Cheap and near by to my workplace

The smell in the hallways and reception area is quite strong, with an old-wood and carpet-like odour. It does not feel particularly fresh or welcoming when you first enter the building. For me, the smell is strong enough that I find it difficult to stay in the hallways for long and sometimes feel the need to hold my breath. In my opinion, a hotel should have a fresh, clean and welcoming atmosphere from the moment guests walk through the entrance. Improving the ventilation, cleaning the carpets and addressing the underlying odour could make a significant difference to the first impression of the building.

It's a lovely old building but it's a bit threadbare.

Not very clean really needs a good hoover broken bedside lamp with nowhere to plug it in anyway sink tap broke...flush needs attention. These are all easily sorted in what is otherwise a good deal for a basic room ideal for an overnight work stay

Staff were very respectful and polite and helpful. Private Car Park. Breakfast was not available but the Owner recommended a Cafe Takeaway called "Sandwich" literally on the adjacent road which was absolutely 5 Stars***** Location was perfect as we were attending a Party at Penn Bowling & Social Club then the following day going the other side of Wolverhampton which was a short drive away 15 mins. Value for money in spite of a few negative issues.

Curtains were not fully attached to track. Bathroom door handle broken off. Bathroom floor very dirty. Beds very sunken and uncomfortable causing backache.

Nothing completely disappointing. As yet again they failed to live up to my expectations as last time I had booked a room, they said they had no record of it even though I had proof of purchase so I had to book into another hotel at a extra cost.

Upon using toilet after coming in from KK Steelmill the cistern continuously kept refilling during the night keeping me awake ALL NIGHT! Then using the toilet again in the morning it refused to flush. The bed was also very low and very hard. The cold tap on the basin moved through 90 degrees. No decaff coffee only a few portions of milk. The cleanliness in the room wasn't great either marks on the carpet. I would've informed the owner of my complaints face to face, the next day demanding a refund, HOWEVER, I unfortunately had to catch a train to get back for a meeting at work, just after 9am. Therefore I didn't have the time.

Arrival time from 2.00pm, very reasonable. Lovely property in a converted house, wonderfully decorated (see pics). The host was friendly and helpful. Chocolate etc snacks available at reception. The room was very clean and tidy, well appointed and spacious, perfect for a solo traveller, with a single bed. Two miles from Wolverhampton centre, easy to drive to or travel to on the bus. Given a key to the front door too, reception is staffed to 10.30pm but can then let yourself in after that time, ideal for me as I was at a gig locally that finished after then. Kettle with tea and coffee etc, small TV, usual storage facilities for personal items, nicely decorated. Shower gel provided in the bathroom, which I didn't expect. Free parking and WiFi. Breakfast available for £8 but I didn't take this option. Overall I was very happy.

The only comment on cleanliness is I put a slightly damp resealable bag on the bathroom floor which had my shower cloth etc in it and the bag/floor was dirty, but think it had been vacuumed instead of wiped down. Noisier than I expected as it's on a main road, but I didn't check this and it won't bother everybody. Earplugs solved this!

The bed was not particularly comfortable, but overall I’d still stay this was decent value for money.

The room and bedding were clean. The hotel was quiet. The ensuite was spacious and clean with a shower over the bath. There was off road parking and access to the hotel was straightforward. The hotel was within walking distance of my destination and local shops.

The decor was tired and shabby, the public areas of the hotel were dotted with an assortment of unrelated "antiques" and curios. The bedroom was small with minimal furniture, one stool which doubled as a bed side cabinet. There was no breakfast provided in the hotel. Baring in mind my stay was during a heat wave, there was no fan or air conditioning in the room.

Helpful & friendly staff. Very inviting place Room itself was pretty standard but its got everything you need, bed was very comfy. Shower was good temperature/pressure

Room couldve been cleaner, it wasnt terrible but I noticed a few stains in the bathroom. Also while the shower was good when you got it working the settings were very fiddly

The reception was good. Got good parking space.

The room and the environment did not show what I saw online. I paid for bed and breakfast. I got a rext from the hotel saying breakfast was not included. I found that very funny, although I didn't even stay to have breakfast.

It did have a unique design aspect

The room location was right by main road, neither of us had a decent night sleep

The guy who welcomed me was amazing and polite. But thats where it stops

The rooms look nothing like the pictures. Paint flaking from ceiling, plugs dont work, pubic hairs on bed linen, very dangerous exposed wiring on a light on wall. Bathroom flush made a horrendous noise for about 10 to 15 mins afterwards. Cracks in tiling, mouldy. Dirty pillow cases. Luckily I had pillows and a sleeping bag in car from the weekend before camping.

Interesting decore, a cross between a museum and an antique shop. Some good local restaurants. Dosa Hut is fantastic, Desi Sweets, also do good meals.

Nowadays in a heatwave the lack of air con is noticeable but the fan was much appreciated

It was a really nice place, it was like an oasis and made you feel you were not in Wolverhampton.

The weather was too hot and the room was properly toasty. It couldn't with air conditioning.

The location was fantastic the staff were very helpful and friendly with any Questions I had, The parking was great plenty of room.

The Hotel is very dated the sink plug was broke the bath was in possible to use as the hot tap was so slow I couldn't fill the sink so had to keep running the hot tap to have a shave.

Quiet location and friendly staff

Well I booked a suite it was massive for the price I paid it had private double doors to go out of it was nice the fact there is so much history in this hotel it was beautiful it was quiet the guy was so helpful when we checked in

The telly wasnt in front of the bed which i like in hotel rooms that was awkard the bathroom did leak for some reason but its an old building so that was to be expected some of the bedside table lights didn't work but it was no bother really the WiFi also wasnt the best

Generally rooms need updating, decor poor, dirty and grubby. Loud music from 6-1 am couldn’t sleep then the music started again at 7.20 am. Dissatisfied

The only issue we had was the tv signal and YouTube and it could be a little cleaner but nothing crazy still a lovely place and i will be back again

Excellent value quiet hot water near takeaways

I really liked the place, the room, the location, it was pleasant and calm. There are lots of interesting antiques that you can appreciate.

It was clean and the staff was lovely and just really comfortable stayed here a few times now and will definitely book again

I loved how welcoming and friendly the manager was from the moment I arrived; they made my stay really pleasant. The property was comfortable, clean, and had everything I needed for my 2-night stay. It’s in a great location, quiet but easy to get around, and offered excellent value. I felt very well looked after and would happily stay here again.

The place was very clean with easy access and exit.

There was no breakfast, and situated away from cafes/restaurants. The bath was slippery for our age group for showering and water pressure not great, also only bath towels no hand towels. we were also assured ground floor but were given first floor and stairs very steep for our age group whereas we saw young couples on ground floor.

It had beautiful antique furniture around the building.

There was no breakfast but I was informed of the change before I arrived.

there was no tissue box in the room and no water bottles. and there was also no floor mat and hand towel in the washroom which was provided after a request.

A big room has had the suite on the ground floor, big bath and very quiet A 25 minute walk into the centre or an 5 minute Uber ride

Good location for our particular stay. We have been regular guests over the years.

We stayed two nights and our room was not made up in between. The bed was comfortable but only a standard double size. Furniture looked ‘tired’. Good shower over the bath despite leaking under the screen onto the floor.

I loved the unusual & fascinating collection of vintage and antique furniture and other items in the hotel, was like a little museum. The room was spacious, bright and clean. The value for money. Will be returning as we have to visit Wolverhampton again soon.

Breakfast would have been great to be able to add.
