This is the second time we stayed here prior to a cruise. Both Lorie and Ambra are wonderful people. The location was great. The rooms are clean and well appointed. The breakfast is fantastic. We will return again the next time we embark from Civitavecchia.

From arrival to departure everything was wonderful. The room was excellent with brilliant sea views. The breakfast was exceptional and the service and friendliness of the staff was unmatched. This was a wonderful place to stay pre-cruise. Thoroughly recommended !

Would highly recommend this hotel!!! The room, the view the staff all so welcoming and lovely! Went above and beyond to make the stay as comfortable and easy as possible!! Always updating me via WhatsApp on what time I needed to be picked up and what I needed to do! Will be going back and sending everyone I know there !!

We were met at the entrance by Loris who carried our cases up one flight of stairs to lift. 3 flights to B and B but there us a lift. A wonderful warm welcome , full of genuine warmth and concern for providing a good service. Room was outstanding, spotlessly clean, all mod cons , USB/Usb-c points, Netflix, hairdryer, safe. Better than some 5 star major hotels. Breakfast options were amazing, continental style, honesty bar for alcohol, home made cake by Loris's Mum was yummy. Nespresso machine, coffee, tea and juice. Fruit, granola, yoghurt. I have no words to say how wonderful our one night stay was. Bed was super comfy..Room spotless. If early bedder or light sleeper, maybe bring earplugs. The warmth of Ambra and Loris was just fabulous, highly recommeded!! We will be back , loved it♥️

Only negative, the entrance is in a gallery style mall, owner was waiting for us on arrival otherwise entry to actual b and b would be difficult as theres an entry door requiring a key, and house is on 3rd floor, accessible by lift. First flight to lift is by stairs

Staff was amazing and the room and view were great. It was great being centrally located in the city.

The stairs in the entry were a little challenging for my 83 year old mother, and the elevator was small and warm on a hot day.

La Casa Sur Mare has become our go to place for pre cruise stays. The hosts are very friendly, helpful and welcoming, and the rooms have everything one needs. My only suggestion would be to extend check out time a little beyond the current 10 o’clock limit.

Such a lovely little find and would not hesitate stopping here again. The hosts, Loris, Ambra & Rita could not do enough for you, kindly arranged a taxi pick up from the airport to the hotel, taxi to the cruise ship and taxi from The ship back to airport - all without any issues at all. Only stopped for 1 night pre cruise, room was immaculate, bed extremely comfy and little touches of chocolate left was a lovely touch. Loris kindly recommend restaurants to eat and booked us a table, nothing was too much trouble.

La Casa Sul Mare is an absolute gem! The premises are impeccably clean and cozy. There’s everything you need plus more for a good stay; not just a well equipped room with a very comfortable bed, but also plenty of fruit, pastry, snacks, coffee, etc. included. Ambra and Loris are genuinely welcoming and friendly, they helped us with everything we needed without hesitation. We felt like we were staying over at a friend’s, with a gorgeous sea view!

Whilst the entrance to this bijou gem may be deceiving, once we were met with the magnetic smile and welcome from Loris and Ambra and then shown to our very comfortable room with a great balcony and lovely view we felt very welcome! We stayed just one night and felt sorry to leave their warm company. Loris went above and beyond to help us with his local knowledge and our onward journey. We would definitely stay again! I feel so fortunate that I found this gem! I wanted to have a day to acclimate prior to a 2 week Explora Mediterranean cruise and this was absolutely pitch perfect. My goal was to find an authentic experience and this was everything I hoped for! The people couldn't have been more warm and welcoming! The room, bed, shower all extremely comfortable and the view just filled my heart with joy! They were incredibly hospitable and not only gave me a great suggestion for a spot for dinner but called ahead for me as well. The location was perfect, and their recommendations for restaurants, attractions, and local sights couldn’t have been better. The B&B was extremely comfortable and welcoming. The team went over and above to make sure I had everything I needed , even so far as to store my family's luggage for the day, even though they were not staying at the B&B and it was long before check in. There were fresh fruit/pasties/drinks etc available for the entire stay, which was a really nice touch. The host arranged a taxi for me as I would have been unable to arrange one at the time I needed. The apartment itself was extremely clean and tastefully decorated, with a nice modern shower room, there was also a large balcony overlooking the sea front. I will definitely stay again next time I am in Civitavecchia.

