Great environment, lovely and clean.
Lovely big bed, room was very spacious and clean. Bathroom was clean too
Family suite was good sized, with nice little lounge. Good breakfast and helpful staff. Really quiet, although not sure if it was busy as we managed to park in the small car park.
It was a very long walk from reception to the room with lots of stairs, not good for those with mobility aids. Could not get the shower to be anything other than cold, and due to the walk to reception could not easily ask for help.
Very comfortable bedroom. All staff friendly and helpful.
Very clean and the bed was comfy. I stayed for one night and wish I was staying for longer!
My only critism was the slow drainage of the shower and sink.
The room was very comfortable and clean. The staff very friendly and helpful.
Break
Staff very good, room big and clean. Nice modern hotel with very good food.
Having to drive 6 hours to get to it.
The only good thing about the room was the way it was divided into 3 separate rooms so that myself and my wife could have our own room and the kids could have their own separate rooms.
All the beds were uncomfortable. To state it is a "modern hotel" is a bit of an exaggeration when the fixtures and fittings were so old. Cracked sink in the bathroom. Toilet not flushing properly and the shower was not great either. Terrible nights sleep was had by all!! Evening meal wasn't the greatest. I don't know if it was because it was a bank holiday weekend, but the staff just stayed at the front and stared at you while you were eating, almost as if they were trying to hurry you up. I had the burger for a main and it was ok. My son had a steak which was alright but the chunky chips were soggy. My wife had the roast which was awful!! Massive vein running the length of the beef and the yorkshire pudding was like a hockey puck!! Gravy was also non existent in the tiniest pot you could ever imagine too. Dessert was ok though. Breakfast didn't fair much better with overdone eggs and everything else pretty much tasteless! Having said that, my son's pancake stack looked pretty good.
Exceeded expectations. Room was big, clean, modern and very comfortable. Air conditioning a bonus.
Loved everything.
Great stay for one night woth good food and service
Nothing
Good sized room, comfortable bed.
Parking was limited.
We have used the hotel several times, usually as an overnight stay. The rooms were comfortable and clean, the staff were always helpful and friendly. The food and drink was always very good and the waiting stall were always very helpful.
2 points: Car parking can be bothersome because we have at times had to use a public car park at the rear of the hotel because their overspill park is open only sometimes. In the dining room many little fruit flies are buzzing around
I thought the property was lovely clean lovely breakfast
Very confusing about the room hire if you wanted to get in early. I was told it was £10 an hour Originally we were going in at 11am we go there a little bit earlier so I asked if we could get in at 10. So I assumed it would be 20 pounds Ended up getting charged 35 pounds In total 55 pounds da come out of my account . I was a little disheartened. I had already paid 102 for the room
Comfortable bed, lovely bathroom facilities
If you could provide the full length mirror to the other side if the room with plenty day light. Us ladies need natural light for makeup application
Staff food
Room bath room got very wet when having a shower .
Very clean, staff were friendly
It's hard to not like anything
We stayed in the king suite which was very spacious - an ideal choice as we were visiting for a wedding and the extra space to get ready was appreciated. The room was very clean and we did not hear any noise from other guests or outside the property which is always a plus for us as we like to get a good nights sleep. The mattress was extremely comfy and the bedding was of a lovely quality. The bathroom was spacious with a bath and walk in shower, and also very clean. We had lunch in the bar on the second day - the staff were friendly and service was extremely speedy. The food was tasty and good value. Both receptionists that we spoke with on the Friday and Sunday were also very helpful and polite. The aircon in the room was excellent.
There was a sign in the room saying that they prefer guests to reuse towels if possible - which we agree with - however the sign stated that if we wanted them changed to leave them on the floor. Pretty standard. As we had a wedding to get ready for on the second day and the towels were very wet from the night before, we left them on the bathroom floor for house keeping to collect. However unfortunately they simply hung up our wet towels on the back of the door which was not ideal. I think if you pay a premium for a room, clean towels is not a big ask.
Staff were great, polite, hard working
The room
The morning stuff at the receptionist, I arrived before check-in and I send them an email too, they wanted me to change me 60 Euro extra to enter before in my room. And the bfast i pay before and when you go for bfast is with the menu and is cheaper from that you pay .
Lovely room, superb breakfast and excellent staff
Nothing
Very friendly staff on reception and the restaurant. Huge bedroom for 3 adults and comfy beds. Bathroom was great with plenty of space & very good shower.
