Nothing reality stood out

So first of all the Villa was way back and you had to walk for about 5 minutes to get to the Villa from the main entrance. The walk to the Villa is very steep. That is not even the off-putting part. The pool water was cloudy. The server had to manually put a pipe in the pool to keep the water moving. The weirdest part about the whole place was that the toilet was downstairs and you had to climb the stairs to go to the first level for the bedroom. The light in the patio did not work. It was so disappointing and uncomfortable that we had to book another Villa and leave this villa the same night and ended up paying for two different places. We will not be visiting again

To start, the staff were lovely and the breakfast too. I ended up cutting my stay short as the loud noises at night kept me up and i couldn't rest.

I was placed in the furthest house, which had an open plan - meaning no walls outside apart from the bedroom (upstairs)and the bathroom(downstairs). Kitchen was fully open to the elements and so there were a few critters and animals walking around there any time. The bedroom was upstairs with very narrow stairs that kept moving under me and i felt a little uneasy. There was a wasp nest close to my room- was removed when i asked- but as such i ended up leaving after 1 night

I stayed here for 15 days, and I honestly felt emotional leaving..I was in tears on my last day. Amy and Yoga are a beautiful couple, and they made this stay something I will never forget. From the very beginning, I felt welcomed not just as a guest, but as a person. Amy is always smiling, warm, and caring, and her delicious Thai food made every meal feel comforting and full of love, like home in a foreign place. Yoga deeply cared about my safety as a solo traveler. That sense of protection meant everything to me..knowing someone was genuinely looking out for me, checking in, and making sure I was okay at all times gave me a level of peace I didn’t expect to feel while traveling alone. What touched me the most was how far their kindness went beyond hosting. During Galungan Day, they didn’t let me feel alone at all. They invited me into their home, brought me to their village, showed me around, and included me in their traditions. Amy is the sweetest, she even gave me a Balinese outfit to wear that day. Everything was done so naturally, so generously, and with no expectation of anything in return. I’ve traveled through 7 countries in the last 5 months, staying in an average of 2 hotels per country, and I can honestly say this is the most meaningful and beautiful stay I have ever experienced. Their kindness didn’t just meet expectations.. it completely surpassed them and left a mark on my heart.

I had an absolutely wonderful stay at this accommodation near Ubud. While it’s located slightly outside the busy center, it’s still very easy to reach and actually the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of Ubud. The property itself is beautiful, surrounded by nature, and incredibly peaceful. The restaurant deserves special mention — the food is exceptionally good, truly some of the best I’ve had. The breakfast is also excellent and always a great start to the day. What really made this place special, though, is the warm and welcoming atmosphere. The owners are incredibly kind and genuine, making you feel at home from the very first moment. Everything is handled in a very relaxed and uncomplicated way — I was even able to extend my stay spontaneously without any issues. As a solo traveler, I felt especially comfortable, safe, and well looked after. This is truly the perfect place to arrive in Bali, settle in, and ease into the island’s rhythm. I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful, authentic, and heartfelt experience near Ubud.

Nous avons passé six jours absolument parfaits dans cet hôtel. Toute l’équipe est incroyablement accueillante, souriante et toujours disponible, ce qui rend le séjour encore plus agréable. Le petit-déjeuner est très complet. Nous avons également mangé plusieurs fois sur place : les prix sont très abordables, les portions généreuses et les plats locaux sont délicieux, une très belle découverte. L’hôtel propose aussi la location de scooters en excellent état, ce qui est très pratique pour explorer les alentours en toute tranquillité. Et pour finir, la vue est tout simplement exceptionnelle… un vrai coup de cœur ! Nous recommandons cet établissement les yeux fermés!!!

Tout était parfait

I loved the view, the quiteness of the place, the arrangement of furniture. Everything was looking pretty and well thought out. I had my private pool and also a beautiful view of a rice field. The price was so worth it. It is a family run business and they have a little resturant attached to the property with nice food. I highly recommend it.