The building access is in a quite dark alley under a building - which does not reflect the comfort and facilities of the apartment itself.

The property is located exactly where the photograph shows it is, close to seafront bars and restaurants. The hosts are extremely helpful and welcoming, the room with a balcony was small, but had everything we needed.

We really enjoyed our stay at La Casa Sul Mare. We had efficient communications before our stay and airport pickup was nicely arranged. Thank you to Loris and Ambra for all the nice arrangements. Ambra’s succinct but detailed briefing on the place was highly appreciated. Our room was new and spotless clean with a really nice view of the Ferris wheel and the coast. Drinks, snacks, fruits, air-con, new and nice big TV with Netflix, hair dryer, hair curler, fresh clean towels, and even new slippers were available! Loris is the best host ever. Grateful to his helpful handling of our multiple heavy suitcases. Apart from the airport pickup, he also arranged transfer for us to reach our cruise ship via a car with special permit to go inside the terminal area. Everything was smooth and nicely done. Loris has definitely raised the standard of a bed and breakfast stay, in fact the whole experience was even more pleasant than some of my previous hotel experiences. One could totally feel the passion and effort that Loris has devoted to running the place to make his guests feel comfortable. One last tip, make sure you don’t miss the delicious pistachio pie made by Loris’s mom, it is a must try!

Lovely

This is a fabulous boutique hotel with clean rooms, modern amenities and a very helpful staff. The hotel is stocked with fruit, fresh breads and beverages. It is walkable to everything in the heart of this beach town. Perfect if you are catching a cruise at the port. They will arrange for everything you need from transport to dinner reservations.

This was not just a very very clean and inviting place, but the people were amazing! We had the best service from the staff and owners! Before our trip Loris was helpful getting things lined up for us to do, including transfers from the cruise ship and to the airport. We loved the location. So much in walking distance from the location! A nice cafe is just at the base of it as well. The food offered in the B&B was just right! Ambra was so kind and helped with so much inside. We will be back one day!! Thanks for the hospitality!!

We felt very welcome and were treated like family versus tourists. Extra touches like mama‘s pistachio cake and calling ahead to the restaurant where we had reservations to ensure we had a good table, made us feel like special guests!

My stay here for a few days before we left for the cruise was absolutely awesome , from the time we arrived til the time we left. Lori’ ,Ambrose and Rita was very accommodating. They went well beyond the meaning of being hosts. I definitely well urge anybody who’s catching a cruise out of this port to stay at the la casa sul marr

Amazing stay! The location was perfect - close to plenty of restaurants and just a short walk to the cruise terminal shuttles. The room was spotless and comfortable. Loris and Ambra made us feel like family even with our one night stay. Their hospitality was outstanding. Highly recommend!

Our stay at La Casa Sul Mare was AMAZING!! If I could give 100 stars I would! Loris and Ambra were the nicest of people and so very helpful! Before we arrived I asked if they could arrange for a special bouquet of flowers to be in the room as a surprise for my Mom (who I was traveling with) and not only were they helpful in doing that for me, the flowers they arranged were stunning!! They were so helpful in recommendations of things to do in their beautiful city and the food that they provided for breakfast and snacks throughout the day were delicious and plentiful! We loved the ponza room (in our opinion the best room as it is spacious, clean (like the the rest of the rooms and property) and the balcony view was stunning with a big private bathroom!! We loved everything about our stay and Loris and Ambra really make you feel like family and you’re staying at your home away from home! We stayed before and after our cruise and if you can, have Loris arrange your car service to and from the airport and cruise ship! Everything was seamless and perfect!! We will always stay here when we come back! Thank you La Casa Sul Mare for Making our special mother and daughter trip amazing and so special! You are truly the BEST!!!!

