Convenient for us
The complex needs updating rooms were too hot.
Good room size
Dirty old carpets. Mouldy tiles in bathroom. No air conditioning or heating controls.
For a 4* facility I think the hotel could do with sprucing up; much of the carpets in the corridors were worn and quite shabby. The food we were served at the wedding was ok but the breakfast left a lot to be desired; particularly at £15 a time!
Can't beat it for value for money ,food lovely
Need a bit updating
Nothing
Our stay at this property was deeply disappointing due to poor customer service and sub-standard room conditions: Unwelcoming Reception & Delays: Upon arriving at 12:00 PM, we were met with a very cold, indifferent receptionist. We were made to wait in an uncomfortable lobby until precisely 3:00 PM. No effort was made to check if a room was ready early or to handle the wait with basic hospitality. Room Maintenance Disruption: The heavy bedroom door slams shut violently with a loud bang every time it closes. It is impossible to enter or exit quietly, creating constant noise disruption. Lack of Climate Control: There is no air conditioning in the room, leaving the air hot, stagnant, and uncomfortable. Outdated Room Amenities: There are no USB ports or electrical sockets anywhere near the bedside. Charging phones or devices overnight requires plugging them in across the room. Poor Layout: The location of the lift is extremely inconvenient, requiring long, awkward walks down corridors carrying heavy luggage. When we raised these legitimate concerns with hotel management, the General Manager responded with a patronizing and defensive tone, making excuses rather than addressing the poor service or maintenance issues. Would not recommend staying here until service standards and room maintenance are addressed.

This hotel is amazing, we have been to many hotels in the UK ,this one is one of our favourites. Very nice people work there, the food was amazing, the bed was comfortable, everything was so clean.
If I were in charge of the spa area, I would have done things differently: -add more comfortable loungers arranged in pairs inside private booths -replace the lighting with softer, more relaxing lights -chamge the music to something more soothing and introduce ambient scents Overall, the spa area looks a bit like the hotel's budget cousin compared to the rest of the property. We still had a great time, but just imagine how amazing it could be if it felt like a true spa experience!
Location I guess
The constant noise was horrendous. Slamming of doors all evening and through the night. Paper thin walls could hear every conversation and drunks in the corridor through the night. Then the builders on the golf course swearing all morning before I left! The room was dated. Worn. The smallest shower head I have ever seen, peeling paint. Absolutely disgusting for the prices charged. Was told I could check out half an hour later for free only to be met with an angry cleaner t 11:10 ushering me out. Then at reception. The woman could not even acknowledge me leaving. Stay somewhere else. I will never stay here again. Poor!
The stay was excellent as always. The beds are comfortable, the shower nice and hot. Breakfast is plentiful with lots of choice. The staff were all friendly and helpful.
Loved everything
Nice but looking a little dated
Needs a spruce with some paint
Set in a pleasant rural location. Very nice staff and good restaurant. Great breakfast buffet with plenty of options
Disturbed quite a few times through the night. If there was a quiet policy it was being well ignored with slamming doors and discussions in corridor between 1 and 2am.
The breakfast was ok and the staff attentive and friendly. The bar was well stocked. It was clean and tidy. Check in was easy and efficient as was check out.
The whole complex was tired. The carpet in the room was ripped. The bed was uncomfortable and the extractor fan in the bathroom was extremely noisy.
Lovely rooms. We booked one standard and a suite. The standard was very nice but the suite was out of this world. The leisure facilities were excellent, jacuzzi steam room and sauna topped it off. Breakfast ranged pastries cereal to cooked breakfast. It was great to offer a choice of eggs. Staff were really helpful.
Breakfast was a little bit of a let down. I think after having a great stay, I was expecting a little too much.
Good location, nice room, good spa, excellent breakfast
bed mattress needs change as it sags. Its not too comfortable
Location
All good here
Easy check in and lovely lady on reception. The Spa area is a little faded but all the bits were working well and the area was clean. The bar area is lovely with a nice outside area to get the last of the sun. Food in the bar was good and well priced. I liked the little snug areas that you could sit in and have a drink before bed. Room was basic but comfortable and clean. We didn’t have breakfast so can’t comment on quality
Nothing. It was all good for the night we stayed
Lovely location. Quiet. Staff very pleasant , helpful and welcoming.
