The Park Hotel Peebles

Very pleasant stay, lovely evening meal and very good breakfast. Peebles itself it quite charming too.

Nice hotel, we had a feature bedroom which was spacious and comfortable although it really needs handrails in the bathroom to get out of the narrow bath!. Guests can use the facilities including the pool at the sister Peebles Hydro hotel about 2 minutes drive away. Handy for walking into Peebles high street and the river walks. Good choice of meals in the bar which were reasonably priced and excellent.

The staff are very helpful and could not do enough to help you. Room 82 is compact but clean. The breakfast was great. Brilliant location in the heart of Peebles with lots of beautiful walks.

The room was a bit small and only had 1 chair

A relaxing and quiet place with excellent service from staff. Would recommend

The room was fine. Good firm superking bed. Room was large.nice clean bathroom. Shower was terrible. No pressure. Good selection of things to eat at breakfast. Didn't really enjoy the cooked breakfast. Friendly staff. Old fashioned hotel and very quiet and peaceful.

Nice old piece of history. Staff was excellent throughout the hotel. Great food too.

Lovely breakfast. Friendly staff

Awesome welcome, very nice hotel environment and food was super.

Lovely hotel, friendly staff, good quality food. Rooms are a little on the small side, and very warm (probably usually not an issue, but we stayed during a heatwave). Beautiful location in the center of Peebles.

Struttura accogliente con Parcheggio.Pulizia e Camera ben servita.Personale disponibile.Colazione ricca e possibile cena in albergo o ristoranti raggiungibili a piedi. Soddisfatti!!!!

Pleasently surprised!!!

Great value for money.

Great location at the end of the high street. Good food and nice gardens for having a drink etc. Nice dog friendly.

Nice hotel, good area, very friendly staff

lovely comfortable hotel with welcoming staff

Easy to get to, good parking, can walk into town. Staff were friendly, good breakfast, fantastic views (from some of the rooms).

On a cycling trip, staff very helpful and managed secure our bikes in storage with early access next morning, food excellent

Clean room, delicious breakfast

We spent 4 lovely nights at this hotel with a wonderful group of staff in every area including the big sister Hydro hotel up the hill nearby. We ate in the bar one evening having delicious soup starters and burgers with drinks for a reasonable £50 . The breakfast was buffet style with served hot full Scottish or vegetarian equivalent. Both were great quality and cooked to perfection. There is an inhouse bakery, which we had to sample, and the cakes were delicious. We saw amazing looking sausage rolls but didn't get round to trying them. Next time! We used the pool, spa, gym and outdoor tennis facilities for free at the Peebles Hydro, paying £10 pp extra for our kids to join us for a Mother's Day celebration. We had one significant issue during our stay which we have detailed below and the reason we have not given the hotel a 5-star review. Our allocated room was above the main kitchen and on speaking to the hotel they dealt with it very well. We highly recommend both The Park for a relaxing weekend or holiday stay. Beware of Rooms 75 & 76... we paid an additional fee for a 'feature' room upgrade , on entering it we became aware of a loud 'generator' noise. While sorting the safe in the room a member of staff informed us that it would stop later. The following morning we were awoken around 7:30am by the same noise, staff talking and the thud of a 'cold store door'. We spoke to the Operations Manager, who compensated us appropriately.

Great long weekend at the Park. Ideal location, well looked after and very good breakfast options

Hotel room was small but clean and comfy I would say the only downfall was the bathroom The toilet was wedged in between the wall and sink an kept catching the sink unit when going the toilet

Excellent very quiet lovely breakfast.Dtaff very friendly and helpful

We were in two rooms, the sanatory fitments were loose. However te hotel food was fine and the location was good for u eg close to shops.

Arrived early as requested via app to be disappointed and turned away with no option but to find somewhere to go for a couple of hours however the hotel is lovely … rooms immaculate and staff after our initial meeting were lovely and accommodating . Breakfast which is included also very nice and plentiful . The hotel has a bakery / cafe which we had lunch in and over all we enjoyed our stay at the Park hotel . The hotel is close to the town and the park on the Yweed had lovely views and walks . Would recommend but with the side not of no early check in available .

Great stay with friendly staff

Lovely hotel. Friendly helpful staff. Perfect position for visiting Peebles. Nice breakfast. Cooked to order. Stayed before and will definitely stay again

The Park Hotel met our needs for a nights stay in Peebles, It was very comfortable, the food was great and the staff were welcoming and friendly. Peebles is a quaint little town and we thoroughly enjoyed it.

