Hotel Monticello Tagaytay

Not something i didn’t like but more of a suggestion for breakfast. Add more options for people with restricted dietary requirements (eg diabetes) or open the kitchen for ala carte orders.

Super loved the staff hospitality! Enjoyed the temp-controlled pool even on a rainy weekend. The location was also the best, a little far from the main busy area but still convenient to go to.

The breakfast choices were quite limited and the restaurant small. Also the rooms seem old and outdated.

a) bad damp smell in the room like someone just took off a smelly socks b) terrible maintenance. I wanted to get rid of a light in the room before sleeping , a person came up with a ladder and got the bulb off saying that was the solution c) the tv in the room was outdated

Though the property is dated, they manage to ensure that their facilities stay up to date and their service remain hospitable and excellent.

We tried to swim in the kiddie pool but unfortunately, the heating system is not working which made it uncomfortable.

The front desk staff were very nice and personable. Of special mention are Joane, Roby, Chin and Deni. Their wilingness to assist us is commendable. They even sent up a special treat as it was our wedding anniversary. We felt much welcomed. Thanks guys!

The airconditioning unit in our room was dripping water and had to be fixed twice. The second room booked for my parents had noticeable wall damage below the glass panel outside the shower area. It did not look like structural damage but was enough to cause initial concern

Clean and comfortable rooms. Good location in Tagaytay. Staff were generally accommodating. Nice place for a family stay. Overall, the hotel has a pleasant and relaxing setting.

The ₱300 charge for a small blood stain was understandable, but I felt embarrassed when it was mentioned at the front desk. It would have been better to handle this privately and discreetly. We booked two rooms on different floors, but the key cards could only access the assigned floor. Since we were one family group of 7, it was inconvenient to meet at the lobby whenever we needed to visit each other's rooms. The hotel was extremely quiet during our stay and felt a little lonely. Some soft ambient music or jazz in the common areas could make the atmosphere warmer and more welcoming.

The location is good, near SkyRanch and along the main road. The staff are very accommodating. Has a spacious parking area. We even enjoyed dipping in the pool while its raining due to Habagat.

The beds were comfortable and room was good for a family of 5.

The hotel is outdated, rooms air-conditioning and ventilation poor, mouldy smell in the room and bathroom. In room facilities very old and furniture also old.

The room facility like iron and the iron board, the shampoo and shower gel dispenser, besides the coffee and tea were not available in ther room. They had to be requested instead a standard items for a hotel room.

Checking process: staff could work a bit more and fill out the forms themselves; also, very passive-aggressive. You should make customers feel welcome. They have a coffee shop where they serve breakfast, but you can't have a proper coffee, cappuccino or caramel macchiato. Just brewed coffee. Also, the breakfast very poor for the price they charge. Not even option to have a juice.

The TV was not working in our room. We had nothing else to do while we were in the room. A staff came by checked the tv and said he will check and get back to is but he never returned.

The room was nice and it's exceptionally big. 2 single bed and 1 king bed are perfectly positioned and the area in between is still wide. The sheets smell good too.

The main reason for staying at hotel Monticello was for a birthday and family reunion. The hotel accommodated us perfectly. The staff were excellent and very helpful. Breakfast was excellent. The pool(s) were also very good. The hotel is pristine.

One evening I closed the curtains in our room and the entire left curtain fell from the ceiling. Two members of the maintenance team arrived and screwed the curtain track back up using the same too small screws into the same holes. Has it fallen down again yet?

We booked a family room for 4 and compared to other hotels, the room was big and comfy. Airconditioning, water heater and wifi were functioning. There was a heated lap pool and kiddie pool, although we werent able to swim. Buffet breakfast food was good. We spedically enjoyed the KTV at the 2nd floor and the food they served. The hotel location is excellent, very convenient, accessible to almost all the top restaurants, Sky Ranch and go to destinations in Tagaytay.. We enjoyed our stay. We’ll come back.

I really like the smell of the lobby as soon as you enter, it was very comforting and smells clean all the time. The room was big and has 4 beds which accommodate our family size. It has good functioning air-conditioning that provides comfort during our stay. The service was excellent and the staff were all polite and attentive to all our needs. Our rooms were always tidy and clean with fresh towels and refilled coffee and water each day, which makes it so nice to come back to and just relax after a day filled of exploring the area. The breakfast has varieties and taste good.

The pool is too deep and not that accessible for other elders to use. The shower head was broken, but still functioning. The hotel has no actual stairs, or I just did not see one? There was only a fire exit, but no way to get down on the lower ground during emergency as each door has no handles to go back inside.

Room is very good, clean and staff are very helpful, Breakfast is superb, Pool is vey clean, having a heated pool is added bonus. our whole stay is wonderful April 08-13, 2026. we celebrate our sons 23rd birthday in one of the function room, we are very satisfied, the staff prepared the function room and the food was excellent. Thank you very much.

We enjoyed our stays and planning to book again when we come back next year.

The surroundings and room was clean. From guard to all the staff were very friendly courteous and helpful.

Bathroom is clean but looks like it is not, they need to regroute their bathroom. Not so many choices for the buffet for breakfast. The fruits were not fresh.

Кроме того, полка для шампуня и мыла в душевой зоне расположена крайне неудобно (на расстоянии примерно 1–2 метра). В номере отсутствует мини-бар, при этом взимается депозит в размере 1000 бат, что представляется необоснованным. Завтрак не соответствует формату «шведский стол», а предоставляется по меню, что ограничивает выбор гостей. В день выезда персонал начинает беспокоить гостей уже с 11:00, несмотря на установленное время выезда в 12:00, что нарушает право гостей на полноценное использование оплаченного времени проживания.

The hotel staff are charming and hospitable. The vast foyer/lounge and reception area are very welcoming and beautifully arranged. The grounds are well kept and the hotel felt secure as there is a guard on duty at a gate house all the time. The room was a good size with a balcony at the front. There is an on-site cafe-restaurant who also provide room service.

The rooms are tired and beyond needing an upgrade. The furniture is worn and fraying and gives quite a different impression from the reception area. My balcony was at the front of the hotel and I was woken on my first morning by construction work going on outside my bedroom window. The biggest problem was the en-suite bathroom. Again, while it may have once been luxurious, now well past its sell-by date. The towels were very worn, thin and fraying. The extraction system was noisy and totally ineffective. The smell from the drains and/or the extraction vent was unbearable (actually nauseating.) if switched on it was less noticeable, but if switched off, the smell built up. As there was a glass wall between bathroom and bedroom, it wasn’t possible to leave the extraction on all night as it was controlled by the light switch, so impossible (for me) to sleep with light on. The food in the cafe was not great. I’d advise not paying for breakfast and eating elsewhere (there are options within walking distance.) I was due to return to this hotel but I cancelled my second stay and moved elsewhere. It took 2 weeks for the hotel to refund me, but eventually they did.
