Nice hotel at a reasonable price.
Our room was a little tired and could have done with a bit of updating and the brown ceiling was a little out of date.
Very clean ! And friendly staff
There was nothing not to like
The room was quiet, comfortable and extremely clean. The location was good with safe parking.
I booked the hotel because it had a restaurant. I would have appreciated a message beforehand to let me know the restaurant was closed because of staffing problems. This had a knock on effect on breakfast too. Cereal wasn't offered until another guest asked for it, butter was brought when we asked but was not available on the buffet table. The hotel made it clear that there was no lift and that bedrooms were on the first and second floors. However, there was no mention, when booking, of the 'spiral' staircase we had to use to get to our room.
No food available this was not stated when booked. Had to go out to find restaurants
Make food available
The hotel is set in a lovely place a short walk from Skegness centre
There is no breakfast, the staff are disinterested and the rooms are very dusty
I love this hotel and it history staff are very friendly and helpful
Being disabled with mobility issues having to climb stairs to the to get to rooms . But I would say its worth the discomfort
Nice comfy bed
Stairs to top floor
Great location off the beaten path, team were fantastic and very accommodating
Wifi was horrendous, other than that all was good.
The property is so full of character, It is so quiet, such a peaceful hotel, plenty of car parking spaces, when we visit Skegness we wouldn’t stay anywhere else.
Missed the breakfast facility.
Had a Sunday lunch which was very good but would have liked breakfast. Car parking good.
We are OAPs so would have liked a hand rail to get in and out of shower. Didn’t like that they didn’t do breakfast. Room was quite dark as the ceiling had been painted black.
Beautiful surroundings, very clean interior.
Stayed in a room with 2 single beds. Mattresses they were uncomfortable.
Comfy bed, friendly staff, reasonable prices
The rooms can get stuffy in warm weather.
Nuffik wasn't good it was a disaster
Just the out side its not disabled Freindly the air-conditioning system in tge room wasn't working it was very hot in the bedroom the bath wasn't clean and I had to ask for toiletries because there wasn't any in the room and I have a brain toumor and went there to rest but we couldn't so i wasn't £90 pounds
The location, and the look of the restaurant that we didn’t get chance to try out
The mattresses were terrible, every move was felt by a spring pinging in your legs or back. The TV remote didn’t work, if you needed to turn it over you had to switch the TV off at the back.
The bedroom was very clean and comfortable. Large and spacious room
Further from the main area than the original information suggests
It was very clean and nice to look at decor wise. The few staff we met was very polite and welcoming.
It was so noisy. We did not sleep well at all through the night due to creaking floorboards and other various noises in the property. Other guest who was extremely loud who was above us. Bathroom door kept opening as it was not shutting properly.
Loved the room, veey spacious and clean. The staff were exceptional, especially 'Pip' who was running the bar.
The food was good quality, reasonably priced and big portions. The drinks were reasonably priced
Location
No shampoo supplied in bedroom and no breakfast in the morning
Lovely hotel, 15 mins walk into Skegness so nice and quiet. Good location, well priced. Very clean, nice outside area for drinks that were reasonably priced. Staff very friendly. Had a great stay.
The only thing we could criticise was not having a breakfast option. Even coffee and pastry option would have been nice.
Lovely location. A nice room, clean and comfortable.
Breakfast available on site
Beautiful inside and out! Lovely room, big bathroom and bed was comfy Sir working Reception was so lovely and welcoming Loved the fairy lights !
Car park stones were too deep i nearly broke my ankle, it was like a foam pit with rocks Breakfast wasn’t great, eggs were hard and cold, beans were dry and wasn’t a fan of the sausages, didn’t get any toast which was supposed to come with the full breakfast, tea and coffee was also cold Wasn’t asked if it was ok, no staff around for long periods of time during b-fast
Everything
Creeky flooring but expected in an old house
The Vine is a bit tired but the accommodation was very good and the staff were both very friendly, efficient and helpful
None
Staff were lovely especially the cleaning lady. Quiet rooms. Nice location and great parking. Big bathroom!