Loris and Ambra, are the most perfect hosts, welcoming us into their beautiful accommodation with such grace and care. Loris helped get our bags up some steps and into the elevator. The balcony room was immaculate with a very modern shower room. Air con and the prettiest balcony to sit and watch the world go by. Breakfast was lovely and we met some of the other guests at breakfast who were also on our cruise.Loris organised a car to take us to the port in the morning and waited with us till it arrived. A car can also be booked to collect you from the airport to Casa Sul Mare, which will take all the hassle out of navigating the very busy airport. We were very well looked after and there is an honesty bar for wine, beer and soft drinks, and the home made pistachio cake made by Loris's mama was delicious! This luxury B&B is fully booked for a reason.... book early, you will not be disappointed.

Location, comfortable with amazing owner and staff

We stayed at La Casa Sul Mare on the night before our cruise ship departure and we could hardly have been made more welcome. The accommodations are top notch and the location is perfect. The hosts, Loris & Ambra are a delight. They have provided so many details to make guests feel at home. Loris even came to meet us at the station. If you are thinking of staying in Civitavecchia, we thoroughly recommend La Casa sul Mare. You won't be disappointed. Thank you Loris & Ambre for a wonderful stay!! P.S. We did not find the "noisy bar" (mentioned by a previous reviewer) to be any problem. We are both quite noise averse and our room was right above the bar but we heard practically no noise from the bar during our stay.

What a wonderful place to stay. My husband and I were greeted downstairs by the owner Loris . He greeted us as if we were very special guests. Loris carried our bags for us! The entire space was beautifully designed . Fruit ,water, coffee and yummy pastries were there as needed. Ambra showed us around so that we knew how to access anything we needed in the common space and our room. She also helped us by suggesting wonderful restaurants over looking the Sea to eat at. Our room overlooked the street below and the stunning Mediterranean .Yet with special shade it was very quiet. Breakfast the next morning was more than you could want too. All in all it was a fantastic place to stay and we treated like family..

Everything about our stay was amazing! Loris and his staff were very friendly, helpful and attentive. Our room was very comfortable and the view from our balcony was beautiful. The breakfast was included with our stay, and there was a good assortment of delicious foods and also snacks available all day. We stayed there a few days before leaving on a cruise, and the location was perfect for walking around Civitavecchia, seeing the sights, and eating at the many local restaurants. It was a fantastic experience, and we would definitely stay there again.

We had the privilege of staying at La Casa sul Mare before our cruise. We stayed 2 nights. This is a wonderful place to stay. Loris and Ambra are wonderful hosts and it was such a friendly home away from home environment. They provide many special touches - water carafe and drinking glasses in the room (after a long flight and being dehydrated this was so welcome for use during the night!), travel adapters to borrow, slippers, a balcony to sit out and enjoy the view and read. They provided restaurant recommendations. Loris's mom's Pistachio cream crumble cake was amazing!! Breakfast was plentiful and delicious. I could go on and on... Go and book your stay at La Casa sul Mare and discover for yourself what an amazing place this is - you will be so glad you did!

We loved our stay here. Loris and Ambra are wonderful hosts. They provide the little touches not found elsewhere in Italy such as washcloths, non-slip bath mat for shower and converter outlets for your plug-ins. They arranged to have a driver meet us at the airport and also to get to our cruise ship. Breakfast has a variety of food, including eggs if you wish. Each room has a view of the sea and many restaurants nearby.

We had never stayed at a Bed and Breakfast before, but based on previous reviews we decided to give it a try. We are so glad that we did! Loris and Amber made us feel so comfortable. We felt like we were spending the night at the home of good friends. Our room was spotless, the view from our balcony was fabulous and the kitchen and food was absolutely wonderful and easy. Loris made sure that we had transportation to our cruise ship which was also a very positive experience. We highly recommend La Casa Sul Mare and we would definitely love to stay there again if we ever have the opportunity. Thank you Loris and Amber - It was such a great pleasure meeting you both!

