Happy Beach Resort

The accommodation is perfectly located in Unawatuna, right between Turtle Beach and Unawatuna Beach. Honestly, thanks to its stunning private beach, we didn’t even feel the need to visit the main beach. Waking up with the ocean directly in front of you is simply breathtaking—so peaceful and beautiful. The place itself is very clean, the owner is incredibly kind, and the breakfast is excellent. We were allowed to check in early and continue using the common areas after checkout, which was a lovely touch. The owner also arranged our airport transfer, making everything seamless. Highly recommended—thank you for such a wonderful stay!

Die Lage ist hervorragend, das Personal sehr nett. Der Strand ist wunderschön Es ist eine kleine, einfache Unterkunft in der man durchaus einfach ein paar Tage verweilen kann und jeden Tag den Sonnenuntergang genießt.

Evtl. könnte der Kühlschrank oder ein paar Badeinrichtungen mal erneuert werden, aber soweit war es durchaus noch ok.

The location is unbelievable. One step, and you are on the beach! The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom exceeded expectations. The breakfast was amazing! Would recommend!

Loved being a short Tuk tuk ride from Unawatuna. Gorgeous little private beach. Delicious breakfast served essentially on the beach each morning. Felt like we had the resort to ourselves. All in One restaurant directly across the road to dine in or for take away was the best.

Happy beach resort ist ein kleines gemütliches Hotel an unglaublich schöner Lage! Die Bilder stimmen eins zu eins mit de Beschreibung überein. Das Frühstück ist supergut und sehr reichlich. Die Zimmer sind einfach, aber mit allem was man braucht ausgestattet.

Es dürfte etwas mehr Ablageplatz fürs Gepäck geben.

Absolute Traumlage.Das Frühstück war reichlich, es hat super geschmeckt. Besitzer sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit.

Hotel könnte mal renoviert werden.

Die Unterkunft liegt direkt am Meer und man hat einen privaten Strandund Liegestühle. Die Zimmer sind sauber und der Vermieter sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Das Frühstück ist toll und vielseitig und man sitzt direkt am Meer mit tollem Blick. Restaurants sind fußläufig erreichbar. Die Anlage selbst ist etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Der Preis, den man für ein Zimmer mit Meerblick bezahlt ist ca doppelt so hoch ,wie die Zimmer ,die wir sonst in Sri Lanka hatten und ist nur durch die Lage gerechtfertigt.

Zimmer direkt am Meer, toller Ausblick, Klimaanlage, Ventilator, Kühlschrank, gutes Bett, immer heißes Wasser. Bettwäsche, Handtücher und das Zimmer waren grundsätzlich sauber. Funktionierende Stranddusche. Leckeres Frühstück, der Vertreter des Vermieters war sehr bemüht und hilfsbereit. Man kann Wasser, Bier und Softdrinks kaufen. Baden sei bei Ebbe empfohlen. Bei Flut steht der Strand unter Wasser. Fußläufig sind Restaurants in ausreichender Anzahl und ein Wine Store erreichbar.

Dass trotzdem kein gutes Urlaubsgefühl aufkam, lag an der Ungepflegtheit der ganzen Anlage, die mit mehr Achtsamkeit beseitigt werden könnte. In unserem Badezimmer waren das Waschbecken und die Toilette neu, der Rest der Ausstattung gefühlt uralt, Kühlschrank von außen mit Rostflecken und unansehnlich, Wasserkocher mit Stockflecken am Ausguss. Feuchtigkeitsbedingt riecht es sehr muffig im Badezimmer, trotz Lüftungsschlitzen. Liegen, Auflagen und Sitzkissen sind alt, schmutzig und laden nicht zum Verweilen ein. Für die Qualität der Ausstattung war der Preis nach unserer Erfahrung in den letzten zwei Wochen auf Sri Lanka trotz direkter Strandlage nicht angemessen.

La petite plage au pied de l'hôtel, la vue incroyable. Le petit déjeuner face à la mer La chambre spacieuse avec brasseur d'air, climatisation et moustiquaire. La grande salle de bain. Le lit très confortable. Le couple qui tient l'hôtel est très charmant et disponible.

La salle de bain reste très humide malgré une ouverture persienne. L'hôtel ne propose que le petit déjeuner et n'a pas de boisons à vendre dans la journée.

Nous avons apprécié l'extraordinaire emplacement de ce petit coin de paradis les pieds dans l'eau. Le petit déjeuner est excellent, toujours servi chaud et varié avec des fruits frais et des jus de fruits maison. Il s'agit d'une entreprise familiale et nous avons apprécié la gentillesse et la souplesse du monsieur qui la gère, toujours prêt à rendre service. Ce séjour d'une semaine de repos était bienvenu après 10 jours pendant lesquels nous avons sillonné le Sri Lanka avec un guide, multipliant les visites et excursions de tout genre. Néanmoins, cet hébergement n'est pas isolé, tout près d'Unawatuna, à 2 pas de très belles plages et de la belle ville de Galle.