I would have liked to have a tiny mirror in the room. Also if you are a person who need to use the bathroom during the night, it is a tiny bit inconvenient as the bathroom is on the ground floor and you need to get down steps. Not a big deal though.

Tuttavia, ci sono alcuni aspetti pratici da tenere in considerazione. La strada per raggiungere la villetta che ci è stata assegnata, è piuttosto ripida e spesso scivolosa a causa dell’umidità, rendendo l’accesso difficoltoso, soprattutto con i bagagli o in caso di pioggia. Purtroppo nel mio soggiorno ha piovuto per due giorni pioggia ed , il giorno della partenza con le valigie, fare quella salita ripida e scivolosa non è stato facile. Un altro punto negativo è la mancanza di acqua calda nei bagni che ha influito negativamente soprattutto nelle ore serali...

I’m on a road trip and this was a perfectly peaceful place to stop for the night. Amy was so lovely and helpful - and so were the rest of the staff. When I had an issue with my room she took care of it immediately and was nothing but smiles. I would stay again.

Amy and Yoga are very friendly and helpful, their staff is very attentive, the bungalows are very well maintained, the outdoor bathroom is an interesting experience but you have to expect some guests (geckoes, spiders, nothing too scary and harmful). We really enjoyed the rice fields between the bungalows. We were upgraded to the villas in one night. Thought the villas had pool and a closed bathroom I consider the bungalow experience is more authentic

It was a very special stay, the owners made us feel like home. Everyone in the family is so welcoming and friendly. The surroundings are beautiful and peaceful - true magic in the middle of rice fields where you can see locals living their life. Easy to get to town and main cafes by scooter or taxi. We loved staying in the vila, so asked if we could extend our stay for one more night and the owners made it work given its the busy time of the year. Thank you so much for this unique experience, we hope to come back one day.

Staff non all altezza e purtroppo incompetente. All arrivo ci hanno assegnato una stanza diversa da quella prenotata e pagata e per di più non era nemmeno agibile. La prima notte l abbiamo cmq pagata a prezzo pieno, disonestà assoluta visto che era veramente fuori contesto. Dopo aver reclamato solo per le ultime due notti siamo stati spostati nella camera corretta. Un esperienza davvero poco professionale. L unica nota positiva è stata la cucina davvero ottima. Peccato perché la struttura ha davvero un gran potenziale...se fosse ben gestita.

We arrived around midnight and were warmly welcomed — the staff were very friendly and the service was truly great. What we truly appreciated was the friendly service and the beautiful natural setting. However, the overall cleanliness, equipment, and condition of the rooms need significant improvement.

However, the accommodation had a strong humidity smell and the floor was slippery. Upon check-in, we had an issue with the keys: the previous guest had taken them, so we were given a replacement key that unfortunately broke inside the door due to its poor quality. Both rooms were unfortunately full of bugs, so we couldn’t use the upstairs room with the beautiful view over the rice fields. That was a shame because the surrounding nature was absolutely gorgeous. The kitchen was poorly equipped — there was no water boiler, and even the coffee provided seemed unsuitable to prepare without a coffee maker. Cleanliness was also disappointing: the bathroom was dirty and outdated, and the general level of cleanliness was not up to standard.

The hotel is inside a rice field with a beautiful view. However, on our last night, a large number of ants appeared on my wife's and my pillows in the middle of the night. This was related to the fact that we were eating cantaloupe in the room. However, there was a dog sleeping on the chair at the door, and we didn't want to disturb him, so we ate in the room. The next day, I took out the dead ants from my ears in the hospital. The doctor gave me anti-inflammatory drugs and ear drops and asked me not to swim for the next few days. I think I have a certain responsibility to tell the next guests to eat away from the room because this is a rice field with many insects. I also saw beautiful fireflies.

Beautiful peaceful location overlooking the rice paddies, 2 levels with the bedroom upstairs and a large verandah. Downstairs there’s a big covered area overlooking the pool. In the large bathroom there is a beautiful bath and separate shower.

