Onsen and the wonderful staff—very accommodating
Lack of restaurants nearby but not their fault—just an isolated area
The breakfasts and dinners were exceptional! 16-20 dishes were the norm. The entire hotel was spotless and very tastefully decorated. The staff was attentive to every detail and need.

The food was amazing and the Onsen was great
Nicely designed room, beautiful private and public onsen with amazing view over the mountains (and love the cable car going up there), delicious breakfast and dinner in beautiful dining room, very friendly staff (especially Hayato who made our meals even more memorable).
The lobby, hallway carpet, and lounge (wine room) feel outdated and not as welcoming as the dining room and bed rooms. If they’d be redesigned/updated it would make the hotel feel so much more luxurious.
The food and the view are phenomenal
The outdoor onsen was fabulous
Nothing
Onsen was stunning.
Dinner was good, but we didn’t enjoy the breakfast and there was nowhere to take a walk form the hotel. Good for one night, but other than a hike one hour away, there was nothing to do nearby.
Convenient location, excellent food, exceptional staff. Great onsen.
Extra charge for mixed onsen.
Family room and dinner - real japanese style. Outdoor onsen amazing!
This hotel is perfectly placed in the Iya Valley and we enjoyed our spacious room and the outside onsen, along with the delicious dinner and breakfast. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The free evening bus drive to the vine bridge and waterfall in the retro bus was fun.
nothing to improve
This ryokan matches the movie image of a place where the staff pay attention to every need, every detail, and do everything in a super-polite way, down to the attendant at the front waving goodbye to you as you leave, until the hotel is lost from sight. It is the best ryokan I have ever stayed in during 4 trips to Japan. The room we had was excellent, roomy, with both meds and futons, and a massage chair we became addicted to. Everything was modern and worked well. Super clean.
The onsen is advertised as coming from a real hot water sulfur spring. It didn;t feel like it. It felt and smelled like regular, very hot, water. Maybe I am wrong, but we also stayed at another site nearby, and that one very definitely felt like a sulfur spring. Totally different. This is the only way in which our experience fell short.
A perfect place to stay and indulge with the Japanese hospitality. The Japanese style room with sauna was top notch.. big and comfortable. The dinner was beyond words.. perfection. The outdoor onsen was amazing and unique with the cablecar going up to it and the spectacular views all around.
The only thing I didn’t like was the breakfast.. needs to be options for western travelers as we are less accustomed to the Japanese style breakfast options.
All was exallent, Your hotel is Out of the ordinary.
.The only place that doesn't match the amazing treat we experienced is the seating area and the coffee needs improvement. I would have expected both better coffee and a more pleasant atmosphere in this corner.
Very comfortable, hot spring really nice

Onsen privatif exceptionnel.
Great traditional Hotel.
Super friendly staff, perfect hospitality, many add ons like bus tour at night
Everything perfect. Great Onsen too

The outdoor Onsen. The food was delicious
Outdoor onsen accessed by cable car. Staff is professional and personal. You can feel the passion in everything they do. We felt well cared and pampered. The night time bus tour to the rope bridge was so special.
None.
Wonderful experience from the moment we entered the hotel until sadly we had to leave. The great care and attention of all the staff was exceptional. The food was outstanding and a highlight of the stay. We particularly appreciated the efforts of the owner who was so kind and welcoming and appeared at dinner each evening to sing us a local folk song. Chen on reception was particularly helpful and even came with us to the bus stop (opposite the hotel) to wave us goodbye. The onsens were all fantastic, especially the private hilltop one which is worth paying the extra for if couples or a family would like an hour outdoors in the most beautiful surroundings. We enjoyed a walk to the nearest village and saw the impressive vine bridge both by day and night. If you’re looking for relaxation and tranquillity away from everything then it’s an ideal area in Shikoku and. A really special hotel
Attentive staff, excellent open-air onsens, clean rooms and facilities. We were lucky to get “Tenjin” room with private open air onsen and we cant be more happy. It was perfect size for couple, with onsen in backyard with stunning views. Ryokan meals were a bit to much for my wife so we sometimes skip dinner because of it, but everything were delicious and prepared with care and attention to allergies.
A bit far away from public transport so you need a car for convenience
All the staff including front desk, concierge, driver, restaurant are very polite and professional. They went out of their way to make our stay comfortable and memorable. The complimentary night tour was a pleasant surprise. The owner of the hotel was very hospitable going from table to table during dinner to chat with the guests and also not forgetting the lovely song she sang for us. The outdoor onsen was very unique as we had to take a cable car to the onsen which also had beautiful scenery enhanced by the sakura season. The location is abit far but the bus stops right in front of the hotel and the staff was outside to receive the guests and help with luggage as soon as the bus arrived. We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 night stay.

La situation du onsen

Magical place - great traditional ryokan with a wonderful onsen and creative kaiseki dinners
The food at this ryokan was phenomenal, even just the service for dinner and breakfast was great and easy for both foreigners and locals to appreciate. The room itself was quite comfortable and provided good amenities as well as a great view of the countryside and mountains. By far, the best experience were the onsen, especially the private onsen. Taking the lift up and being greeted by a beautiful view as well as great facilities made the experience magical and would highly recommend anyone traveling with a partner to reserve the private onsen.
There was nothing about this location that was unsatisfactory, it was genuinely one of the best experience I have ever had with any kind of accommodations. Can not think of a single thing I would have changed about the experience.
Every thing seemed new and perfect.
- great outdoor Onsen - excellent customer service and staff - good breakfast and dinner arrangements

The dinner was the best meal we had during our trip. The hotel was very accommodating and prepared us a vegetarian meal. The rotenburo (outdoor bath) was phenomenal, with a beautiful view of the mountains. Our room was simple, but very comfortable.
This is truly a perfect Japanese hotel. They do everything right, down to the last detail. Amazing staff, really great food, super comfortable quiet room, the owner even sang for everyone at dinner! They tried very hard to make sure dinner was to our liking before we even arrived. I worked 15 years at a 5 Diamond hotel in Hawaii, Hotel Kazurabashi surely rates 5 Diamonds! The outdoor onsen and the night historic bus tour are not to be missed.
Perfect, don’t change anything.

The room is big and comfortable with good facilities. The hot water and cold water are ready for the guests to drink. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly that made you feel comfortable. The special outdoor onsen is linked by the hotel private cable car. You can look at the view of the surrounding mountains. The food is tasty 🤤

Hotel ask us in advance about food allergies and provided as requested. Every staff were friendly and helpful. Both breakfast and dinner were prepared using local ingredients which were delicious.
Would be nice if there is shower indoor in the room.
