Staff was friendly

The bathroom floor was sticky and there were little gnats flying around

Location was great. No frills was fine for the type of stay we had - i.e. Primarily visiting Acadia Partk

Towels were ripped. Paper supplies were sparse. Little room to hang stuff.

Very clean rooms and attentive staff. Close enough to the village to walk but far enough away to not have the noise.

No coffee maker or microwave in the room.

Very walkable to many dining options and local shops. Reasonable drive to Acadia National Park

The property was an easy walk to the downtown Bar Harbor area and the Bar Island pathway was only two and a half blocks away. The reception desk staff were all super nice. They also had great coffee available in the lobby, recycling for bottles and cans as well as a large shaded lawn area with a picnic table and chairs to eat and relax outside.

This is an older motel and not as nice as others we have stayed in for the same price. The first night, the people in the room above us on the second floor made a lot of noise at 1:30am that even woke me up with earplugs in!

Perfect location, friendly staff, clean and comfortable room

This is a traditional Motel, not a "hotel" or "inn" so we went with that expectation. Recently renovated rooms, clean and up to date. Great check in and 24 hour manager lobby with complimentary coffee. Free parking and easy walk to everywhere in Bar Harbor. Was exactly what we needed during the busiest season.

Bar Harbor is incredibly expensive. This was the cheapest hotel available. Yet it was $ 470 a night for a room with 2 full beds. Very basic motel. Clean, Courteous staff. But normally would go for under $100 bucks anywhere else. The problem is staying close to Acadia National Park is impossibly expensive. This is a cheap motel, for the price of a decent hotel in Manhattan.

Location is great! Walking distance to everything in downtown Bar Harbor. Room was clean, beds were a bit lumpy and pillows were okay. Staff was super nice. They had plenty of ice to fill our waterbottles and coolers. Easy to get to Acadia National Park for days of hiking and exploring.

I wish that the bed was a bit more firm and was not lumpy in spots.

One bed was “broken “ I would say. The foot was higher than the head of the bed. The bathroom was tiny and the toilet was rickety. It kept moving. and worst of all the carpet was so dirty walking across it two or three times my feet were filthy. I did report that to management on checkout.

The only thing going for this hotel was location. This is a very old hotel and online It looks pretty good. When we walked in the room, it wasn’t too bad but one bed I would say it was broken. The foot was a lot higher than the head so we had to turn the blankets around and sleep the other way. no coffee in the room, the bathroom was tiny and when you took a shower, it would not stay just on the shower part. The faucet for the tub was going also and I was standing in ankle deep water for my shower. The carpet in the room was absolutely filthy. Walking back-and-forth around the room my feet were black. On checkout, we did mention that fact, and she said that the carpets in the rooms were cleaned two months ago.

The room was clean, air conditioned and the beds were comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. The coffee was better that expected for hotel lobby coffee.

This motel is in a great location. Easy walking distance to the town shops and restaurants and a quick drive to get into Acadia. It was nice to be able to just leave our car at the motel and avoid all the stress and fees from parking downtown.

It is a pretty basic motel apart from the location, so the price feels a little excessive for what you're getting.

Worst hotel I have ever been in because of moisture in room. Toughed out 3 nights because of good location to walk downtown, but had to move to another hotel as it was intolerable. Every single piece of clothing in both our suitcases was wet (like pulling clothes out of dryer and needing an hour more drying time), when we unpacked in new location. Staff was very nice, but intolerable conditions in room because of moisture!

The staff was unfriendly. The parking was bad. The mattress AND pillows were awful. Not super close to downtown, but walkable (11 mins). Hotel was dated and in disrepair, stairs and railings need repair! At $415/night this place was hugely disappointing! No coffee in room/TINY, very dated bathrooms. Ridiculous price for this place.

