weekend so it was freezing. It stunk. The bathroom wasn’t even cleaned properly. It was nothing like the pictures guaranteed as your room.
Easy location excellent car parking spaces
Bed room flooring were very squeaky and needs attention
Love this place, been a few times! Great staff, clean and the spa is fantastic.
This time we had no running water in the bathroom. And the bed was broke, very squeaky and lob sided making it uncomfortable to sleep. We had a hick up with food but the staff were quick to correct and apologised.
The bar and restaurant staff were very polite and friendly. The room was great and it was lovely to be able to use the facilities - especially to sit in tge hydrotherapy pool and look out at the trees.
Some parts of the hydrotherapy poollook3d as though they needed some attention - tiling could have been cleaner in parts and the "plastic door strips through from the smaller jacuzzi to the hydrotherapy pool could have been updated/ cleaned.
Love that the location is in an amazing place Staff is great The spa facilities including the hotel is valued at a great price Always a pleasure to stay here it’s comfortable clean and reliable
Only downfall is that the robes should be supplied in the bedrooms
Lovely rooms big and clean Wedding went well rooms nie
Bad organisation at reception definite mix up with rooms then told we weren't booked in stress didnt really need as was my daughters wedding next day even when tried explaining was told we was wrong then manager came told us he would knock off price of upgrade how when we didnt have a room allegedly then receptionist again was mistaken saying we had only booked one night showed her our booking was 1st till 3rd so definitely 2 then next day was told hadnt booked breakfast so couldn't have breakfast until we again had to show booking and like magic aloud a breakfast no real apology
Big parking
Unfortunately the allocated room that I was given had windows facing court yard next to smoking place - receptionist said there is no smoking place there :) …so when I asked for different room she said they are fully booked - therefore my question was if there was no problem with room why she cannot give me different one- and give this “good one” to another guest- the only other option was downgrade - in the end I resigned- thank god the Accor Group in Europe has really better staff and standards…
The staff were all friendly and attentive. The room was nice and comfortable and despite a wedding during our stay we didn’t hear anything. The breakfast was very good and the dinner we ordered to our room.
The swimming hours for children was a little frustrating as we chose the hotel for the pool but were unable to use it in the day of our arrival. The pool was also quite cold.
Clean and receptive
The spa and hospitality
The closeness to home
It was tired needed a lick of paint, and wasn’t up to a great standard
We liked how friendly the staff were, each staff member was very polite, well mannered and welcoming. We liked the spa, the drink selection, cleanliness of the hotel and our room.
Our bed was very uncomfortable, we were in a room facing the road noisy so couldn’t open a window to cool down. The breakfast selection was good but poor quality. We accessed the spa on arrival and was told when we got there there were no towels available so was offered two hand towels! Our hotel room felt dated the bathroom and entrance to room was great but the room itself was dated and lighting very dim. The lack of sockets by the bedside table, unable to charge phone near by
We attended a wedding at the hotel and the facilities were great. However the main thing that struck us was the staff! They were superb, very attentive, polite and an absolute asset to the Hotel.
Nothing
We came last year and this and prob next year good location to visit my niece and walks too and bonus swim and my daughter loves gym all round good for us 4 of us stay well-done to all staff and owner of course
Every thing
Friendly staff on reception Lovely food Immaculate room
I was with my daughter and upon check in was told we had missed that days slot for swimming with children and we had to leave early the next day so missed that slot too
The swimming pool was very good although I had difficulty with the keypad on the locker. The room and bathroom were nice sizes.
There were no hooks by the bedroom door to hang outdoor coats/ jackets. It was good to have two armchairs, but they do not give good back support. In the bathroom the towel rail is on the opposite wall from the bath/shower. There is no rail /hook at the end of the bath to hang a towel while showering/ bathing. Therefore, after showering/bathing the floor gets wet when reaching for a towel from the towel rail. Also there is no grab handle at the end of the bath to provide support and assist balance while stepping out of the bath while wet. All the above can easily result in a slip and fall. A hook and a grab handle should be provided at the end of the bath. There was also no towel rail near the washbasin for a hand towel. The room had a glass covered unit which contained a large void on the left side and a single shelf on the right side for the kettle and tea/coffee making material. We were told by reception that the void would contain a refrigerator if we were in a higher class room. Considering that there was an appalling lack of shelf space for two occupants, this was a lot of wasted and unusable space which should have been equipped with more drawers. We stayed for five nights. In our opinion the wardrobe and storage facilities are totally inadequate for stays longer than two days. There was a lot of door slamming along the corridor late at night caused by the springs of the door closures being too strong and inconsiderate, thoughtless customers not controlling the doors. A slammed door at 03.50 am was particularly unwelcome. While we recognise that fire regulations require bedroom doors to have closures, it should be possible to adjust the door locking mechanism and return spring to create a smooth, soft and quiet closure action that excludes/prohibits slamming.