Window locks in the room not working correctly
Great location and dog friendly
Nothing negative really
Great facilities. Lovely gym and spa. Reasonably priced menu.
Decor in rooms, halls and some seating areas a bit dated. Not scruffy or dirty, but very date. Reception and main bar nice though.
Only had continental breakfast, excellent Dinner was also goo d
Nought
Value was amazing, nice clean rooms, staff good, food good, facilities very very good
Location, staff so very friendly and helpful. Reception was amazing and so nice!!! Can’t recommend enough, definitely returning!!
Nothing
Lovely old building in a very quiet setting. Our room had a view of the golf course which was nice to watch whilst relaxing. The bed was extremely comfy and there were toiletries and tea and coffee facilities. The room was spacious enough for the two of us. Staff were brilliant, attentive and friendly. Food served at the bar was very good and well priced. Morning breakfast was good, hot and had plenty of selection.
The room did feel dated. Flickering halogen lights when turning them on, coupled with a fake ceiling similar to what you'd find in an office do let the place down. The decoration was fairly plain too.
staff at check in very friendly and helpful
shower ran scalding hot periodically
The staff were all so friendly and helpful. The breakfast was wonderful and I loved the small intimate spaces. I am certainly looking forward to going there again next August.
Unfortunately the bathroom was not clean. There was hair in the bath tub, under the nonslip mat and around the toilet. I would have asked for a cleaner to come in, but it was late in the evening, and so I cleaned up the room myself.
Pleasant
Perfect location
I enjoy staying at this property, it’s a little tired but lovely
Friendly staff, fair bar prices, extensive quality breakfast
Tired decor, ols fashioned, poor quality cutlery, paper napkins
Staff were absolutely amazing, friendly, helpful, had some personality, seemed to enjoy their jobs and care that the customers enjoyed themselves. Nice atmosphere. Bed and rooms very comfy.slept very well. Evening meal very good. Great value for money.
Pool a bit cold, changing rooms a bit small. I visited with my teenage grand daughter and we had a wonderful time over all at the hotel and would definately return.
Comfortable room. Nice dinner and breakfast . Nice grounds. Helpful staff
Reception staff were very welcoming and helpful. The evening menu and food were very good for us.
No air conditioner
Location suited us and was in countryside. Having a restaurant was needed being away from other local choices and the food and service was great for adults. It was quiet. I made use of the pool and saunas/ jacuzzi which was well kept and staff helpful.
The mattress was saggy and too soft for me so I didn't sleep well. The shower was a bit of a drizzle and no hand rail to help climbing over the bath.
Spa facilities were good
Night shift security and shift uncharted was not polite and feel that he got some mannerisms issue. Breakfast is so so.
Dog was welconed with no problem bowls left in the room.
Arrived after 2 hrs driving and could not get food. We were given sone fruit and biscuits to keep us going till breakfast which was welcomed. It would be heloful to know when service stops on the hotel nformation as we could have stopped on route. The bell for disabled access is a little high for soneone in a wheelchair.
English breakfast excellent
We chose this hotel for an overnight stay before flying from East Midlands Airport. It is a 30 minute drive away, very quiet, clean, comfortable and in lovely surroundings.
It was all fine.
Great location. Lovely swimming pool. Great staff. Great parking facilities.
The friendly, kind staff are an asset to this hotel, every one of them was lovely Although I didn't use the additional facilities, I peeked a look and wish I'd been able to! Food was really good, choice was good and balanced and the service was really nice.
The only thing that was a very small negative was that the bed was very noisy, any movement, however small made it make a noise 🤭
Great staff, especially at the restaurant where we had an amazing meal and great portion sizes, so really good value for money.
