Received a voucher for afternoon tea for 2 people so took my friend this afternoon. Very underwhelming experience. Cakes and scones were hard and dry. They definitely weren’t fresh. One cake was completely inedible. I mentioned it to the waitress and she replaced it with a second brownie. Waitresses were lovely and kept us topped up with pots of tea. I was embarrassed that about taking my friend there as I thought it would be a lovely experience. Sadly it was the opposite.
Glad to see that the Parkmore has done away with the policy of taking bookings via Booking.com on a 'pay at the property' basis then expecting payment in advance on check-in, even for a multi-night stay. This time at least it was made clear that payment would be taken in advance. Breakfast good - and finally kippers have been taken off the menu after years of being on but never available. Helpful staff lent me an extension lead in case my single room was one of those where the kettle cable is too short to reach the table from the socket!
But the extension lead didn't work! Never mind, the kettle cable was long enough
Booked for the pool but notavailable for our stay. We were really disappointed at this.
No lock on toilet door. Lack of storage.
Very disappointed was refused dinner. Told chef no mor orders an hour earlier than advertised last orders. Had enquired earlier in the day if I needed to book a table for diner and was told no,just turn up. I did and was refused.duty manger spoke to me after I asked reception if they could recommend somewhere as kitchen was closing early. Duty manager very apologetic but if he was sincere he would have made some token gesture or allowance in my bill.
Location
Booked for an overnight with the intention of using pool and spa was made aware 2 hrs before we arrived that it wasn’t open due to refurbishment Would have been a nice gesture to upgrade our room or a free drink etc didn’t even get a discount really disappointed Also room wasn’t 100% clean there was a plaster and a gummy sweet on the floor
Excellent staff

We had a room for the 4 of us which was spacious and clean , excellent price , didn’t get a chance to enjoy the spa as it was the World Cup final lol
I stayed at The Parkmore to visit family and friends and couldn’t be more pleased with my stay. The staff are what make The Parkmore; so friendly and so welcoming. I travelled alone for the first time in a while and, as an autistic person, felt comfortable to let the staff know this. Heartfelt thanks go to Joanne who helped me with a minor wobble! She helped me move rooms without fuss, without question - your understanding meant more than you may realise! I chose the hotel because of its ideal location to visit family and friends, and is so close to Yarm. It’s accessible by foot, bus, or taxi. I enjoyed a wonderful sunny walk through Preston Park over the road, too, reminiscing my childhood years spent exploring the woods! I was extremely impressed with the gym, which was another reason I chose to stay there. It’s equipped with Technogym equipment which meant I could use my app as if training in my local gym, which I loved! The atmosphere at the hotel was very friendly and released, not overly busy. I enjoyed a cooked breakfast in the restaurant on one morning of my three-night stay. The hotel advertises that there is an imminent refurbishment on the way, which I think is somewhat timely, as the rooms, whilst comfortable and totally suitable, could do with an upgrade, aesthetically. However, refurbishment or not, I’d be back to stay at The Parkmore in a heartbeat. What a great hotel, great staff, with extremely good value for money. It’s very clean, it’s comfy, it’s exactly what you need for your stay without paying over-inflated prices of B&Bs in Yarm. Thank you again - I look forward to coming back soon! 🙌
Location is great, nice area compared to surrounding areas. Which isn't difficult. The place is clean and tidy. I stayed there 4 times within the 2 weeks and room towards front of hotel are alot nicer and better standard than the ones at the back of hotel.. I thought for the money they should include breakfast.

Nice staff. Breakfast choice good.
Pool and spa area very worn and in need of improvement. Lots of bits broken in that area. Rooms ok and clean but in need of update
It’s a nice hotel, I stayed last year, so it was a go to for this year.
Very little
Very clean and staff were really helpful especially haley Abbie and amelia

It was comfy and food was nice the staff where amay and friendly
The spa really spoiled it as I got hurt as the head rest in the big hot tub was broke and nipped me as was the railing to get in and out and as I'm disabled I rely on this to get in and out this was really disappointing and the floor to the small hot tub was not right and the side of the small hot tub was broken
Really nice atmosphere throughout, staff where very friendly and made you feel relaxed. The access to gym and swimming pool made a big impact, fantastic facilities.

