Riad Belko

Riad pulito e ordinato, posizione eccellente, staff molto cortese, disponibile. Hamza N1

Struttura carina, colazione buona, posizione comoda e personale accogliente.

Situated in walking distance to old part of the city, in a quiet alley and nicely cool in the summer heat. The stuff showed great hospitality and help. We had a pleasant stay without any worries.

The reception by Hamza late in the evening was very nice (flight was late) and good communication during the stay too. Breakfast great (the egg served was amazing) good selection of fresh breads. The location is amazing! You need to take a short walk from where the car drops you. Looks very safe in the evening too.

The room, in the second floor, was a Superior one but: - the shelves are pending downwards so you can't store anything in it because it would fall down. - the toilet seat cover was not attached to the seat (picture attached) - was fixed the day after. - the bed sheets were very used as it had the original color on the border (red) and almost white in the middle. I asked for a changed and a much better one was given. - the room dusty - the shower was not fixed on the wall so for a lady to wash the hair with one hand is challenging. ** It is not their fault but: - guests making noise talking loud in one evening - even tho they have a terrace for this loud talks and laughs. - during breakfast ( with my mother) a guest opens his room in underwear - facing the ground floor (breakfast floor tables) -- That's the vibe

Everything was spectacular. Hamza greeted me at the road and helped me with my luggage, and was so kind during checkin. The room was wonderfully decorated and a great Moroccoan breakfast. I only stayed one evening, but everything was great, and the location was nice and quiet. Thank you again, Hamza!

Hamza who seemed to run the riad was very informative and helpful

We don't know if this is typical Riad standard, but we moved to Casablanca after a 6 night stay at the Belko and whilst only Three Star, it feels like a palace in comparison. It is also very substantially less expensive. The accommodation is extremely basic and the attention to detail is all but non-existent. The photos of the rooms on the websites are flattering in the extreme and do not include our "superior" double room. There is no "wardrobe" as listed in the itinerary, likewise there is no washing machine in the room/apartment. We accept that the building is old and not built for large Westerners, but be aware that you are taking your life in your hands each time you use the irregular, worn, slippery steps. In all the many dozens and dozens of hotels, pensions, hostels, and albergues that we have stayed in all over Europe and Asia, we have never had a room without a TV. Surely a basic requirement these days? The wc seat was broken on arrival and remained so, there was no plug in the washbasin; there is an open electric plug about two feet from the washbasin, it is away from the wall and all the wires are hanging out. Electrocution is a distinct possibility, so we didn't touch it. The shower head does not fit/stay in the shower head holder. There is a hole in the wall in the bathroom where a hook once was. There is no toilet brush, surely a basic requirement. A redeeming thing is that the double bed is very comfortable for a hotel type bed, it's just a shame that the bedding supplied is such a bad fit for the bed There is no storage in the room, no cupboards, it is spartan in the extreme. We have both stayed in accommodation throughout Europe and Asia and this is close to the bottom of the pile. Our room is described as a "superior room", I dread to think what lesser ones are like. This represents extremely poor value for money

Close to everything and nice and clean and comfortable.. great breakfast and hosts

Nothing

Great stay. The rooms were clean and the hotel grounds were beautiful. The breakfast was delicious, and Hamza fulfilled our every wish.

Hamza the host was very helpful and attentive. Organising taxis at local prices, waking early to give us a packed breakfast and giving good directions to the riad being some examples.

Hamza was just amazing guy....Belko is very lucky to have such lovely staff.

Nothing

Hamza & Selma were very friendly & helpful. Riad was clean and very well kept. Ideally located in the Kasbah. Enjoyed the traditional breakfast

Nothing

The staff makes this Riad incredible. They assisted us with all we needed to know about Marrakech and surrounds. The beds were very soft and probably the cleanest Riad we have stayed in during our 2 weeks in Morocco. Breakfast was also great and freshly baked.

I can't complain about anything at this facility.

Hamza who is ruining the Riad Belko is a very kind, friendly man. He was waiting for me beside the road when I came with taxi from the Airport. Location, breakfast and the room all was very lovely 🥰

This Riad is a bit simpler, which is reflected in the lower price. If you're just staying for the night, you'll be satisfied. My room was small but appropriate for the price. The breakfast was excellent and plentiful. Lovely rooftop terrace. The location is great – being in the second row makes it very quiet. The manager was very friendly and helpful with everything. The staff was truly outstanding.

Great stay in a peaceful Riad in a great location. Nice breakfast and helpful, friendly staff.

Staff was very helpful, specially Hamza

It's a quite hard to find if you don't know the streets. Google maps takes you to the wrong street and it is impossible to access it from that way. I had to ask a local to help me.

The location is nice, but if u compare the price for stay and that everything rest was very bad. (

Sadly nothing special, maybe the location.

The gentleman from the reception made this stay exceptional. Very helpful, kind, I got breakfast served much earlier than usual when I was going on the day trips. The location is great also, walkable distance to the most important objects. It's also very calm to sleep in the night. Would definetely recommend !

The rooms are really nice and cozy! The staff was very friendly and cooperative. Breakfast very delicious and facilities super comfortable!