Paid extra for a room with a view over the canal and there were 3 lovely large windows except 2 of them were totally misted up and need replacing, so the only clear view was from the middle one. Minor point but a real shame as we could see if they were all clear, the panoramic view would have been spectacular.
Excellent breakfast, fresh and good selection
Air conditioning would have been good
Friendly reception staff swapped our room for the second night of our stay due to noise levels from adjacent rooms.
Walls are paper thin. Rooms & beds very dated. Gym equipment was on it's last legs and pool & changing facilities didn't feel very clean or well maintained
Good value hotel with decent facilities. Room was clean and the food was of a good standard. All thr staff were friendly.
Great breakfast
Staff & room
Room a fair way from the restaurant etc
Swimming pool. A/C in bar area
From arrival to departure the staff were friendly, welcoming, and discretely attentive. It is an old building & in spite of obviously being slightly tired here & there, everywhere looked well cared for. We don't mind slightly worn places at all, provided they are kept up - which this certainly appears to be. It is huge!! Plenty of parking on site. We were staying one night only and would definitely recommend if it suits location wise. We paid well under £100 for our room including breakfast [which was very good indeed]. There is nowhere nearby to walk to for alternative evening meals. Prices are reasonable and we enjoyed our meal which was very good. Would recommend.
Someone has to cop the noisier room location!! [room 201] - we survived intact - but with our room on the first floor and the "sunny" side, plus overlooking a kitchen ventilation installation and the bins, we thought we'd have a disturbed night. I did ask reception for a room move to the back of the hotel [non-sunny side, even numbered rooms], but there were none available. Receptionist was very helpful & we understood. It was fine, but the fan supplied in the room was pathetically small, so housekeeping might want consider something more up to the job, especially in this increasingly hot weather that is unlikely to change for the foreseeable future. The controls for the shower in the bath were v dodgy indeed & could do with attention so that guests don't end up scalding themselves!!
Quietness and the olden royal history vibe.
No AC in rooms and the walk to lifts quite some distance
Room was very clean bed comfortable. Food was good.
Fish was not the best too much batter. Breakfast could have been hotter. Steps up to the rooms were a challenge for me. There wasn't any toiletries and I couldn't get in the bath.
The food was exceptional from a basic ham sandwich to the evening fish and chips
Our bathroom toilet flush
Off the beaten track. Quiet. Comfortable bed
Swimming pool was dated.
Unique location, huge room and really friendly staff!
Some bits of the room weren’t the cleanest
Friendly staff always on hand Lovely spot Catered to every need
On arrival my heart sank. The car park is rough and housed by temporary security fencing. When we found the entrance check in was quick as we had already filled in the details online. The bar restaurant menu was uninspiring. We had an “Executive” room 317. It was a large room but very dull not how it was pictured online. It was clean but things had been missed (tea tray dirty , no liners in bin and labels peeling on soap etc. dead bird outside our room . Bed was comfortable and slept well.. room very warm but very hot day. Breakfast was ok. Probably wouldn’t return.
Excellent comfort and staff. Dinner was lovely and the bed was extremely comfortable
Beautiful location
Beautiful location, ideal surroundings for taking a little trip with our pup.
The room was possibly a little bit dated. Only criticism was that the cocktails were far too sweet
I got a really good deal so the value was excellent, front desk very helpful and friendly, i couldnt fault the room and the surrounding grounds were very serene.
There was nothing i was dissatified with.
The attention and customer service. We were given an upgrade because our assigned room smelled strongly (in fact stunk) of cigarrette smoke. We would recommend better enforcement of the no-smoking policy. But the manager on duty addressed and resolved our concerns.
See above
Window was broken, no air conditioning, fan was very noisy. Bed was very lumpy and hard.
The breakfast was very basic, and the bread and muffins were mouldy.
Facilities such as golf course and swimming pool. Location was quiet but accessible to motorways.
Breakfast. Food quality was poor though selection was good. Even the pastries and yogurts were tasteless. Cup of tea was nice though.
Everything was lovely, great view from our room over the golf course. The outside dining and bar area was exceptional.
