Nice size room, well decorated with smart bathroom. Staff friendly and apologetic for lack of local restaurant and informative of where to go

The on site Pub / Restaurant was closed, which meant you had to live the site and travel a few miles for dinner. Not a deal breaker, but expect USB plugs for charging items these days. On my floor the corridor carpet looked dirty, think the may have had a water leak at some point? Floor in lift was starting to come away.

Everything about our stay was exceptional, from the first staff greeting to leaving after breakfast the following day. The hotel is so clean and comfortable, everyone was very friendly and helpful. I would definitely visit again.

Shower was abit clogged on my second stay but it was sorted after my first night and the cleaner sorted it and was back to normal on my return

I was told that “Tŷ” means “house” in Welsh, but after my multiple stays at Tŷ Magor, it genuinely feels more like my second home. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. Chelsea, Joanna and the rest of the team do a fantastic job of making everyone feel welcome — no exceptions. The ladies at breakfast deserve a special mention too; they always have such a positive attitude and are a great way to start the day. A hotel can have nice rooms and nice walls, but ultimately it’s the people who make you want to come back. At Tŷ Magor, it’s not so much about the walls — it’s about the exceptional staff who make the place what it is. See you again soon!

Very clean and exactly the same as pictures online. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Everything was modern and well presented.

My only negative was I waited over an hour for a vegetarian sausage. So I think better options or care should be taken before breakfast to allow enough time for cooking etc.

Going to AGM in morning. Difficult to get to Newport without a car at a certain time. Buses only one an hour to Chepstow and vice versa. Years ago one an hour to Brewery stop very near Hotel Ty. Now nearest stop is Rectory or Queens Gardens several 100yards away. One other way years ago via SDR every hour too Similarily one bus X74 an hour to Newport but a smaller bus 74C Goes Newport to Brewery stop via Underwood tales an hour and then makes a quick return to Newport several times a day via SDR/ Last bus from Newport 21.00hrs and Chepstow 2130 hours. So leaves before choir practice finishes..

The Aircon broke in the room. The staff brought a fan but it was extremely hot during the night.

Excellent atmosphere the rooms are top drawer and the hotel it’s self spotless the staff very helpful polite and hard working the service spot on as well you couldn’t really ask for a better review

What a great place to stay, this is our business stop over when we work in the area. Great hotel, good breakfast and the staff are amazing, big shout out to Chelsea who always takes care of us!

The breakfast wasn't really worth £12, There was hardly anything left when we arrived at 9.45 even though breakfast is advertised as being opened until 10.30. No tomato or mushrooms, only beans !!! Also sausage was hardl.

The modern furniture, the reception and the lounge is really nice and modern especially with the bright colours

In the rooms they could with a bigger/smart TV and a little fridge or chiller It was was blazing hot wanted somewhere to keep our drinks

It’s been an amazing experience. From the point we messed up our booking and Ty Magor resolved it without issue to our wonderful breakfast, it has surpassed our expectations at every stage. Chelsea, who booked us in on our arrival, was brilliant and really helpful throughout our stay. The room is beautifully clean, the are beds really comfortable and the shower is great. The fitness suite has got a good range of well maintained equipment and parking was really easy with lots of spaces and no charge. All the staff are really nice and helpful.

Plan was to enjoy the breakfast after a good night sleep but the hotel couldnt accomodate the request made for my autistic kod. We all ended up in mcdonalst across the service station.

As is mostly the case, great value even when booking last-minute which is always useful for business stops . Chelsea is a fantastic front of house specialist, always welcoming, smiling & making the process of checking in that much more pleasant. In my experience, the rooms are always clean, it's quiet and the breakfast is good value for money.

The so called air conditioning is the WORST i have seen. It was a joke. I ended up getting 3 table fans in the room yet i could not sleep due to heat. The worst part was that no windows i could open so i was in a hot box the entire period. At a point i had to open the door of the room. Breakfast was also boring and tasteless.

When swiping my card to guarantee any extra costs, the member of staff validated £50.00 instead of £5.00.The next day on checking out when I asked another member of staff to cancel it, commenting on the amount, she said that was a mistake, and said she would cancel it immediately. 4 weeks later had to ring the hotel to get it done!

