Had a memorable stay at Kapama Reserve with a group of friends. Of course, we saw all the big five and that was amazing in itself, but what made our trip very special was the splendid hospitality that Kapama offered. Every simple detail was taken care of, from our personal guide and the welcome drinks waiting at our arrival, the warm towels handed in after a dusty walk, the hot water bottles tucked in our blankets for the cold early morning drives. I would be remiss not to mention our excellent guide Mark, who generously shared his immense knowledge on animal and plants, and guided us through three days of adventures, including two memorable bush walks - highly recommended for all visiting. And of course, a warm thank you to our splendid host Nathalie, who went above and beyond to make sure sure our stay was indeed, memorable.

This camp was our special pick of the 3 safari camps we had booked for our trip. Truly 5 star without a doubt and the “tent” was next level as the shower definitely the highlight. The bedding was so comfortable and the water babies just added to the cosiness on the cold nights.All the staff from management down made you feel welcomed and appreciated and nothing was too much or a bother. The level of service truly is indicative of training and care for the guests. The food and variety of the menu was 6 star and above and beyond restaurant quality. Definitely one location to return too, and the extra present for the birthday was so appreciated.

We stayed 3 nights, and it was one of our best holidays. From the two game drives, to the outstanding service and amazing food/wine this we recommend Buffalo Camp without hesitation.

The four days spent at Kapama Camp exceeded our expectations! From seeing all big 5 animals up close, to fine cuisine meals, luxury accommodations, all in the company of exceptional staff and service. Don’t change a thing! It is perfect for any couple seeking privacy, a unique experience, pampering and being surrounded by knowledgeable and kind staff and guests.

From the moment we arrived to a warm friendly and informative greeting until the moment we left it was an incredibly wonderful experience. The game driver and tracker were informative and went out of their way to make sure we saw as many of the animals as we could. The food was excellent and the variety was great. The room were comfortable and well equipped.

If you want an ultra luxurious Safari trip, don’t look any further - this place is amazing!! Staff friendly, inclusive drinks at the bar and in your room (re-stocked daily) hot water bottles in morning drives and put in your bed at night was a really excellent and welcome touch (June is cold early and late). The food is fine dining, so good it’s ridiculous! The place is stunning!

Luxurious stay directly amidst the bushveld if you want to avoid hotel atmosphere. Excellent tents, staff & food. Safaris eye to eye with wildlive twice a day and we could not get enough.

What a fantastic experience we had at Kapama Buffalo Camp. This was our first safari and we were told by several experienced safari goers that we couldn’t have chosen better. Our rangers were brilliant, so knowledgeable and caring with the animals. Our sightings were awesome and every day was different. The staff were lovely and we were made to feel so welcome and looked after. The food was incredible, you don’t go hungry! Just loved it all

This was the most amazing experience we have ever had on holiday, when we arrived at Hoedsprut airport we were apprehensive of what was going to happen. We were met by Tambo our guide/ tracker/ driver even waiter, he could not of been more helpful. Leaving the airport to go to camp 30 minutes away on our safari jeep he explained we were now on safari , sure enough he was showing us Impala giraffe and many other. Arriving at camp we were met by the lovely Natalie who oversees the camp and made us so welcome. We left on our evening safari with Tambo and spotter Kenneth who again so friendly, they showed us the wildlife looked after us it was astounding how they could find them track them, even the lions on a 6-10 feet from us elephants leopards saw the big 5 in a few days absolutely brilliant Out early in the morning to find animals again and they sure did zebra rhino hippos it was amazing something we will never forget Food in the camp was first class you’ll never eat the amount of food that’s on offer and certainly up there with Michelin star cuisine. We certainly will be back God Willing

I found booking a safari very intimidating but Buffalo Camp could not have been easier and it far surpassed our expectations. The blend of luxury and friendliness is just right. We had an extraordinary time and immediately when we got home started looking to see when we could return.

THere is nothing we can crticize about our 4 night stay at Kapama Buffalo Camp - food was good variety and excellent quality, staff was friendly and helpful and just the best, the grame drives were awesome with different experiences each time out and one of the best drivers we have ever had, the tents were extremely comfortable and clean and ahd everything we could have asked for. Just catn't imagine it being any better.

