EVERYTHING. JJ was the best host ever. Set up some tours for us and gave us information about the area, etc. He made a big difference in our experience. All the staff was great. Was having problem keeping the fire going one night and even though it was after hours one of the staff went and cut up some wood into small pieces to solve the problem.

De tenten zijn van alle gemakken voorzien en je hebt veel privacy. De hottub en braai maken de ervaring compleet. Het personeel is enorm behulpzaam. Met een beetje geluk zie je impalas en springbokken op het terrein.

De omgeving, de rust alleen de vogels op de achtergrond. De tent was top ingericht met keukentje, badkamer, jacuzzi en braai! Echte glamping feeling. De eigenaar was zeer vriendelijk en dacht met ons mee om onze experience helemaal top te maken. We mochten later uitchecken zodat we in de ochtend nog op stokstaartjes safari konden.

Dat je helaas moest betalen voor het hout om te stoken (zowel voor de bbq als voor de jacuzzi)

The ambiance is great at this place. You’ve got your tent with all necessary facilities with an amazing view! (Most are looking directly over the lake). A nice addition are the firepits - you can buy braai packets at the reception. The area has many groups of antilope species and you’re free to walk around a bit, definitely advisable. Also recommended is the meerkat safari - knowledgable guide regarding the wildlife and fantastic views of the area.

It wasn’t really geared for international travellers. None of the little toiletries like soap. As it was self cater you had to do quite a bit of shopping and if you wanted things like a salad or meat rub, you had to buy way more than you needed and leave it behind, unlike local visitors.

Did not have breakfast

Main gate not working. Meaning you as the guest had to get out of your car to open and close the gate. One of the days it was also raining meaning you got wet as well

The location is magnificent with stunning views, sounds of nature and tranquility. The staff is very friendly and helpful. It’s great you can pre-order your braai, breakfast and wood, all delivered to your glamping tent.

We were staying in August, the nights are pretty chilly. The accommodation is well kitted out for colder days with a wood burner and electric blanket. In the morning it was fresh, but if you quickly get the burner going again it is super cosy and warm in no-time.

HotTube wurde lange nicht heiß

We had a wonderful stay! The indoor fireplace was absolutely perfect during the very cold weather and made the room feel warm and cosy. The breakfast and braai packs were exceptional—absolutely delicious—and the excellent location made it so convenient to get to all the places we needed to visit.

Really enjoyed staying in the camp with a beautiful view over the lake and seeing the mountains, nice if you use the hot tub and braai. Our host Alfred did a great job in making us feel welcome and supported us during the stay!

Es war einfach traumhaft!!

Leider war der Boden an manchen Stellen dreckig und und war das Pool Wasser auch nicht geheuer… und es war auch sehr niedrig. Gefühlt wäre es bis zum Bauchnabel gegangen.

The privacy and layout of the tent

De locatie, met uitzicht op de bergen en meertje. Heerlijk rustig zonsopgang, ondergang. Ook de braai (pakket van daar) was heel leuk en lekker (met marsmallow toe)

Het was echt wel koud in juli als de zon onderging. Met de elektrische deken was het in bed lekker warm, maar er buiten brrr zelfs met de kachel.

Mooie tent, compleet, super uitzicht. Elektrische dekens. Braai bij de tent. Personeel behulpzaam en vriendelijk. Mooi terrein, er lopen wat impala’s rond, soms een kudu.

Keuken wel heel klein, één extra kast zou handig zijn want je kan in het woon/ keuken deel echt niets kwijt, onhandig omdat het self catering is, als je zelf kookt is het handig als je ook ruimte hebt om dingen op te ruimen. Bij ons was het erg koud, de houtkachel helpt wel iets maar geeft niet voldoende warmte om de tent goed te verwarmen.