La circulation est dense en bord de route, nous conseillons d'emprunter la plage.

You can add it naturally like this: ⸻ The owner was friendly and helpful, however we felt more at ease and welcomed at some of the other accommodations we stayed at during our trip.

Although we shared our arrival time in advance, check-in was delayed. Then you don’t need to ask at what time we arrive… On the first day, breakfast was also served about 30 minutes later than the agreed time, which unfortunately made us rush to our appointment. For the price, the rooms felt really expensive and way to overpriced compared to all places we experienced in Sri Lanka in more than 2 months and the location is really isolated with nothing within short walking distance. There were also super many crabs around and in the property, which made us uncomfortable and meant we didn’t end up going into the water — even though that was one of the main reasons we chose this accommodation. There was no room service available. Overall, it didn’t meet our expectations, and we personally wouldn’t choose to stay here again. Was the worst accomandation of our Trip.

Gemütliche familiäre Atmosphäre. Ein Ort zum Wohlfühlen nah dran aber abseits vom Trubel direkt am Strand. Sehr nette Gastgeberfamilie und Super Frühstück! Ort zum entspannen und wunderschönem Start in den Tag oder auch Ausklang eines Ausflugtags.

Fantastic location, right on the beach. We loved that we could walk straight from our apartment onto the beach and into the sea. We were served a fabulous breakfast and had a lovely stay.

The apartment was a little dark, but a very minor point with such a fantastic location.

Een kleinschalige accommodatie. De eigenaar doet alles zelf. Overdag zie je hem niet. Prachtige lokatie echt strak aan zee. Bij het ontbijt kun je de schildpadden zien zwemmen.

Staying here brings serenity, especially when your room overlooks the sea. This small, rather spartan hotel, but impeccably clean, both in the room and the bathroom, provides the comfort you expect for your vacation. But the real highlight is Sameer, the owner, whose attentiveness and kindness will ensure you have the perfect stay.

I think this is one of the best accomodations we’ve ever visited. The location is stunning. The owner is the sweetest, he will help you with everything you need. We had a small issue with our rental tuktuk. He made a phone call and in few minutes mechanic came and fixed our tuktuk for the same price you buy a coconut :D really awesome, the breakfast were really awesome. As I have intolerances I wasnt worried to eat here because he will tell you what its made of so if you have some problem with your intolerances dont worry. The room was really nice, bathroom also really nice. There is not a single thing I would change. Thank you so much

Clim un peu capricieuse

Det lå dejlig tæt på stranden og fantastisk udsigt ud over bugten til Unawatuna. Samt at beliggenhed var rigtig god, da der var buddhisme festival i byen, så der var mange mange mennesker på strand ved Unawatuna. Så vi var glade for beliggenhed.

Det eneste var at man skulle op på vejen før man kunne gå ad stranden til unawatuna.

This is a lovely hotel. We have had a wonderful time in Unawatuna. The location of the hotel is fantastic, right on the beach front. We had one of the Deluxe rooms which led out directly onto the beach. Sameer looked after us extremely well and made our stay all the better. Breakfast on the beachfront was spectacular. Food was lovely and very filling. The room was great and had everything we needed. My only very slight criticism would be that the place could do with a little bit of refurbish but that doesn't distract from the overall experience. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a great place to stay in unawatuna

Veľmi chutné raňajky a more priamo pred stolom :) Pred raňajkami si môžete zaplávať na takmer súkromnej malej pláži s pozvoľným vstupom do mora. Niektoré izby s výhľadom priamo na more, my sme bohužiaľ to šťastie nemali, sú úplne dokonalým relaxom.

V januári tam bolo dosť veľa komárov a aj keď bola posteľ chránená ochrannou sieťkou, tak sa vždy nejaký komár prepašoval.

Fantastiskt läge på privat liten strand. Rum med otrolig utsikt samt fin terrass med egna solstolar och fåtöljer. Mycket trevlig ägare som lagar en god frukost dagligen. Ägaren var också trevlig och kom med tips rekommendationer. Jag glömde även mina AirPods kvar på hotellrummet efter utcheckningen. Skrev till ägaren via booking som svarade snabbt och hittade dem samt såg till att jag kunde hämta dem smidigt.

Direkte Strandlage, abwechslungsreiches leckeres Frühstück mit Meerblick, ausreichend Platz im Zimmer. Zimmer mit Meerblick, direktem Strandzugang und eigenen Liegen. Auflagen für die Liegen waren sauber. Kühlschrank vorhanden. Badezimmer ohne Insekten. Direkter Meerzugang, wobei es nicht immer sauber war (teilweise Plastik und Algen/Grünzeug). Durch den starken Wellengang auch ziemlich aufgewühlt. Dusche am Strand. Bushaltestelle 50m vor der Tür. Klimaanlage und Warmwasser ohne Probleme.