We love staying at Riad Belko. It felt like a real Moroccan experience. The rooms were nice and clean. The host was very kind and helped us with anything we needed. It is on the outer edge of the old town, but easily walkable to everything.

The staff were very helpful - breakfast was good and plentiful. Just a short walk to the main attractions at the medina. We slept soundly in a very comfortable bed.

Wonderful step back in time in this old riad with beautiful decor. Very generous moroccan breakfast Very helpful and friendly hosts.

Great atmosphere, helpful staff. Hamza explained us what to do, what not to do during our stay. Thank you!

Since it’s in the old town area, it could be really hard to find due to complex structures, you better contact via WhatsApp for the location.

good value, friendly host & great breakfast! we booked a pick up from airport & the driver was there even though our flight was delayed. cost was 20euro and worth it as we arrived very late in the evening.

space and furnishings is a bit tight in the room. it was cold but extra blankets at night made it cozy.

Hamza and his friends are very kind, great place with excellent breakfast. Cozy Riad but very quiete, slept like a baby. Highly recommend to sleep here in Marrakech! Thank you Hamza & friends!

Nothing

The riad is very quiet which is very uncommon but very appreciated. Our room was spacious, beds are soft, but comfy. Shower has hot water. Wifi is very good, even on the top floor. Breakfast is delicious with omelet, breads, pasty, coffee and juice. The staff are very nice and helpful. We booked a trip to the Waterfall through him and it worked out well. The location is great, in the kasbah so not as hectic as the medina.

Our room had a strange chemical smell, but got better once we left the windows open. Google Maps, Mapy etc do not know the street, they are one block off. Follow directions to the Tombs; continue on that main street; after passing the shop with a bunch of Lion statues take the next right(slight right) and follow it to the end. Don't be put off by the entrance, it is nice inside. It would help if the riad sent a message with directions or pictures of the streets would help.

Authentic room, Air condition perfect, Good breakfast, nice host

Could be difficult to find and some signs might help

From the reception to the room, you can tell these people know how to make their guest feel welcome. The location is also great. I really enjoyed my time there.

The place is small and nice. The best thing of the experience is the host Hamza. Very kind, helpful and Nice Location great! Great value for the money.

It was clean but not the cleanest. In Marocco standard from 1to 10 was 8.

The host was so helpful and lovely, breakfast was exceptional and with a big variety of food. The location is perfect for somebody who likes walking (like us) and cheap local food (like us). We ate shawarma on the nearby street almost every day and it was delicious. The rooftop was very cozy and the whole hotel was decorated tastefully. The bathrooms deserve a special mention, I loved the design there. Overall, we would love to come back!

Comfortable and clean room in a nice Riad, well located at walking distance from several attractions, with parking possibilities nearby. Hamza was a great and very pleasant host, who picked me up and helped me find the entrance, and arranged the print out of my boarding pass. Thank you!

I can’t say too much because I spent only short night. For short stay it is just perfect. Hamza met me and explained many things, especially how to get taxi and when should I leave for airport - it is true a lot in advance.

Good location in the medina, very close to the Kasbah mosque and the most popular touristic spots of the city but in a relatively quiet area. Hamza is a great host and helped us printing our boarding passes. He welcomed with a very nice mint tea on our arrival. We didn't try any other food at the riad but the breakfast was excellent. The riad has a nice rooftop and the room was clean and comfortable.

Friendly stuff

The personnel is very friendly and the interior is unique

Don’t use google to find entrance. Call the object.

The host Hamza is amazing, and always available to help. The breakfast was excellent and aboundand. The location is perfect, in the Kasbah in a very quiet secondary street. It is a bit difficult to find the first time. In 15’ on foot you can reach the main square, and the area is very safe and not touristic at all

The rooms are small and not in perfect conditions

Hamza is an amazing host: knowledgeable, kind, forthcoming and caring. We really loved the breakfast, especially that it slightly changed every day.

I had booked one of the bigger rooms with a washing machine but ended up in one of the smaller rooms without one. The bedroom window could not be opened to let fresh air in but I also didn't want the AC to run all day. The bathroom really needs to be refurbished, it was clean but in a sad state.

Amazing host, explained everything about Marrakesh Medina, where to go, what to do, how everything functions. Cozy atmosphere, comfortable room, nice terrace. Tasty breakfast 😊

Hamza was extremely helpful and facilitated a lot of the little things like tours and taxis. He really made the stay great

Our host, Hamza, was incredible from start to finish! He met us at the street to show us to the Riad, and made us a lovely tea on our arrival. Throughout our stay, he gave us helpful information about the city and recommended activities and places to visit. The Riad offers some excursions, but these weren’t pushed on us at all throughout our time. Breakfast every day was beautiful and the perfect amount of food. All of the staff were extremely friendly and we felt so welcome throughout our stay. The bedroom was small, but not cramped, and had air conditioning and a comfy bed. The shower was hot and the water pressure was good, and the complementary soaps and shampoos smelled wonderful.

The room wasn’t exactly what was pictured and was a little smaller than we expected, but was still a lovely room and big enough for both of us for the week that we stayed!