De safari tent was fantastisch, het uitzicht en snachts de sterrenhemel, onbetaalbaar. En de rust is fantastisch

De magische sterrenhemel maakt het verblijf helemaal af. De tent is compleet ingericht met goede bedden. Vanaf het terras zie je impala's, springbokken en kudu's. De hottub en het braaipakket maakten ons verblijf helemaal af.

Initial communication message somewhat misleading. I replied to the " Whatsapp only number" only to find out the following day that the number did not work and the alternative number had to be used for requests etc. Tents could be cleaner (inside cupboards, floor)

Decent size tent for a family of 4 adults. Tent looked out over the dam so good water and mountain views. Comfortable beds.

Fire wood given to use was wet so it was ineffective. Had to then buy charcoal.

Perfect location , our accommodation was on the lake, lots of animals walking by - it was a great stay.

Zodra we het park binnenreden, zagen we kudu’s en springbokken wat een leuk begin was. Onze tent was buiten verwachting en beschikte over alles wat we nodig hadden, en het uitzicht was nog veel en veel beter dan verwacht. De leukste ervaring qua accommodatie op de Garden Route! Ook Alfred was enorm behulpzaam en vriendelijk bij de receptie! Het was ook fijn dat de tenten ver uit elkaar stonden, zo had je geen last van de buren.

There was nobody in reception when we arrived. But the tent was unlocked.

The electric blanket in the lower bunk bed did not work. We vacated the tent on 6th as there was a leak in the tent and it was raining heavily and very cold. I tried contacting Africamps to inform them but could not get hold of them.

Africamps se whatsapp inligting is uitstekend. Die hot tub en lekker stap in die mooie omgewing was hoogtepunte!

Coole Unterkunft im Zelt. Alles da, was man braucht, inkl. Holz für ein Feuer. Frühstückskiste wird morgens ans Zelt geliefert und ist gigantisch gefüllt. Gleiches mit der Grillkiste. Kurze Distanz zu vielen sehenswertem Dingen. Das eine oder andere Tierchen schaut auch beim Zelt vorbei.

Die nahe Straße ist sehr lärmintensiv und stört den Eindruck, dass man weit draußen in der Natur ist.

Die Lage ist phantastisch. Es ist sehr ruhig und friedlich, die Springböcke laufen um das Zelt herum und man ist dennoch recht schnell an tollen Ausflugszielen.

Prachtig uitzicht en comfortabele tent. Veel activiteiten in de omgeving zoals wijnproeverij, stokstaartjes safari en struisvogeltour. Fijn dat je ingrediënten voor braai en ontbijt kunt bestellen.

Tents are very comfortable. Great, really great beds, soft and heated!. Cosy living and a great shower. Easy to get to and check-in is very easy. Friendly hosts. Views over the mountains are beautiful. Oudtshoorn is just around the corner.

Location is so, so. within the camp there are some antelope but that is about it. No options to walk around or do anything. It is a great base to venture from to other activities. We chose it for the meerkat safari but were unfortunate with the weather. Nothing you can do. After booking, you are contacted via Whatsapp through their company account. Great for providing info, but do not expect anyone to reply to questions you ask in that chat. Utensils in kitchen a bit sparse. Perfect for a night, but for longer stays with self-catering, I think it could be a bit more.

De locatie en het concept zijn super! Hele mooie ervaring gehad. Ondanks het onvriendelijke personeel, wel een aanrader.

Het personeel viel erg tegen. Erg onvriendelijk en zelfs brutaal. Niet klantvriendelijk. Ook kloppen de prijzen die ze van te voren aangeven voor het kopen van het hout niet. Hout voor de braai is R80,- i.p.v. R50,- en hout voor de hot tube is R50,- i.p.v. R40,-. Nog steeds niet duur, maar wel goed om te weten.

Génial de séjourner dans ces grandes tentes confortables. S’endormir avec les bruits de la nature. Expérience magique pour les enfants ! Personnel très réactif et disponible.

