Reviewed Sep 1, 2026I often travel up as my elderly parents reside in Rangiora. I always choose to stay at Pegasus Gateway Motels. The proximity to Rangiora is perfect. The moteliers are familiar with me and I'm always greeted with a kind welcome. The units are a great size, I have stayed in both one and two bedroom units and they're roomy and comfortable. Everything is clean and organised, lovely comfy beds, a pleasure to stay in. Pricing is very reasonable. I will continue to be a regular visitor at Pegasus Gateway.
No issues whatsoever.

Reviewed Aug 26, 2026When I had car trouble that meant that I could not lock my dog in my car overnight, the owners very kindly let me bring her into my room to sleep in her crate inside. That was so appreciated!
The parking was a bit tight, but manageable.

Reviewed Aug 2, 2026Great service, warm and cosy unit. Heaps of space, comfy bed, lot's of power points. TV in the main bedroom was a great added bonus. Fantastic shower pressure. Everything you need in the unit. The photos of the motel don't do it justice. Will be staying here again!

Being on State Highway 1 a bit tricky to turn right onto it (during peak hour traffic). We ended up turning left and then right again a short way up, then u turning to get back on the main road.

Needed coins for washer and dryer at 9pm in the evening as daughter flew in and needed clothes washed for service. Gladly provided them for me even though an inconvenient time. Two bedroom unit was very comfortable with large sized rooms. Great hearing abd added bonus of electric blankets. Brand new carpet very luxurious. This is the second time we have stayed and will continue to if back down
No negatives. Some of traffic noise but not noticeable in unit.

The room was cold and the heating took a long time to warm the room up. This took our comfort level down a rating. Also for an "accessible room the seating was very low and difficult to get out of. A higher "tub" type chair would have been better.

Heater turns off when you remove your key from the master switch, so when returning from dinner the room was freezing! Bathroom floor is very poor design, (not flat outside of the shower), have to be careful not to twist an ankle standing over the throne. Getting in or out of the driveway in rush-hour traffic took a good 5 minutes, Traffic noise was quite noticeable after 5am