The Anchorage was the perfect place for my stay and exceeded my expectations in several ways. Its location struck an ideal balance between convenience and accessibility. It was close enough to downtown that I could easily walk to restaurants, shops, and local attractions, allowing me to enjoy everything the area had to offer without needing to drive. At the same time, it was situated in a spot that made it easy to leave town and explore other parts of the island, which was a huge advantage for sightseeing and day trips. One of the highlights of my experience was the staff. Everyone I interacted with was friendly, welcoming, and genuinely helpful. Whether I had questions about the property, needed recommendations for places to visit, or simply wanted assistance during my stay, the team was always approachable and eager to help. Their professionalism and positive attitude made me feel comfortable and well taken care of from the moment I arrived. The facilities were also excellent. The property was consistently clean, organized, and very well maintained. It was clear that great attention is paid to both the guest experience and the upkeep of the grounds. Everything felt fresh, cared for, and in good condition, which added to the overall comfort of the stay. I would gladly stay at The Anchorage again and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable, convenient, and welcoming place to stay while visiting the island

Needs a microwave and fan in bathroom.

Definitely do not recommend this hotel. Window did not lock, tub did not work. Most importantly the phones do not work, so you cannot report complaints as you go along. No mugs for hot water. No clock. When I talked to manager, she told me to just submit a bad review, so terrible customer service as well. There are much better places to stay having been there.

The motel is in a great location being walkable to downtown Bar Harbor and a short drive into Acadia National Park. The room was clean and met our expectations. There is a water filler in the lobby which was helpful. The free parking was a plus.

Parking is tight and depending how late you get back to the motel, you may have to park very far from your room or find few parking spots available. The housekeeping service knocked on our door at 8AM on the day of our check-out and told us they thought we were already gone. This wasn't too much of a problem since we were in the process of packing up but there was the miscommunication.

The Motel was within walking distance to the town center. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The manager was great when we needed to check out a day early, very friendly & helpful!

Close walking distance to town.

Parking for cars should have hotel hang tag. We went for 4th of July and clearly people were parking in this lot to walk to town. Hard for hotel to police unless they stand outside.

Room was humid, so the carpet felt damp.

We were so pleasantly pleased with our room and it's location. It was an end unit with extra room I am told and it fit our needs perfectly. Listening to the ocean is a huge bonus. I liked being able to see what was going on in the town but with privacy and ocean breezes and sounds all weekend. I will return!!

There was a cement step on the ground level that I felt could be made bigger. I felt that older customers may have an issue with this.

The motel was great! The staff was so friendly and helpful. There was coffee and tea out throughout the day which was a nice little comfort. We really were only there to sleep and enjoyed being walking distance to the downtown and only a ten minute drive to Acadia. I loved that the room and bathroom were very clean!

The beds weren’t the most comfortable. We could hear people upstairs and on the sides of us. Carpets were worn and dated.

This was a great location, easy to walk to sights, restaurants, and grocery store. Parking was included during our stay. The staff was friendly, and the room was clean. The room was a little bit outdated with a small bathroom, otherwise it was great!

We found what was about the last available room in town at this motel. We'd noticed it before, but had always stayed elsewhere. We were greeted pleasantly, directed to our room, which was quite pleasant and spacious, and settled in for the couple days we'd be in town. The room was equipped with a microwave and a small fridge. The bed was comfortable, though the pillows were a bit not to our liking. The HVAC unit had a tendency to make some noise, but it didn't disturb our sleep. It's an easy walk from this motel to the Village Green, which is the center for all the busses in the area. The management is also gracious in that on the day of departure, they allowed us to leave our vehicle in the parking lot for the rest of the day. That may not apply on a holiday weekend, but it was nice on the day of our departure. All in all, a decent place for a reasonable price. We'd not hesitate to use it again.

Amazing Check In Experience! Natalle looked for our name and couldn’t find it, eventually we realized I booked for July not June! The hotel had no more rooms for the night. Natalle didn’t judge me, she got on the computer and then phone to get us quickly booked into one of their 12 sister hotels for a comparably priced room on a lovely Inn. We were highly appreciative and impressed!