Lage direkt an der Straße, man hört den Verkehr aber nahezu nicht, da er vom Wellengang übertönt wird (die Geräuschkulisse muss man aber auch mögen). Wenn man nach Unawatuna rein laufen möchte, dann entweder an der vielbefahrenen Straße oder über den Strand, besser Tuk tuk nehmen.

Super Lage direkt am Meer, Leckeres und reichhaltiges Frühstück mit den Füßen im Sand, toller Ausblick von der Terrasse mit Sonnenliegen. Netter und freundlicher Gastgeber. Wir hatten das preiswerte Standardzimmer zur Straße ohne Meerblick, war aber gemessen am Preis absolut in Ordnung. Wir haben den Aufenthalt sehr genossen!

Solo Sri Lankan entrepreneur: cooked, cleaned, welcomed, and good communication before arrival. The resort is right on the beach where you can watch turtles as you enjoy local fruits and breakfast dishes in the morning. I stayed the week. Rode busses and tuktuks up and down the coast. Great value. As a patron, please remember he is the sole person working. Be patient and ask for what you need. I can’t wait to come back!

Niestety w momencie rezerwacji był dostępny pokój bez widoku na morze. Pokój jest od strony bardzo głośnej ulicy, bez zatyczek nie da się spać. Szkoda że nie ma tego w opisie. W pokoju jest dziwny zapach. Z plusów super śniadanie, dodatkowo gospodarz na naszą prośbę zamiast owoców dał więcej jajek :) piękny widok na morze, codziennie do śniadania obserwowaliśmy żółwie. Bardzo ciepła woda pod prysznicem, cały czas :) fajna lokalizacja blisko do restauracji i na plażę, zaraz obok przystanek autobusowy

Die Unterkunft ist ein kleines Juwel direkt am Strand. Wir hatten ein Zimmer mit Meerblick und sehr viel Privatsphäre. Man hat alles was man braucht zum Entspannen. Im Meer schwimmen Schildkröten. Das Frühstück war hervorragend und das Beste bisher, was wir hatten.

Nichts. Vielleicht einen Besen im Zimmer für den Sand.

Beautiful location, turtles swimming out the front, other guests were friendly.

Rooms were very basic, no hot water & often no electricity. Owner was grumpy, seemed annoyed with us, even though we were unwell. No cleaning of rooms, no extra water bottles given. Breakfast was very rudimentary.

It is in a beautiful and secluded spot at the end of the Unawatuna beach, on the waters edge. Breakfast was fresh and plentiful. Samire, the manager is very friendly and helpful. We had great talks about Sri Lanka and the direct surroundings in particular. He is a community leader, who also tries to support small businesses and people who are in need of help. Райский уголок. Настоящий оазис в унаватуне. Вкусные и питательные завтраки, комфортно обустроенные номера и территория, очень внимательный управляющий. Было жаль уезжать и мы уже скучаем. Безусловно вернемся только сюда.

The accommodation was fantastic, right on the beachfront. My daughter could walk from our room to the shore barefoot. There was a foot-washing area and an outdoor shower as well. During breakfast we could even see giant sea turtles in the water. The surroundings were amazing — we could see the sea right from our bed. Our host, Sameers, was very kind and helpful, and he prepared an absolutely delicious breakfast for us.”

A little gem of a place. We had room 3 which had the most amazing hot shower and lovely sea view with our own sun terrace. The breakfasts were probably the best we have had over the last 3 weeks. Wild turtles PLEASE DON’T FEED OR TOUCH!!! right outside our room were an added bonus. Looks like nothing from the road but we were extremely happy with the service and room.

Helpful staff, breakfast was great, location was also decent. It was about a 15 minute walk to the lively beach area. Tuktuks cost about $1 for a 5-10 minute ride. It is easier to get around if you rent a scooter. Price was fine given that most accommodations in the area were higher. It seems that the area has built a lot newer and bigger hotels.

At times the Wifi wasn't too good in our room (we did not have beach view from our room). There was no room cleaning during our four-night stay.

Отель заявлен как 4*, комната делюкс. Не знаю, кто завысил оценку, отель тянет на 1*(. Какое-то обшарпанное здание, абсолютно не соответствующее представленным фото на Booking! Очень все старое, номер давно не ремонтировался. Соотношение цена-качество не соответствует. Обслуживание оооочень неторопливое на завтраке. Первый раз так ошиблась в бронировании. Единственный плюс-это вид на океан, но слева ему мешает забор из металлопрофиля, прямо-мешки с песком и облезший ржавый заборчик).