This is a quirky older hotel that has been modernised in places. The room where we had breakfast was a magnificent wood panelled room with a lovely view. The rooms at the back of the hotel had lovely views too. We had dinner in the bar and the food was very good. The staff were friendly and helpful. We had a wonderful two night stay

Very enjoyable stay, breakfast not enjoyable also evening meal not enjoyable food dry and overcooked. But a lovely pint of Guinness

Excellent location with good parking. Reasonably comfortable, but bathroom cramped with toilet really squashed in a corner. Breakfast service was poor, however after speaking to manager it was greatly improved on the last day. Compared to other hotels I have stayed in within the Peebles area I did not feel that the price paid was justified.

The hot water in our room was luke warm at best. Serge, the young man on reception, was fantastic. He immediately showed us another room to see if we liked it & made sure the water was hot. He was genuinely helpful, kind and friendly. A credit to the hotel.

The bathroom was too small in our room and could not sit on it comfortably, I could not stand in the shower because of sloping ceiling. The room was hot, no fan .

Excellent stay, lovely old style hotel, stunning views, good food, friendly staff, recommended. Made use of the Hydro leisure facilities too!

We had 3 very enjoyable days at the Park in Peebles-especially good were the lovely friendly staff and the relaxed atmosphere! The bar food was very good and well presented( esp lamb ribs) We definitely would like a return visit!

The hotel is awesome. There is a wonderful breakfast (included), a bakery, and restaurant & bar onsite. The hotel is right in town with ample parking. The room is nice and the bathroom is great. Highly, highly recommend!!

Rather a waste of time booking in online as requested by email prior to stay as all info had to be completed on physical book in anyway. Very small room - should really be just a single bed. Very nice decor. Armchair should be swapped out for an upright dining chair to create a little more space. This would also be higher and perhaps allow use of the wall mirror whlist seated (the wall mirror is too high to be of any use whilst sitting at the table). En suite door hinges need oiling as they squeak loudly, which is particulalry noisy during the night.

Sadly, the hotel wasn’t quite sure what it was supposed to be old or new, a mixture of odd furniture and decor. Lacking in atmosphere overall. Staff wearing a badge FOH- which means - Front of house - why not just provide a badge that states their job & name Breakfast would have more efficient if it was a full buffet rather than order through the kitchen for a cooked meal No information in the bedroom re facilities. We went out to eat due to lack of enticement to remain menu/dining room Plus side ideal for stroll into town Receptionist kindly posted my wasbag which I left & staff tried their best We would not return sadly

Excellent service from very friendly and helpful staff. The room was a standard double with a very comfortable bed but the bathroom was poorly designed with a very small toilet seating area next to a small wash handbasin installed with a large surround which, if smaller, would have made using the toilet more comfortable. When booking again would definitely request a larger bathroom. Good breakfast choices and easy parking for an overnight stay. Thank you.

Can’t fault the staff. Only let down was the shower no control on temperature

Stayed for 2 nights with a dog. Very friendly, good food. Location good for walks along the river, shops and bars with food.

This was our second stay at The Park. The staff were nice, the food was good. Our issue is with the refurbishment of one part of the hotel. The designer of the en-suite, was able to put an overly large stand for the basin, but to not leave enough space for a normal sized adult to sit and use the toilet!! When I spoke to the receptionist the next morning, she explained that it had been refurbished 2 years ago and though they had told the powers that be, they would not do anything about it, because the refurb. was so recent!! I would love get one of the top bosses down and make him try to sit on the toilet, never mind trying to do anything else, that is normal on a toilet and see how he likes it. It was also made harder, by the toilet paper holder, being attached to the wall, just a few inches in front of the toilet, so you did not have to try and squeeze into a tight space, but dodge the toilet paper en route!! Unfortunately, I had unpacked and organised our overnight things, before trying the toilet.

The staff at the hotel were lovely and made us feel very welcome.

I look on The Park as a home from home. Warm welcome, friendly efficient staff and I enjoyed a lovely evening meal which was perfectly cooked. There is, also, ample secure parking. Sue Mackay

Very friendly staff and plenty interesting things to do, like walking, shopping and cycling and plenty countryside to explore.

Lovely helpful staff but just felt the standard double room on level 2 was so small for comfort. One side of the bed did not have a light switch or side table. I moved the tea table to the side of the bed but then you had to move it back to get out the door. Also there were problems with the light switch. Discovered you need to put 2 keys in to keep the lights on. Just fit a new key unit? Breakfast was nice and plenty of choice and the star of the show is the parking facilities. If you struggle with mobility the lift only goes the the first floor.