La Casa Sul Mare was great! So glad we stayed there. Everything was wonderful especially the staff!! Ahhh…the view of the sea was beautiful! Given the opportunity we would come back!!

We syayed 1 night pre cruise Nov 2025. I wanted a room near to the sea and the cruise port. We could see the cruise ship from the balcony. The taxi to the cruise terminal is 5 mins. The sea view room is a bit more but I was happy I booked it as the others look onto the rear or side buildings. In Nov I found it quiet enough and theere is a shutter on the windows if you need it. Bear in mind that on the sea front the younger Italians can go out later at night from midnight onward until 3am. There is a cafe/bar 4 stories below that is open late. This B&B sits within a very large building with other small businesses there and other small/similar accomodations. We found the building quiet and we syated on a Monday night. I very much liked the view, balcony seating and table. We ate breakfast there. This is a breakfast service where a staff member attends to facilitate. Fridge has free items with paid for alcohol option. We just used tea/coffee outside the beakfast. I found the room very clean and tidy with ample plugs/usb/c and an adapter available on loan if needed for UK. The staff and owner were very accomodating and we were met by the owner from the taxi which has in the side street. I would happily stay there again and reccomend to anyone who wants a close proximity to the cruise terminal.

What a rare gem. We were treated like family from the moment we arrived. Comfortable, great views, ideal location. Loris made dinner reservations for us. It was a beautiful seaside place with some of the best food that we had on our 2 week trip. The owner of the restaurant guided us to a Sardinian Vermentino, that was sensational. My wife said that the mattress was the best she had ever slept on. Easy to walk to the bus to start our cruise.

Another fabulous stay and well looked after by Loris and Ambra. Airport transfer and also the drop off the the cruise terminal was arranged through Loris which also was seamless and we were met on arrival with Loris taking the bags to the room. The bed is very comfortable, the room and common areas spotless and smelling lovely and of course the amazing views from the room and balcony. You really can’t go wrong staying here.

Perfect for a pre- or post-cruise stay. Fantastic location near shops, restaurants, beach, and train station. Everything is within walking distance. Our room was exceptional! The bed was amazingly comfortable, and the room was spotless. The continental breakfast was delicious, with numerous choices of pastries and fresh fruits.

We stayed here the night before our cruise and we could not have wished for a better place to stay. Loris and Ambra organised our limo from the airport and our transfer to the port. As soon as we pulled up to the building Loris was there straight away to greet us and take our cases. The room was awesome - overlooking the beach and with a lovely balcony to sit and watch the world go by. Ambra prepared and served our breakfast which was delicious. Having access to tea, coffee, water, fruit and other refreshments 24/7 was a lovely bonus. We highly recommend this B & B for your future stay. Civitavecchia has a lot to offer.

Please be informed. This is an apartment. You walk up 17 large steps and down long hallways without windows to get to the small elevator. The hallways provide an unsafe feeling. There is kitchen with sofa and all the bedrooms are off the kitchen. This is the common area. No real sitting area is available. This property does not have an employee on duty in the B & B and if needed a phone call must be made. Cancellation is more than 30 days out and the owner sends his worker and communicates through the worker. The view is beautiful of the ocean. The bedroom is small and the bathroom lacks towel racks. Breakfast is good. I personally feel that their depiction of the property is misleading. Having traveled for many years in our opinion, this is NOT a five star.

The view was great, location was great, restaurants near by were great and got a ride to the ship for us.

My husband & I stayed at La Casa Sul Mare in September, 2025. The location was central to many attractions. While we didn’t get to partake in breakfast (early flight) it certainly looked to be a delicious experience. Lorris & Ambra were warm & friendly & truly made us feel welcome. Great place to stay the night before our cruise. We had been traveling close to 36 hours and the hospitality we received was second to none. Great room, great and very friendly service. Nice personal homely touch, very far from home. The best part was meeting other travellers and sharing stories over a very generous breakfast provided by the hosts. Highly recommend.

