the room was excellent and there was so much food you could decide which elements to eat and what to leave( and always enough). The view of the bay from our room and public areas was amazing. A delightful spot.

こちらの旅館はとにかく居心地が良かったです。それなりに経っているであろう年月の建物は、隅々まで清潔に整えられており、実に気持ちよく過ごせました。また、部屋からもお風呂からも見える海の美しさに心が癒されます。 お風呂のお湯は僅かにとろみがあって気持ちがよかったです。肌がツルツルになりました。 スタッフの皆さまは、どなたも親切で優しくて、丁寧に話される方ばかりで本当に素敵な人たちでした。

良くなかった点は無いのですが敢えて何かあげるとすれば、お店がある通りから徒歩では行きにくい場所だということです。

花火はギリギリ見える位置ではなかったが、景色も良くとても良い部屋でした。

お風呂の露天がプライバシーの安全面でのことだと思うのですが曇りガラスで景色が見えずらい 売店にものが少ない。

I was blown away by the kindness and attentiveness of the staff. Everyone was so lovely to deal with! The accommodation was gorgeous, and it was so nice to wake up to that beautiful view in the morning. The weather was a bit rainy, but all the more reason to enjoy the incredible room and facilities. The accommodation was able to organise a vegan breakfast and dinner option for me with a little bit of notice. I have to say I was delighted by how delicious and well-balanced the meals were! The chef did an amazing job, and the staff really made sure everything was to my satisfaction. Thank you again for a wonderful stay! My partner and I would love to come back again.

Very very minor, but we felt that the lighting in the private bathroom could be a little bit brighter. Really nice rooms otherwise! Highly recommend the tatami room option; it was very comfortable.

The location is absolutely amazing. The views are amazing. The breakfast is plentiful. The spa is lovely (we went to a private bath). The staff treats you like royalty. The complimentary welcome drinks make it feel very luxurious.

This was my second time staying here, because I loved it SO much the first time I came, I had to come back with my partner. However, while booking the same room type ,"standard", the one we got the second time was considerably smaller than the first one and had less comfortable chairs in it. It also was right above the common viewing deck and foot soak area, which made it less private since people could look into our room from there. I thought the room was so much lower value compared to the first time that I went to check with the staff if a mistake had been made but they assured me it was not a mistake. I considered asking if we could be moved, but didn´t because I didn´t want my partners experience to be influenced by my disappointment. The room was not bad, but comparatively I think they should have put this one up as one of the more "budget" rooms. Even the budget room next door looked nicer than ours, when we got a peek inside while they were cleaning it.

Lovely ryokan with exceptionally beautiful view from the big windows in the rooms! Beautiful Onsen as well. Breakfast is full of interesting (and tasty) things - especially in our case as foreigners experiencing Japanese food. It's good to reserve plenty of time for it. The facilities are very nice, both at the restaurant and at the lounge. The location is very good for accessing the sights of Matsushima, and for just enjoying the view from the hotel itself. Staff is helpful and friendly, and they use an AI interpreter that helps communicating more complex questions. We were left with a very warm impression of the place and the people running it.

きれいな景色とお風呂 遊覧船乗場や瑞巌寺などにも近い

完全的日式文化體驗，飯店人員非常親切，服務頂級。第一晚我們比一般接駁時間遲到約十分鐘，到了幾乎沒有人的車站，打電話請飯店看是否還是可以來接我們，幾乎沒有請託就來接我們。住的房間面對的就是松島海岸，晚上穿著飯店提供的浴衣，吃著懷石料理，看著海邊的景色，再去溫泉泡個湯，真是完美的一次體驗。隔天早上可以在飯店附近的地方走走，看著景色，真是舒服愜意。下次下雪的時候，我一定還要再帶著家人前往。

Breakfast was accommodating. I don't like cold food so when I refused the fish, they suggested I try the omelettes instead which I enjoyed, made by the chef. Very comfortable facilities. Open air footbath is lovely. Onsen was good. They have a icy lemon sherbet machine in the lobby.

Very traditional Japanese hotel in lovely location. The staff were super accommodating and efficient.

The rooms could do with some updating, very retro.

Exceptional room, facilities, staff and service. It’s a slow town, and it is great for travellers to come unwind. At a glance, the cost may be on the high end, but given that it’s half-board (fantastic meals by the way) and onsen is available, I think it’s worth it. The hotel is located on a hill, so it might be slightly difficult to carry/drag hefty luggage up, but it is doable. Alternatively, the hotel can arrange for a pickup at the train station if you call them (after 2pm if I recall correctly…)

Unfortunately the open air onsen was very small and didnt have a great view. The indoor one did have big open glass window that had better views.

Sensational location with view of Matsushima Bay. Classic Japanese luxury accommodation, public bath with fantastic view, nice lounge with little terrace and foot bath. We had to cancel very short term because of car trouble and they refunded us in full! Very much appreciated.

The best thing about the Komatsu-kan Kofu-tei is the location. The view is breathtaking. Overall, this is an authentic Japanese Ryokan and the whole experience was very beautifully Japanese. The food was very traditional, as was the service and the rooms. We loved the onsen.

Everything was perfect. There was nothing we didn't like.

An older style hotel offering fabulous traditional service from every staff member. There seemed to be almost one staff for every guest. We opted for the breakfast and dinner options. The many courses involved with each meal were all beautifully prepared, presented and served. Our room on 4th floor offered the most magnificent view over the bay and pine covered small islands.

Not a thing, although at our age a futon on the floor is a challenge and a giggle.

Wonderfully attentive staff, smooth check-in. The view from the room was like a framed picture of Matsushima Bay. Two public onsens in-house (and private ones that can be hired) with exceptional views - you definitely need to experience the sunrise from the onsen. Breathtaking. Package came with dinner and breakfast - Japanese course came with so many dishes, you'll always leave full. Pricey but absolutely worth every bit.

Can't fault anything. Staff English is limited but they try their best, there are translations for all the important bits and everything worked out with a bit of passion communication.

Die Japanese lounge wear war ziemlich stinkig. Der Esssaal war furbar nüchtern mit sehr ungemütlichem Licht.

30年くらい前から毎年おとずれていましたが、子供達が自律したことと父が病気になってからは行けずにいました。父は8年前に他界したので最後に行ったのは15年前のことになります。今回子供達の予定があい行くことができ懐かしい思い出とともに楽しむことができました。お世話になり、ありがとうございました。

The breakfast is a high example of fine Japanese cuisine. It may be difficult to enjoy for some western palates; the flavours and textures are unusual to us. But it is made with care and attention. The outdoor onsen has wonderful views, as does the private onsen. The whole hotel has old-world charm.
