Villa Karingal

The staff, grounds, and owner were all wonderful. The team goes out of their way to make your stay comfortable. The grounds are very well kept. The rooms are small but functional. The breakfasts are affordable and delicious. The view from the hill is so nice at sunset.

Wir hatten einen wundervollen Aufenthalt bei Gill und ihrem Team und können diese Unterkunft nur wärmstens empfehlen. Die Lage ist traumhaft schön, am Berg mit tollen Blick auf das Meer und der Sonnenuntergang ist bemerkenswert. Gill hat eine kleine, ruhige Oase geschaffen. Es ist alles sehr sauber gepflegt. Der Service ist sehr gut. Wir konnten früher einchecken, haben einen Roller gemietet (absolut notwendig!), Wäsche waschen lassen und zwei mal eine erstklassige Massage von Nur bekommen. Das Frühstück ist super lecker(auch europäisch wenn man mag). Am Strand + Zentrum Senggigi ist man mit dem Roller in ca 9 min. Am tollen Strand „Nipah Beach“ (wenig los, tolles Wasser) in 25 min. Absolut empfehlenswert!!! Danke an Gill und ihr Team

We stayed just one night, be we hope to be back soon!! Our stay was perfect, the host and her staff are all very friendly and helped us with anything we needed. The structure is clean and beautiful, with an amazing view on the bay. It's easily reachable from the city center with a 10 minutes drive (taxis are available and cheap). Definetely recommended!

The villa was absolutely beautiful and our favourite place we stayed in Lombok. It was peaceful, spacious, very clean and had so much character. The garden and outdoor areas were lovely and it felt very private and relaxing. Gill was a fantastic host, along with Nur, and the other employees, all were friendly, welcoming and always helpful whenever we needed anything. It felt like a real Lombok experience. Senggigi was easy to get around from the villa, while the property itself felt tucked away and quiet. We really enjoyed our five nights here and would happily stay again.

So nettes Personal und die Besitzerin ist absolut liebenswert und unglaublich hilfsbereit. Die Lage ist ein wenig abseits, dafür aber total ruhig mit einem unglaublichen Ausblick. Auch kann man den Sonnenuntergang wunderbar von dort aus beobachten. Als zusätzlichen Tipp können wir das Restaurant Asmara empfehlen. Leckeres Essen und noch bessere Cocktails.

Tout . Les chambres sont parfaites , bien équipées et très propres, le ménage est fait tous les jours . La piscine avec vue mer , le calme absolu . le petit déjeuner est très bien . Le personnel est comme partout à Lombok très gentil , à l écoute , efficace et very friendly .Merci à Nur, Déni , le gardien de nuit dont J ai oublié le prénom et bien évidemment Gill la boss qui vit sur place , est toujours prête à rendre service et à vous aider ou renseigner

La vue est très belle, la piscine est très agréable et le petit déjeuner est délicieux !! Il y a de l’eau en libre service donc c’est très pratique. La chambre est grand et très confortable. Nous sommes venus après le mont Rinjani pour se reposer 2/3 jours et c’était parfait !

La salle de bain mériterait d’être refaite

Schöne Villa. Nettes Personal. Wir haben keine anderen Gäste mitbekommen. Es war sehr ruhig und entspannt. Roller konnte organisiert werden.

Das Bad war etwas abgenutzt, was aber in Indonesien Standard ist. Der Abfluss war auch verstopft. Aber das sind nur Kleinigkeiten.

Nous avons adoré la gentillesse du staff notamment de Gil et Nur qui est d’une douceur incroyable et toujours prête à rendre service. La vue depuis le jardin est superbe surtout au coucher du soleil et la piscine est très agréable. Connexion wifi très bien et repas excellents, on recommande à 100% ! Un + aussi pour la laundry, notre linge sent super bon

Todo fue espectacular, desde el trato, la habitación, el desayuno.. Gill la dueña junto con Nur nos recibieron y fueron muy amables en todo momento. El desayuno delicioso preparado y servido al lado de la picina hace que te levantes con una sonrisa. Todo el staff siempre sonriete y muy educado. La habitación perfecta con camas muy cómodas.

The hostess and staff were very friendly and accomodating. They really put thought in giving us a nice experience. We loved the oldschool dvd set-up in the room. The room was very clean and the pool was also great. The view is amazing and the surroundings are calm. Easily accessible by taxi.

Die wunderschöne Außenanlage mit dem klasse Pool, die ruhige Lage sowie die lieben Katzen und sehr freundlichen und zuvorkommenden Mitarbeitenden sowie Gill selbst haben unseren Aufenthalt perfekt gemacht.

Die Lage ist etwas außerhalb am Hang, ein Scooter ist empfehlenswert. Dafür hat man aber eine tolle Aussicht auf das Meer und die Küste.