The receptionist was pleasant. The room was clean and a good size. The bathroom was large and clean also .
The hotel lacks atmosphere in general. The staff are not very enthusiastic, and give the feeling they are miserable in their job. Uniforms were sloppy and shirts grey, some staff didn't bother with cufflinks and sleeves were flapping all over when serving food and drinks. We stood and waited to be served whilst staff were busy socialising with one another. The hallways were left untidy, with plates of food left on corridor floors (these were there when we arrived and still there when we left) Someone had dropped a pair of heavily soiled underwear on the floor and it stayed there all day until I decided to notify reception. The spa was ok, but again lacked atmosphere and plastic bottles were discarded and left the whole duration of our stay, without being cleaned up. The food in the restaurant was again a disappointment. The starter was ok (creamed mushroom on ciabatta bread ) but the main lacked flavour and there were hard bits in the supposedly creamy mash. My partner had the curry, and again, this lacked flavour and was disappointing. The breakfast was ok with lots to choose from, but again the atmosphere in the restaurant and bar was flat and not a pleasurable experience. Overall, I would not say this is not a 4star experience, probably a 3 at a push. Lots of issues need to be addressed at this hotel, it seems it is lacking good leadership. Would we return? No, I don't think so. There are far better spa hotels for the money.
Clean and good sized room
Restaurant staff were really bad Looked miserable and half asleep Didn’t have a clue on good service. Would have preferred a better bar/lounge area ….one that wasn’t used for breakfast lunch dinner and every Tom dick and Harry passing through…..wasn’t a nice relaxing environment
Me and my partner like the facilities and the fact you can use them for your whole stay.
We think some facilities need a little tlc and the rooms a little dated and maybe not as clean as they could be.
Quiet stay. Staff very friendly and polite. Spa was great.
Found that the hairdryer was faulty and the kettle leaked. otherwise stay was very good.
Friendly staff good breakfast straightforward booking in/out procedures
Room refresh could have been better, bed not made glasses not cleaned and refreshments not replenished
The Location was good, the breakfast was excellent, and the staff were very polite and professional. The room we stayed in wasn't as big as it appeared online nor from the pictures we had seen of this. That said, the bed was comfortable and the room was clean.
The facilities there was multiple things to.choose from
Air con in bedroom was a little too loud was hard to fall asleep & far to warm to fall asleep without it
Welcoming and very comfortable
There weren’t any big plates available at breakfast but the breakfast was excellent
Rooms & spa were lovely. All very clean. Beds very comfortable. Hotel throughout was very clean.
Dining/Bar area very small for such a big hotel. Breakfast was extremely busy, loud & very small area where breakfast is. Cues for coffee machine & toaster. Maybe booking times for breakfast, meals would work better. Outdoor seating very minimal, could definitely benefit with more.
The spa and hot tub and the views
Quiet location, friendly staff, great spa facilities and plenty of choice at breakfast
Rooms need to be thoroughly checked before guests arrive we found sweets in the cupboard and an instruction leaflet under a chair. However this did not spoil our stay
Liked full facilities and staff
Didn't like the rudeness off unpolite guest in bar
Breakfast and spa facilities
Lack of outside seating
Breakfast was great Location nice Spa great Not much more to say, except overall a goof 4 star rated hotel, liked it
I chose this hotel and spa as a treat for me and my boyfriend and it did not disappoint. The room was lovemy and clean and the spa facilities were incredible for the price i will definitely be revisiting. Breakfast was lovely with plenty of variety and i especially enjoy the fact it is buffet style
Good breakfast. Good location for going to Rochdale
The chavs at the wedding
Facilities
Nothing
All around, the best hotel I have stayed at in very many years. Service, the smiles and support by Staff. Good food and outstanding public relations.
