The location was ideal and the town itself made for a nice relaxing experience. The Breakfast was sumptuous offering a wide choice of delicacies
The room was,and little dated but tgat said it was clean and the room was spacious
Lovely staff , good breakfast and excellent location.
Room could have been nicer , creaking floorboard every time walked across the room . I think the hotel in general could do with a refresh . Some parts seem a bit run down in places.
Proximity to where I needed to be
So dated ,looks like they are struggling to keep it going

The building is amazing, tired and dated but spectacular none the less. The staff were professional and very friendly
Nothing really all good. The room we had was up at the top but once there worth the climb
Spacious, clean, comfortable
The staff were excellent the bed was so large and comfortable.
Room 11 was fantastic and ideal for us.
The staff were lovely, welcoming, helpful
Staff Breakfast
Starting to look tired and outside spaces need attention
Staff was very friendly and helpful, Breakfast was amazing Pity the parking is away from the hotel and you had to walk with all your luggage but would definitely stay again
The car parking
The location was superb - right in centre of Knaresborough AND it had free parking facilities. Also had a lovely lounge with games/books where guests can relax. Very helpful, welcoming, knowledgeable host who recommended an excellent restaurant for evening meal. Delicious well cooked tasty vegi and meat breakfast.
One niggle… The central heating wasn’t working and so had to have a portable oil heater. Room just a little jaded ( tired net curtains/paint work old on windows) - needs a cash input to make it more appealing.- could be a fantastic boutique hotel with a makeover.
The homemade granola and breakfast in general were great, the grand living room downstairs was lovely and our room surpassed our expectations.
Nothing!
Location, car parking.
Bathroom, very noisy.
Locality to the centre
The amount of stairs
Fabulous breakfast and lovely, friendly staff.
I wasn't sure how to access the hotel when I arrived but someone soon appeared to help me out.
We had a very smooth check-in, there were very clear instructions before we got there and got a space in their car park (there was lots of room). We loved the decor and style of this hotel, it was a bit like staying in a vintage shop. We stayed in the Apple room, which was huge and surpassed all expectations. We had a lovely cooked breakfast in the morning, it was very nice that they were able to cater for veggie and vegan.
Breakfast presented an excellent selection and freshly prepared options. Friendly staff. Two chairs in the room. A lovely lounge to use as needed. Stairwell was tastefully decorated on orchard theme. Parking was easy and convenient. Great location minutes’ walk from the market place and Castle.
Bed was a thin mattress on a solid divan. Decor around fire doors felt a little tired.
Friendly staff, comfortable room, excellent breakfast. Close to Knaresborough town centre. Free off road parking. Recommended
We had a room at the back, and although the Outlook was not particularly attractive, it was quiet. The rooms on the road side are likely to be noisy.
Very comfortable room, lovely welcome and great breakfast!
Weather was too hot! No-one's fault of course, and you did supply a room fan to be fair. Parking a little tricky to find as it's not through the main arch but down an alley to the side.
Good location and a spacious room.
It looked a little rundown from the outside.
Excellent breakfast and parking on site.
TV reception Instant coffee in rooms, our preference would be nespresso.
Breakfast and general cleanliness
Arrival
I didn't stay personally - but both colleagues were disappointed with the quality of the accommodation. For the star rating, it didn't live up to the expectation.

Staff were ultra friendly
Very dated for the star rating. Shower unclean. Forgot about twice at breakfast and had to leave after waiting over an hour for food. Could not get in touch with staff prior to stay.
Location.
Cleanliness friendly staff Amazing dinning room and breakfast Closeness to all amenities in Knaresborough
On the top floor so too many steps to get to our room on a daily basis
Comfortable bedroom, great breakfast, friendly staff.
Hotel was closed between 1-4pm - we would have liked to have been able to leave suitcases. All it needed was a note that we could do this.
The room was well set out and very clean, with the same said for the bathroom. The mattress was very bouncy but we had a comfortable sleep nevertheless. Breakfast was good with a large selection to choose from. Overall a very pleasant stay and would use again without hesitation.
Location was good, nice clean rooms.
Lovely period building. Spacious. Good parking at rear. Great staff. Great breakfast. Fantastic close proximity to Market Square, Castle and walking down to river and viaduct.
We were on top floor, but no lift. But not a major problem. We were at the front of the building and the road is quite noisy until 10.30, made worse by hot weather and window open + idiots racing their motorbikes at silly speeds from the traffic lights and cars with over noisy exhausts Despite it being a 30mph speed limit! This is not the fault of the hotel.
Very good breakfast.
No parking on road in front of hotel and luggage has to be carried from car park - about 100 yards from car round to hotel back door.
Clean, well kept, homely
Nothing
Nice, light room. A little self-contained flat off the main road, which was convenient - and felt connected to the town.
Location excellent breakfast good nice choices large comfortable room
Not keen hotel closed from 12.00 till 4 pm Felt decor was tired bathroom needs a revamp . Thought was expensive.
Great location with just a two minute walk into the centre of Knaresborough. We had the family room in the rear courtyard and so it was lovely and peaceful. Easy check in. Great breakfast with a choice of cooked breakfasts. Staff where all very pleasant.

