De host is een supervriendelijk man. Het gebouw is een imposant gebouw. Verzorgd ontbijt. Ligging in het centrum.
De badkamer kan wel wat vernieuwing gebruiken.
Friendly staff, good breakfast, characterful building
Poor car parking area
Nice clean room and comfortable bed. On the high street in a central location but not noisy at all. Breakfast was nice, coffee very good
Bar was very dated and no restaurant.
Nothing
Parking was in a run down alley behind the hotel. The three available spaces were taken up by heavy equipment. The toilet didn’t work. I had to remove the lid, put my hand in the tank and move parts. Shaving light in mirror did not work. Owner stated, what do you expect for 55 quid per person.
Good
not good for wheelchair
Breakfast was good and freshly madea
A restaurant and more staff
Very friendly owners, fully modernized room and bathroom, and very well cooked breakfast. What is not to like?
Clean and simple. Good breakfast.
Nothing
The hotel was in the centre of Jedburgh and had parking behind the building. The owners were friendly and helpful.
The water took ages to get hot in the bedroom. I thought the breakfast could have included more non meat items like fruit, cheese and yogurt. The cereal choice was limited to two. It was well presented and of good quality though
Enjoyed my chat with the breakfast chef
Rather ordinary in everything way for the price.
Staff were very inviting and friendly.
Breakfast was undercooked, i only managed to eat the toast. Room was basic but as expected, the bathroom however was not clean/covered in mold. I have shown pictures below. Would cost nothing to have this replaced.
Easy to find and nice rooms
Beautiful lhistoric building right on the High Street with easy parking. Host who has run the hotel for 11 years welcomed us, served at the bar and served us breakfast! Great service. A shame the restaurant was not operational for dinner but breakfast was good and we found dinner at the excellent Capon Tree restaurant five minutes walk or there was a Tandoori Restaurant . Bar was small and very quiet (on a Tuesday night) save for the loud music but host was very welcoming and drinks were good. Room very nice with good bathroom and the usual amenities, bed and linens all very good quality. Overall a really good stay. Would recommend.
Music in the bar was too loud
This place, is right in the centre of tge High Street, so no where in town is far to walk. The cooked breakfast was tasty
The continental breakfast selection limited to 3 choices of boxed kelogs cerials. No fruit or yoghurt.
Right on the high street, no noise at all from street very quiet.
Nothing to dislike
Interesting old building with modern bedrooms and bathrooms.
Not great for people with facilities. Some areas of the hotel rather shabby. Restricted times to access hotel.
We ended up both nights having a drink in the little bar which turned out to be nice as not much else was open in town! It was walking distance to the Abbey which was one of our destinations for heritage searching.
The bed was too soft. No facecloth. Breakfast between 7:30 and 8:30 was too short a window and he closed the room at 8:30 so you could not linger or come a little later
Great breakfast and central location
It was very central. The couple who run it are lovely and very helpful.
It was clean and the staff friendly. The location was very good.
The room smelt damp. It was an old building with uneven floors which meant the bed sloped slightly. The breakfast was a little odd. I have never had scrambled eggs made from what looked like chopped up hard boiled eggs before. The other items on offer looked fine.
Very nicely situated hotel, for people walking the St Cuthberts Way, with lots of historical facts
Friendly service. Nice and clean.
Very helpful.
mooi historisch gebouw, schone kamers, leuke bar met pooltafel
Korte ontbijt tijd en laat inchecken/ vroeg uitchecken. Personeel alleen zichtbaar bij inchecken, ontbijt en achter de bar
It was handy for the town and the room was a decent size and was quiet. The breakfast was pretty basic but was nicely cooked.
Check in was at 3pm, which is fine, but you are literally unable to access the property at all until that time! When we did gain access to the hotel, the bar didn’t open until later, so you couldn’t even get a drink! Finally got in the bar, which was very shabby and unwelcoming. The pool table was terrible, the balls were different sizes, it didn’t take new £1 coins and it was situated in such a way that you couldn’t hit the balls without hitting the walls! The bed was comfy enough but on a strong slant, so you must go to bed on friendly terms! We parked in the place advised, which was hard to find and was a terrible mess next to a derelict shed full of pigeon poo, but despite giving our registration when checking in, upon leaving we had a snotty note on our windscreen advising us that the parking was for hotel guests only! The breakfast was nicely cooked, but everything seemed very much like the budget range of the supermarket. Nothing inherently wrong with that, but it wasn’t a particularly cheap hotel, so you’d be forgiven for expecting something a little more. There was no choice either, just the usual cereal and toast and then a cooked breakfast, no Eggs Benedict or kippers etc.
great breakfast
Lage des Hotels sehr gut Kostenloser Parkplatz beim Hotel sehr gut Personal sehr freundlich Frühstück gut
Clean, friendly staff, nice breakfast.
Amena and Abdu were exception hosts so friendly and helpful, they made us feel at home . They work very hard to accommodate their guests. We stayed in room 11 which looked out onto the high street, the bed was very comfortable, the room was cleaned every day and the shower was excellent.
The town could do with more high street shops, like every where in the country they have lots of vacant stores but we visited Kelso which is a busier town. For three days and nights it was fine.
