Reviewed Aug 30, 2026Sehr grosses schönes Zimmer. Sehr freundliche Vermieterin die allerdings per Handy zuerst von unserer Ankunft informiet werden mußte. Wildtiere (bei uns Kudus und Affen) sind häufig direkt am Haus. Giraffen waren auf der Zufahrt und "blockierten" die Straße.
Zufahrt etwas schwierig, da durch Unwetter die Strassen stark beschädigt sind.

The lodge is surrounded by the nature of Marlot Park surrounded by beautiful animals such as zebras, giraffes, lumba, impalas. Bernadette helped us book two safaris and the beautiful trip to Eswatini with a local operator. If you are lucky enough to go to SERENITY you will love it.

Bernadet was incredibly kind and helpful from the very beginning, always attentive and happy to answer all my questions, especially regarding logistics, safaris and getting around. Everything was very well organised, and I felt really well looked after. I would definitely recommend this place!
There was nothing we didn’t like about the accommodation. The only thing I would mention is that having a rental car would make getting around much easier, as the location is not the easiest to access without your own transport. We didn’t have a car because we were travelling from Mozambique, so we were a little more limited. However, Bernadet was incredibly kind and even took us to the supermarket and out for dinner, which was so thoughtful. She had also warned us beforehand about the importance of having a car, so we knew what to expect. Overall, it was not an issue with the accommodation itself, just something to keep in mind depending on your travel plans.

Reviewed Aug 12, 2026Lovely room, our host kindly upgraded us to a better room and was really friendly and helpful. There is a great communal kitchen. Location by the Crocodile River is great. You can stroll along the fence and see lots of wildlife. We had a great time there.
Unfortunately a power cut in the evening and into the morning, but there is a big gas cooker so not a problem to boil water and cook breakfast.

Creiem que la cuina ja ha donat tot el que podia donar i cal invertir-hi per la comoditat dels hostes alhora de fer els seus àpats,sinó resulta molt més pràctic anar a un restaurant proper. S'encenia amb llumins i dels 6 fogons només funcionava 1. Cal comprar també una nova torradora.

Прекрасный лодж для комфортного, спокойного отдыха практически наедине с природой. При этом есть всё необходимое, включая большую кухню, укомплектованную техникой и посудой. Бернадет огромное спасибо за гостеприимство и заботу!!! С удовольствием вернемся ещё!

I really appreciate it. 5* hospitality honestly. The lodge is amazing, loved it. I loved the surroundings, loved the animals that came close, loved the huge cozy and beautiful room, loved the well-equipped and spacious kitchen. I would love to have stayed longer. It's a peaceful and beautiful place. I highly recommend it! Thank you ever so much for your hospitality and making this place my home away from home.

Reviewed Jun 7, 2026Wir hatten einen wunderbaren Aufenthalt in der Serentity du Bois Lodge im Merloth Park und können die Unterkunft uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen. Bereits im Vorfeld war die Kommunikation mit Bernadette hervorragend – schnell, unkompliziert per Whattsapp und sehr herzlich. Bei unserer Ankunft wurden wir äußerst freundlich von Savannah empfangen, die während unseres gesamten Aufenthalts hilfsbereit und aufmerksam war. Als wir später noch nach einem Föhn fragten, wurde uns dieser sofort zur Verfügung gestellt. Besonders gefallen hat uns die liebevoll gestaltete Unterkunft. Der offene Wohnbereich wirkt durch die freigelegte Dachkonstruktion sehr großzügig und einladend. Die hohen Decken schaffen ein tolles Raumgefühl und verleihen der Unterkunft einen ganz besonderen Charme. Auch der Balkon mit Blick ins Grüne lädt zum Entspannen ein. Die Gemeinschaftsküche ist hervorragend ausgestattet und bietet wirklich alles, was man benötigt. Besonders praktisch fanden wir, dass jeder Gast sogar seinen eigenen Kühlschrank zur Verfügung hat. Wir haben uns rundum wohlgefühlt – nicht zuletzt wegen der außergewöhnlichen Gastfreundschaft von Bernadette und Savannah. Vielen Dank für den schönen Aufenthalt, wir kommen gerne wieder!