Tout ! L'hébergement, le calme, le personnel. Nous sommes resté 6 jours et c'était un petit paradis idéal pour finir notre séjour en indonésie ! Merci à gil pour sa gentillesse et qui parles très bien le francais. Merci a Nur, a Jei et a Dénie 🙂

Great, small boutique bungalows with fabulous views, friendly hosts and staff and great pool. We also enjoyed the walks around this lovely area.

Très belle vue, sur les hauteurs de Senggigi, au calme. Gil et son équipe sont adorables, de bons conseils et attentionnés. Jolie chambre et grande douche. La piscine est très agréable, de bonne taille. Les pancakes du petit déjeuner sont excellents. Un peu loin du centre mais nous avions loué une moto pour bouger facilement. La circulation est fluide comparée à Bali aussi louer une voiture est envisageable (ou prendre les taxis). C’est assez central : 45 minutes de Bangsal, 1h30 de Kuta par la voie rapide… On peut aussi se faire livrer des plats et manger sur place. Tout était parfait !

Le côté intimiste du lieu avec très peu de chambres. La grande piscine est superbe et le petit déjeuner au top !

We stayed for almost a week at Villa Karingal and absolutely loved it. Tucked away on a hillside, about 10 minutes’ drive from busy Senggigi, Villa Karingal is perfect for solitude and relaxation. Gill, the owner and visionary behind the villa, is very welcoming and attentive to detail, with an impressive command of local languages, history, and attractions. Charming Nur is in charge of breakfast, cleaning, and—upon request—a soothing massage. Jai and Deni team up for security, maintenance, and tending the tranquil gardens and pool. Very easy to get Bluebird taxis to and from this pocket of paradise too. We can’t recommend Villa Karingal enough!

Villa Karingal is a Special Place. The rooms, the garden and the pool are awesome and especially the view is beautiful! Gill the owner and her staff are just great! Very sweet, helpful and we felt really welcome. You need to have a scooter to get around but that’s no problem. You can also order food which is great (try out Pasta Pojok). But also Nur makes great breakfast and lunch (no dinner). We also did our laundry which turned out to be the best laundry we had on our 6 month trip. We would for sure come again!!

Localization, owner and her staff, breakfast, everything is arranged so that you spend a good time (scooter for instance). Great place, great people!

This place is amazing, you need to stay here! Everything is perfection! From the kind, helpful and friendly staff to the intricately designed and clean rooms. The pool is very clean too, a great temperature with an even better view! We came from the Mount Rinjani trek and this place was exactly what we needed! The breakfast was delicious and the coffee was fabulous too! The staff helped us with our laundry and always did their upmost to help us with any questions we had! A sensational place to relax and enjoy, couldn’t have asked for anything better!

This place really feels like a home away from home! The villa is beautiful with an incredible view up in the mountains. Because it’s a bit further away from Senggigi (about 10 minutes by car) it is peaceful and relaxing, but it’s still easy to get a taxi or to order food for dinner. The owner, Gil, left a lot of recommendations for Lombok that were really helpful (we can especially recommend the Cooking Class) and the staff (especially Nur) really made us feel welcome and comfortable. They seriously go above and beyond here to make this place feel like a home! Also I highly recommend their breakfast, I am still thinking about the Banana Pancake. :-)

We liked everything! If we had to make one suggestion, the shower head in our room could be updated as it leaked a bit.

Everything! Accommodation, views, pool, gorgeous staff, friendly house cats and Gill the fabulous owner. This place tucked away up on a hill was the perfect place for our Lombok getaway. Lovely modern Villas tastefully decorated set amongst a lovely garden and pool, all overlooking a valley to the ocean. Gill has created a little bit of paradise and her attention to detail is evident in the surroundings and her knowledge of the area. Not to mention the lovely Nur will cook you up a great breakfast every morning.

Amazing experience we have here. Incredible facilities, infity swimming pool with chill out zone. The sunsets there are incredible. Best sunsets we had ever seen in Indonesia. Rooms are clean. Chill, relax and take it easy. The owner are so welcoming and people working there are amazing too (specially Jay). If we come back to Lombok we will not have any doubts to come back with them. Beautiful view, clean room, everything worked. Staff attentive and helpful. Helped carry our bags to room and out again. Owner Gill made a point to come chat to us and Majeed sure we happy. Homely vibe.

Limited breakfast… a bit too far to walk to main beach.. but that’s a choice one makes when choosing this villa.

The view from the pool was amazing! In the morning, you can watch the fishing boats go out to their fishing grounds and sail back after they were done. The villa’s location also lends itself to viewing Mt. Agung (if the weather permits), and beautiful sunsets in the evening. The property is very well maintained and contributes to a peaceful setting.

There was nothing about the property that we didn’t like.