The best location I have known, large rooms, very comfortable bed, outstanding furniture, very clean and facilities residents are entitled to, Spa etc….etc…
Everything, decent little hotel
Nothing, everything was good
Friendly staff
Small postions of food
Comfortable room, courteous staff and excellent bar facilities with good menu choices.
Good size room, everything needed. Aircon Good spa and pool

Not much bar area for residents slow service
The room was clean and the team were welcoming
Prices of the drinks
the rooms were amazing and air con was amazing in this heat. didn't use spa facilities or pool but was very comfortable in the room that I was in
nothing to dislike as stated all ameneties I used had no problem with.
The spa is a great facility
Carpets are quite worn. Would be nice to sit outside to eat.
the outside setting
The carpet in every area requires TLC
The room was lovely and the grounds
The breakfast was cold. The kettle in the room leaked. Used pod machine, asked for more pods, never got them.
I liked the location
We had keys that didn't work the beds where uncomfortable and there was quiet a bit of noise through the night and are tv only had a few channels
Good facilities, useful location for work.
No electric car chargers on site.
The staff were amazing, all very friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them. The spa area was lovely although a bit busy , but the spa rooms were really relaxing. The grounds were lovely and a large wedding was taking place . Our room wasn’t ready as we were early so had a small bite to eat , food was delicious and the staff kept asking were we okay ( in a good way, they weren’t overbearing )
Some of the rooms are a bit tired and in need of an update . But the rooms were a great size but lacked the wow factor of a 4 star hotel .
Spa was excellent Room was great Location was ideal Had breakfast and it was very good

The swimming pool was nice .
We walked into the bathroom and took a folded towel placed as it if it was new and cleaned. We opened the towel and there was poo stains on the towel and blamed it on the laundry company. They asked if we took pictures and once I said yes they offered complimentary food and drinks and told us to go to the office next day and when we went to the reception they only offered us one night refund and nothing more.
The spa and pool
Showers over baths are v slippery.
The spa and facilities were excellent. The breakfast was good and the staff were very attentive. Refreshing the buffet with fresh food regularly
Everything was fine for our needs and short stay. The fire alarm did activate at 0240 hrs. Found this surprising as the desk where the alarm is located is at the main desk. Would have expected the alarm to have a short delay before activating the sirens in the rooms. Was quickly silenced.
Friendly helpful staff
Our bedroom. The food.
Well looked after with some ongoing decorating which is a good sign. It is clean, spa was ok as well.
Pillows. It’s always pillows that downgrade my stay !!!
Love staying here. Fourth time staying with my son who has autism. We love the pool and the comfortable rooms. It’s such a peaceful place to stay and the staff are lovely and so helpful.
N/A
It was clean and comfy and the facilities were amazing.
Enjoyed everything about it
Location, parking, friendly housekeeping
Damp smell in bedroom, smoke alarm went off at 1am just for using the shower and poor customer service before my stay
The spa is amazing
The breakfast isnt that good
From the moment we arrived we felt right at home. The whole team from reception, to maintenance, bar and restaurant and gardeners were brilliant - super friendly and accommodating. Special shout out to the maintenance guy who fixed our aircon, taking the luggage trolley back for us and finding us a shady spot to sit. We had 3 rooms and requested we were all close to each other - no problem. It was boiling hot and the bar staff kept us topped up with water and ice whenever we asked. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Food was excellent. There was a big event taking place but we didn’t feel “lost”. Spa was great - big pool plus sauna etc. the jacuzzi has a great view. Real value for money. Thanks Norton Grange.
Staff from reception, waiting on, bar, maintenance, bedroom/cleaners are all superb. Never have I visited a hotel where all staff have been so attentive. Whilst our room was not ready on arrival due to a problem with the air conditioning, maintenance was on it. It was rectified very quickly, no fuss. There was a large conference going on, that took up a large portion of outdoor space, no problem, we were secured with a suitable area in a shaded area for us girls, to enjoy. Spa facilities excellent. Food excellent. Rooms are comfortable. We will definitely return. Well done and thank you for a very enjoyable visit
Lots of facilities you can use. Welcoming staff.
Bar staff were slow and didn’t specify if it was table service or you went to the bar for evening food. Room was slightly dim and old fashioned. Clean but not what I expected for £273 for 2 nights.