Maar vooral de eigenaresse Bernadette maakt het verschil! Echte gastvrijheid, uitzwaaien bij vertrek en daarna nog een appje voor een goede reis en dank voor het verblijf! Al was de lodge matig geweest (is hij zeker niet!) dan nog hadden we een 10 gegeven
Door de recente vele regenval is het laatste stukje van de onverharde weg nog wat verder weggespoeld waardoor je een beetje een hindernisparcours met de auto moet afleggen. Als je rustig aan doet gaat het prima

Reviewed May 19, 2026Accommodation was spacious, spotless, and comfortable. The host Bernadette went above and beyond to make sure that I (and other guests) were well looked after. I've never before experienced a host who provides mosquito spray, or takes the time to explain all the nearby facilities and attractions, and I even heard her arranging with another guest (who had no car) to pick up some items from the shop for him. The location is within easy walking distance of the river. There was one large, well equipped communal kitchen which may not be to everyone's liking, but many will enjoy mixing and mingling with other guests, and sharing stories of the days sightings. My unit had a private patio with a braai as well.

Reviewed May 14, 2026Wir hatten eine tolle Zeit Bernadette, die sehr freundlich war und uns mit Tips versorgt hat. Das Zimmer war gross und wir hatten eine eigene Veranda, auf der wir lecker grillen konnten und Besuch von Kudus hatten.
Die Zimmer sind etwas dunkel und haben die besten Jahre hinter sich- allerdings passt es für das Preis-Leistungsverhäktnis sehr gut. Die Zufahrtstrasse war sehr ausgewaschen durch die letzten Regenfälle, was es manchmal etwas anstrengend machte und etwas länger Zeit brauchte, aber alles machbar

Le logement est propre, la literie confortable, situé proche du Kruger avec la rivière à deux pas du logement pour se balader au lever du soleil. On est en plein dans la forêt et entouré d’animaux (impala, phacochère, mangouste etc..) Quel dépaysement !

Didn't have any hot water on our first night which was disappointing after an 11 hour day in the car. To be fair, this had more to do with neighbours who spent a LONG time showering and using all the warm water. The second night all was back to normal.

La communication avec Bernadette a été très fluide et cette personne nous a beaucoup aidés. Parking sécurisé dans la propriété. Petit déjeuner possible dans la cuisine partagée avec les autres clients. Chambre propre. Si je devais revenir faire un safari je reviendrai à cet hôtel. Merci beaucoup pour tout Bernadette :)

From the second-floor balcony, we saw many animals eating below, including seven different species such as zebras, African warthogs, and antelopes. It was a wonderful experience. Lying on the balcony sofa watching the animals safari was fantastic.

The beds have frames which means tall people can't stretch their legs. We're a family of tall people so beds without the bottom frame are preferred for us.

There was a load shedding during our stay but it wasn't a train smash because it was during the day not night.

Great facilities, feels very private, however if you need the host, she is available and responsive. I visited a few guest homes in Marloth Park and the dipping pool, lounge area and kitchen at Serenity Du Bois was my favorite that I saw. I would stay again next time I am back! We enjoyed the Kudu, Bushbuck, nyala and zebras around the lodge; also the morning walks along the river path.

Есть полностью укомплектованная общая кухня и парковка на несколько машин. В 4-5 км от лоджа имеется Spar и несколько ресторанов. Бернадет всегда на связи и готова помочь! Спасибо за незабываемый отдых!!!
Не хотелось уезжать, но мы обязательно вернёмся!

Reviewed Jan 20, 2026L’accueil de Bernadette a été exceptionnel, personne très accueillante. L’emplacement est magnifique, très calme en plein milieu de la nature et très proche du parc Kruger. Sachant que vous êtes déjà dans un parc lorsque vous dormez chez Bernadette le matin, vous pouvez déjeuner avec des antilopes à la terrasse, croiser boumba le phacochère et plein d’autres animaux. Bref, je recommande cet endroit sans hésiter.