Nothing.
All the food was excellent.
We were a golf group of 20 for a 1 night DBB and 2 rounds. The service was impeccable, the food was great and the course had a great variety of holes.
Friendly staff Great surroundings Lovely breakfast Great bar area
Nothing about the property but was awoken at 4:30am by shouting residents
Un emplacement au calme dans un hôtel très sympathique.
Golf break with husband & friends. The golfers all enjoyed the course, plenty of buggies for hire if needed. Myself & 1 other non-golfer. There is a pool with sauna & steam room & you can book spa treatments. Also asnooker room. Bedrooms are fairly large with showers over the the bath. We have now been back to this hotel 6 times over the years and are thinking of returning next year for 3 times on a row (as a rule, we go back for a 2nd year then find a new venue). The staff are fantastic, friendly, efficient and so welcoming. The food has been fabulous.
Room spacious and cool in very hot weather. I didn’t have a fridge that would be because I got a discounted room. Great staff maintenance guy was very kind moved me to a better room that was cool.
Not having a fridge in hot weather for milk etc
room and breakfast both excellant -disabled facilities very good and comfortable to use.
nothing everything was very good
Lovely surroundings. The pool temperature was just right. Food was really tasty and made with good quality ingredients. The burger was one of the best I had ever eaten, and the gooseberry and stem ginger eton mess was delicious. They were both so good that I had them both nights we were there. The air conditioning in the bar area was very welcome. The bed was comfortable. Breakfast from 7.00am at the weekend was just what I needed.
It was extremely hot, and there was no air conditioning in our room. Unfortunately, the fan was not much help due to the unusually high temperature.
I can not rate this hotel enough. I often travel to Leicester to visit my nana and stay usually at the Marriott. However, this time I was bringing my 3 year old and wanted somewhere that had a pool so we could make the most of the weekend trip. From the moment I booked, I was in contact with the receptionist via email to change my room to a twin room, which was done within 30 mins of my email without any hassle. Then on arrival, we were greeted at the desk by a lovely lady (don’t remember her name sadly) and also Chrissie, who worked in the leisure complex. Within seconds, they were greeting Henry, chrissie invited him to the swimming pool and offered to help him with floats and toys. On reaching the pool (with Henry who’s petrified of swimming), Chrissie was on hand with floats, toys and pool side support for Henry. We then went into the resteraunt for tea, and was again welcomed by a lovely lady on the bar who helped assist with the kids menu. In summary, the team at this hotel, wether just walking by someone in the corridor or direct, I was amazed by the friendliness and level of service. Thank you for our positive stay
This is our go to retreat, we love the hotel, chilled, everyone friendly, great rooms, spa and food fantastic, back 2 more times later in year.
Nothing.
Thank you the evening meal was really good
All good thank you
Lovely and relaxing. Food was excellent Staff were very friendly and helpful
Nothing
The bar and dinning room had air conditioning in The staff were helpful
Property is old and has no air conditioning in any of the bedrooms The superior room we booked was on the top floor and was unbearably hot it was 31 degrees outside We asked to be moved to a ground floor which they did , only a standard room was available which we took Bathroom had a shower in the bath with no grab rails which was a hazard in my view , Tea and coffee tray hid away in a cupboard because the lack of space ( had to ask reception before finding it ) No bottle water in the room The lay out of the interior is difficult due to four steps up before you could access the bedrooms They do have a side entrance of disable to get round this problem . My husband is disabled with respiratory ailments but he managed these stairs but getting to the top floor he managed with difficulty and felt quite poorly I immediately went down to the reception and explained that we needed to move and was there air conditioning anywhere in the building . She phoned my husband in the room 325 and the staff moved us down to room 110 on the ground floor This hotel is rated 4* and it no where near a 4* rating which it had and should be looked at asp The golf club which is the main draw looks very good and well kept
We stayed 2 nights as part of a trip.to Kilworth house theatre. Kilworth itself has become very expensive. Ullesthorpe court is welcoming and very clean. Staff are lovely. Pool is a bit on the small side. Jacuzzi good. The terrace at the back by the golf shop is great for a drink in the sunshine. Breakfast was OK. Eggs a bit cold. We had dinner one night which was good. The other night we ate in Cheikos Lutterworth. On the downside there is nowhere.to go for a walk on site, apart from the golf course which is accessible after the golf finishes. Overall a pleasant stay.