This motel is very dated and the rooms are not very nice. Basic at best….and the room feels dingy. Honestly it just doesn’t feel comfortable. Was surprised to see many 5 star reviews because that doesn’t accurately portray this hotel. Also it says the rooms have been updated but they still seem old and outdated. The price is too high for the quality. I wouldn’t stay here again. The only good is the location and you can walk to downtown. Overall am disappointed in this motel.

Excellent service- so convenient to your beautiful town- peaceful and relaxing . All amenities except the tv channels need upgrading but overall acceptable- will definitely return for more visits. Park and walking paths in town add to a superb plesent vacation experience

Well first of all I would like to say I am not one for writing a bad review, but since the hotel has not reached out after several emails, this needs to be said! BED BUGS do not stay!

Great location to explore Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. We could easily walk to multiple resaturants, shops, and nature trails. Parking on site and easy to check in.

The staff were pleasant and the nearness to Acadia. Fortunately my room’s close proximity was close to the office and therefore the microwave and coffee maker.

It's an older place but it's very well maintained and clean. The location was perfect. It was nice to get a good cup of coffee in the morning. The staff were very pleasant and helpful.

There was nothing really not to like. I guess I didn't like having the TV on the same circuit as the lights.

Amazing location and decently priced in comparison to other accommodation in the area. Helpful reception and perfectly comfortable for a weekend trip to Bar Harbor/Acadia.

Decently priced given the area does NOT mean decently priced in general. For what you get the nightly rate is extortionate. The rooms are clean enough (clean but old stains on carpets and couches) but my biggest issue was noise - the walls are so thin you can hear neighbours talking and snoring as well as the pipes whenever someone has a shower. If you are a light sleeper this isn’t for you.

This Motel is centrally located in Bar Harbor and is an easy walk to meals and shopping! It is quiet and comfortable. Many shops and the Shore Path walk are just a few blocks away from the Motel. A very enjoyable stay. Front desk staff was very friendly and accommodating.

This motel is no-frills, but extremely clean and comfortable. It is convenient to Main Street and the harbor. Definitely would recommend.

Everything was excellent, but to be slightly nit picky - Found one small tissue behind the night stand, bed was slightly pitched to middle so my partner and I rolled into center. Otherwise was very comfortable. Would have liked a screen on front window maybe, or a way to get a cross breeze while still maintaining privacy, but I know that is a tough one with the setup of the motel.

Highly recommend the Anchorage Motel! You really can't beat the location as it is within walking distance to all the sites in town. The motel itself was very clean and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful, in particular Susie who gave us many great restaurant and hiking recommendations! This is a great place to stay, especially for those who plan to spend most of their time out exploring the area and want a comfortable and convenient place to stay at night. Without question, this is where I would book if we are ever able to make it back to Bar Harbor again!

Front desk employees were very accommodating. We had car trouble on the way and needed to add a night to our stay and it was no problem. The staff were very nice and had great recommendations.

Although it’s located in a decent area the property is not well-maintained the rooms are not clean and should be repainted. The motel is way over priced at $347 a night. No one should pay more than $150 to stay at this property!!! I would not recommend this property to anyone!

WAS THE AREA AROUND THE HOTEL SAFE? YES, for the most part until I encountered two guys drinking and smoking at the picnic table inside of the parking area late one night. They were a bit creepy, and I assumed they were NOT hotel guests

Carpet stained, odor in room, could see people outside bathroom window which had no curtain. Fixtures and old heater in floor were all rusted. Beds slept like doors. Ridiculously high price for such accommodations. Very disappointed.

Comfortable bed and room, friendly staff, good location. Morning coffee in the lobby was appreciated and it was great to have a fridge and small microwave in the room I was very happy with my stay here.

We came on the very last weekend of the season and this hotel was insane value for money. Clean space and convenient location. Susie was the best! She gave great recommendations for hikes in Acadia. She just went above and beyond to make sure we felt welcomed and had everything we needed. Will for sure say again.
