I didn't like the fact that they don't have iron for the guest to iron there close,so I had to repeat same pants I was wearing when I got there,I also didn't like the fact that you only get one towel, i used same towel to shower when I get there and in the morning too

IT was past 10 and we were talking a bit too loud and the host husband switched off our electricity instead of talking to us. I found that a bit rude and childish.

Very cold. I sleep well in cold temperatures though, but after a shower it would be nice to have some heat. Tiny little heater on the wall was for the birds.

I would definitely recommend booking a separate unit if you enjoy your space, even in a room with a few beds, it can be quite tight if you have too many guests. Otherwise, it meets all expectations for a bush lodge - rustic charm. The shower / bathroom was a little small, and the set-up is made to fit a few people, but definitely not in a luxurious way. It can be a tight fit, so book separately to enjoy it more. I didn't really like the room with a double bunk bed and single bed in the kitchen area, I didn't experience all rooms - but this set up was definitely not for me. Best to book a double bed + separate kitchen.

I would definitely book here again, I have recommended it to friends too! Falling to sleep with lions roaring in the background and waking up to them in the morning was just the most delightful experience!

Reviewed Mar 29, 2026Cangos Rest was the perfect spot to explore Oudtshoorn. The balcony was the perfect spot to relax and watch the sunset behind the mountains. Waking to the sounds of Lions roaring from the wildlife park next door was a highlight. The complex had secure parking and a small pool to cool off. Family villa spacious and private ( parents in a separate room from the kids)
Basic accomodation but very neat and clean. Perfect for what we needed.