We loved having the experience of two excellent & very different resorts with excellent staffs. Kapama River Lodge was larger with more than one restaurant. Kapama Buffalo Camp was an intimate tented camp - loved watching the mischievous monkeys playing near the one restaurant every day. Both resorts had terrific food and very responsive service-oriented staffs. Our drivers and spotters at both resorts were very knowledgeable, personable and really great.

Buffalo Camp was more than we could have expected and we are already making plans to return. It is luxurious but also intimate. The food is exceptional and the rooms are beautiful. The staff is always warm and welcoming. Our guide Themba and tracker Kenneth were great and found all of the animals we were looking for and explained everything. It's a perfect place.

Very kind, helpful and professional staff in the reception. Delicious food, served with compassion, very, very clean and sooo beautiful. The tracker and our guide were formidable, taught us a lot, tracked invisible animals and had a very respectful way towards the animals. The guide was also an excellent driver. Thank you!

Buffalo Camp's lodges are pure luxury. Exceptional staff, great food, very knowledgeable and experienced Ranger and Tracker.

As seasoned travelers (but first-timers to a safari and South Africa), this was truly one of the most extraordinary experience of our lives and it exceeded all of our expectations. The staff (all professionals) became family for a few days and the property and the magic of Africa did not disappoint!

The safari experience is made easy, comfortable and totally amazing at Kapama Buffalo Camp. The tents are luxurious, the food and beverages are plentiful and delicious and nothing is too much trouble for any of the members of staff. It is never possible to predict what wild animals you will see but our driver and guide were brilliant at finding us wildlife to watch, we were never disappointed.

If you seek a place to experience the whole variety of the african wildlife with highly experienced guides in a luxurious but relaxed ambient, where every staff member is up to giving you the best possible experience - Kapama Buffalo Camp is the place to go. The tented bungalows offer everything you can wish for, the food choices are a highlight on every meal and services just perfect.

I visited the Camp with my friend and her 2 teenage boys. None of them had ever been to Africa or been on a Safari before. I was anxious that the visit gave them the 'thrill' of seeing the big animals and that the accommodation was luxurious and the staff helpful. All my hopes were fulfilled and I'm delighted I chose this camp for our first visit.

We had a fantastic time at the Buffalo Lodge. Natalie, Vern and Endy and the entire team made it very special. We got to see so many animals and enjoyed learning about the natural environment and animals from Vern and Endy. To return after each drive to amazing food and the luxury of the lodge was brilliant. Cannot recommend it highly enough.

We had the most amazing experience at kapama buffalo camp! I cannot reccomend it enough! I was torn between a few different places, this was our first safari so I wasn't sure what to look for. I am SO pleased I settled on this one! From the minute you're picked up at the airport to the minute you're dropped off it is amazing! The staff are sooo wonderful they cat do enough for you. The game drives & drivers are brilliant! We had sippo and tembo & they were brilliant! Really knowledgeable and fun! The room was so beautiful, animals were lying sleeping under it when we arrived! The food... wow! I am vegetarian and was worried about what I'd eat but I couldn't have had more options. Every menu had plenty of veggie options and if ever there wasn't something I fancied, they chefs were more than happy to make me something different! The waiters were attentive, remembering your drinks orders and never letting a glass get empty. I was lying by the pool one day and he brought me the soft drinks he knew I'd been drinking and just set them beside me. Eveything, was so far past our expectations. Our only regret is not booking more than 2 nights!

We wanted to do a safari for the first time and had looked at a few different places. I wasn't sure which to book and I am so glad we booked here! From the second we landed at the airport everything was amazing. Within 20 minutes of landing we were already seeing animals on our drive through the reserve. We had amazing guides who were knowledgeable and fun. We were welcomed by staff with drinks and smiles. They showed us around the camp and took us to our room. We stayed at buffalo camp. The rooms were beyond anything I'd expected. There were animals lay sleeping under ours when we arrived! The rooms were cleaned twice daily, beds made, fridge restocked etc. The food was the best we've ever had. I am vegetarian and was worried I'd be hungry, knowing there wouldn't be shops around I had planned to take some snacks but there was no need at all. I was told on day 1 if I wanted something that wasn't on the menu I could just ask, I never needed to do this as every menu catered for everything. The staff serving your food and drinks were brilliant. They remembered what drinks we liked and would just bring things over. One day I was lay by the pool and someone brought over a water and a Coke Zero, knowing they're the 2 things I drank through the day. Attention to detail was beyond. Our game drives were amazing! Our hosts were so fun and knowledgeable and we saw absolutely everything! We booked for 2 nights and wished we had done longer. It was the best trip we have ever been on!