Beautiful boutique stay up on a hill overlooking Senggigi. I really enjoyed waking up and looking out into the distance at the sea. Nur the housekeeper is very friendly and sweet and very welcoming! My room was also very comfortable. I had a bit of a mixup regarding my booking dates but Gill was very kind and accommodating about it- thank you Gill. I’ll definitely come back with family!

Unbelievable value for money here. The location is tranquil and beautiful, the staff are super helpful and friendly and the breakfast and food in general is absolutely fantastic.

Villa Karingal is just an awesome place for a beautiful stay for two. It is located on a hill, with an astonishing view over the ocean. It’s super quiet, has a great property layout and nice spots to enjoy the view and to have a meal, like in the gazebo or your own private front porch. The entire staff is just super welcoming and friendly. They always had good advice and were thinking ahead when scheduling daily activities. Gill, the host, completes this team with her expertise and well connected social network, to make the time even more memorable! We highly advise you to book here, to make your time in Senggigi better than anywhere else. Especially if you wanna have a good, homemade breakfast made by Nur, the housekeeper! PS: try the banana pancake, it’s superb!

Of course, nothings 100% perfect and surely there are minor details, like partially aged furniture, that could be improved.

If you’re searching for a place to relax in Senggigi area, this is the one to choose. Everything was perfect. The breakfast delicious, the place quiet and comfortable, the staff really nice and helpful. We booked also a massage and was really nice. Definitely the best place where we’ve been in Lombok.

A home away from Home

We loved the seclusion of the place, the refreshing pool with its beautiful view, and the pretty garden. It was great to end each day with a dip in the pool and be able to sit out and enjoy the stars. Although it requires a short taxi ride out to the main street, it is easy to order food in. The rooms were comfortable. We wanted to stay in the villa all day.

A minor point that the bathroom is starting to look a little old and the shower drain takes time to clear, but it is clean and spacious and the shower itself works well.

Exceptional place to relax for a few days. We booked for 4 nights but realised we could have based ourselves here to explore Lombok. The view from the terraces and the pool are wonderful. A cool sea-breeze helps with the warm days, and sunset on the roof is just marvellous. Breakfast was individually prepared from super fresh ingredients each day, and the rooms are spacious and comfortable. Villa Karingal has a home away from home vibe. It’s up the hill, out of the main town but everything is easily accessible by scooter or a very inexpensive taxi ride. Delivery services are also available if you don’t want to leave. We took a tour to Tetebatu which was fab, and there were many other options available as well. We also went to the Southern Beaches and the nearby Turtle Conservation. Would love to come back.

What an amazing place! I stayed here for a week with my partner and we were made so welcome by the owner Gill and her lovely staff Nur, Agus and Jae. The villa is wonderfully situated up the hill, just a short 5 minute taxi drive from town, with wonderful views out to sea. The room was immaculate, Nur’s breakfasts were delicious, and the pool and whole property is beautifully designed making for a peaceful oasis like no other. We’ll definitely be back.

The staff was super nice. Very helpful and always smiling. Very easy to rent a scooter (even a bigger one!). Located on a hill with a stunning view. Few selections for breakfast but very delicious.

Rooms could be a little bit cleaner and some stuff could need an upgrade, but that's complaining on a high level.

The staff were fantastic, the location was amazing, the views were breath taking, the owner Gill was super accommodating & was a wealth of knowledge when it came to organising day trips. The breakfast was exceptional. The infinity pool had stunning views out over the ocean....the list goes on.

A little peace of Paradise! Beautiful guesthouse on a hill in Lombok. Views are to die for, be it the sun setting behind Mount Agung on Bali, the fishermen’s colourful boats sailing home from a nights fishing, the lights in the darkness, the fishermen on the ocean or the stars in the sky. Gill (British Expat) and her staff do everything they can to make your stay magical. Staying poolside and relaxing or taking a trip to the hidden Gili’s to snorkel and eat fish freshly plucked from the sea, it’s up to you! Restaurant recommendations or meeting other expats for dinner one night, a fascinating insight into life in Lombok and a truly lovely few days. Not does amazing massages poolside! We are sorry not to stay longer and plan to be back.

The location of the villa gave an amazing view across the beautiful bay. The environment was really luxurious and at the same time we felt very much at home at the villa. Gill was a fabulous host.she couldn't do enough to help make our Lombok experience the best possible. She is an outstanding advocate for the beautiful island and its amazing people. The staff at the villa were so kind and accomodating. They had amazing 💓.

Good location overlooking Sengiggi. The two female staff are fantastic. One also provides a great massage service. Meals made on site and great value. 5 minute taxi to Sengiggi and 20 minutes to Mataram ($6AU)

Great hotel with very friendly and helpful staff! Perfect location right across from the beach. Great snorkelling with the turtles! Many thanks to Andy and the staff for a pleasant four days!