Great service very helpful staff

Chose the Park Hotel for its location to the town centre. On arrival there were plenty of spaces in the on site carpark. Reception staff were friendly and professional. Our room was on the first floor with an out look of the kitchen roof. The bathroom was spacious with good quality toiletries. The bedroom had no wardrobe only a built in cupboard with shelves, so unable to hang up a suit or dress . The bed was very hard as were the pillows. We had to open the window at night as the room was very hot, but were kept awake due to the noise from the fan on the kitchen roof. The cooked breakfast was made to order and you would expect it to be hot but wasn when it arrived. Due to lack of a good night sleep we would not return nor recommend.

Staff were exceptionally helpful and went the extra mile

A great hotel, centrally located. Very helpful and friendly staff. Had a really nice room overlooking the hills, had a good meal in the bar. Great hill walking in the area

Was very pleasant, food was good and reasonably priced. The service was excellent and friendly. Location great for dog walks and shopping.

Fairly old building and rather dated. Room over the main entrance so disturbed one night by a very noisy drunk unable to get in after hours. Restaurant good with a nice garden. Electric car charger, dog friendly

A very comfortable and pleasant stay

Staff all very efficient, friendly and helpful, from top to bottom!

Excellent location and clean and well maintained Friendly staff and able to use the pool at the Peebles Hydro was nice Cooked breakafast was great Well worth a visit

The rooms were very good comfortable beds made up daily the restaurant very good food breakfast was also great couldn’t fault anything just a short stroll into the town of Peebles

Very nice place with good food. Excellent breakfast. All staff extremely polite and very helpful. Rooms a little bit small but didn’t spoil our overnight stay.

Really enjoyed our stay at the Park. Lots of free parking. Hotel staff very friendly and helpful. The hotel is very convenient for walking into centre of Peebles.

Dinner on day of arrival was excellent. Breakfast was amazing

My room was ok but near something that was making a generator-type noise whi h didnt make for a good nights sleep. Would suggest a hairdryer in the room and a chair at the dressing table where you can actually see yourself in the mirror. A magnifying mirror would also be useful. Staff were really friendly and helpful, but on occasion reception took a few attempts to answer the phone.

Although very quiet at this time of year, staff were so very friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was superb. The Park is perfectly located within Peebles being only a few minutes walking time into town. Plenty of free parking.

We have stayed at this hotel several times before. It's a lovely hotel with character with outstanding staff and a friendly bar with excellent (very tasty) meal options. Two big plusses: good location at the end of Peebles High Street - easy walk to coffee and other restaurants, also free access to Peebles Hydro fitness suite and lovely swimming pool. Oh! third big plus - excellent breakfast. Keith

The staff were amazing, very friendly and helpful.

Great staff and location. No walk-in shower in rooms which made it difficult for my disabled wife. Suggest grab rail above bath would help. Otherwise we really enjoyed our stay and the little patisserie was much frequented by us.

Really helpfull staff, clean well equiped room. There was a bath in room which was great to soak and relax in. Also free access to Hydro Hotel gym and pool facilities 2mins away.

Nice quiet, gentle place, lovely staff.

We had a lovely stay at the Park - reception Mari was so friendly and helpful during our stay!

From arrival to departure service was too notch, got booked in early and upgraded without asking. Had problem with TV in room, offered another room with upgrade. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff wether it be reception, cafe, bar or restaurant. Will use again without a doubt. Special thanks to Val, who worked amazingly, her customer service skills were excellent, in fact all the staff were great. Thank you for a fabulous stay.

Friendly helpful check-in staff. Hotel a little tired in some areas

Excellent hotel and location was perfect

We had a lovely stay, great breakfast, lovely staff and our room was very comfortable.

Very disappointing, Using COVID as an excuse, lack of staff, room not serviced, dining room tables not set (diy) and floor not hoovered or swept. Paying a premium price for a room with a view we were dissatisfied with our stay.

Val front of House was as always amazing, she always looks after us and all other guests,

The ‘Park’ was really very good and so much better than some of the hotels we have used locally. Another plus was that they did not charge for our two dogs. Breakfast was great and prepared for us with whatever we wanted and not a buffet that was sitting out for hours. Overall I would happily recommend it to anyone.

The bathroom is rather cramped and would certainly be a problem for 'overweight' people

The staff were excellent; friendly, happy, professional and couldn`t do enough to assist you.

We had a great time in your hotel, going out and about as well

Booked this hotel for 70thbirthday stay a party of eight .there was refurbishment going on at the hotel . Our room was not complete the bathroom still needed work ,no shower rail or curtain ,no grips on bath to help you get out ,no heated towel rail bathroom was freezing .the rail got fitted next day ,really very hot to touch could not turn it down .also rail had been fitted to toilet roll fitting to close to get the roll on .the toilet is fitted to close to the hand basin

The property is lovely and really handy for everything as it's situated on the main street of Peebles.