All good and the Homestay Family are exceptionally kind and thoughtful. A winner.

The breakfast and dinner was delicious! Our Hut was rustic and met our needs. We appreciated the use of a mattress on the floor for our toddler - Thank you! The owners are a lovely family and very friendly. We are grateful to have been able to take our little dog with us as she is a big part of our family.

The hot water only provided lukewarm warm water not hot water.

Owners are absolutely great, they make you feel so welcome and they’re ready to help out with anything! Delicious food on site, room was also very nice.

It’s a little bit out of the way which is positive since you get some peace and quiet, but nothing is walking distance from here.

This was by far a highlight of my trip, Amy and Yoga have created a beautiful place to relax and unwind. The area was quiet and beautiful, the hosts were friendly and welcoming, the food was amazing and the staff were also just the friendliest people. The villa was clean and well maintained. Overall there was nothing to complain about and I had a very pleasant stay.

It's a very nice homestay in the middle of rice fields, if your looking for relax place and nice people this is it, been there 3 times and will be back again Yoga, Amy and all the staff are so nice, love this place thai restaurant on place, a walk away from another warung and restaurant and also nice massage salon

Very nice staff. We rented a scooter at the hotel, as the location is quite remote. That provides a great scenery surrounding the hotel, rice fields and nature. Road on the way to the property is terrible - holes and tilted. We had a situation with the scooter, and the owner was understanding and reasonable. This left a good impression. We took with breakfast included and it was ok, eggs different styles, fruit, juice, coffee, toasts.

The quiet place outside Ubud

It is a family owned homestay inside a serene rice terrace. Mr. Yoga and his family are looking after it. There are cute pets throughout the property that they have rescued. The villas are wooden structures constructed using traditional techniques. I am a little concerned that it does not really match the images here but everything else was spot on. There's a large bathroom outdoors with electronic bidet, free toiletries and bathtub. The villas have almost all amenities and there are restaurants nearby.

Everything, from the pool, to the room and the location. This place has a great energy. Yoga and Amy makes this place feel like home.

The place belongs to a family and they were the most friendly people we have ever seen! We didn’t even want to leave here but we prebooked our next place beforehand so we had to. They were accommodating for everything. Will definitely come back here on our next visit to Bali!

Our stay exceeded our expectations. The location, the view, the pool, and the comfort of the home completely captivated us. However, our biggest thanks go to the staff, who took care of us as if we were their own. They provided us with great support during a difficult time and were helpful throughout our stay. I highly recommend this place with all my heart, and we will definitely return if we come to Bali again!

Our stay at Ubud Sawah Scenery Villa and Homestay was great ! Amy and Yoga, the hosts, are very nice, friendly, helpful and fun. The rooms and environment are beautiful and peaceful. The semi outdoor shower and bath are really nice too. This place is perfect if you’re looking for a quiet place near Ubud. You can rent a motorbike or book a Gojek or Grab to get around easily. You can also book a massage and have the therapist directly come to your room. The food at the restaurant is delicious. Half the menu is Indonesian food and the other half is Thai food. Both exquisite ! I would go back in a heartbeat and definitely recommend the place !

Der Inhaber Yoga mit seiner Frau Amy und 2 Kindern sind liebevolle, ehrliche Menschen die sich hier mit viel Fleiss ihren eigenen Traum eines Auskommen realisiert haben. Wir waren 6 Tage in der Private Villa mit Pool, waren täglich mit Yoga auf Tour... eine besseren und preisgünstigeren Reisebegleiter bzw privaten Chauffeur mit seinem Auto hätten wir vermutlich nirgends besser erhalten. Sogar Fahrten zu Restaurants etc egal zu welcher Zeit war kein Thema. Wir haben uns sehr wohl und sicher gefühlt und können nur eine Top-Empfehlung aussprechen. Preise übrigens äusserst fair und dem ländlichen Umfeld angemessen. - 22.-28.11.2024 Heinrich & Norina :-)

All of my complaints were solved promptly by the staff. But although this is a farming area, far away from any noise traffic, there are still noises associated with farm life.