Sehr schöne Lage mit herrlicher Sicht, Zelt und Einrichtungen in sehr gutem Zustand. Unbedingt mit Hot Tub buchen, super Sache. Meerkat-Tour absolut zu empfehlen. Sehr gutes und hilfsbereites Personal bom Manager über Reception bis Reinigungspersonal!

Our first time glamping and everything was perfectly provided. The service was excellent, including delivery of breakfast and braai ingredients, which were very tasty. The night sky was absolutely stunning, filled with countless stars. We also had a fantastic safari with a very friendly ranger who explained a lot along the way. We would love to come back!

Location is great and the fact that walk all around the reserve is really nice. We saw tons of different buck on foot as well as from our tent deck. All amenities are fantastic and the shower pressure is certainly impressive.

Swimming pool needs a bit of an upgrading, as it’s sadly been left to deteriorate.

Prachtige ligging, alle tenten staan ruim uit elkaar waardoor je vanuit je tent geen andere tent kan zien. Handig dat je een braai- en ontbijtpakket kan bestellen, zodat je niets moet meenemen.

Wunderschöne Unterkunft in toller landschaftlicher Lage. Wir kommen gerne wieder! Tolles Team :-)

Die neuen Luxuszelte sind sehr komfortabel, immer wieder gerne! Frühstück und Abendessen von der Unterkunft war auch sehr gut und ausreichend.

Leider keine Safari direkt in dem Reservat möglich.

Wir hatten das Zelt Nummer 15 mit einem Hot Tub. Es war wunderbar! Luxuriös und an einen schönen Lage. Ein warmes Bad und Sternenhimmel.-was gibt es schöneres. Frühstückskorb wurde ins Zelt geliefert und war liebevoll angerichtet. Sehr ruhige Unterkunft Wunderbar als Ausgangspunkt für Ausflug zu den Höhlen, Meerkatzen oder einer Straußenfarm

Eine wunderschöne sehr besondere Unterkunft in der Nähe von Oudtshoorn! Es ist so schön, dass wir gar nicht gehen wollten. Wenn du überlegst, diese Unterkunft zu buchen, DO IT. Sternschnuppen schauen auf der Terrasse, entspannen im Whirlpool, grillen mit Aussicht… werden wir nie vergessen!

The size of the unit, aircon and the modern finishes.

I expected with the price you pay per night; you will have sufficient coffee for 3 mornings, also milk 500ml not creamer, the unit will be serviced or at least the beds made and dustbins emptied. A bag of wood would also be nice.

Es war einfach ein Traum, die Tiere von der Terrasse aus beobachten zu können

Eine sehr tolle, außergewöhnliche Unterkunft. Es war einer unserer schönsten Aufenthalte auf unserer Rundreise durch Südafrika. Dir Zelte sind sehr sauber und der Gastgeber sehr bemüht!

Wir hatten ein Zelt mit hot tube (Nr. 17), kleiner Küche und Grill, Zelt war sauber und Geschirr alles da das benötigt wird; Bad völlig in Ordnung (kein Fön) lt. Vermieter ist das Zelt noch relativ neu, ist mit Schiebetür und einer Tür zum Zusperren ausgestattet.

Vermieter war anfangs ein wenig unfreundlich, ist aber nach ein paar Gesprächen freundlicher geworden. Holz für den Grill und den hot tube musste man extra dazu kaufen (gab es aber direkt an der Rezeption). Gemeinschaftspool war sehr verschmutzt (eine Reinigung war anscheinend gerade im gange).

Sehr nette Betreuung, gute Ausstattung, kuschelige Bettwäsche, man hat sich auch wirklich sehr bemüht, die defekte Toilettenspülung umgehend zu reparieren! Alles da, was es braucht und es gemütlich zu haben!

Da es gewittert hat konnten wir „the hot tube“ leider nicht nutzen - aber dafür kann niemand etwas. Der allgemeine Poolbereich wirkte ein wenig ungeliebt, auch der Betreiber sieht das so.