Visited for Sunday lunch with family and was very disappointed with the whole experience and poor quality food. On arrival we were directed to the restaurant which was accessed through a narrow passageway where staff were serving from. Very little atmosphere in the room and only a few diners, which says something. The menu folders plastic and seemed well used and the menus were printed on brightly coloured background which gave a downmarket impression. Drinks prices were very high and the staff didn’t seem to have much knowledge about certain drinks. We ordered main courses which took a long time to arrive and were rather unappealing. Everything piled onto your plates more like a pub lunch rather than a restaurant in a 4 star hotel. Some of the food appeared to have been reheated, notably the stodgy cauliflower and broccoli cheese. The only good thing was an extra jug of hot gravy which was provided on request. Desserts were average and the panna cotta was served with biscotti biscuits rather than nice home made style biscuits. Ullesthorpe Court boast about having an AA rosette, but based on this experience, it was well below the standard we expected of a restaurant with this accreditation. We haven’t visited for a long time and won’t be going back any time soon.
Lovely clean room, very clean bed. Friendly professional staff.
Breakfast was just okay - not brilliant- eggs like rubber and friend bread very tough.
Location, spa, food
Unfortunately someone had been sick on the outside seating the which was not pleasant to find the next morning
Nice Bar and welcoming staff
The rooms were extremely warm with 1 small fan provided. We stayed 2 nights and nobody serviced our room. Just water and more coffee pods would have been great. Lots of rubbish in bushes on the outside seating area, just a bit messy
the location, the size of the bedroom, the bar and the air conditioning and the food.
No Air conditioning in bedroom only one desk fan for a night when the temperature was high. Had to ask for another desk fan but they were abit old and rattled so couldn’t leave them on all night.
breakfast was great, buffet style but could also have something else cooked, i had poached eggs on toast with advocado, staff friendly and welcoming
the rooms were very warm but we did have a fan to help with the heat
Staff were good in the main
Accessibility was poor Pool was cold inaccessible and changing rooms up flight of stairs.(I use a mobility scooter)
Food quality at breakfast was poor but dinner was good.
Breaking service was poor. Fried eggs were crucified and some foods were not replaced in the hot buffet.
Staff helpful and polite.
1st room was ground floor, with pedestrian pathway immediately by the window. Strange smell in room and the supplied fan was damaged. We were 'upgraded' to an identical room, with an additional bed, meaning usable space was actually less. No remote for the TV, net curtains dirty and ripped and while trying to find the remote, found bits of biscuit under the bed. Receptionist helpfully found us a spare remote, unfortunately this didn't work either. If we hadn't had to get ready for an event, we would have left for a different hotel. Breakfast very average, no mention of the made to order options which we found after we had eaten.
Very good. SET US UP FOR JOURNEY HOME. Good choice of food. Well set out. FRIENDLY staff.
Excellent service everything was fine.
Very friendly staff, good breakfast. Enjoyed the pool area, comfortable room.
The fabric of the hotel looks quite shabby.. Have stayed a few times, had expected some upgrading re refurbishment.
Lief personeel en zeer behulpzaam
Eerste kamer was niet oke kregen direct andere ochtend andere kamer
Friendly staff, great breakfast
Excellent staff. Clean hotel. very good breakfast. Comfortable well appointed bedroom . Thoroughly enjoyed my stay..
Ideal if you are using the golf course, and lovely outside area for sitting/eating/drinking
Hotel has a faded air, needs a freshen up.
Location good for my purpose. Spa facilities.
Seating area and corridors looking tired.