We enjoyed our recent stays, so that we came back again. A heartwarming welcome, employees are very attentive and friendly (a special thank to Mhpo and Dennis), a delicious 3 course meal at lunch and dinner, cozy accommodation in the bush with a deck to rest. Well maintained roads, driver and tracker on the vehicles. We had a very good time and fun with Wern and Endy during the drives and stops.

Everything about the trip was amazing. The camp is basically an all inclusive resort with the best service and food. Plus safari of course. Our guides were well experienced and knew exactly where to find the animals!

We booked the 5-day package at Kapama Buffalo Camp. It was fantastic. A lovely little accommodation, beautifully furnished. The food was outstanding, and the game drives were perfect. Our guides, Sipoh and Thabo, showed us the Big Five and much more. Every game drive was a highlight. What was particularly special was that, although we usually only traveled with a maximum of four people, it was mostly just the two of us. Everything was perfect. We stayed at the lodge for our honeymoon and had a truly memorable experience with many beautiful moments. Even though our flight was delayed, the team was incredibly flexible and picked us up from the airport without any issues. On the drive to the lodge, we already saw the first animals — such a magical and exciting first impression. And although we arrived too late for the start of the afternoon game drive, the team still managed to reconnect us with the group so we could join for the rest of the ride. Thank you, Mark — we appreciated this so much. The atmosphere at the lodge feels a little like stepping back in time, in the best possible way. It’s exactly how we imagined a safari lodge from all the books we’d read — classic, timeless, almost as if from years ago, but with all the luxury and comfort you need. We loved our tent: beautifully designed, romantic, with a fantastic bed and a wonderful bathtub that was perfect for warming up after the drives. Drinks were available everywhere throughout the day, and the food was excellent — especially the many thoughtful gluten-free options that were always provided without me ever having to ask. We did, however, experience extremely strong winds (around 60 km/h) and a lot of rain, which made the tent move and become quite loud at night, so sleeping was a little difficult. This was in November, with temperatures dropping from 35°C to around 15°C overnight. During the two days of heavy rain, we returned from the drives completely soaked despite the ponchos. Still, coming back to the warm fire in the lodge, where everyone gathered to dry off, created such a cozy and special atmosphere. The game drives were a highlight thanks to our fantastic driver-and-spotter team. Even though the rain limited wildlife sightings on most drives, they gave their absolute best, and we still managed to see the Big Five. The vehicles are not overcrowded, which gives you plenty of space, and the sundowner and coffee stops in the bush felt magical every single time. Unfortunately, due to the weather, only two of our drives were not heavily affected by rain, and we could only do proper stops on those. Despite the challenging weather, the kindness of the staff, the intimate atmosphere, and our one sunny game drive made our honeymoon stay special. With a bit more flexibility for weather-affected guests, this already beautiful lodge could offer an even more exceptional experience. Just be prepared that rain is always possible — and it does

We had the most amazing experience here everything exceeded our expectations. Every moment was memorable, from the wildlife to the hospitality, and we genuinely enjoyed every part of our stay. My only worry now is that no other trip will ever live up to this one.

We are world travelers, abd must say that this was one of most incredible experiences of our lives. The "yurts" were beyond first class. There wasn't a single detail that was missed. Every staff member treated us like royalty. The twice daily game rides were breathtaking. Our guide and tracker were both incredbile at ensuring that we saw everything that we possibly could while 100% ensuring our safety. The food and the service were both exemplary as well. This is defintiely a South African destination and experience thatyou cannot miss!