If youre less mobile and youre on the 2nd floor the windy staircase may be too much if youre carrying a heavy suitcase too. I was okay but just a heads up to others.
The room we had was way too hot and had two fans that didn't really help at all
Location was good for spending days in Skegness.
No breakfast available apart from weekends not even a box option. Not good for anyone with mobility issues . Steep stairs to rooms a problem when taking luggage up . No ventilation in bathroom no window or vent . Climbing into a high sided bath for a shower when you are nearly 80 is impossible. Very stuffy as window only opens a few inches . Was given a fan on request though . Clean but needs a makeover .
We always have a nice time at the Vines x
The room looked nice thats it..
I didnt like that they say FREE WIFI but we connected to the wifi but it had no internet connected...had 1 bar..we told the staff all we got told was "nothing we can do about it as its a big building" well im sorry but then get better wifi for the building, as we kept going out for a ciggeret at nightime the front door was ment to be locked and only get in with a code...it was left unlocked untill i told someone around 2am...then they locked it...we left the hotel the next day to notice they had took £100 from my account after i already paid £120 to stay the night... we had been accused of smoking canabis in the hotel room..therfore they decided to take £100 charge!..NOBODY SMOKED ANYTHING IN THE ROOM... we had all windows open all night as it was hot.. we could smell canabis from somebody smoking it on the front of the hotel.! Very very unfair..and will never be returning...no wonder its a 3 star
Great location, lovely rooms
Parking, food
Long way from town
Lovely hotel, good location, very comfortable king size bed. Ample free parking
It would be good if the hotel served breakfast
The room was good. Comfortable and clean.
There was no breakfast available. I would not have booked for this hotel if I had known they do not serve breakfast. Also on the first evening I went down to the restaurant, which was advertising food served until 9.00pm and was told that they had closed the kitchen and there was no food available. That was before 8.30pm so it should have been open for another half an hour.
Location and staff
Every thing including evening meal. I’m a bit of a fussy eater but the food although basic was excellent and I would recommend the barbecued ribs which were superb
The staff were friendly and helpful. The bed was comfortable and the shower good.
It is rather old-fashioned and creaky. The tables in the bar are sticky.
Nothing at all
Everything
Both bath and shower in the bathroom. Plenty of towels. Provision of a fan was appreciated as it was a very warm night. Adequate tea/coffee making facilities, (no biscuits). Good solid traditional feel to the hotel. Plenty of parking and only a pleasant 10 minute walk to the beautiful Seacroft Marsh Nature Reserve.
Unfortunately, breakfast was not available midweek, apparently due to lack of numbers, so we went to Poppy's Cafe on our return journey , which I would recommend. The non-slip mat in the bath had black mould underneath so was not used. Everything else was clean. TV home screen came on but I was unable to load Live tv - mentioned it to Reception on check-out.
arrived and was greeted by a member of staff asking me use the other entrance as they had a school leavers event on, headed to reception and got told there had been a slight issue as the key to the room i was supposed to have went with the previous visitor, so had been upgraded! the room was stunningly decorated huge and had everything needed, bath and over shower which was very good. the manager was brilliant polite had happy and apologetic. the team bar and waiting staff did a wonderful job it was a very busy hotel/pub that evening with the event but they all did their best and were very polite and helpful and the food was absolutely cracking! best prawns i have ever had!!!! check out was lovely too stood and spoke to the team before leaving they were all wonderful highly recommend this place
n/a the wifi was a little unpredictable but hey when at the seaside and a break away who needs it!
We've used this hotel for 2 years and we love it. We wouldn't go anywhere else. it's good value for money, clean and comfortable. The kids love it as well. Especially the little one because they have a bouncy castle. We will definitely be back again next year.
Nothing.
Nice clean, spacious family room. Very hot but we did have two fans in there to use. Food was good, drinks a tad pricey. Bouncy castle for kids outside with plenty of seating.
There was only one working toilet downstairs for the ladies but they had rectified that by the following day. Communication from reception could have been better, we weren’t given a lot of information about our stay, breakfast times etc.
