Quiet and clean
No Breakfast as it was not available
Staff very helpful and room was clean.
A little noisy, but the noise didn't last too late.
The first time we booked at this hotel through Booking, I discovered the Countryfest Community Movie Theatre around the corner. We have made a point ever since to break up our trips north with a stay here and a night at the movies. I love it. Also the beds are wonderfully comfortable.
Clean
Our only disappointment was that there was no breakfast and we had thought there was
Location to the arenas.
Bathroom door didn’t lock.
Price and clean
No sport stations to watch any hockey
Great
Room is very spacious and clean.Friendly front desk.Parking right out front.Room has a microwave, fridge and coffee maker.
The pictures the hotel supplied to Expedia were misleading to the point of being fraudulent. The room looked nothing like the pictures shown. It was obviously a calculated attempt to mislead the customer. We would not have stayed there if true pics of the room had been provided. It wasn't like pictures supplied were flattering to the room - they were not pictures of that room.
I would stay again they let me stay over time I would stay again happy customer
Someone stole two caps from our room. Our door was locked but someone with a key came in and stole two Jordan caps valued at $40 each
Hotel ok, but located across from bar in worst area of dauphin. Town is definitely an urban reserve, too many natives in this location plus hookers
Flies and also was charged twice due to booking change - one from Expedia and one from the hotel.
The room we got was small but very, very clean. The sheets felt brand new and the comforter on top was very comfy. Mattress was comfortable. The tv channels were clear and a good selection. The towels were amazing, so soft! The breakfast room was spotless and adequate. Frozen waffles, bread for toasting, fruit and hard boiled eggs…great selection of yogurts. Even a few lactose free ones! Something I eat and is not usually offered. I should mention, we had arrived to check in after 4:30. The staff were still cleaning rooms from very unruly guests that trashed the place on the weekend. The room we were supposed to get had a broken TV screen, so they quickly cleaned a different room while we waited. Not a fault of the hotel. The staff were very polite and apologetic about the circumstances.
Comfortable bed
Firstly, this was the only hotel available that had a room. The price was double what I would pay for a 3 or 4 star in a big city. In fact we stayed in a theme room at West edmonton mall for $130 less a night. And that’s not a cheap hotel. So this way over priced. Next, We had a level above their standard room. I would not want to see the standard room because this room had old dirty carpets, tile in washroom and other areas was so dirty that my white socks actually got dirty. Towels and bedding were clean and the bed was made tight. Just have a hard time thinking how much I paid and the standard it was at. The rating was a two star… and I knew that when booking, but it was my only option to make this family visit happen.
The bathtub was unsafe (bathtub liner let go and water seeped between tub and liner therefore very unstable to stand in). The carpet was stained and dirty. Had a change of room for second night and no shower curtain was in the bathroom and the bathroom door was falling apart. The outside screen door had no window or screen. We would have changed hotels however nothing was available due to a festival on this weekend. On the website, the rooms appeared very different and updated.
Very clean room, friendly staff.
Every soft surface had a stain on it
Cozy little spot. Comfy beds. Hot showers. Cany ask for much more.
It’s an older property but very clean and has a decent complimentary breakfast, staff is friendly and efficient, and it’s affordable. The walls/ceiling are very thin though, so when the neighbours got to fighting the entire night, it woke the kids several times and eventually I just gave up on sleeping, that’s not the fault of the hotel though, I could have called it in, it was just too violent sounding at times and I was scared to have anyone confront them.
It's a budget hotel that's dated however checks the box on cleanliness.
Questionable area
The property was decent not worth the amount paid as they bumped up the price for country fest.
While the beds were clean the rest of the room wasn’t very clean. The bathroom was dirty not cleaned properly neither were the floors. If it wasn’t for the clean beds then I would not have stayed. The area felt safe but there is a bar across the street so there was noise from that along with others in the hotel being loud through the night. It was a cheap price but still felt over priced for the condition of the room. I would skip this hotel if I ever come back to Dauphin.
Loud, other guests up partying outside all night, felt completely unsafe, police presence to manage ongoing guest conflicts. While the rooms were clean (basic) I would not recommend this place, most definitely do not bring a family there
Location
We booked two rooms for a couple of night for family who were evacuated from a Northern Manitoba community. The hotel made immediate accommodations, did not charge for a deposit, and stayed close to the front desk until early in the morning to help our family, threw cats, and the dog check in after fleeing wildfires. What an amazing place and and amazing team. Thank you for helping us all during this crisis!