Where to begin with our stay at Kapama Buffalo Lodge? We visited as part of our honeymoon and this place was everything we hoped for and more. Their attention to detail was outstanding, facilities gorgeous and the service was exceptional. We loved our room, it was so peaceful and was amazing sitting out on the balcony with monkeys and other wildlife around us. All the food we had was amazing and we enjoyed the menu change each day. The thing that really makes this place is the staff, every person we spoke with was so warm, helpful and welcoming and made our stay so memorable. A special shoutout to our guide Daniel who helped us tick off our bucket list animal sightings. We have travelled a lot but are unsure anywhere will ever compare to this place. It was five star luxury in a game park! The drives were excellent - we saw lions, buffalo, elephants, rhinos, hypos, hyenas, leopards, giraffes,m and more. The staff, especially our guides Ben and Brighton, were brilliant. There was an excellent bar, menu choices for breakfast, lunch and dinner. It was a great stay and we were sorry to leave.

Absolutely marvellous. We were picked at the airport by safari trucks and this is where our adventure began, seeing all manor of animals on the short trip to Kapama. When we arrived at our destination we were met and welcomed by friendly members of the staff for a seamless check in. The 'tents' were beyond comfortable, nothing had been forgotten, wonderful. Everything was organised with perfection. Food and drink was fantastic and plentiful. Safari trips, both morning and evening were truly wonderful, from the big 5 to everything else; reptiles, insects, birds and so many more. Our guide, Wern, was extremely knowledgeable and Indy, the spotter was brilliant too. Both of them were approachable and we soon developed a good rapport and felt (and hope) that we left as freinds, it's certainly how it seemed. 5 star accommodation - big rooms with modern amenities, excellent staff, great dining experience, caters to vegetarians and custom meal requests to support dietary requests. Every staff member is there to support customers experience, this makes it all about it. Spa is excellent with a zen like experience, one must experience to appreciate it. Game drives are excellent and you will see big 5 and more. Mark the guide is excellent and strives hard to give you the best experience. I would suggest the team there not to change guides in the middle of the schedule as it disrupts the customer experience as the new guide does not have the carryover of the previous guide. This made my last 2 drives a poor experience.

An unforgettable holiday. From the moment we arrived the service from staff was truly exceptional. The accommodation was beautiful, every little detail had been thought of. The food 5 star and a superb choice, there was something for everyone. The highlight was the safari. Our Guide Ben and Assistant Guide Thabo made our holiday so much fun, they made it a very personal experience and we never knew what to expect, whether it be a morning drive or evening drive, we were never disappointed. They went above and beyond to track the animals, it really is an amazing experience. When we left, both my husband and I felt very emotional as we hadn’t expected such a wonderful holiday. I don't think I've experienced such personalised and caring service in any hotel (check my reviews - there are a few) Our room was amazing (Kudu) looking over the tree tops which suited us being interested in the birds. Not one things was a failure....wake up calls - on time, game drives - amazing 3 hours per drive of pure wonder and discovery ( thanks toThemba and Kenneth). And then to food....wow...every single dish was top restaurant quality. Thank you to the team and Natalie...it takes a village :-)

Kapama Buffalo the private preserve was an amazing intimate place to experience a safari. There are only 10 "glamping tents" so it is a very intimate environment with only a few guests at a time. Everything about Buffalo camp is incredible! From the quality of the Safari (we saw so many animals up close and observing them doing their thing). Talking to other people that went to Kruger national Park, they seem to not see the animals close as we were able to at Kapama Reserve. The dining was gourmet style with an incredible menu choices. Having all the drinks included was very nice. I can't say enough about the attention to detail, hospitality and service that the Buffalo camp staff extended to us. There are other camps at the Kapama Reserve that are larger, have Jim and spa type amenities and allow kids. However, the intimate environment at Buffalo camp is an incredible experience especially for a couple.

We absolutely loved our stay at Kapama Buffalo Camp — it was a perfect blend of adventure, comfort, and luxury. The camp itself is beautifully maintained: from the outside, the tented suites have a charming treehouse-style look, but inside they are clean, luxurious, and thoughtfully designed. The bathroom and shower were excellent, and we really appreciated the small pantry always being stocked with snacks and drinks. The room was cleaned twice a day, and the housekeeping staff deserves five stars — everything was spotless, and the attention to detail was like that of a five-star hotel. Of course, the game drives were the highlight of our adventure — exciting, educational, and unforgettable. We also enjoyed the bush walk, which offered a different, up-close experience of the reserve. The fine dining each night was a treat, and we loved the chance to try exotic meats like crocodile, springbok, and kudu. From reading other guests’ reviews before our trip, we noticed many people praised the friendly and knowledgeable guides, the peaceful setting of the camp, and the personalized service — and we can now say we completely agree.