Good location. Good room. Friendly staff.
The hotel felt a little run down, like it had seen better days but the staff were trying there best.
Not much to like
Not open when we arrived, didn't open until 4pm could even drop off our luggage
The Spread Eagle was within walking distance to all of the main attractions, food venues and shops. Friendly service and clean.
Right in the centre of town . Comfortable and clean - you will get a good nights rest after your long drive .
Ambiance
The staff were friendly and the breakfast was mid.
Our room stank of stale cigarettes and urine. It was super hot and there was no fan too.
Was
Excellent room with a bath 😀 Staff very helpful and welcoming.
Location on the high street very good. On street parking was good. Breakfast ok. Coffee very good. Light up mirror in bathroom. The host was very nice.
Shower took an age to heat up on arrival but we put this down to old building and being on 2nd floor. No hot water in the morning despite running it for 20 mins. Mentioned it to host at breakfast who offered to look at it , but it was too late by then. Bedroom window was very low and opened very widely with a sheer drop outside, could be dangerous. Room and bathroom clean but tired. Pillows very flat.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Good breakfast. Nice historical place, a warren of corridors and stairs. Noisy bar (deserted) but quiet lounge.
I booked thinking they did evening meals as per their website, but they didn’t. We had a great meal at Carters Rest, very near. Small car park didn’t inspire confidence, but parked easily nearby.
The staff were wonderful. The room was spacious and cli.
Booking.com showed a restaurant one minute from the hotel but there hadn't been one for over 13 years. Please update Booking.com !!!
Nice hotel, friendly welcome. Good breakfast. We stayed one night as part of a long distance walking trip and it was absolutely fine, staff were friendly.
They can't do evening meals, not viable for them unfortunately.
This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. The keys do not work and I was locked outside for 20 minutes in the Main Street. When I phoned and spoke to owner Abdul he was aware of the faulty lock and told me to keep wiggling the key I eventually gained access to the hotel and then the key to my room didn’t work either
Broken locks and dirty rooms. I checked out after 1 night and booked into the Royal Hotel which was excellent. I got a refund for my second night after checking out
Nice staff. Centre of town. Good breakfast
Needing a little ‘sprucing up’
Redelijke bedden.
Matig ontbijt, doucheruimte niet helemaal schoon en matige afwerking
Vintage hotel at a reasonable price. There is parking in the back and breakfast was pretty good.
It is weird that they keep the lobby locked and make you wait outside until they open the bar next door.
i loved the town. the bed was very comfortable. breakfasts were delicious.

Great location good breakfast
Our room was very cold
The hotel is well situated in the centre of Jedburg. The beds were comfortable. Breakfast was very good. The owners were very friendly and helpful. Sockets by the bed.
The room was very cold. We did ask the owner to turn on the heating which he did. So the room warmed up while we were out having dinner. A portable convection heater would be great to hear rooms individually without having to turn on the whole central heating system. It took a very long time to get hot water out of the bathroom tap. I had to leave it running for a few minutes which is very wasteful. It also took a very long time for the toilet cistern to refill.
Central position near charging point and has parking. Comfortable room.
Shame that the restaurant was not open at present.
Friendly
Breakfast comment below. The location was excellent.
Sadly the breakfast was the disappointing part of our stay. There was no fruit, yoghurt or granola/muesli available. The cooked breakfast was not special.
Breakfast mediocre
Inflexible booking in procedure Doors to hotel locked until4pm and despite being told we could phone to possibly arrange earlier check in this was not facilitated
Super
Rien
De host was very nice, the room okee,
There was no posibility to eat at the hotrl. In the village wad only a indian restaurant ( and some take away) . Gortunatelly the indian restaurant served great good. The pub connected to the hotel was not much to our liking
The gentleman running the property was clearly the heart and soul of the hotel. He was wonderful and very accommodating. He did a great job.
Our bathroom was quite dirty. Hairs everywhere, dirt all over the tub. I would also suggest a mattress topper on our bed as the mattress is very old and uncomfortable. A few small upgrades could really really improve the overall experience.
Hele aardige man die ons hielp. Mooie kamer en goed ontbijt.
GN
Friendly and helpful staff. Nice, clean room and bathroom. Very nice breakfast included.
A building full of history. Clean rooms.
There wasn’t anything I didn’t like. It would be great if there was signage as to which door to enter building and go out of in the morning and to reception.
Breakfast was great and as we requested.
Lots of stairs and no lift
Great location
Bedrooms need refurbishing
Lovely hosts, lovely room, very comfortable and clean. Breakfast was excellent.
Would have been great to have dinner here but the restaurant is unfortunately not open but there are food choices close by
Breakfast ok..we both specifically requested not to have something and we both got it! Also breakfasts were a little early for a sunday
Outside area was a bit messy
General atmosphere of a place in decline. No evening food available.
The location was great and easy to find. The receptionist/manager? was a very friendly and courteous man.
When I enquired about the car park I was told that it is better to park in the road, as it is very quiet in the car park!
