New Inn by Greene King Inns

The only problem I found was there are 2 Breakfast menus on site. Both had what appeared to the same except an extra meal on one menu. That extra meal was not available to hotel guests!!

Being made to feel foolish as I couldn’t read a menu.

The room was spacious and super clean. Friendly and helpful staff. The burger and chicken wings were delicious too.

Was a last minute booking over a holiday weekend, so was a bit too far for a night out and the cost of a cab but otherwise tranquil and quiet.

We were welcomed as soon as we arrived and young lady was absolutely "Amazing!" She helped with everything we needed from bus times to parking and also a lovely breakfast with a coffee. All the staff were great we loved our stay.

very good location for a stop over ,when travelling Wales to England via M4. evening meals at really good prices! served till 8ish. (Hungry horse) menu. cosy bed. good shower, parking around the back by your room. very good price for a night.

The fan in our bathroom was very noisy even when turned off at the wall. so we had to use earplugs. plus an intermittent light flashing sensor on the ceiling, when lights were off it was very noticeable. Breakfast is £10 even though we only had continental? a little misleading on the menu.

Reasonably priced accommodation for the location and during August bank holiday weekend - short driving distance from M4. Clean and comfortable well kept rooms, plus benefitted from onsite parking. Access to the restaurant is a plus and is family friendly.

A range of specialty coffees would be a welcome addition to the breakfast drink options.

For me the location was perfect, the food was nice, parking is easy and the room was comfortable. Due to an error in booking the receptionist (Courtney) was extremely accommodating and solved the issue.

The room was lovely and clean, and we had everything we needed, tea and coffee facilities, TV, hairdryer, etc..The staff were very nice and helpful.

Although they did provide a fan, it was very hot in the room.

Our room did not disappoint our positive expectations; it was clean and cosy. The New Inn by Greene King Inn is a convenient starting point to explore south-east Wales and it has a free parking, which is a real treat; We dined in the Greene King Inn's restaurant (reachable with a dry foot, should it rain) and liked their food and Staff.

Family room was perfect and quite roomy. Bathroom was great too. The food and drink was great value for money and very tasty too.

Dodgy shower head as it had a bit of leak causing a spray effect from where it joined the hose. Apart from this it was all good.

The Price of the room was cheap £164 for 2 nights 2 people I thought it would be poor I only wanted somewhere to sleep. What I got was surprising could not fault stay. From booking in the staff where friendly and helpful. The hours of access was late plus the young lady on reception said she would be on hand staying upstairs if returning after 11. The room was hot but to be expected as it has been 30°at times outside. We were offered extra fans. Very professional attitude we were both ladies older in years the receptionist offered us a ground floor room after there had been a cancellation which was very welcome and amazing without us asking. The rooms are lovely we had 33 on first floor & were then given 9. It was clean, comfortable and equipped with everything we needed. We paid for fried breakfast which was hot well presented I had a yoghurt while I was waiting. It was perfect. We had a perfect stay I would thoroughly recommend

There genuinely was no complaints the rooms were hot but that could not be helped we had fans. Air con is expensive and not usually warrented

Staff were great. Bed was comfortable. EV charging cheap and accessible. Water pressure in shower was fantastic. Room was clean.

Room was stiflingly hot, window woudlnt open fully despite not being a fall risk. Electrical safety inspection was four years out of date. None of the usb sockets worked. The extractor fan in bathroom was unbalanced and loud. The sink plug got stuck and meant the sink couldn't really be used. The sink was loose and not attached meaning it tipped if you touched the front. Casting didn't work on the tv.

The property is kept clean and friendly. The staff are lovely and helpful and the food is delicious and good value.

Very clean, tidy room, firm comfortable beds. Plenty of sockets and USB connections. Nice bathroom towels.

Maintenance lacking in bathroom, shower controls loose. Nice to have a fan with the extreme heat but it needed cleaning as initially it struggled to turn at all. Both bedside lights spotlight bulbs failed.

Location was great and staff friendly

The room was so hot and stuffy with only a small fan. This made for an unpleasant stay

The room was of a very good size and generally in a good condition, there was a few signs of a water leak and a slight smell of dampness in the room.

I was hoping the breakfast had started earlier than 0700 as I was needing to leave before that time so was unable to get my breakfast and the wifi was not a great signal.

Staff were very friendly and helpful

No fridge or air con and lighting in bedroom had no bright light available.

Simple but clean rooms all the basics you needed staff exceptionally friendly and caring for any needs.

The room was extremely hot no air con the fan didn't work properly.we have stayed here before but was disappointed this time. Food wasnt great either.

Wanted disabled room. Had room 1 so good. Had to walk down 3steps to get to first floor. Bed uncomfortable. Noise of fan in bathroom when light off constant and disturbing

The hotel was great , modern clean and well run. Bedrooms hot and ours didn’t have a fan but after speaking with the lovely lady on reception, we should’ve gone and got one from there as they have spares Lady on reception-Jo ? Was great and super helpful and friendly Food, drinks and staff in the bar were good although it felt tired and a bit run down in there .. but we paid a very reasonable price for our stay and this didn’t affect our stay Would stay again x

Great stay. Food was excellent

The location was perfect and easy to find. The room was spotlessly clean. There was plenty of parking. The room had everything we needed. An added bonus is there is a garage and shop next door if you needed anything.

Not the fault of the place, arriving back late the vending machine didn't work which is a shame as most people were very hungry after the gig we'd been to.

The staff were fantastic, the food in the Hungry horse was very good value.

Our room was so hot with one fan and one that I brought myself. I know we are in a heatwave, but these are occurring more regularly. That was my only complaint but it spoiled the stay..

No breakfast included for £80 was a bit steep for a room only but appreciate that there are rugby and concerts on in Cardiff. No air con. Despite a bedside fan available the room was stuffy. Loud noise from bathroom fan all night despite all switches off. Had to wait to check in for over 5 mins ( not staff fault at all who are fab as they are also working the restaurant) No bath plug for bath. Building is tired and run down looking and needs a revamp. Bar and hotel really desperately need upgrading.

Excellent value for money. Booked room only, breakfast was easily accessible if wanted to eat. Hungry Horse restaurant next ddor. Easy parking, no need to reserve. Great for travelling to Cardiff stadium

Lovely quiet location, all staff we came across were very friendly, especially the lady doing breakfast she was really lovely to me and especially my son. Made our day

Room was small but was adequate for short stay, was clean and comfortable, excellent bathroom and shower was really good. Breakfast was ok with good selection from menu, the main menu was very good, and was very good quality and value for money. The down side was the property needs a bit of care and attention, but do not be put of by that it offers good value for money. Top staff Emily and Jess.

overall not much to comment on, couple pot holes on drive to rear carpark, and the need for some refurbishment.