We truly ADORED Loris, Ambra, and our authentic, romantic, Italian evening! This was our very best B & B experience ever, with the warmest of owners and staff! Ambra was extremely helpful, and Loris was incredibly humble and welcoming! We received insightful and detailed pre-visit communication. They were always quick to respond to our inquiries, and arranged all of our transportation needs for our entire visit. Upon arrival, we were surprised with charcuterie and prosecco on the balcony for our Anniversary! Our room was spotless and we had a gorgeous ocean view! This is a very beautiful, romantic and peaceful place!!! Breakfast was fresh Italian coffee, juices, and pastries, granola, boiled eggs, and fruits! There were additional delicious offerings as well! Ambra delivered our coffee and breakfast to our balcony! The Italian coffee was awesome! The common room was open 24/7 and fully stocked with delicious drinks, and fresh Italian goodies! An honor bar was available with more lively spirits! We walked on the beach across the street and found many wonderful restaurants and bars close by! Loris and Ambra were truly-truly some of the finest hosts we have ever had, and we are world travelers so this says a lot! We highly recommend this lovely bed and breakfast to everyone! Go meet Loris… he’s truly wonderful!!! We cannot wait to return!

This tiny five-room boutique hotel is a peaceful retreat just steps from the sea and within easy walking distance of the port and train station. Truly ideal for a pre- or post-cruise stop, or a relaxing weekend by the water. From the moment we arrived, the owner made us feel completely at home. He’s one of those rare hosts who genuinely loves what he does. He and his staff were warm, accommodating, and always ready with local recommendations or a helping hand. He even helped us with our bags and arranged transport details without hesitation. You can tell that every guest matters here. The rooms are spotless, bright, and thoughtfully designed, with little touches that make a big difference. Ours had a lovely balcony with a view of the water, and we enjoyed sitting there with morning coffee, listening to the sounds of the harbor waking up. The location is absolutely Devine! The room we stayed in was ocean front with a gorgeous veranda ocean view. Now let me talk about the service!!! We travel a lot and the service here was top notch! They truly wanted us to enjoy ourselves and not worry about anything. Fresh fruit, snacks, baked goods and lattes/cappuccinos made to order. This experience has been one of our favorites. Thank you Loris and Amber for showing us kindness and true service culture. 10000000% recommend!

The people are Responsive Organized Friendly and Helpful. Rooms are bright pretty comfortable and of course clean. Location is perfect for the cruise port and Civitavecchia is nice to visit in its own right.

I can’t begin to express how amazing our stay was at La Casa sul Mare! Don’t let the immediate outside area deceive you! Loris was waiting for my husband and I when we arrived from our cruise to escort us upstairs and insisted that he handle all of our luggage. Ambra was waiting at the top of the elevator to welcome us. We arrived really early and took advantage of the early check in option. Ambra prepared us cappuccino and a lovely breakfast that we enjoyed on the balcony overlooking the sea. The location is perfect - it’s walkable from the cruise port and an even shorter walk to the train station. There are many bars/restaurants near. We spent the day enjoying the beautiful beach and then Loris secured us a dinner reservation at a delicious seafood restaurant. We watched the sun set and then ended the day enjoying drinks back in the room. It’s the little things that really make a difference and they have thought of everything. The shower was incredible after several days on a cramped ship, and they even had a hair dryer WITH a diffuser attachment, slippers, and water for the room. It was such a cozy, enjoyable experience we wished we could have stayed for longer. We will definitely be back and can’t recommend this property enough!!!