Location
No one available to do check in , no one on desk when checking out at 9am. Room next to office so people opening and locking door. Carpets very old and tired. No plug sockets next to the bed. Didn’t feel safe walking from the back of car park in the dark.
Stayed for one night only but will definitely go back. The room was excellent. Very clean indeed. Wendy on reception was so friendly and helpful. The leisure centre was outstanding and the food delightful. Can’t say enough nice things about this hotel. Next time will go for the weekend. Yarm centre is a five minute drive and a great night out with lots of bars and restaurants along with some fantastic shops.

It’s very comfortable
We booked this hotel specifically because it had a pool, and according to the hotel's website, children under 16 must leave the leisure facilities after 6pm. My son is 16, so we expected he would be able to use the facilities without any issues. Unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing. On our first night, the pool was closed. On the second night, the leisure manager told my son he had to leave the pool because he was under 18. This directly contradicted both the information on the website and the fact that he had been allowed to use the other leisure facilities after 6pm the previous evening. When I questioned the policy, staff were unable to show me anything online stating that the age limit was 18. Rather than trying to resolve the issue, the duty manager was dismissive and rudely said, "All complaints come to me anyway," when I explained I would be making a complaint. As the pool was the sole reason we chose this hotel, this was incredibly frustrating. I've even included a photo of the hotel's own information stating that the restriction applies to those under 16. It's such a shame because the hotel itself is lovely. The rooms are beautiful, the facilities (when we were actually allowed to use them) are excellent, and our evening meal was one of the nicest we've had in a long time. Breakfast wasn't quite as impressive, although there was plenty of choice. Overall, this could have been a fantastic stay, but inconsistent policies and poor customer service left us feeling very disappointed. I don't mind rules when they're clear and applied consistently, but that simply wasn't the case here.

Room was nice Quiet hotel
No smart tv No fridge in room Limited food menu £100 deposit on arrival we where in awear of
Friendly staff, good breakfast, ideal location, ample parking
Mattress too soft, no extract fan in the en-suite, plug in the sink needs unblocking, no bottled water provided, no fridge,
Beautiful building, lovely breakfast, spacious room
Room layout/facilities weren't laid out particularly effectively. Not enough plug sockets and the ones that were there were in awkward spaces. You had to put the kettle on the floor to boil it, same for the iron, and using things like hairdryers was also difficult.
Friendly staff, clean room, good food, good facilities, great value for money.
The TV was abit out of date, would have been good to have streaming services.
Friendly and helpful staff my room key was taken by my cousin who left through the night and staff helped me straight away
Nothing
Great location, the staff were fantastic. First stay in one of the newly redecorated rooms. Charming place
The location near Eaglescliffe Golf Club
I booked a junior suite. The layout of the room was terrible. The small ‘lounge’ area has no window and is literally a waste of space. The breakfast was terrible. We had to ask the young man who was on duty for a number of things as items had run out and the quality of the produce was very poor.
Had an absolutely fantastic stay at this hotel. The location couldn't have been more perfect for accessing Eaglescliffe golf course, quite literally a 2 minute walk. The staff went above and beyond and were so welcoming and friendly. A particular mention to Amelia who nothing was too much trouble for, and allowed us to store our clubs in the function room. Also, to Wendy who always enquired about how our day on the golf course had gone, these little touches really made the stay. The staff really seem to enjoy their job and are a credit to the hotel. We only had breakfast at the hotel, but it was deeeelicious! The pancakes with Nutella and strawberries were 10/10. The room was everything it needed to be, airy, clean, and with a lovely soft comfortable bed. A great night's sleep every night, would definitely return is visiting the area again. Rebecca
I am not a prolific review writer but felt compelled to on this occaision as I thought some of the other reviews were a tad unfair - This is the third time I have stayed here in the last year - to attend family events. The hotel is a really good option if you are staying on Teeside - The rooms that we have had (we have two rooms each stau) have been modern, clean and well equipped - The vreakfast were good, with a wide selection and cooked promtly - The gym and spa whilst not state of the art are fine - the steam room and sauna good. Some of the areas look a little tired and the bar is a little souless - but overall it is a pleasant place to stay - What was particulary good was the findliness and helpfulness of all the memebers of staff we dealt with - The only this I would change is the availability of accessible rooms - Certainly it desrves better than the review rating it currently has
Nothing
Booked it a last minute thing and I can see why now never again Nosiest place we've ever stopped in Someone's toe nail clipping all the bathroom and bedroom
The pool as always
I have been multiple times with my 11year old son and for the first time wasn't allowed in the hot tub.