It was a comfortable stay.
Location was in town.
Comfortable stay and good value for money
Location in town not great
Lovely, peaceful deluxe room. Lovely light and rooftops - very private. Air con easy to work. Food enjoyable. Car park.
Food pricey for quality and quantity. Some persistent banging in the morning through the wall - repair people? Lift not working second day Trays too heavy. Get something lighter to carry for both the staff and the customers Scaffolding still up since last stay months ago?

Our room was huge and clean and the dinner and breakfast in the restaurant were amazing. Great value for money!! Staff very helpful and willing to help.
Great value hotel, with parking onsite. Air-con was a lovely bonus. The room was clean & comfortable. Staff called before we arrived to check the details of our stay. The best bit was the breakfast - great menu choices and everything was freshly cooked and delicious (so lovely to have table service, instead of a buffet).
Clean, friendly staff, food good value
Location and noisy people outside in early morning
Lovely spacious bar & restaurant area mixing modern & traditional looks
Friendly, helpfull staff. Very clean room.
Lovely modern hotel in great location in Worksop. Staff were really friendly and the breakfast was very good. Will definitely stay here again
Nothing
The hotel was lovely. Clean and well located. The staff were friendly and the breakfast was brilliant. What more could you ask for. Will definitely be back.
There was nothing not to like.
The staff, the food, the room , the bar and the general attention to detail was spot on. I grew up in Worksop and I felt really proud that it boasts such a great hotel.
Clean, roomy and modern. Friendly staff. Nothing too much trouble. 2nd visit after being so impressed with the place the first time. Restaurant serves amazing food and it’s fantastic value. Bar prices are reasonable too.
Nothing.
Spotlessly clean room and nicely decorated with kettle, tea and coffee too. Pillows were awful though, way too hard so struggled to get comfy in the bed. Sleep was average. Not perfect, not awful.
Long wait for breakfast and came well overcooked. The bacon was rock solid.
Room was clean but tired around the edges
Customer service was great.
The room facilities. Sewage smell coming out of the toilet in our room. We were given another room but this room has no hot water in the bathroom. So we have to go to another room to have our shower.
Nice staff, big rooms .
They Put us in a room with an A/C that made an intermittent drilling noise every five minutes, had to go back and forth to the front desk seven times for the night porter to attempt to stop it, eventually moved rooms by midnight. No hot water in showers and water pressure very light. No shampoo or conditioner provided. Only provided one large bath towel in room when there is two people. No one told us how to get in to the building after 10pm, we arrived back at 10.30pm and all outside doors locked from the side we had entered, had to walk around the other side of the building and swipe card 10times for it to work…. Would have been nice to be informed of this at Check in. Awful stay, would not recommend.
Clean modern and comfortable staff polite and friendly.
Need slip mat in shower. I know I could have asked but already got in shower . And taking £25 for potential damages ? Never had that before
Location - food - people - absolutely beautiful hotel defo would recommend
Rooms were very well equipped and the aircon was a blessing in the crippling heat
Ok the room had air con which was good. I had an issue with the hot water as it seemed to run out early in the evening which was annoying.
The hot water running out then only luke warm the next day.
Everything was good
There were a lot of small steps in the reception area, which made it difficult for some people with walking difficulties to move around
Check in really smooth; room and bed comfortable, AC very welcome and tremendously effective. Dinner in the restaurant / bar really nice. All feels very new and clearly refurbished recently. Breakfast lovely and my comments below on the haphazard nature does not reflect the quality of the food but rather the inattention of a single member of staff. A special mention to the reception staff who facilitated a remote check-in for a fellow traveller who wasn't going to get to the Hotel before last check in time which helped us out enormously. Parking is available on site, on a first come - first served basis, but there is a really cheap public car park right behind the hotel which is free between 18:00 and 08:00. Set your SATNAV for 'Lead Hill' and it takes you to the back of the hotel and parking.