Host was amazing. Very friendly, wish stayed longer

Food was good and as I was gluten free and didn´t tell, they were happy to accommodate my needs with a couple of eggs, it was ok, but not brilliant - they could write up that gluten free options might be available.

The room was super dusty. I didn't realise until turning AC on and falling ill because I am allergic, so I don't recommend to anyone with allergies; bed was a bit uncomfortable; and also they charged me 2€ to print two boarding passes in black and white...

Lo ation is good thought not great to find.

Bed was a bit uncomfortable.

Kind and helpful host. Nice Moroccan vibe of the house. Tasty breakfast

The Riad was really well located, excellent for exploring the Medina on foot. There were also many shops, restaurants and cafes nearby. Special mention to Hamza for his friendliness and hospitality. He was able to print our boarding passes at the absolute last moment (you need to print your boarding passes when flying out of Marrakech) and he also booked us a taxi for very early in the morning. Thank you so much Hamza!

Great location, but not as described on Booking (400m difference). Always nice and smiling staff. Thanks to Hamza, this place is so much better!

The location indicated on Booking was different than the real location of the Riad.

The receptionist was so accomodating and kind. Breakfast was fantastic.

We couldnt find it the first time and some guys "helped" us to find it and proceeded to extort money from us. So if you get lost, just call the reception first. Don't rely on google maps because it directs you to the back of the riad. The airconditioning was lukewarm, probably because it was so hot when we were there. Very narrow stairs.

The stuff was a very nice Person. WiFi was good, the food even better.

Our host was very friendly and gave us a lot of useful information about the city. She helped a lot with the parking as well. The location was pretty good, a nice walk to the main market.

The breakfast was not diverse, but I understand this is how the traditional Moroccan breakfast is.

Riad Belko is a very nice and calm Riad in Kasbah. Our host Hamza always kind and helping in everything we need. Very clean. We come back again sure. Thank you very much

The young man who welcomed us to the property was the shining star of this Riad, and our experience would have been dismal without him. The breakfast was good and the location was good.

We were in a room on the rooftop, and the AC only blew lukewarm air. it was a hot night, made warmer by our location in the Riad. we didn’t get a lot of sleep the night we stayed here, unfortunately.

Hamza was very kind and helpful, gave us a lot of tips as it was our first time visiting Marrakech. He always tried to make sure that we were feeling good and was very attentive! The Riad was clean, and very quiet, the room we booked was pretty big and we felt very comfortable during our stay. I would recommend this place quality/price worth it and the location is very good, many shops near by and 10-15 minutes walking to Fnaa square

it was very close to different sites within the old city.

it was a bit run down and stuffy. the feeling of the riad was small and didn’t match the pictures on the website.

The staff were extremely welcoming and friendly! Caring and hospitable. This was the main reason why I really enjoyed my stay at the Riad.

There is much to be improved in terms of overall comfort and the quality of the in-room facilities.

The Riad is very nice, colorful and welcoming. Hamza was a great guide for us and made us breakfast even at 6 am in the morning before heading to the desert. His advices have been precious! We would recommend the structure to anyone visiting Marrakech!

Hamza is the best! Helpful, friendly, and warm-hearted!

Our host was wonderful! Very helpful and unforgetable smile.

I would recomend owner small refurbishment. Some new paint on the walls would make your riad even better.

great helpful staff

Riad Belko is a small quintessentially Moroccan guest house, and I thoroughly enjoyed my stay there. Although facilities were a little wobbly, everything worked perfectly fine and little imperfections added to the authentic experience. Selma was very welcoming and kind, and Hanza went above and beyond any expectations to make me and my friend feel welcomed and safe in Morroco, and enjoy our stay. A sincere and heartfelt thank you, Hamza!

great location, super close to the airport and in Kasbah which is a cleaner and not as busy as the square. Hamza is what we would call the property manager, always has a smile on his face and gets everything done - superman!!

shower gel, shampoo, hand wash, etc need to make it clear which is which and provide all.

host was very friendly, great location

thin walls, room next to breakfast area where you could here people talk. Windows facing common area so little privacy. shower drainage smelled bad. low water pressure in the shower

I stayed there for a couple of nights with my sister. The staff is extremely nice and helpful. I would definitely say that was the best of the stay. They really made us feel comfortable and safe. The breakfast is very nice (we loved the cakes!) and the room was very clean. The hot water in the shower and the AC/heater works well :). Besides, we really liked the bed. The most comfy one during our stay in Morocco.

Please note that (at least in our room) there was not natural light, but a window to the common spaces. This is normal and did not bother me at all, but maybe just something to mention in case someone has a different expectation.

Friendly staff

Wrong location shown on booking.com map. Poor shower (need to hold with hand) and breakfast not great.

Very good breakfast. Nice reception.

Payment wasn't what I was expecting. To the Booking price they charged us a city tax (3 euros per day, per person)+3.5% payment with credit card. One of the rooms didnt have toilet paper neither a blanket. Another room had problems with toilet flush and the shower didnt drain well. Looks better in pictures. We changed for another Riad for the last 2 days in Marrakesh.