I had a lovely stay. Beautiful rooms with family feel to the whole set up and in the middle of the rice fields. This is Bali.

I absolutely loved the ubud sawah homestay. This beautiful place has so much to offer and made my trip to Bali so special. The owners are so sweet and so attentive towards all the people who stay here. I arrived to the hotel at 3 am which made me nervous given that I didn’t know what to expect and I have never been to Bali before (also by myself as a female). The people here were more than happy to check me in. Anything I needed I was able to message them and they responded very quickly. The restaurant was one of my favorite parts of my stay, both the breakfasts and dinners were delicious. This place was exactly what I was looking for: a beautiful tucked away place that’s a little secluded but also near everything as well. I was not looking for a resort, I just wanted a small family run place where I could stay and not feel like a tourist. One thing I would mention is that if you are in a wheelchair or have difficulties walking, moving around the property or your villa might be difficult. I myself am not affected by this but wanted to mention it in case anyone suffers from this. They may have accommodations for this that i’m not aware of as well. Another thing I would like to mention based on some of the reviews regarding bugs… This is an island. If you’ve ever lived on an island, you’re aware of this. I was surprised there weren’t more bugs (mostly saw some ants) considering that you’re in the middle of rice fields. Thank you Yoga and Amy!

We liked everything about our stay and our villa

This is such a hidden gem. Amy and Yoga make you feel. like family. The bungalow, rice fields, and pool are a DREAM. The outdoor bathroom the epitome of Bali. The closeness of many attractions and nature = perfect. Their care and hospitality and attention is amazing. Coming back again next week.

They have a really nice location and their Villas could be very nice. But everything is very dirty, they do not clean the pool, they do not clean the bathroom as it had mold all over the floor. The lounger couldn't be used because it was too dirty to sit on, I found a very large dead bug among many smaller ones in the kitchen area. The people were nice and welcoming but we ended up leaving two days early because the place was just too dirty and we were uncomfortable. We also asked them to clean some things and they said they would, but they did not. We also didn't get the villa we booked, they just put you in whatever they have available at that time. They gave us two small bath towels and that was it. As they say, you get what you pay for.

We can’t say enough good things about our time here at Ubud Sawah Villa and Homestay. We originally booked just a few days, and ended up extending our stay for over a month! The staff is incredible, and hosts/owners have now become family of ours. The stay is comfortable, clean, beautiful, not to mention inexpensive. Spacious rooms, includes breakfast/water, daily cleaning, a beautiful pool overlooking the rice fields, AND their restaurant on site is absolutely delicious, authentic and inexpensive. We ate here almost every day, got to know their entire family who hangs out and helps at the Homestay, and they were constantly going out of their way to get us off menu items at the market that we were interested in. Our laundry always came back smelling great, folded nicely. We were so sad to leave when our time was up that we took pictures and wrote a heartfelt letter with a gift. They go out of their way to make sure their guests are safe and happy, and provide guidance and opportunities for activities and cultural exploration/understanding of Bali. You can easily rent a scooter here to explore the area. Is this a 5 star resort? No, and it does not advertise as one. Just as anything, some things are not perfect. But the magic is real here! Anyone who has left a bad review has unrealistic expectations or does not understand the true spirit and nature of this island, its accommodations and people. This is a real, unpaid review. 

We stay only 1 night, we cancle because is so many geckos and insects, we accepted the cancellation costs but they didn't want to give us a refund. Stuff is very nice but owner no.

Yoga and Amy the couple who own this homestay have treated us like their own family. They treat all the guests with a pleasant smile. Their dishes were very authentic and delicious.

How can somebody not like this property🧐

Very nice wooden house in rice fields and close to everything in Ubud you want to go to. Apart from that the nicest hosts and staff you will meet in your life. We felt very much welcome and at home. Thank you very much for everything. We’re leaving Bali with a full heart.