Great pool facilities and an excellent breakfast! Basic room was big and clean
Great value breakfast
Ok… ish A low review because the 3 key elements you need from a hotel is (1) dark room (2) comfy bed (3) quiet room. Neither of these key elements were met by the hotel. The room wasn’t dark because there isn’t blackout curtains or blinds that stop light bleeding around the edge…. the bed was quite old and there wasn’t a mattress sealed encapsulation; only sheets used which isn’t great if there are bedbugs or spillages. The room wasn’t quiet because the air-conditioner is very old and made banging noises during the night.
We had an absolutely flawless stay and loved every moment of it. The room was immaculate, spacious, and thoughtfully equipped with every little detail considered—from a toy giraffe for the children to a lovely welcome plate on arrival. Breakfast was generous and featured plenty of locally sourced produce, while dinner in the evening was equally impressive, with an extensive menu that was both delicious and beautifully presented. A special thank you to Rama and his team for their exceptional hospitality during what was clearly a very busy weekend. They made us feel like true VIPs throughout our stay.
We had our wedding ceremony in the grange suite the day was perfect from start to finish. Charlotte and her team went above and beyond for us and to make our day perfect.
Location
Sound proofing - could hear between walls and door - could hear staff and other guests all night in hallway - breakfast was dire - ran out of everything!
We had the pleasure of visiting Norton Grange for a business trip. Carole K went above and beyond in her customer service with our group. Thank you so much Carole for looking after us.
Excellent service from Carol, a warm Welcome, she looked after us all day! Thank you
It’s chilled and posh
The bed was a bit hard
Carol was absolutely lovely.
Had such a lovely day, Carol went above and beyond for us. She is an absolute gem and Norton Grange should be sp proud to have her on their team
Carol was absolutely amazing, she saw us through the whole day, sorted us with a delicious lunch. Everyone needs a Carol! 💕
Everything about it. Such a lovely way to the end the week
Spa
The beds were amazing. Sooooo comfortable 😴
There was no fridge. Never known a hotel room without a fridge before. (Extra £30 per night for room with fridge) Very disappointing. Wardrobe doors and table very dirty. Only one chair for two people. Not ideal
We recently had our wedding at Norton Grange, and we honestly couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day. The food was absolutely delicious, and all of our guests commented on how much they enjoyed it. The staff were fantastic throughout the entire day – friendly, professional, and always happy to help with anything we needed. We chose the Twilight Wedding Package, and it was excellent value for money. Everything was beautifully organised, and the wedding suite was stunning, making our stay even more special. A special thank you goes to Charlotte, the wedding coordinator, who made our day perfect from start to finish. Her attention to detail, organisation, and support throughout the planning process and on the day itself were incredible. She made everything run smoothly, allowing us to relax and enjoy every moment. Everything was perfect, and we couldn’t have wished for a better venue to celebrate our wedding. We would highly recommend Norton Grange to any couple looking for a beautiful venue with amazing staff and outstanding service. Thank you for making our wedding day so memorable!
My friend got married here on Saturday and we can honesty say from start to finish it was truly amazing, nothing and i mean nothing was too much trouble for the staff especially the manager Mo and Rama events manager. The service was excellent the food was beautiful, we had a three course meal during the day and hot buffet in the evening, it was delicious and plenty of it. I definitely would book here again, the facilities in the hotel, pool, sauna etc were clean and a added bonus for us to enjoy, the rooms were clean and beds were comfy. Thank you all so much.
Says 4 star but it’s a 3 at best It’s old and tired
Rooms are old and dated Beds are small Room was dirty, someone’s sock was left
The older part of the front of the hotel
The view of the roof and the lift is very slow
The facilities and room
The wedding party
The breakfast was good
We had a dripping tap all night and a loud aircon machine outside our window so didnt get much sleep then at 6am the fire alarm went off causing me to get up in a panic for it to be a false alarm and now the hotel is ignoring my messages. Also the spa is full of members which wasnt stated on the booking.
Breakfast was good
The room - 234- was dreadful - booked a twin room one bed didn't have a headboard There was huge bleach stains on carpet a chair that was full of holes radiator had a lot of paint missing beds were dreadful. This isn't 4 star! Our view was a flat roof with all the tarpaulin rotting away How do we get a refund