The location of property is excellent. Beach is just at the room door. Nothing can be better than this for a beach town stay.

If property is renovated to match its location, it would be a huge hit. With only 4 rooms, it's more like a home-stay rather than resort or hotel so if few more rooms are added to the property, it would make it a wonderful property.

До центра , пешком либо вдоль дороги, либо по дороге, а потом по берегу, но мы ездили на тук туке , мебель уличная в гостевом доме требует обновления , вороны с утра орут , так как хотят завтракать с нами )

Nejlepší ubytování z nasi tri týdenní cesty, milý provozovatel, vyborna snidane, “vlastní” malá pláž primo u ubytovani, lehatka, klimatizace, možnost si vyprat obleceni. Radi se sem znovu vratime!

Vom Zimmer aus sieht man das Meer. Klimaanlage, Toilette und Dusche funktionieren super. Fliegennetze über den Betten sind vorhanden. Am Strand, wo man auch baden kann liegen Muscheln und Korallenstücke, ansonsten sehr schöner Strand. Das Frühstück ist ist wirklich klasse. Da gibt es Kaffee, Tee, Wasser, Ei, Toast, Muffins, aller Art von Früchten, Marmelade, einige Dinge die wir nicht kannten und einen Fruchtmixcocktakl. Es ist sowohl vor als auch in den Zimmern genug Platz vorhanden. Hilfe und Empfehlungen haben wir stetig erhalten. Mehrere Restaurants für Abendbrot sind in einer Minute zu Fuß erreichbar.

Ottima posizione, molti ristoranti a pochi minuti a piedi. Colazione buona. Staff gentile. Ottima la possibilità di usare la spiaggia privata con lettini e tavolini. In quella zona è possibile vedere un sacco di tartarughe che escono sulla superficie dell’acqua a boccheggiare. Letto molto comodo.

4 Blatte in camera. Non si poteva buttare la carta igienica nel water, di conseguenza rimaneva cattivo odore in bagno.

Unless you get ghe budget room, its a good hotel, rooms with see view are nice, but budget... I preferred not to stay. Buy very nice owner helped us cancel without fines. 🌹

Given the price we paid for the accommodation we were very impressed! The rooms were good, it was right on the beach in a good location and the staff were fantastic and made us a decent breakfast! I'd recommend it if you're traveling on a budget!

Very relaxing stay on a private section of beach a short walk from the main area. Excellent breakfast each morning and special mention to Tharuk who was always most helpful.

Breakfast was excellent. The hotel has its own little beach which made for a lovely view at breakfast and at sunset. About 20mins walk to Dalawella and Unawatuna beaches and main restaurants. Powerful and hot shower. Tharuk was welcoming and a very good host, he was very helpful with finding out transportation times for me. Bus stop within a matter of seconds from the property.

The room I was in was facing the main road and was very noisy, particularly at night.

This is a lovely place right on the beach. We had a peaceful stay and wish it could have been longer! We were in room 1 which was very spacious and it’s helpful to have a fridge. We enjoyed breakfast, particularly the fruit juices every morning and you just can’t beat the view! The staff were friendly and welcoming throughout. The manager (sorry, can’t recall name) and Tharuk were always smiley and happy to help.

This is a little private piece of paradise away from the hustle and bustle (but still close). Staff were so lovely and helpful, we especially appreciate Turak preparing our breakfast every morning and always smiling :) The room is romantic, and is quite literally on the beach! We enjoyed our private sunsets, swims and breakfast. The accomodation isn’t boastful and lavish, but is a humble island escape. Amazing value for money, would recommend to anyone!

Our room was at the back ( which we were fine with) but it was quite noisy as it was on the main road with cars and tuk tuks all night. As the main road runs along the beach, this would probably happen in most hotels along the beach.

It was amazing!! The room was overlooking the sea and literally on the beach! I had been craving a room with a view and this was it!! Clean, comfortable room with fridge, A/c, and plenty of hot water with a great overhead shower. Staff were so friendly and provided a plentiful breakfast.

The entrance was very dubious and I wondered if we had made a huge mistake! Looks can be deceiving!

Amazing views of the beach from the property. Literally having delicious breakfasts in the sand with the water lapping next to you. Can see turtles swimming in your own little private beach. The staff were exceptional. The breakfasts were delicious and staff were very attentive. Thanks for an amazing stay. Would highly recommend to anyone in the area!

Close to the sea, calm, beautiful sea view

We had a very small room without a view, without a proper window. It was explained as budget room. But the price was the same like for the room with a sea view, which was not correct. The positive thing was that the owner wrote us that we will not have the room with a sea view, but we didn ´t expect it will be that small. And there were missing some shelves and hangers.

The setting is epic straight o to the beach and is a short distance from the main Unawatuna beach and also turtle beach and a few.other beaches.