Attractive building and grounds.
Lovely hotel, very quiet, nice outside area
The room we stayed in had an extractor fan outside which came on at 7am and was quite loud.
Beautiful hotel. Nice clean and comfy room. Will use again
Lovely hotel big spacious inside and out
The rooms were very spacious and outside was lovely
Such lovely staff …
Can’t say I didn’t like anything
Location
Needs updating
The shower in the room
Nothing really
Very clean and helpful staff
Staff friendly
The rooms were very hot although they did supply a small fan.
Staff were very friendly- lovely place to stay
Room was too hot
Lovely hotel, stayed 2 nights, far enough from the town that its lovely and peaceful
No fault but due to being an old building floors in bedroom were on a slope, and windows only part opened but a large fan was provided which was ideal
All of it ,one of the best places iv stayed and the staff was so helpful especially John, and the food was out of this world, the room was so clean .
Nothing i can't fault it
Easy check in but everything after was just awful
Bar staff doing shots behind the bar not very professional
We liked the historic building and location
We don't like the bad language at times from some of the staff
Great location, helpful, friendly staff, nice atmosphere.
Lovely clean friendly hotel.
Location very good staff were very helpful 👍
Shower no hot water
Room lovely
Location a bit far out from Skegness centre was taxi ride, and taxis weren't great availability
Location lovely very relaxed and quiet
Bar closed on our first night early. Which was a surprise as we were hotel guests No breakfast is a big minus Confusion/ lack of choice over other meals There is a need for rails in the bathroom and possibly on first floor where you have to negotiate different levels on route to rooms 14 and15
nice location
Breakfast wasn’t available
the location was close to where i needed to be withing walking distance of family members
The room was too small The rooms window was at eye level with the outside seating terrace to which people could sit there and make a noise. The shower could not be regulated and therefore was hot. The ventilation fan was very poor. Kareoke was on until very late and therefore could not sleep. If an event is on then the reception staff should make the guests aware or should have moved us.
Great venue .Very clean and tidy. Lovely staff.Good breakfast
Nothing bad
Staff at the bar only
The reception staff no where to find have to wait for a long time to check in and no one available to check in for very disappointed!
Very clean and fantastically friendly staff
Nothing - it was all good.
Everything was good
Room was clean and pleasant
Breakfast no longer served and as we arrived on a Sunday evening we were too late to eat in hotel and had to go out for an evening meal.
location
1st room hadn’t been cleaned so was moved. Second day no hot water.
The hotel is lovely and the staff are very welcoming
There was nothing i didnt like about it
Lovely hotel and bars in large grounds Situated in a very quiet area but easy walk into the town
The outside garden was lovely
The shower in the room would not change temperature it trickled and even to wash sand off it was difficult due to very low pressure. After getting in the bed there was a smell of sex so we looked and the bottom sheet was not clean we left the hotel at half 3 am and we didn't go in the hotel after been out at 2.30am the draws in the room still had things from when the last person stayed very disappointed as it is meant to be a Deluxe room
It’s a beautiful building and very kept , clean and tidy , beautiful decor in rooms , the staff are very polite and friendly ,
We stayed during the heat wave and the windows only open a little bit, the fan that was provided was nt very strong so made no difference to the room temperature , could do with two fans for twin room and better stronger ones .
Large areas, friendly staff, calm atmosphere.
Really nice place
Didn’t get breakfast included Nice and quiet…decent views
Had to ask for the shower to be reattached Fan needed my partner to take it apart as blade was catching on the guard Shower gel was tiny…was given more on asking The toilet brush was absolutely covered in faeces🤮
Great location at a very reasonable price. Quiet yet within 15 minutes of the hustle and bustle of the seafront. Closest hotel to Seacroft Golf Club. Room was spacious and clean, a little quirky, but that is part of the charm of staying in 250 year old property. Food was excellent both in quality and value for money.
Breakfast isn’t available every morning, but there plenty of alternatives in the town.