Everything was great welcoming staff, clean well equipped room and spa was great.
Great staff
Some of the communal areas a little tired
Clean & comfortable rooms. The swimming pool
The exterior of the Hotel is tatty & unkept. The interior of the communal areas is spartan & uninviting. The whole place is in need of major improvement & is stuck in a 1990's time warp. We used to stay in this Hotel regularly but moved elsewhere because of all the above, after an absence of 10 years we thought we would give a go, it was very disappointing that very little has changed
Excellent staff, especially the receptionist, she went above and beyond making us feel welcome and helping with all our requests and needs.
Too soft beds.
Located within walking distance of Yarm. Staff were excellent and very helpful. Unfortunately the room was very poor and in need of renovation. It was nothing like the pictures posted on the Best Western App. Very deceptive.
Breakfast and the beer gardens
I had a lovely first stay with Parkmore Hotel. Upon arrival, the staff were so welcoming and showed me around the hotel and facilities. Throughout my stay the staff were incrediblly friendly and helpful, especially Wendy on reception who really took care of me My room was spotless, the pool was fantastic and the food was delicious. Looking forward to coming back next month xx
We booked 1 overnight stay for our wedding anniversary. Welcomed on arrival at the front door. Lady at the reception desk was wonderful - Very friendly and quick check in service. We really enjoyed the swimming pool on both days. I’m 5 months pregnant but my Husband really enjoyed the hot tub. The only downside is no hairdryer in both the changing rooms or our bedroom. I had to towel dry my hair, just something to remember to pack if staying here. I did just assume they have a pool facility it would have been provided to customers staying over. We headed down to have a drink at the bar before our meal. After waiting for 5 minutes another group came over and asked us how long have we been waiting. They said nobody came last time and one of them actually phoned the reception desk line for attention. No bell/buzzer to inform staff there’s guests waiting to be served. The group behind us left after a 10 minute wait. Nobody was also on the reception desk the whole time we waited. When we did get served we were told the blackcurrant juice was sold out. Disappointed as I usually mix this with my non alcoholic drinks. We had the one drink and decided to head out to Yarm for drinks and eat food out instead. Disappointing as it put us off going back to the hotel bar again due to the first experience we had. We both really enjoyed breakfast the next day. Service was fast and the lady serving was absolutely lovely! We even asked for the orange juice to be refilled and she was more than happy to help. Overall we had a lovely stay. Room was very clean. Service other than at the bar was spot on. 4/5 star from us.
Lovely place .comfortable beds cosy rooms. Food great ..but fried breakfast is covered in. Grease .but tastes nice
Not a bad location though a bit far from Yarm shame as yarm is very nice . I found the service in the restaurant and the bar to be very slow. On my last night I ordered a steak you would believe a hotel restaurant would always have steak available on this occasion they said they didn’t have any available this is poor management then to top it all on my expenses their are two charges that are incorrect .
The room was comfortable & the location very good for my purposes.
I don’t like paying on arrival - previously I have paid at the end of the stay. The kettle in the room had such a short lead that it was impossible to plug it in. The staff did supply an extension cable, but the situation should not have arisen. The staff are very obliging but occasionally seem to be at a loss.
Great staff, nice bar, great breakfast, 20 minute walk into town.
Water was never hot in room 109
The food was disgusting, the starter prawn cocktail should be called iceland (yes the budget store) mini shrimp. The main roast beef with fresh vegetables was the real problem the beef was totally inedible the mash was what can only be described as a liquid. Never again be warned, I chewed what beef I was able to cut and spat it back on the plate. Yuk.
I suffered around 50 bites from a bed bug infestation while staying at the Parkmore Hotel on 23rd and 24th March 2026, causing significant distress and discomfort. Additionally, I had to go to great lengths to ensure I didn't inadvertently carry the infestation home with me in clothing or luggage. I was informed that the room had previously been fumigated, which to my mind indicates repeat occurrences of bed bug infestations at the hotel. Unfortunately, during my subsequent interactions with the hotel manager I was not extended so much as an apology for my experience, which serves to demonstrate a distinct lack of regard for customer wellbeing. Environmental Health notified and specialist solicitors have been contacted in relation to a claim for personal injury compensation.
