The hostess Julie, was so welcoming and cooks a mean breakfast. Beautiful property, with the most comfortable beds. If I stay at the IOW again, this will be my first choice of places to stay.

You can lock your bike up. The owner is very friendly and amenable. The room was comfortable and the shower was hot and had plenty of pressure. Home cooked breakfast was delicious. The location was excellent for walking to local restaurants and shops.

My wife and I stayed here recently, and it turned out to be the perfect choice. It’s just a short walk from Newport Bus Station, so getting there by public transport was really straightforward. We also loved how close it was to shops, pubs, and restaurants everything we needed was walking distance. Our room was spacious and very comfortable, and Julie, our host, couldn’t have been more accommodating. She was warm, understanding, and happy to help with any extra requests we had, which made the stay even better.

Helpful staff and a comfortable, quiet room wth everything we needed. Close to all shops in Newport. Easy parking. A really good option for our low budget, and we stayed on two occasions.

Bathroom could do with an update and somewhere to put your bottle of shower gel in the shower. 3 rooms and 2 breakfast tables means you have to book your breakfast slot. Fine on holiday but may not suit travel for work.

The room matches the photos and description; it is clean and tidy, with good beds and a nice shower room. The breakfast was delicious and freshly prepared. The hostess was welcoming—it felt just like visiting relatives.

Our stay with Old Church House was lovely, so warm and welcoming. It felt like staying with family or an old friend from the second we stepped inside. The host is an amazing lady and you are staying in her home. She keeps her home very nicely as a lived in space. Areas such as the hallway, staircase, landing are shared spaces between guests and the hosts family and for me this added to the welcoming experience. Breakfast was very good and hearty. There are many lovely pictures and paintings on the walls, shelves full of books to browse and borrow, and a selection of board games in the breakfast room. The house is very central in Newport right in the centre of the Isle Of Wight. Newport is a pretty working town with banks, restaurants, supermarkets etc. Being in the middle of the island everything the island has to offer is no more than a 25 min car journey away. And the island has a lot to offer for a holiday, from some of the most stunning perfect sandy beaches with the warmest waters in the UK, fossil hunting, nature reserves, windy seaside walks, beautiful views, stately homes, and some fantastic seafood restaurants.

I feel welcomed when I arrived on the hotel. The place are easy to find, easy to access to the bus stop. Just 1 to 2 minutes you're on town. It's been amazing experience comfortable sleep, good breakfast and quiet area. Thank you I enjoyed staying in your hotel. Would like to come again soon.

Een leuke B&B, meubilair wat gedateerd, maar Julie is een erg aardige host. Tijdens ons verblijf was het erg warm in Engeland en dus ook op onze kamer. Maar Julie zorgde voor 2 ventilatoren zodat we toch nog wat verkoeling hadden. Ontbijt is prima verzorgd.

Lieve gastvrouw. Goede douche. Goed bed. Ontbijt was voldoende. Als je van typisch Engels houdt, is dit een goed adres.

Het is wel behoorlijk gedateerd allemaal. Onze kamer was erg warm.

Julie is a wonderful and incredibly helpful host who answered all of our questions promptly. The room itself was clean, spacious, and styled with lovely, simple decor. Having an en-suite bathroom was an excellent added bonus. To top it off, the hearty morning breakfast was delicious and kept us full well into the early afternoon.

Dirty, dusty, rundown, no air conditioning, and a glass window in the bathroom with no blinds or curtain looking directly into a public car park.

The accommodation was perfect. I highly recommend it. The breakfast was fantastic, the room was exceptionally comfortable, and the hosts made us feel very welcome. We felt even better than at home. Thank you for such a wonderful stay!

Location was really good and ideal for town centre as was a short walk.

TV could has been a little bigger and more modern as my Firestick was not supported.

What a great BnB! I stayed in 2 different rooms pre and post the IOW festival, both of which were extremely comfortable. A tasty full English breakfast and Julie the host is a lovely lady. A very pleasant experience thank you!

Very friendly and helpful staff. Clean comfortable room. Nice and quiet. Good breakfast, although as there are not enough tables for each room to breakfast at the same time, you have to choose your time slot. Fine if you are on holiday, but could be more tricky if you have a work deadline.

Some kind of rack in the shower for shower gels/shampoo ETC. The only place to put it is the rim of the shower tray itself.

This was a very relaxing and peaceful place to stay, centrally placed for Newport and the excellent bus hub radiating throughout the island. The host was welcoming and helpful, suggesting interesting places to visit. She very kindly cooked porridge for me every day, and the breakfast menu was substantial and varied. The room was spacious and light and although not used to a single bed, it was comfortable. An ideal place to stay. I wouldn't hesitate to return there.

A little tired in places, could do with some improvements such as scale on shower cubicle. Would benefit from black out blinds (room 2) it was very bright when the sun came up. A mini fridge would be beneficial so that fresh milk and cold water could be kept. There was plenty of space in the room to accommodate it. Overall a lovely homely cottage experience and we would definitely book to stay again next time we visit the Island.

Perfect location, so close to bus station which gives you travel all over the island. Hosts were friendly and very helpful. First time I’ve traveled alone and I felt safe and welcomed. Nothing was too much trouble, gave travel advice which really helped. Bedroom was clean and comfortable, breakfast was perfect. I will definitely go back next time I visit the island.

Lovely old house, full of character, loved the staircase - fab decor, warm spacious room, comfortable bed, tea coffee facilities and shower gel / soap in bathroom and very nice big fluffy white towels. The full English Breakfast was delicious too. 🙂

Very very minor, couldn’t work out how to turn on the light in bathroom over shower and there was no ledge / tray in the shower to pop soap / shower gel on.

We had such a lovely stay at this beautiful bed and breakfast. From the moment we arrived, everything felt welcoming and peaceful. Julie was truly wonderful — so kind, warm and always available if we needed anything. She made us feel completely at ease and looked after us with such genuine care. We loved our stay at the Old Church House. We had a large room for three which was warm and comfortable. The owners are friendly and generous hosts.Julie cooked us a lovely breakfast, served in the pretty breakfast room. The bus stop was close and it was just a short stroll to the centre of town.We would happily stay again.