Having never stayed at a Bed & Breakfast before we were a little concerned but having read the previous reviews we decided to give it a try. We are so glad we did!! Loris and Amber treated us like family from the minute we arrived. Our balcony room was spotless with a great view of the harbor. Breakfast and snacks were so good and convenient. We recuperated there after long flights and in anticipation of our 11-day cruise booked for the next day. Loris made sure we had transportation to the cruise pier which is only a short distance away. Civitavecchia is a great city and we would love to visit again. If we do, we will certainly be staying at La Casa Sul Mare! Thank you Loris and Amber.

An incredible sea view, truly unique, framed by spectacular floor-to-ceiling windows 🌊✨. Stylish interiors, amazing breakfast and flawless cleanliness. Nothing is missing, everything is top level — simply extraordinary, a perfect 10/10.

Loris and Ambra made us feel like we were as welcome as if we were family. Loris met us on the street and carried our luggage to the room (who does that?). Every question we asked was answered with enthusiasm and great detail. They definitely make you feel like you are home.

A beautiful small B & B, clean comfortable & a feel of nothing would be too much trouble. Not that we needed anything as everything that you could wish for during your stay was thoughtfully there. The breakfast was lovely & having access to free coffee, fruit & snacks at anytime was an unexpected bonus. Loris & Ambra were excellent hosts, very friendly & efficient. Would recommend ear plugs for light sleepers as music from nearby bars could just be heard until late. Definitely would recommend to other travellers though as this was perfect for our 2 nights pre-cruise.

We needed a last minute room due to a transit strike in Rome. We were very fortunate to get the last room due to a cancellation. Staying at La Casa Sul Mare was one of my best travel experiences! Loris was so helpful and he arranged private transport from the airport when others told us we needed to reserve it months in advance. Ambra was also very friendly and they both provided lots of local sightseeing and dining suggestions. The pistachio cake (made by Rita - Loris' mother) was delicious! Everything was very clean, comfortable with a beautiful sea view from the balcony. The location was close to everything. We would love to come back and stay longer!

Exceptional!!! We were welcomed by the owner and staff, felt right at home. short walk from train station, 15/20 min walk to our cruise ship. rooms were very clean and modern, and the view from our balcony was amazing. fresh fruit and baked goods always available. do not hesitate with this one. highly recommend and will stay again.

In the middle of a 2 week trip my family and I stayed 2 nights at LA Casa Sul Mare.We felt so at home and could not imagine feeling in better and safer hands then that of Loris and Ambra.Loris was waiting to handle all our luggage and personally handled all of our transportation needs of entire trip.Never felt alone as we were being contacted to see if we were ok.Can't wait to go back at earliest convenience. Felt like part of the family and most comfortable at this bed and breakfast.

We booked this place several weeks before our Rrival. Loris, the owner met the car when our driver pulled up to the front door and took our luggage. We met Ambra who showed us around. Both Loris and Ambra were so kind and informative. The place is in the perfect location. Our room and balcony over looked the bay and street. We wandered around town, had pizza and beer, enjoyed the area. The next morning we had a delicious breakfast and Loris arranged our car to the port. It waa our first time in Italy. Loris and Ambra made us feel right at home. We recommend La Casa Sul Mare to anyone who is looking for hosts that go to the extra time in making their guests feel cared for and important! What a find! We will recommend this B&B to everyone! Thank you Ambra and Loris!

Loris, the owner, and Amber, could not have been any more helpful or welcoming!! Loris met us at the train to help with our luggage. He gave us a fantastic restaurant to go for lunch and the food was delicious! We loved sitting out on the balcony to watch the waves and the sunset. 🌅 would definitely recommend staying here.

We had a great stay, at this bed and breakfast. It’s a really nice apartment/condo. And they book out the rooms. The staff Ambra and the owner Lauren were very friendly and so welcoming. The place was very clean, the room and bathroom were spotless, and fresh mats were provided in the shower. Breakfast was provided every morning from 8am to 10am. The view from our room was gorgeous. We had a balcony with an ocean view and a ferris wheel that lit up at night. It was pretty cool to see. There are lots of Resturant’s around the area and a few stores. The location is walking distance from the cruise port. I would definitely book here again!