Was the only hotel available on EXPEDIA for the night i was in Dauphin. Its a older motel style place with an actual key to get into the room. Room looked fairly recently remodeled and was clean and quiet. Coffee in the breakfast room was good.
.
Four of us were in Dauphin to referee the regional basketball tournament. We stayed one night and it was very pleasant! Rooms have been recently remodeled and they were very comfortable. It looks like they will be taking some time soon to upgrade the outside as some small construction jobs were being done. Had a great sleep and a hot shower! That was all we needed for our stay. Our conversations with the staff were friendly and very positive. They allowed for a later checkout which was great because we were able to come back after our morning games, rest and get cleaned up for the afternoon. We enjoyed our stay at the Dauphin Inn Express!
I like that it’s under new management. The guys in the front office were very informative a pleasure meeting the manager.
Not enough parking, my vehicle got boxed in.
We liked how spacious the rooms were.
The wifi never worked. It was too slow. The neighbours upstairs were way too loud and when I called front desk, no one answered. I called 3 times so we didn’t sleep more than 3 hours listening to our neighbours. And it was a work trip for us so we were exhausted the next day and very frustrated. Before checkout, I told the front desk and they said we should’ve called and I told them I did several time but no one answered. It was in a sketchy part of town and people outside the room had their car lights shining in our closed windows for almost 2 hours late at night and they were so rude to us. When we got up in the morning, the neighbours upstairs were banging on the floor telling us to be quiet even though we were being very quiet. So we were happy to leave asap and won’t be returning.
It was a terrible experience. The people above us made noise up until 2:30. In the morning, we contacted the front desk 4 times nothing was ever done.
Rough trip to Dauphin. Desk personnel were extremely helpful in accommodating us.
Central location
Reasonable price, good parking and decent location.
Good location with very friendly reception.
There was zero parking for a pickup and trailer, building around cover with graffiti and boarded up. I went to another hotel I could at least park at.
No one was in office had to wait 20 mins for some one to show up to check us in and once i got to my room i found that there was no hot water so couldn't even shower.
The motel was an older building, but was clean and reasonable. What I didn’t,t like was Expedia.ca charging me more for the room than the motel actually charges. Do not trust Expedia.ca any more
The location was great. The host was kind and considerate. The price was good. The room was a good size for us.
The lamp between the beds was broken, the towel bar was not properly secured and fell down, and there was no hot water.
The cable service they provide is very poor.
Bed comfortable
Didn't feel secure. Doors and locks cheap, old and rundown. Exterior ugly. Other guests looked dodgy. Room was cold. Heater was noisy. Had to find electrical outlet for night stand stand light.
We didn’t have breakfast
Only had coffee in my room for 1 morning. Tried to get more second morning but no one was in the office
Good value for money. Room was clean and bed was comfortable.
Mechanical door lock required jiggling the key just right to unlock the door.
Property a bit dated but clean. Remote on TV was not working.
It was a budget hotel but the floors were very dirty and the bathtub was old and dirty and there was no soap in the soap dispenser on the wall.
Restaurants were within walking distance
Many other hotels/motels in Dauphin appear to be off the main highway when entering the city. This motel is a bit more central and seems walkable to surrounding areas. We mainly used it for a quick stay on our way through the area, and appreciated that the rooms were clean, beds were comfortable, and that there was a fridge, microwave and coffee maker in the room. We stayed on a Sunday night, so it was pretty quiet. Parking was available on site but could possibly fill up depending on the number of guests staying. Check in was quick and easy, and for check out there is a key drop available in the event that the office is not yet open. Based on the price we paid, we were happy with the accommodations.
This wasn't an issue for us, but make sure to check times for checking in / out when booking. It does seem like the office isn't always open although there is a number to call if need be. The exterior of the motel may not give off the best first impression, but easily overlooked since the rooms are clean and comfortable.
Clean room. Nice shower. Comfortable bed.
The kitchenette needs more dishes/ cooking items. But you can tell the friendly and hardworking staff is working towards completing the kitchen.
the rooms clean newly renovated but area not so great
This motel was clean and served our needs for the 2 nights we stayed. Beds and pillows were decent but there is no continental breakfast so factor buying breakfast into the cost and we could have stayed somewhere else for the same price.
Meh
Quick and very friendly late check in. Well appointed room with everything we needed and more. Luxurious linens and a very comfortable bed and pillows.
Pretty average accommodation. It's clean and it's a good place for the price. I wouldn't say there's anything special about this motel but it is a clean bed for the night.