The management and staff at Kapama Buffalo Camp are outstanding, as are the accommodations and food. We saw the big five while on wonderful safaris thanks to our guide and tracker, Ben and Thabo. We would highly recommend this camp while in South Africa.

We have just finished a four night stay at the Buffalo Camp and we cannot recommend it enough. The trip was a trip of a lifetime. The staff at the camp are all so welcoming and lovely and honestly we cannot thank them enough. Our guides, Trust and Endy were absolutely incredible. They kept us entertained and were extremely knowledgeable on the wildlife and we were incredibly lucky to see all the big five while we were away. We went on the complimentary bush walk with Ben and Endy which was very good and we learnt a lot! So thank you to all the people working at the Buffalo camp - you made our trip so special! The food was incredible - you will never go hungry!! We are both vegetarian so really appreciated options and very good food! Our meals were made even better by Dennis who was always so smiley and happy! Thank you! The room itself was impeccable. Thank you to the staff for always keeping the room so clean and tidy, it really helped after a long day! Also, the camp is child free so a very relaxing environment! If you ever get the opportunity to go on a safari, I would really recommend going here!

We stayed four nights which means eight game drives and countless number of meals. All members of the staff go above the call of duty, the waiters remember your preferences. We learned so much about animal behavior from the knowledgeable game driver/guide and tracker. Obviously each game drive is unpredictable but over several of them, we had many closed encounters and witnessed amazing sights. The luxury tents are a reminder of old times but with a modern touch. The food is of the most upper class. An unforgettable experience.

As a professional tour director, this was the 4th group I've brought to Kapama, but our first time staying at Buffalo Camp. Every aspect of our stay was truly outstanding and we look forward to returning again and again, well into the future!

Buffalo Camp is an experience we can’t put into words. From the staff, to the accommodations, the food and the animals - so many animals! We’ve never enjoyed a place more. We will be back to visit. We felt like family in just the few short days we were there.

This was already our third stay at Kapama, and once again it was a truly memorable experience. From the moment we arrived, we felt warmly welcomed – the reception staff were excellent. Our accommodation was wonderful, and the morning and evening drives with our guide and assistant guide were simply fantastic. We couldn’t have asked for a better safari experience. The meals – from breakfast and lunch to high tea and dinner – were absolutely perfect, and the entire staff was always friendly and attentive. Another highlight was that shortly after our arrival, we decided to extend our stay by one more night, and the lodge offered us a great deal, which we really appreciated. Overall, our time here was just amazing, and we will definitely remember it as a very special experience.

What an incredible place . From the moment you are greeted at the airport you knew something special was coming . Spotted rhino 100m inside the gates on way to check in . The greetings from staff and the simply wow experience when you arrive to camp. The rooms are too good to describe , the food is as good as you will eat any where in the world let alone the African bush . The twice daily safaris offer up Something different everyday . Simply put this is the most amazing packs to enjoy African Safari holiday .

From the second we got picked up at the airport with a sign, spotted giraffes and elephants on the way to lodge, and every single moment in between we we’re overwhelmed with the hospitality and experience of Buffalo Camp at Kapama. Location was excellent looking out to bush and animals. All food was excellent, a very high standard and there was plenty of it!

We enjoyed every single aspect of our stay. From accommodation, food and beverages, the daily tours, the staff who were a very welcoming and there to helo you!!! We also saw the Big 5!!!

This was one of the greatest trips of my life. The service was extraordinary, the wildlife was so incredible- they really aim to make your experience top notch and it is!

We went to Kapama mid July , they let us know this is the best time to go because it is their summer and the grass is shorter so it’s easier to see animals. We were lucky enough to see the Big 5! The staff was very friendly every morning and evening , they have snacks and drinks they give you mid game drive that was a nice surprise!

Saw all the animals up close and was educated by the guide. Camp provided amazing food and hospitality. Even on the safari drinks were provided. The comfort of guests was top priority.

Kapama was unforgetable. Ben, our guide, and his spotter Godi were phenomenal. Ben’s knowledge of the wildlife and the environment, paired with Godi’s sharp eyes, made every game drive a highlight of our trip.