I loved the little touches like the board games in the room, the reasonably priced mini bar and the nice living room that everyone had access to. The staff were particularly friendly during every interaction I had with them. I liked the vibe of the rooms and the fact that they were on the orchard theme, and decorated in a really nice way.
I couldn’t find a hairdryer in the room so that would have been good but it was fine without. The shower was a bit old but did the job.
The Orchard Club Hotel is exceptional in all aspects from booking in to the quality of accommodation, food, comfort etc. The owner is both very welcoming and helpful.
All was exceptionally good.
Breakfast was excellent. Much better to be served than to partake in the scrum of many hotel options. There were additional "snacks" on offer in our room. Although the room was over the main road the double-glazing was effective and we slept well. It was a short walk to the town centre. Lovely view over the valley and the viaduct from the castle park.
Because of our "advanced years", we would have preferred a walk-in shower to one over the bath. We realise that in an older building this is sometimes difficult to arrange, but if they are thinking of some modifications ....
Spacious clean room
A little bit old fashioned
Clean, tidy and spacious room. Fan was much appreciated during this heatwave. Good breakfast, very helpful staff. Central location suited our needs . There was a fridge (mini bar) in the room which was useful for keeping our water cool. Plenty space for private parking and away from the road.
The hotel is on a busy road, traffic was noisy even at night. Also very busy for getting across during the day, it made our holiday stay feel a bit thrashing rather than relaxing and although that isn't really the hotels fault we probably wouldn't return for that reason unfortunately.
Great location, excellent parking. The staff were very friendly we received a free upgrade to a very comfortable room with everything you needed. We would recommend this hotel
Everything
We liked the breakfast and the staff.
We booked for 4 nights but left after the 1st night. The road noise in our room was intolerable, the bathroom was disappointing and our room had unlocked access to and from the next room due to a fire escape route. The manager was kind enough to refund us for the other 3 nights which was good.
Staff were polite and helpful Room was comfortable Car parking s real bonus Tea/coffee making facilities were good Fridge in toom
Shower wasn't up to standard and water pressure was difficult
The property is in a perfect location, by the High Street, not far fron Market Square. The breakfast was very good, good selection of hot food to order and cereals, fruits and juices that you could help yourself to. Staff very attentive and property very clean. We had a ground floor room which was spacious and a huge, very comfortable bed.
Can't think of anything.
Friendly staff, parking, good breakfast
Tiny room. 4 pm check in.
Cleanliness Big Bedroom massive bed Excellent staff
The outside is a little uninspiring
Mycket bra frukost!
Warm and clean.Lovely staff.
Road noise from temporary traffic lights
Bags of character, easy private parking, and a very comfortable room - i slept so well! Breakfast great too and service excellent
Cleanliness, large room. Polite and well turned out staff.
Some road noise
Breakfast was amazing. Lady in the kitchen was lovely. Food was exceptional 👌
High step into bathroom was quite dangerous. No bin in bedroom
Central and free parking
Nothing
Location was close to market square. Bed eas very comfortable & big. Breakfast was good & plenty of choice.
Internet connection was hut & miss which affected the TV.
Not far to work into the centre of everything
Bathroom was on corridor I didn’t realise when I booked
Lovely breakfast
Excellent breakfast All the pictures and plates on the wall
A simply stunning and beautiful sitting room
Lovely hotel. Loved the decor and feel of the hotel. Had its only personal touch and style. Rooms a desent size, clean and tiny. Mini bar in the hotel room which is handy for qhen you need a drink after a long day exploring. Great price to which included a great breakfast. We will defiantly stay again.
Nothing really. Hotel was great
Location was great. Breakfast was lovely. Attentive staff
We were on top of building. My legs found the climb hard & it was a seperate bathroom with a step up that i struggled with. A grab rail would be useful
Lovely hotel. A very friendly welcome and a great team. Comfortable rooms and a delicious breakfast with plenty of choice. Parking on site. Knaresborough is lovely, plenty of restaurants and bars. Walkable into the centre. Nice touch having a good mini bar. Comfy bed.
Rooms can be noisy at the front. Very minor point.
How close it was to the town. The food was great, the staff were lovely.
The shower could have been bigger because there was plenty of room spare in the bathroom and the mattress wasn’t very comfortable.
Very friendly, clean and welcoming
Breakfast a little over done
The breakfast was acceptable and the location was good.
This should not be classed as a Hotel and I certainly would not have awarded it a 4-star status. It is more of a B&B. It does not offer the facilities of a Hotel. Whilst I appreciate the building itself is very old and therefore adjustments are limited, there are numerous things that could be done to improve the guest experience. The poorly maintained 'Hotel' entrance is at the rear of the building and closed between 12.00 and 4.00pm. There is no 24/7 on- site reception or staff - you are told there is a number you can ring if you need help/assistance. The hotel does not offer lunch or evening meals and does not offer any other facilities you would associate with a Hotel. The car park is two doors down at the rear of what appears to be a disused building. We stayed in a Superior Double which was situated at the front of the building, on the busy main high street next to traffic lights. There was constant traffic 24 hour traffic noise. Although beneficial at night to block out the traffic noise, the windows did not open at all, which would have been useful to allow fresh air into the room during the day. A fan was provided. The room was large, but the bathroom very small and did not have storage space for toiletries. The plug in the basin sink didn't work. The shower was small and did not have a grab handle for safety, or a tray to put your personal soap/gels. There were strict breakfast times with breakfast being served until 10.00am. If a cooked breakfast was required you were told that you needed to be in the dining room for 9.15am. After that a continental breakfast was available. The cooked breakfast options were good and varied. The continental breakfast consisted of the usual juices, fruits and cereals. I didn't see any pastries on display or a toaster should you wish to make your own toast but I imagine these may have been available on request. The dining room, tableware etc.
Breakfast was lovely.
Wardrobes...wasn't one
Staff were fantastic.
Pricey but think that’s true of most of Knaresborough.
Location and parking
Late check in Time
Nice big room, reasonable breakfast area
They charged £25 for getting there after 2230, (2250) which is an outrageous amount to charge. It would actually have been cheaper to stay at a nicer spa hotel up the road.
Everything was perfect from start to finish
Nothing
Good menu for breakfast we had a full English lovely. The room was very spacious, very clean, coffee and biscuits mini bar dressing gown The bed was very comfy, also a large fan was in the room Everything you wanted