There is a movie theatre across the street so we went to see Deadpool and Wolverine. This is a great location.
There was nothing to dislike.
By far the dirties place I have ever stayed at. There were stains on the pillows , blankets and the towels. Just a nasty place.
Excellent stay. Need to work on the parking lot. Broken cement in front of room 11 that needs fixing.
Ease of check in and room itself was ok. Crowded parking lot, old building, sidewalks chipping were some of the less than ideal things. Close to Corrina's which has great food and walking distance to Mr Mikes and Obsolete Brewing Company.
Check in was late, internet very poor, only a couple of tv channels worked. Room was updated and clean
No phone tv didn’t work door wouldn’t open with key no dead bolt
Very over priced for room. Smelled bad, dirty bathroom
Over priced, dirty bathroom
It was actually better than i expected. Very friendly service.
It was in central Dauphin, and we appreciated the fridge, microwave, individual unit air conditioner and “continental” breakfast. Their is a great restaurant across the street they should partner with/promote (Corrine’s)
The water pressure was so poor that at first we thought the shower wasn’t working at all. When the floor was washed it was with a “well used mop and bucket of water” leaving a lot of gravel on the floor. The property is very dated.
Room was basic, smelled clean. Good location, walkable to CN park for food truck and live music during Summer Games
Many stores in waliking area were closed on Monday
Was a good getaway, friendly personal
I left (angry)without taking advantage of the free breakfast.
Hot water went off after midnight; the service man didn’t get there until I was leaving the hotel in the morning. NO morning shower for my $139! Other hotels would’ve had that fixed on an emergency basis overnight while their guests slept!
Very close to the venue I attended, rooms were decent.
There was only decaf coffee in my room
The abundant cleanser almost but didn’t quite mask the unpleasant smells in the unit. For a short-term last-minute stay, it was acceptable but expensive for what we got.
Unclean and overpriced
Friendly staff
The breakfast was tasty. There were nice fresh towels and the beds and room were clean.
The key for the door was a problem. There were a few times it took more than 5 min to get door open. Then when I was arriving back around 1:30 am the key would not work . Tried for 1/2 hr. Had to call manager for help, the door finally opened. Door knob very loose. Definitely a safety concern. The spout on the tub was loose. No silicone around it. Seemed water was leaking, but we couldn’t tell where it was leaking to. Called and asked for an extra night about 6 months ago, they said they would look into it and get back. A week before the festival I called to see if I could get Sunday night, they said not a problem. The Sunday night was the price of my Fri-Sat night stay. Even though I called and requested an additional night 6 months ago.
Complimentary breakfast for $220.00 per night wasn't worth anything. If they would have at least coffee I would accept it. Never saw in my life such a coffee machine. First, you pour some substance into the cup (it doesn't smell like a coffee at all) then add hot water. Guys, for the money your guests are paying you should provide at least coffee pots with a brewed coffee or Keurig. Other than coffee breakfast included yogurt, a tiny muffin (2 packs of 12 for all the rooms), apple or banana, cereals with milk, lemonade from the machine, and bread.
The cleanliness of the room is beyond words. It is dirty. Period. No handsoap. Sink drains are clogged badly. Fans in bathrooms are covered in dust. We couldn't walk barefoot in the room. Towels were changed daily. Very narrow parking spots. Not enough for all the rooms once they're occupied. My car was damaged badly by the other guest while I was parked. The hotel stuff wasn't cooperative in this story. If you can avoid this hotel - do it. We stayed there only due to the lack of other accommodations in Dauphin. However, overpricing the room for $60.00/per night over the regular price only due to the high demand is not fair. You're not providing service for even half of this price.
Crazy noisy goings-on in room above us.
Room had an odd smell
Good size space at a reasonable rate Door lock is difficult to operate .
Booking dot com charged way more than if I booked direct with hotel
This location appears to have been renovated recently and looked fabulous. The bed was comfortable so I slept well.
The shower wasn't as powerful as I'd have liked but that did not make our break my stay... I had a nice hot shower before continuing my travels.
Very brief stay. The beds were very comfortable. No soap in the dispenser, very small bottle of shampoo for 3 people. The pictures in the app look better than the room was. Carpet was very tacky & had a yucky feel on the feet.
Noticeable improvement since last year, new owners very personable
This place is very basic. Decent value for what you get, but not fancy at all.
Perfect overnight stay
You need a pool
Good location near town centre. Good motel close to Ridings National Park.