Breakfast delicious but all a bit haphazard. We were advised to book for the first morning. Arrived in the virtually empty restaurant at 0900, indicated our room and that we were booked in. Waitress then took us to a table and effectively abandoned us. After a lengthy delay I managed to catch her and ask if we could order? She again asked our room number and if we had reserved? No clear instructions and the menus reflected a priced list of foods. Not sure what was included in the B&B rate, decided to just roll with it, assuming the prices were for non-guests - our fault for not asking. Hot Water jug for tea empty, orange juice empty. All just felt a little flat, but when the food arrived it was fab. Following morning, same waitress but a slightly speedier service. We then witnessed a different waitress welcoming a couple to breakfast, take their room number and then explain what is included in their room rate (there is a cost ceiling on the itemised list apparently). We then understood the routine by osmosis and realised that the younger waitress simply wasn't very confident - or was just inexperienced?
Appreciated the cool air-conditioned room on a very hot day. Staff are friendly. Conveniently close to Clumber Park National Trust.
Quality of the breakfast and food at the restaurant is just standard fayre.
Very clean and today hotel and a very good standard of room and bar/restaurant area
Lack of parking on the hotel but big car park right next to it
High standard of room and food, pleasant staff.
Nothing
All the staff where kind and also very accommodating to my 4 year old daughter and the breakfasts she wanted etc, the room was lovely.
The parking situation but I know that can’t be helped. Was also hard to find where to park and went around in circles for ages.
Clean, tidy, great location
Bed too small
Luxurious rooms. Comfortable king sized bed. Clean and welcoming. The staff were very helpful and friendly.
Conveniently situated for our visit to the area. Exceptional staff.
It was all fine.
Our room and bathroom were pristine, the staff from check in to dining were very welcoming and accommodating.
Only a small onsite car park but there is a council carpark directly opposite so not really a big problem.
Gorgeous room with most comfortable king size bed. Friendly staff . Delicious food!
We can’t put anything negative … superb stay!
Good room very clean, good evening meal and breakfast nice staff
No do not disturb sign for door and housekeeping just walked in whilst we was asleep
Komfortabelt med aircondition på rommet.
Noe gammelt, slitt og umoderne, enkelte av de som jobbet der var lite vennlige og fleksible.
Good size, clean , comfortable rooms
Modern, clean, great staff
Rent og ryddig.
Litt «treg» betjening.

Stayed for just one night as a quick stopover, but we were very impressed. The hotel was clean and tidy, and all the staff were friendly and welcoming. As we had to leave early, breakfast was arranged early for us and delivered to our room, which was much appreciated. The food was lovely, and the room service was excellent. Would definitely recommend!
Everything.... location.... outside area.... parking ... very good
Seagulls on roof.....
Property was very clean and comfortable. We really enjoyed the breakfast.
Our room was at the front of the hotel facing a road with no fencing around to separate from the pavement. There was a very busy event while we were there so there were people standing outside very close to our window and some were sitting in front of the window. It was an extremely hot day but we had to close our windows and curtains in the middle of the day.
The property was very clean and excellently presented.
The room was very spacious and was very surprised that there was an air conditioning unit in both bedrooms and the sitting room which in the recent heatwave were very much needed. The breakfast was excellent and we ate in the restaurant the second evening and the food was fresh and very good my wife had a steak and it was cooked to perfection and very tender.
The room was comfortable and mostly clean. Very powerful shower over the bath. Staff were mostly pleasant.
The wooden surfaces in the room ( desk and bedside units) were sticky to the touch. On-site parking was denied, we had to use the adjacent council run car park, thankfully there was no charge between 6pm Saturday and 8am Monday.
Bed was comfortable, breakfast was good 👍

Staff are lovely and so helpful. Rooms are clean and have everything you need, even a fridge and ironing board which made me feel at home!
Couldnt use their second carpark but wasnt a problem as told us in advance so really not a didnt like!
The hotel had AC which is why we picked it at the last minute, as the inn we were originally staying at that night showed us a room that must have been 100 degrees when we walked in. The food was excellent - both dinners and breakfasts were well cooked, hot and obviously served to order. Value for money was amazing especially given the meal allowance for dinner. The room was large, comfortable with a huge bathroom. I would highly recommend as it was only about 15 minutes drive from Sherwood Forest visitors center which was our intended destination.
I have no complaints
Excellent, first rate, comfortable, staff friendly, aircon a gift!
Nice room. Air conditioning excellent
Nothing
Central location in Worksop. Very comfortable room with great bed. Quiet. Friendly and helpful staff. Good in room refreshments. Free car park if you get lucky and find a space.