Lovely old building Large bedroom
Location perfect. Staff really lovely and friendly
Location was excellent. We stayed 2 nights our room was spacious and clean, breakfast was excellent, great choice, and the cooked food was very hot and plentiful.

Excellent location, 3rd time staying Bit noisy early morning as room overlooking main road
Bathroom opposite room
Lovely breakfast ,lovely staff, lovely place
Freshly made breakfast
None
Breakfasts excellent. Bed comfortable.
Prior notice that we would be on top floor, with several flights of stairs would have been appreciated! I am 82 years old and I did not need several flights of stairs to climb every time we left the property. A lock on the bathroom door is needed.
Staff were excellent. Rooms really well thought out , lounge area was really lovely addition
Nothing!
Beautiful room and great location
Excellent breakfast. I would thoroughly recommend staying here.

It was very spacious, clean, staff were very friendly and couldn’t do enough for you, the breakfast was delicious! Also great as there was room to park the car
The mattress was a little too soft for me… but that’s just my personal preference due to back problems
It is in a very convenient location for the town centre bars and restaurants and near to the river . The property is very clean , rooms are comfortable and has everything you need for a short stay ie : kettle, fridge and snacks to purchase if you get peckish
Lovely room, very comfy bed. Breakfast was really good
the pressure on the shower was really poor
I liked the decor. It is homely. The staff were nice and friendly.
Good breakfast and nice staff. Comfy room
Dripping noise all night
Location ideal room was lovely staff warm and friendly comfy bed slept well food was excellent would stay again for sure
Only negative was waiting along time for breakfast ought to be a quicker service food made to order but just needed to be quicker really
We had a large ground floor twin room which was perfect. Breakfast was lovely.
Nothing
Loved everything but our shower was very old I have thick hair so Spennithorne of time getting shampoo out as not very powerful BUT I can't gUlt staff for trying.g to rectify us Nd moving us if we needed . Its very old property and the room was superb so i managed 😀
Staying in an historic building with bags of character, big comfortable rooms, lovely staff and great breakfasts...so the floorboards creak, the place is 300 years old man! A lot of thought has gone into making the Orchard Club an 'experience', I would recommend it as a place to stay.
Not being able to check in before 4pm
Location, friendly staff, good breakfast
NA
Location is great with plenty of parking. The breakfast was excellent with lovely staff too. Our bed was extremely comfortable
The water in the shower was hot enough but the pressure was poor.
The property was very attractive. The bedroom had a comfortable bed, two armchairs and a table, a mini bar and well stocked coffee & tea facilities. The breakfast was wonderful
Our bedroom faced on to a busy street, so there was some noise, although earplugs were provided
Location was perfect. Breakfasts were excellent. Loved the lounge. Shower was superb. Spacious bedroom. Friendly efficient staff. Fridge in room. Although we didn’t need all the snacks and drinks that were available in the room, they were not overpriced.
We were in Room 5. The bed was a superking which is always a bonus but the mattress although acceptable would benefit from an upgrade.
Excellent location and a great breakfast. Staff are very friendly and helpful.
Bathroom was fine but a little dated.
Excellent breakfast. Nice room. Comfy bed. Parking. Location
Bathroom could do with an update.
Convenient for the town centre and free parking. Excellent breakfast with a wide range of options. Complimentary eye masks .
The building is shut from 12am to 4pm with no ability to check in, leave luggage or use the toilets if you have travelled. No staff on site at all, no night cover either in case of an emergency! No explanation of exactly what the emergency procedures are! It is a very old building with a clearly heightened fire risk. For this reason, we probably wouldn't stop on the top floor again.