This hotel has lots of parking at the vack, on arrival its like a throw back to 1985. The rooms are small and out dated and resembles a hostel.i did ask to change rooms which they did the staff were very nice. The second room at the back was clean but near the train track where freight trains rumbled through the night. The walls are so thin I could here the guest next door talking at 3.30 am. The food was terrible and inedible. The staff did offer a replacement and refunded my meal but I didn't bother so ended up with a packet of crisps for tea. Didnt bother with breakfast based on this experience.I was supposed to stay two nights but couldn't face another night so packed up and left the second night. This hotel should be completely renovated and start again.. Staff were nice and very helpful
First impression was ok. The older lady on reception was charming. But everything is very dated, grubby and tired. The spa is underwhelming to say the least. Nice idea but very low budget. Loads of broken tiles in pool. Changing rooms unclean. Jacuzzi with a waste pipe feeding in water. The inside of the sauna feels like an IKEA flat pack. I could hear a lot of scurrying outside my room which was by the fire escape. Not pigeons. And my friend saw several rats in the car park. Breakfast is really nothing to get excited about. Feels like a poor 80s throwback. Cheap juice and terrible coffee. I avoided a cooked breakfast as, frankly, I expected very low quality ingredients. And cereal is cereal… Some of the staff were very nice - others less so. This place needs a full renovation or start from scratch. Interestingly there is a sign in the lobby saying ‘new Parkmore hotel coming soon’ so who knows. In the meantime avoid. Shame as the location is good. They should do so much more with it.
After reading other reviews I went with low expectations. We had booked the unwind & dine for my daughter’s 21st birthday. It was about £32 for 2 hours spa and either afternoon tea or two courses from the main menu. We arrived to no one on the reception desk and had to wait a good 5 minutes. The girl on the desk arrived and knew what we were there for and directed us to the spa. No one at the spa reception. After another 5 minutes we decided to just go in. Changing rooms had cubicles and 3 showers with lockers requiring a padlock. We were told this in advance. No shampoo etc and we took our own towels and robes. Again, we knew this already. Pool area had a couple of loungers so we parked ourselves there. Pool was lovely and warm! Sauna, jacuzzi, steam room and hydro pool which we loved. All clean and tidy. Wasn’t busy so plenty of room to swim. Ordered coffee at the spa desk which was ok. Got changed, no hairdryer. Headed to reception and were shown into the Birdcage restaurant. It was empty but we were seen quickly and our drinks order taken. We chose afternoon tea which was plentiful and tasty! We boxed up leftovers to take home. So honestly, for what we paid, we had a lovely time! It’s not 5* like Rockliffe or the like and it is a bit tired in places but if you want a tasty lunch with adequate spa facilities and a warm pool then I would recommend the Parkmore.
Breakfast was good staff were polite
It’s dated and needs modernisation throughout. Beds were terrible not a good nights sleep the mattresses have well earned there money and need changed. Bathroom while clean and tidy are very dated also. Out side the front entrance is nice but when walking from the carpark there is a pipe from the kitchen spilling grease across the road that you have to walk through just not a good look
Location
No hot water. Mattress was knackered and passed its time
The rooms needed a refresh and perhaps some wall decor - the smell also in our room was a bit like stale smoke - the breakfast stayed sourdough toast but we didn’t get that - a regular white bread was served which was disappointing - the spa was fab, the comfort of the bed was fab. Pillows were not so good - much too hard. The staff on reception were outstanding!! Overall a comfortable stay & lovely staff esp the cleaners !!
The toast !! The smell in bedrooms and some wall decor in rooms would be nice and comfortable pillows
Very poor hotel , needs an upgrade the whole place . Faulty towers more like . Restaurant very poor stayed three weeks menus same all week every week when asked for something different they agreed then came to it they didn’t have tuna , jacket potato one night didn’t eat as sent food back was warm others as sent there’s back chef needs sorting out . Some of the waiters also . Then to find one of our colleagues ended up been bitten asked to move rooms which they did and was told there was nothing found at the time when asked manager. Weeks down the line my colleague then received email from manager now saying there was bed bugs found and room been treated and head board and cushions removed wow just wow not a very professional email either very blunt and not professional at all no apologies either will not recommend this hotel . Cleaning staff were lovely and lady on receptionist older one lovely rest let’s hotel down .
