Staff very friendly. Location is very near to onsen town. Dinner and breakfast provided is very delicious and filling. We try the private onsen and the environment is clean and comfortable.

The hotel lift need to wait for a while.

Tout. Le ryokan est dans la rue à laquelle vous pensez quand vous venez ici, la balade le soir est donc encore plus sympa. Le personnel est aux petits soins, d'une très grande amabilité. Le goûter d'accueil nous a été très agréable, en grande partie grâce à la personne qui nous a accompagné et présenté l'ensemble. Les repas (kaiseki) très nourrissant bien que, évidemment, il y ait des goûts et textures difficiles pour nos habitudes occidentales, surtout pour le petit-déjeuner (je ne crois pas que sur booking il y ait une option pour un petit-déjeuner continental plus occidental). Les bains du ryokan sont très agréables, les bains extérieurs en particulier. C'est chaud et il faut donc y faire des bains courts de quelques minutes, ça détend parfaitement. Nous avions aussi un bain dans la chambre, ce fut un délice ! Ça vaut largement le coût supplémentaire. Si vous restez plusieurs jours je dirais presque que c'est obligatoire.😁 Dans notre chambre nous avons aussi eu le droit à quelques cadeaux dont des "tabi". Super pour pouvoir utiliser tout de suite les "geta" pour se balader dans le quartier. Bref toute la famille a passé un excellent séjour. J'espère pouvoir revenir, un peu plus longtemps.

Le kaiseki manque d'explications. Pour madame la propriétaire : s'il vous plaît essayez de joindre au repas une fiche détaillant les plats et ingrédients, la façon dont les sauces accompagnent les mets, ce genre de détails ajoutent beaucoup à notre plaisir de la découverte culinaire. Et si cela est possible un petit déjeuner occidental serait très bien aussi (même si je comprends que cela ne s'adresse qu'à une petite partie de votre clientèle).

We loved the staff and the excellent customer service! The owner said hi to us several times! We were picked up by staff from the train station and also used the shuttle to visit the monkeys. Our room and the onsens were beautiful! We also ate breakfast and dinner each day here and had an interesting and delicious culinary experience, including vegetarian dishes! We came during low season, so the neighborhood was quiet but charming.

The private tub was too hot for us and we did not know how to make it cooler!

Das Essen und die Gastfreundschaft waren sehr gut. Auch der Onsen ist sehr zu empfehlen. Des Weiteren ist das Personal sehr zu vorkommend und erklärt einem die ganzen Möglichkeiten. Es wurde auch auf meinen Wunsch keinen Fisch beim Essen zubekommen geachtet. Ich komme sehr gerne wieder

Das Bad und die Toilette sind etwas klein. Es kann also für große Menschen etwas eng werden. Dafür ist der Onsenbereich sehr groß und man kann dies als Alternative verwenden.

あちらこちらにお花が生けてあり、最近こんな旅館はなかなか無いので目にも嬉しかった 女将さんも上田紬がカッコよく、心遣いがうれしい。山女の塩焼きも絶品。

食事が、郷土が感じられ、とても美味しかったです！ スタッフの方々、どの部署の方も、ご対応が素晴らしかったです。 宿の随所に調度品や植物を設えられており、古きを大切にされているのが伝わってきました。 ロケーションも自然と歴史を感じられました。

The hotel staff and the owner were very courteous and make our stay very personable. The meals were great and the onsens were clean and beautiful. It was easy to access the main street with other bath houses, which runs in the back of the hotel. It was fun and romantic. Great location to stay if visiting snow monkeys also.

Very traditional Japanese ryokan experience. Staffs very very kind and accommodating. Onsen in the ryokan was nice.

Comfortable, clean and cosy property. Breakfast and dinner were also delicious! We also enjoyed the private onsen that came with the room.

the staff were wonderful, especially a young woman who often worked the front desk. All of them so kind, considerate and helpful. Dinner and breakfast were excellent, the onsens were also very lovely. The location was super.

Wish we could have had the special key for the onsens in Shibu Onsen, but we would also have had to add an extra day!

The room was spacious, if a bit dated, but the tatami mats were fresh and smelled lovely. The staff were wonderful and the traditional Japanese breakfast was fantastic. I really loved both the onsen baths.

It was a little bit further from the center of town than I expected, but it's an easy walk. I was disappointed a pass to the 9 baths of Shibu onsen town was not included in the stay, you only get the key to visit 2 other onsen in town and honestly, they were terrible, I would stick to the baths on the hotel premises, they were great.

