Super friendly staff, good food . The room was perfect. Gorgeous setting The staff and manager could not of been more helpful with our special dietary needs

When checking in for accommodation we did not know where to go and see,eventually asked a rushed waitress ( it was a busy Sunday) and she was very helpful. But a bit of guidance would have helped, maybe in a email prior to arrival. Minor issue

Absolutely loved the Old Mill, such a beautiful location, building and rooms. We will definitely be back. Staff fantastic too. Couldn’t find fault with anything (not that I would!)

Everything was good except the Mosquitos kept us awake trying to kill them, they know it's a problem but have done nothing to fix it, no plug ins no fly screen a complete lack of effort to control the problem

The location was ideal for our visit - and also the old mill in general is very nice. The "park" of the hotel is very nice and the attached pub makes diner plans easy... (if you like English food)

We had a Family room (Room 5) and it was nearly impossible for my children to sleep in the separate sleeping room. The wall to Room 6 was maximum a paper wall - you were able to hear every single word the neighbors were talking about. unfortunately our neighbours were not just talking - but they had in both nights we stayed there a party or something similar going on. I am not sensitive to noise when I sleep - but that was even too much for me. Unfortunately also knocking the wall to signalize that it is too noisy and the kids can't sleep didnt change anything - Of course the hotel can not be held responsible for their guests - but the noise transfer from the neighbor room to us was really the worst I ever experienced. Also the floor is super noisy when walking around - but thats OK - its not a new modern hotel...

This is a characterful pub or inn in extensive grounds - the outside areas of the pub are surrounded by trees. The pub is well appointed and the staff are attentive. Inside there are various seating areas although the heatwave meant that the very pleasant outdoor areas were very welcome. Having said that, in the cooler evening it was good to eat in the long conservatory which overlooks the mill stream. The grounds are lovely and worth a little exploration. Our room was well furnished, complete with a Dyson fan and Roberts radio. We had a good night's sleep with the windows wide open although we were warned that we might be troubled by insects from the stream below. We were not troubled. Dinner was very good, breakfast good without being exceptional.

I asked for real ale at the bar but was told that they currently did not serve this. Apparently they struggle to keep it in good condition in the very hot weather. Hopefully it will return as autumn and winter approach.

Stairs going up to the room - breakfast on first day was a bit manic - 1 man serving all the tables - quite a wait - probably needed another pair of hands .

A lovely location, with the Old Mill having been developed into a beautiful and stylish hotel, bar and restaurant. The room (in a house to the right of the Old Mill) was well designed, stylish and incredibly comfortable (gorgeous bed linen). The breakfast was very nice too!

It was a lovely place but was more expensive than similar places we’ve stayed in the New Forest.

The room was nicely decorated with great amenities including a Dyson fan!! Really great shower too! The pub/ hotel is situated on the river with pretty gardens.

The pub plays music from 8am through to 10pm and we could hear the base from the room. Also we came down for breakfast at 9.30am and they had run out of some items.

The staff were amazing and the breakfast was excellent. The gardens were beautiful and the river.( Also loved seeing the ducks, dragonflies, butterflies and other birds).

The room was next to a car park and you could hear people walking to their cars ,shutting car doors and driving off (particularly between 10pm to about 11:30 pm). It was also close to the road.

Our room was fine but looked out onto a flat roof above the kitchen. One of the window locks looked as though it had been forced. Lovely shower room but the step up into from the bedroom projected a sharp edge and could cause a potential injury.

This was a really lovely old converted Mill & the facilities were spot on! The grounds weee absolutely beautiful & we just wanted to sit outside our whole stay. The staff were really friendly & helpful. We had a suite & it was amazing. We definitely want to go back & we don’t say that very often!!

Attention to some details. Milk in the room was off, no toilet paper on arrival, window handle broken and toilet not functioning well. However, the room was nicely decorated and comfortable.

Very poor ventilation, window opening unnecessarily restricted. There is no legal requirement and it is obvious to anyone that there is no risk of anyone falling out of the window and certainly no greater risk than a uk house built to building regulations. Utterly stifling in the heat and completely unnecessary, the lack of ventilation and heat would be i contravention the Workplace Regulations act 1992. There are lots of Hotels in the UK with balconies, Health and Safety gone mad.

Size of room not worth the cost.

General location was well placed and convenient for reaching the many sites of interest and beauty in the area. The immediate environment around the grounds are superb. Fabulous gardens, skillfully planted around the mill stream. All of the food and service was excellent.

The road noise during rush hour times was unpleasant and impacted on our room. We needed the windows open as we were experiencing high, heat wave temperatures at the time, but the safety features on the windows made it difficult to gain adequate cooling air.

Excellent in all respects. The gardens were superb (best pub gardens we have seen). Building was lovely, staff helpful, food good.

We didn't like the dogs being allowed in the dining room but we accept this is a place which welcomes dogs. The bar was expensive.

Such a stunning location in the middle of the New Forest! The gardens and river are gorgeous, much more than any other pub has to offer, even at the start of April the gardens are stunning with ducks in the river and water trickling down to the old mill. The service, food and drinks were 10 out of 10. As a local to the New Forest myself for 50 years, I have found a place half an hour drive away that I feel like I want to spend a weeks holiday at! I can’t wait to come back again!

The Dinner: We decided to take the deal of Sunday Roast and a bottle of wine for £50 The meal seemed to be a reheated version of the midday roast with lots of thick and tasteless gravy. We thought we had simply been served the lunchtime leftovers & that was the reason for the 'deal'. When I mentioned our disappointment with dinner we were given a sincere apology and our bill was reduced.

Great little hotel, perfect location for my business trip. Dinner was great, I had a simple quick breakfast which was served quickly by very helpful and friendly staff. In the morning the river next to the hotel had flooded the garden, path to the car park and the road. The chef very kindly drove me round to the car park to get to my car. I would definitely stay here again.

The location was amazing, couldn’t ask for better and the actual pub was so beautiful and cosy. The room was spotless and things were refreshed daily. We had dinner on our first night and it was fantastic. Will definitely be returning when visiting the New Forest.

The hotel is in a great location, and the parking area is spacious and convenient. The room was large, comfortable, and very quiet. Breakfast was delicious, and all the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. My little dog was a bit too excited during our stay and may have disturbed other guests, for which I sincerely apologize. Thankfully, the hotel is pet-friendly, and I was able to take him for walks nearby to help him burn off some energy. Overall, it was a wonderful experience. I originally planned to stay for just one night but ended up extending my stay for two more nights. It was truly a fantastic stay, and I will definitely come back again!