Room was hot
Overall our stay was very good. Staff are very friendly. Very grateful for the fan. I loved the fact they gave you a sheet to use instead of the duvet. Drink prices were very reasonable. For the price we paid very good value for money. Breakfast was good.
Some of the rooms could do with a lick of paint and some touch ups. When walking to our room a few doors had what looked like punch holes in. We ordered the hot honey burger in the evening, chicken was very dry. For breakfast would have been nice to maybe have more selection on the table.
Everything was very clean
Nothing I didn’t like
We had a family suite. Perfect that we all had our own space Breakfast was amazing # fab choice / selection
Superb freshly cooked breakfast and dinner. Very friendly, helpful staff. Great value.
Nothing negative.
Centrally placed.
Some steps to dining area but otherwise there was a lift available to the rooms.
Great breakfast and location
Light over sink faulty Tv remote didn’t work. New batteries needed Bath plug faulty wouldn’t open fully so Bath filled up when showereing and had to be wedged open to drain Bedroom was the furthest room away from the bar/restaurant. Bedroom and corridor Door closers slammed doors closed, waking us up in the night.
Great location. Quiet at night and our exec room was air conditioned , fantastic during a heat wave!
Central location, really helpful staff and a secure place to store our bicycles
Lots of steps would make it difficult for some
The room was spacious, tidy and clean.
Clean, friendly & helpful staff, good bed and good size room
Shower in the bath. One receptionist was unable to phone a taxi for our journey
Clean rooms and good food
Nothing
Clean, decent size, car parking available. Lovely food.
The TV kept having a message pop up saying low space which was a little annoying
Great choice of breakfasts and super helpful staff
Good choice of breakfast from the menu and freshly cooked.
Nothing we didn't like.
Room was very comfortable, spacious, with a large double bed and ample tea and coffee supplies, Bathroom was clean with modern decor and good working facilities. Bedroom was well equipped with an aircon that more than dealt with the heatwave that was occurring outside the room.
The Lion breakfast was very nice but unfortunately my wife ordered poached eggs on toast which were a little disappointing. Eggs were overcooked and there appeared to be water on the plate. This was our only disappointment for the weekend other than building work to the outside of the hotel which only spoilt the facade but did not impact our stay in any other way.
The hotel was centrally located. The bed size and room were really great, as was the comfort with air-conditioning (noisy but worked) and nice bathroom. Room service was expensive but quick and efficient. Food was nice but portions were average. Their chips were really delicious. The pea thingy was strange and unidentifyable. Just serve straightforward peas. The lift was good.
The car park was convenient but I parked elsewhere as it was not well signed and had to pay twice. The scaffolding was off putting and the frontage (heart sink) but inside was surprisingly much better (cheap but clean modern meets oldy worldy). Floors were uneven and a trip hazard in several places (warning signs needed). This was probably due to parts of the building being very old and that was a good feature. Some of the staff were very nice (the guy who brought the food up) but others could have been more warm and welcoming. More info on how service worked would have been good. E.g. please sit down madam and I will come to your table and take your order shortly once you are settled. Help yourself to drinks from the buffet area. Overall a pleasant stay in a well located place, with great deluxe room.
Clean, comfortable, very quiet (even though it was Saturday night). I arrived mid evening and both the hotel car parks full, but nearby council car park was free until 8am the next morning, and I’m an early riser. My car was parked almost immediately below my bedroom window so felt safe. There was no air conditioning and whole of country in a heat wave, but a large fan allowed me to sleep very well.
Nothing
Big rooms and nice interior .
Air con was loud andaling a noise every 5 minutes like a grinding noise. Had to turn it off as was loud enough to keep you awake.
Staff were very friendly and loved the air con in the room on such a hot day. Beds comfy.
Nothing
Brilliant location, reasonably priced, large rooms with comfy beds, staff friendly and welcoming and a beautiful breakfast. The hotel throughout is very clean
Amazing staff, very comfortable, they had the air con on for us during this heatwave which was much appreciated
The staff make The Lion
Stayed here one night for a family wedding. Room was lovely, clean and modern bathroom. Breakfast was excellent and all staff were pleasant and helpful
Value for money and location
Asked for bed linen to be changed at 11am, told them we had left tag on door asking for room to be cleaned. came back at 4 and it was not done and told cleaners had gone home, they were told but was not done, receptionist said i will get you some clean linen but you will have to do it.