The room I was allocated was very small, but acceptable as only there for one night. Dinner was very good. staff pleasant enough.
when I came down for breakfast, which was included in my booking, the Hotel was deserted. No staff on reception, restaurant closed. Eventually found someone after an hour who informed me that they no longer provide breakfast during the week. disappointing as I could have stayed in other hotels that do provide breakfast every day, but reception failed to inform me of this on check in!
It was nice and quiet out the way and felt very safe with our Autistic daughter
Just far enough from town , nice outside area. 15 minutes walk to a deserted beach!
Good price. Good variety of items.
Plain bacon not smoked.
Excellent service friendly staff lovely food recommend to all
the property was a great location
Lovely clean and very spacious lovely place
Only thing really was we dint no the windows opened wide on the fist night and weren’t told they was serving breakfast untill we checked out need a bit more communication from staff as when I sed to one staff member about do I leave keys on top of desk just went ya
Good location Friendly staff
No food when we got there about 7pm Bar closes early
Going years. Best hotel skegness.
Nothing but could be far out town for some.
Lovely clean big family rooms nothing bad but room was very humid untill the second night when we new the windows would open wide
Nothing
The hotel was nice clean and comfortable.
Thought the staff were interested in wedding guest or local drinkers. Some foul language heard from some staff.
Nice decor surroundings
Red hot in room which obviously had a fan in there
Location comfort
Rooms quite hot. Heated towel rail needed switching off - this was done for our second night thank you. Bathroom is lovely and very clean but bath rail would be helpful. Worst negative for us is the absence of breakfast!!
That it's in a quieter area of Skegness, but near enough to get in to Skegness.
We weren't told that there was a Wedding on that day,and we were put in a room, which was nice, but just above the Wedding Reception,so the disco was very loud, but went off about 12.
Service in restaurant and bar excellent
Nice place and quiet. Area is very good round there. Decent car park. Good location to start my cycle ride. Beautiful looking house and grounds.
Ordered rib eye steak and got Rump. The situation wasn't handled very well. Staff were a bit off. Had to hang around while 9am Saturday waiting for someone to turn up so I could check out.
Location for golf
Tired rooms
Nothing..Looks a lovely hotel from the outside. But my room No10 was dusty/dirty and there was an extracter fan going so I did go and let them know thy said it would stop about 9-10pm but it didn't it was going all night woke me up at least 3 times! So apart from the hair and spider in the bath and a large hair in my bed...lack of sleep too. I definitely wouldn't recommend and definitely won't be returning. Sad customer 😡
See above
Nice room and gardens good location
Some staff wasn’t helpful and it was expensive for food
Super classical and historical hotel in fabulous quiet location but not far from centre of Skegness. Friendly staff, the barman in particular went out of his way to make us feel welcome. The garden pods are great and was a lovely venue for my nephews birthday..I’d definitely stay here anytime I’m in Skegness..
The building is beautiful and has a bouncy castle also
Stayed here after traveling nearly 5 hours on my own with 3 kids..turned up hotel looked beautiful was happy my kids got into bed and came out in multiple bits one after another all over body's we searched the beds and found what appeared to potentially be a bug but couldn't confirm for sure.. there was also a small blood stain on the bed and a different type of stain also. I mentioned it to reception.. I've never complained at a hotel in my life but it made me cringe that my kids were being bitten so I had to say something. We were moved at 12 at night to a smaller room I was put on a pull out metal bed which was so so uncomfortable I had the worst night sleep and had another five hours travel to deal with. On top of that there was a squished mosquito in the net curtain of the new room and multiple blood stains.. don't get me wrong everywhere gets mosquitos ect it was more the fact it hadn't been cleaned and why was there blood stains even on the bedding.. I spoke to the manager who said the room was fine to email him the photos n he would call me back he never did.. booking.com chased it up with him and he refused to do anything or even knowledge the problem! I didn't even get an apology honestly the worst experience I rly do not recommend staying there at all. I've shared this as I'd hate for anyone else to go through that after expecting a relaxing night away AVOID
Plenty of parking, lovely garden. Welcoming staff
Room was a little noisy.
a little dated but perfect for us Also great parking facilities which was important for us
nothing to report