All of the staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was a good size, clean and had everything we needed. Although some aspects of the hotel building are looking slightly dated everything seems to be well maintained and organised. The leisure facilities were great, a reasonably sized pool and a good sauna, steam room and jacuzzi. As our stay was short we only ate once at the hotel restaurant, on the terrace with a lovely view over neighbouring fields, we were perfectly happy with our meals. We visited a couple of pubs a short drive away and enjoyed their food too. The quiet rural location suited us perfectly.
Our room shared a (closed and locked) interconnecting door with an adjacent room; unfortunately we had a couple of chaps staying on business next door who seemed incapable of talking to each other without shouting and laughing. The noise insulation between the rooms would probably have been bearable without the interconnecting door. Given the age of the hotel we appreciate that noise insulation isn't going to be as good as might be expected from a new property. Breakfast was perfectly adequate but we felt there could have been a greater choice of cereals, pastries and breads.
Lovely large room and bathroom facilities, excellent quiet location and excellent breakfast and evening meal. A special mention to the lovely young waitress who served us dinner who was very helpful, professional, efficient and friendly
Room was good size. Bed huge . Clean
Room very warm. Dated lots of scuff marks on walls. Leisure centre ( pool) couldn't get Jacuzzi to work. Didn't know I needed a £ for locker .
Good value for money, nice location, helpful staff, wide variety at breakfast 🙂
Five steps or steep outside, car-park slope to get to and from an “accessible” room with a disabled bathroom was far from ideal. Second room bathroom was overly snug.
An old hotel, but we loved that. Clean and comfortable room. Nice bar, with reasonable prices, and food was delicious. Super friendly and professional staff. Pool and spa area was good. Gym had a good range of equipment. Golf course was ok, but players were very slow.
Spa changing room and showers are very basic, but it's an old hotel, I'm sure there's not much that could be changed.
I stay at this hotel quite regularly. For very good reasons. The location is lovely and peaceful, the staff right through the hotel are warm-hearted, friendly and helpful. The facilities are really good, and the rooms are spotless with very comfortable beds. The atmosphere is whatever you want it to be - as a private individual, I have always found it bang-on, but it's also great to see happy couples and family groups enjoying themselves there too. Food service is excellent. Money doesn't really come into it, but if it does, this hotel is also really good value for money.
Room was very good. All food was of a high quality. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Facilities were excellent.
It was all very good which led to a relaxing few days.
In my opinion ...The best western was OK.. Staff friendly enough, sadly the discount on our golf package of 10% wasn't always applied dispite our wrist bands ...Not acceptable as this broke our agreement, unfortunately it wasnt noticed until we arrived home and credit card receipts show this ...Food on the golf package was fine and always presented well ...Golf experience....The course was in very good condition and wasn't simple ,so very good for the average golfer.. the 18th particularly challenging but great fun ....Now the down side...slow play ...it happens everywhere and i havent got a big issue with it and it certainly doesn't spoil my leisure activity , but when your group is accused of it the next day with false allegations by members / visitors ..of ..A five ball ? A player wearing jeans .and Slow play ...which were all malicious and false. Our group at one stage caught the 2 groups before us ,making it a total of 11 players on this hole..We believe /know the accusers were a ladies group of which one player approached our member and asked about slow play ...if the accuser looked into the distance she would have noticed the back log ...I'm proud to say our member was calm ..polite and honest in his reply...Saturday morning a conversation with the Gentleman time keeper regarding the complains were had and he wholly agreed with us as he teed us off that friday ...no jeans were worn,no 5 ball group and slow play MAY be a white tee competition or other factors .Sadly that evening said ladies group were making a nuisance of them self in the restaurant with a noise level unacceptable to most ...we moved to the bar area which was perfect..We do not blame the hotel or golf club for the false allegations or the unacceptable behavior of the group of women golfers...On a good note go and enjoy the golf course ....Sunday is quieter in my opinion .
Staff excellent and friendly. Good range of dishes on the menu and an excellent breakfast.
Having had a long drive we wanted some exercise and fresh air. We wanted to walk beside the golf course but not allowed. We did not bring any other sports gear so could not use the swimming pool etc