Breakfast was OK
There is no parking. It was advertised as place with parking. Parking is on the street with parking restriction signs. As I was told by the host he has never seen a traffic warden for 11 years, so I can disregard parking restrictions signs. Also they don't switch on heating at night. Even when it is +2 C outside. So the inside temperature was equal outside.
Room was clean & comfortable. Bathroom had plenty of hot water.
Nothing
Room was clean and location
No body on site overnight fire escape to car park was locked breakfast poor 1 hour time slot on a Sunday morning is a joke 7.30 to 8.30
Breakfast was fine.
Lighting in corridors and stairs sometimes was not on. No one around.
Well cooked and great taste
Breakfast: Just what I needed to start the day. Room: Comfortable but warm, staff warned us this would be the case. Location: Easy find.
Good location and good value for money.
NA
Excellent hospitality
Nicely appointed property and friendly staff
Bar wasn’t open as the card machine was faulty
Lovely breakfast room with a good breakfast supplied.
Not one single thing
Bad smell - damp being masked by bleach Rude receptionist Dated room, dirty bedding, ancient lumpy pillows - nothing matched online description We drove 3 hours to turn around and drive home again!
Was ok but very basic
The bed was uncomfortable the room was cold the quilt was to small for the bed
Breakfast was excellent. I have Coeliac Disease and require Gluten Free meals. The hotel supplied a tasty Gluten free full English breakfast (minus the sausages, which contain Gluten) plus Gluten free toast. I was comforted by the staff's knowledge of the condition. Although the write up on Booking.com mentioned Gluten free meals, the proprietor informed me that they had no chef and so could not provide evening meals. He supplied me with a list of nearby restaurants, allowing me to book a suitable evening meal at one of them.
We checked in just after 4 pm and although the heating in our room was on, the room was still very cold. I suspect that it had just been switched on not long before we arrived, as it was warm about an hour later when we returned to the room. I can understand that it is unneccesary to keep heating on in unused rooms, however I would have preferred it being turned on a little earlier before our arrival.
The location was great.owner was friendly and helpful.
The bed was very lumpy.the breakfast was very unappetizing on arrival only ate a bit.I was the only customer that evening.
Although it was very quiet, the owner was good company at the bar. It was situated in the centre of town. We didn't have to walk far for our evening meal.
Nothing we disliked about this hotel.
Central
Nothing
The breakfast was good.
On arrival bizarrely the young man who checked us in was sitting behind a closed window and we had to literally shout through this window at him. He seemed very harassed. On getting in to our room we found it completely unheated. It was a very cold night. We did what we could to "turn on" the radiators and waited for 20 minutes or so to see if they showed signs of heating up. When they didn't we left to try and find a warm bar or somewhere to eat and defrost. Afterwards we returned to the room and the radiators were still stone cold. There were no staff that we could find for help so we picked up our cases and left. We checked in to another hotel where our room was blissfully warm 😁. We returned to the hotel the next morning to have breakfast which was perfectly acceptable.
Very friendly hotel owner, made breakfast for us at 7am so we could continue the St Cuthbert Way.
Nothing
Loved the area. Easy parking. Great staff once u found him. Clean. Shower was great. Bed was very comfortable
Booking said onside EV charger, was one up the street. No check in before 4pm. Staff were late opening up. Hotel has moved a little over the years, room had a serious drop. But quaint
Very clean with friendly staff who couldn’t do enough to make our stay one to enjoy ….thanks
Nothing all very good
Both were good
Punctuality.
De eigenaar is welbespraakt, servicegericht en heeft fantastisch gevoel voor humor. Heerlijk verzorgd ontbijt! TOP!
X
The staff were friendly, and the breakfast and hot drinks were plentiful.
The WiFi in our room was poor, the furnishings needed a bit of a refresh, and the room felt cold and a little damp.
Location for our St Cuthbert’s walk
Ageing, needing refurbished
Good location. No complaints about the staff or facilities, Just have to accept the very creaky floor boards
Creaky floor boards
The hosts were so lovely and helpful. Breakfast was nice. The location was central to most historical sights.
We booked 2 rooms and a friend booked another. One room was fine and beds were comfortable although bathroom could've had more attention on the cleaning side. Another room was the same as this. Another room smelled of urine which must have been in the carpet or into the floor boards as even after having toilet cleaned the smell was still there after the cleaning smell subsided, one of the single beds was like sleeping on a plank of wood & it wasn't just a firm mattress, it felt weird while the other one was fine but very creaky, the valence sheets were marked also ( I think these should be a no no in a hotel anyway). A big complaint is you don't get a choice on whether you want your heating on or off, the owners put the heating totally off after a couple of hours and if you want it on you need to go find them to ask to put it on which isn't good if your cold during the night! When we asked to get it put on We were told because of the good weather people don't like it warm but it was cold and raining outside so it should have been on. Heating should be on at all times anyway! It's the customers choice if they want a hot or cold room at any time of the day or night, we pay for it!! The toilets in the bar were disgusting. The whole hotel is in need of renovation and decoration, our floor in the room was in a slope and it felt like you could go through the floor at any minute, all over the hotel is the same except for ground floor. It's a shame as the hosts were so lovely but the hotel really lets it down and neither of us would ever stay again I'm afraid.