Excellent staff , helpful always ready to help
The swimming pool, not crowded
No provided hair dryer in the room. Waiting too long for the breakfast, hope its a buffet so people who has an errands can pick their food eat quickly and go
Spa facilities were good, breakfast was nice and the reception area was very prsentable beds were actually extremely comfortable.
The rest of the hotel including the rooms and the oassageways are in need of renovation. Smells really old. The room was clean but very dated. Cant complain with the price we paid.
Good location, friendly staff & value for money
This is a top quality place to stay everything is so easy just pull up and relax I loved it 🙏

Had an absolutely terrible time staying here last night. We’d booked using their promotional off, checked in giving all the times etc of closing in restaurant and spa - so far so good. When wanting to book our table a couple of hours later we were told the latest we could be in the restaurant was 6.45 as they were closing early, not ideal but we went. The staff seemed confused as what menu we were meant to be having and told me to go and speak to the receptionist which I did to be met with a very bad attitude and that they had decided I was on a different offer from the one I booked despite me having email confirmation. The food we were served was burnt and cold and we had to ask for it to be replaced. As for the restaurant closing at 6.45, there were still people walking on for bookings over an hour after this time. Later in the evening we were sat in the bar having a drink when the chef, receptionist and another member of staff were having a loud conversation including a lot of swearing about other members of staff - not why you want to hear on a relaxing night away. We go to our room ready for bed only to be woken up by banging after midnight. We actually had to call the hotel to find out what it was to be told they had no idea but it miraculously stopped as soon as we called. The morning of check out we got a lovely wake up call of the fire alarm going off - just seemed to top off a bad stay in the most appropriate way. Safe to say we won’t be returning
After a long week at work, we were all looking forward to a Twilight Spa for my daughtrs birthday. On arrival, we were told that children's swimming lessons were on til 6.30. What!! This meant we'd get a whole 30 minutes of peace as our meal was booked for 7pm. I didn't go in, I was so annoyed. How can you have a relaxing spa with swimming lessons going on. My daughter's said that the jacuzzi was filthy and there was scum on the water. We were so disappointed. The saving grace was the meal. The 2 young staff waiting, were commendable. They were attentive and very helpful, even when there was other things going on, beyond their control. Food was hot, and very nice. Luckily, me and my daughter's made the most of our time together, but it did make me very upset. The spa need to re-word their page to inform people about the swimming lessons. We'd never been here before, never read any reviews, just went hoping for a gorgeous time. Value for money for the meal, definitely 10/10 but unfortunately for the spa 1/10 Not relaxing whatsoever 😪
Lovely stay and Dinner! I came for the offer throughout March with my partner. From arriving at the venue we were greeted by the lovely receptionist who made us feel very welcome and explained our stay to us very well! She booked us into the restaurant for our dinner and we headed to our room. Our room was lovely and was very clean! We headed down to the spa the Hydro Pool was off for maintence however everything else was great and we enjoyed a drink in the spa, a lovely range of wines and beer that can be brought to you. We headed for our dinner and it was lovely! the service was great and food was lovely, we decided to just stay at the hotel for the evening and have drinks in the outdoor seating area of the bar as it was a lovely warm evening! Breakfast was great and again greeted by lovely staff. The menu has a great range of selection. Thank you Parkmore hotel and we will be returning!
We booked a stay at the parkmore hotel for a little treat. On arrival we were greeted by Jess on reception who was really helpful and explained everything. We checked in to our room which was clean and tidy. We then made our way to the restaurant for something to eat , I had forgotten to let anyone know about by wife's food allergy. The manager on duty Peter was very knowledgeable about all the dishes and explained what he could do changing dishes ect my wife felt completely at ease. The restaurant was busy we both noticed how the manager took time to speak to every table several times and having a laugh with each one which created a lovely atmosphere. The following morning Peter was back on duty we had a lovely Breakfast while chatting to him about the Parkmore in general. He really seems to love his Job which is not always the case these days. Then after breakfast we tried the Spa the steam room wasn't working however we were not particularly bothered, Mark was on hand to explain everything and get us clean towels. Would we return? Yes! definitely a lovely relaxing stay and friendly knowledgeable Staff. Shout out to Jess, Peter and Mark