We booked this hotel knowing that it was in the process of being refurbished and the reviews regarding the quality of the food and the friendliness of the staff. We were not disappointed the staff were very friendly and apologised in advance for any noise due to the refurbishment. We were told that we had one of the refurbished rooms and the electric towel rail in the bathroom had not yet been fitted we did not have a problem with that. The room was lovely and warm we had fresh towels, toiletries, tea, coffee and biscuits! The bed was also very comfortable no complaints. We had dinner in the hotel and the reviews were spot on the food was superb as was breakfast so nice to have breakfast cooked to order. We would definitely recommend this Hotel.

It is a shame when you have to be critical - however, my wife and I were part of a wedding party - many stayed at the hotel and would have been fine, I am sure. Unfortunately, my wife and I were assigned a refurbished room - #87. Bathroom was cold as the hearing unit was not installed - wires were simply protruding from the wall. The bed was OK; the pillows were awful. The first nightly wife rolled up her coat as that was ore comfortable than the pillows. No shampoo or kleenex - easily fixable if there was some on the front desk....NOTE: There is not room service or front desk support at night. The lack of a telephone in the room to "call down" obviously made no difference. So, why the "beef"? Because, addressing these concerns the next morning, VERY POLITELY, I was told in no uncertain terms that this was "our fault" because the hotel had to improve some of there rooms "...for our wedding party!" We were guests of the bride and groom, but really did not think it was our responsibility to ensure the hotel was ready for its guests!!! The lady who checked us in Friday night, and who was present the txt morning DID NOT handle this well, as you can gather from her comment! OK, enough on this. Breakfast was excellent; the hotel is VERY conveniently located; and as long as you are not assigned a "nearly, but not quite completely refurbished room" you should be fine. A different lady helped with check-out on Sunday morning and was delightful.

Good location Needs some TLC

Very nice. Great location. Centrally located. Free parking.

Good hotel for the price. Excellent location, in the centre of Peebles near shops and pubs. Excellent parking, free to guests. Good reasonably priced hotel bar and restaurant. And the views from most rooms exceptional. Rooms differ from smallish to huge, just luck of the draw. Breakfast was good standard with good choices. Most staff were polite and helpful. The only small niggle was some of the bathrooms are a little tired and need fixing up. And the cleaning staff need to be more thorough. Dirty cups, cobwebs and dust. Dirty window cills. Would stay again and take my own duster.

A really good value stay in a single room: often these can be cramped, but this was spacious with a view of the garden. Staff were friendly and efficient and the breakfast excellent. As a bonus, staying here allows you to use the pool and other facilities at Peebles Hydro, a five minute walk away.

Fabulous staff in all departments. Food was good and plentiful. Rooms a bit basic and could do with the paintwork refresh but everything lovely and clean. Good secure parking. Would stay again.

Good and very conveniently placed but a little worn and dark in places

Last minute overnight stay and really enjoyed our break nice clean rooms and comfy bed, decent breakfast. Would definitely rebook.

Surprisingly large room to say it was a single. Decor a bit dated. Pillows were very very hard. Very polite staff.

Cannot comment on whether our room was their standard cleanliness but the carpet was filthy with what looked like black oil spots and we found peanuts under the dressing table. Also the toilet seat needed attention. Otherwise the bed was clean and comfortable, Breakfast was well cooked and the service was ok.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Remembered my husband and I from when we stayed on a previous visit. It was a late booking but still very attentive. Room was clean very comfortable with all that was required for our short stay.

I thought the all the staff are very helpful and courteous. The room well appointed and clean. The bar is well stocked and good prices. The only quibble i may have is the breakfast was a little small (only the cooked breakfast)

Friendly. Clean. Good freshly cooked breakfast. Slightly dated but didn't matter to us.

The people who work there are very friendly and helpful. The food was excellent. The decor was eclectic and comfortable with a few rough edges but not enough to raise a fuss. I will be going back next time I am in Peebles.

Good Location. Clean. Friendly staff.

great 2 night stay breakfast and dinner excellent .only 1 small compliant shower too cramped

A great place to stay. Our 2nd visit. You can use pool at the hydro and evening entertainment. Its just over £3 in a taxi or a short walk. Breakfast at the park is lovely. Would highly recomend.

Hotel close to town centre with excellent parking facilities. Staff are very friendly. Lovely garden area to sit and enjoy a refreshment and sunshine.

Clean ,, and friendly staff

The sitting room needs to get rid of the 60s type furnature to move back to its more contemporary Edwardian style, allowing it to blend in with its oak panels and chandeliers...Nice place.