Breakfast was hit and miss with food items often running out. I never managed to get a full breakfast. Two heated trays for each food item would easily resolve this problem. The area lacked restaurants so be prepared to travel.

Beautiful , modern and stylish hotel . Excellent fresh food and free parking . The bed was very comfortable, nice walk in shower and had a sofa . It reminded me of the nicer hotels in London stayed at like a mini suite. I stayed in the sofa bed. Hotel staff so friendly, always service with a smile and breakfast omg beautiful Welsh sausages, creamy fresh scrambled eggs , food was top notch , fresh. Top compliments to kitchen staff.

Pleasantly surprised. Comfortable, clean, well equipped and everything and could need. Staff very pleasant and informative, even booked a table for our meal at the local eatery. Which was also good and only 2 mins away.

Have stayed here lots of times due to location and price normally low so great value for money, always find the hotel clean and tidy, car park plenty big enough. Staff amazing, Chelsea on reception always cheerful and has a smile on her face,really helpful, All the staff are great and helpful. The rooms are great again always clean, also peaceful in all the times ive stayed dont think I have had any noise from any where.

Everything - staff were incredibly warm and friendly. Room was lovely, furnished to high quality and bed/air con were amazing. As we only stayed for 2 nights I thought it was lovely that the hotel offers the option to not have the room serviced and have a complimentary drink in the bar instead which we opted for. I know this sounds silly but the thing I loved the most was the fact that there were tons of plug sockets and also a nice large TV.

Large rooms with comfortable bed (some rooms have a sofa as well), very good shower, quiet despite being so close to motorway, friendly employees. Always nice to return to.

Easy to find and close to a few different fast food restaurants. Staff were very friendly, greeted with a smile and very helpful introduction by Chelsea at reception.

The TV was a little small. That’s how few problems there were 😅

We really appreciated how organised everything looked and the how spotless every part of the room looked. The food was top tier which was my favourite thing about the hotel.

Amazing hotel and staff. booked last minute and hotel was better than I expected. Thanks Chelsea for the friendly reception upon arrival. Also the girls Claire and Vicky, looking after the breakfast were super friendly. Have to say also thanks to Dan in reception. I definitely will come back to this hotel.

The road to the hotel is a bit confusing as you go way past the hotel building and then come back down again to reach the building. Check in was smooth and efficient and the look of the hotel is far better than Premier Inn and definitely Travelodge. Room was very spacious with a lovely comfortable bed. Branded tea and coffee provided along with biscuits. The bathroom was excellent - a decent standalone shower, with decent water pressure. A holder for toiletries in the shower. The only downside was the sink - it had a large edge on it that it seemed a long way away. Provided toiletries were excellent. Breakfast was slightly better than average - much the same as other budget hotels already mentioned. Some hot food items had run out. Toaster seemed to toast on one side only. A good variety of items of items available though and at 10am plenty of room to sit down. In conclusion I would always stay at these hotels other than PI or TL. The price paid was excellent too.

Extremely clean. Shower room is lovely - walk-in shower. Air con was a bonus in the heat! The receptionist (Chelsea) was very welcoming and friendly and went out of her way to help. Queen bed was very comfy - and high! Plenty of free parking!

Lovely hotel, Chelsea on reception was amazing!

Great check-in. Chelsea the receptionist very cheery and friendly even at a late hour. Room very clean and comfortable but a little too hot( even with air-con but restricted to 18 degrees) Great breakfast team serving excellent food. The Sawyers restaurant again serving excellent food with staff especially Mia-Louise going above and beyond. 100% will stay and dine here again

Stayed at Ty Magor lots of times ,always clean and rooms are excellent, bath towels with hand body wash ,tea and coffee facilities. Parking is easy as well ,staff are very helpful and polite .

Very comfortable bed, good parking and close to the motorway. Next door there will be another EV charging hub shortly from what I can make out looking at the construction.

The room could have been cleaned more thoroughly, the shower trap was blocked with hair so the water did not drain well. The thing I did not like was the sliding glass door (no privacy) on the bathroom. I do not like this modern trend. On last thing, when the room fan was switched on, the room temperature went down to 14deg C. Nothing I could do to stop this from happening.