Im Haus herrscht eine sehr angenehme Wohlfühlatmosphäre. Es ist alles sauber und gut gepflegt. Es gibt viele Angestellte, die durchweg sehr freundlich sind. Wir haben einige Tage vorher per Mail um vegetarische Verpflegung gebeten und wurden zu unserer vollsten Zufriedenheit japanisch bekocht. Sogar ohne Dashi. Wir empfehlen die Halbpension zu buchen. Es gibt im Ort nur wenige, eher einfache Restaurants. Die Onsenbäder wechseln vormittags/abends geschlechtlich und sind auch schön und jeweils mit kleinem Außenbereich. Bleiben Sie am Besten mindestens zwei Nächte um alle Annehmlichkeiten zu genießen. Wir haben uns auch mit kleinem Baby sehr willkommen gefühlt und haben dankenswerterweise einen privaten Speiseraum zugewiesen bekommen.

Die Antworten auf Emailanfragen haben etwas länger gedauert.

The keiseki dinner and breakfast were over-the-top delicious. Each plate was a work of art served in the most gracious manner. Onsen was beautiful, clean, and relaxing.

​This hotel is amazing! A true traditional Japanese experience. The staff is sweet (though they barely speak any English). We really enjoyed the breakfast and dinner as they made us a vegetarian version! The onsen is wonderful, both the public and the private one. We received Yukata, green tea, and excellent service. The location is great, free parking, and the view from the room is lovely.

Terrific experience in a beautiful town, the rooms and staff were amazing and we enjoyed our onsen.

This hotel was so luxurious and beautiful. Our room was absolutely huge with a tatami living room (tv, kotatsu, lounge, cupboards), bedroom with dim calm lighting, annex area with sink and amenities, heated toilet, and finally a beautiful wooden outdoor private onsen. Staff delivered clean yukata and treats each day, with fresh towels. The Japanese breakfast was truly a treat; tasted wonderful, fresh, with so much variety and to our surprise, it was served to us in a private room (there were multiple breakfast rooms, each morning labelled with the name of the guest on the door). We lived like pampered kings here for 3 nights. The experience was incredible and I highly recommend.

You can tell how much care is put into this place. Everything was well taken care of and cleanly and the atmosphere was great. Very relaxing! The staff was great too, very kind. I loved staying here and would definitely come again!

Tout est mis à notre disposition pour laisser place à la détente. Nous avons pu aussi réserver un onsen privé à partager en couple pour 2500¥. De plus les repas sont délicieux!

The furniture in the coffee lounge needed a little attention.

They have a very nice hotel with a big onsen and good traditional dinner and breakfast. They accommodated for allergies and preferences. They served the food in a private dining room. We where with 6 and got a nice and big room with ample room for all the plates. The onsen was nice and big and if you have tattoos you can book a private onsen for a small fee.

The rooms are a bit small for 3 people but fine for 2.

It’s not a part of shibu onsen so you don’t get access to the 9 baths. But they have really nice in hotel onsens and a private onsen rental option

The location was perfect! Town of Shibu onsen was easily accessible and then the shuttle service to the train station and the monkeys means you never felt like you were far from anything The best meals we are in Japan were probably dinner and breakfast here. Absolutely incredible cooking and presentation. We loved every bit of it!

The hospitality of this property is exceptional. We had a bad day on train change and tired, cold and frustrated got off at one station away. A quick call and the vehicle was sent to pick us from that station. We could not find anything in the town as we had reached late and the owner lady herself micro waved the frozen food we got from the vending machine. The decor, cleanliness of the property, the amenities are impeccable. We loved our stay there and would recommend it to all

The staff were absolutely incredible. So amazingly polite and attentive, a real Ryokan experience. We used the private onsen as we have tattoos, and it was a lovely experience. The food was plentiful and very tasty. Some unusual dishes and new flavours which were fun to try. We made a very stupid mistake and actually left our passports behind, but they quickly notified booking.com and forwarded these to our next hotel. Amazing staff.

Service was excellent, room was clean, felt really taken care of. Food was amazing, we were able to try the local shinshu sourced products. Their in house onsens are amazing as well. Highly recommend!

Not a minus point for us but do note that this hotel is not part of the shibu onsen group, so guests will not be able to access the 9 onsens. It was fine with us though as their own in-house onsens were beautifully maintained anyways.

I would have preferred to have a restaurant at the hotel. But, we found a good one that served breakfast.
