What a fantastic place to chill, relax and forget about the real world. The staff, the ultra, ultra dog friendly approach (I mean ultra friendly too) is just so refreshing. At the same time its not overun with four legged friends so this should not put you off if you dont have a dog. Dog owners were very respectful of the hotel too...and the hotel provides towels etc. Lovely rooms, views and food. Sooo relaxing. Ravenstone Manor really is a very special place...everyone we spoke to during our stay sung the praises of the hotel and the team. Plenty of walks around the woods and up into the hills. A really very special place to visit and stay. A real home from home.
Nothing at all...but be aware car park is a little awkward.....but not an issue.
Staff friendly. Lovely location. Food very good
The mattress and pillows too soft
Personnel accueillant et réactif, bon petit-déjeuner et cadre agréable.
Chambre vieillissante et mal équipée, salle de bain peu pratique, petit lit et équipements dépassés.
So welcoming and truly dog friendly Even warm water to wash them off!
The breakfast was really good and great selection. the poached eggs were done to perfection. I loved the decor. The staff were great visited the sister hotel across the road and sat on the terrace, we were really lucky with the weather and the views were amazing. The stable block was stunning. They staff were really attentive and great with my fathers dog gave her water and treats.
Perhaps convert some of the rooms make them more accessible for people with mobility issues, a mat in the show and a grab handle. My father is in his mid 80's couldn't use the shower during his stay. My single room which was lovely but was the same price as a double room and no view to speak of. The evening meal were really good apart from my desert the Affogato was served with cold coffee instead of hot coffee. My father salmon for his evening meal was nicely cooked but was bland.
Homely from the minute you arrive
Lovely hotel, great location and friendly staff. The food in the restaurant was also exceptional.
The parking was limited and very tight. There were also quite a few cobwebs in the room, which made me question the cleanliness.
Staff were very welcoming upon arrival and the building itself is stunning! The bar area, and snug and dining areas are all clean and decorating beautifully. Our room was clean and very comfortable! Very little noise and we slept very well. Breakfast was tasty and there were several options to choose from, outside there was adequate parking on site and a lovely outdoor seating area to enjoy!
There was nothing negative to say about the property!
Location was perfect. Staff really friendly. Food and drink amazing.
The bathroom floor hadn't been cleaned properly (hair grip and hair on the floor). There were cobwebs hanging from the ceiling. That didnt stop us from having an excellent stay though.
Excellent hotel where people and dogs are made very welcome very clean presentable property friendly staff Excellent evening menu with freshly prepared food cooked to perfection would highly recommended this hotel
The room was comfortable and clean. The breakfast was very good, as were the evening meals. The rooms are dog friendly so you may suffer barking coming from some of the rooms, but it did not bother us. The parking can be difficult as many come here for lunches and dinner. The Victorian house has a lot of charactor and atmosphere which made it for us and the location near the lake for walking is excellent.
Difficult to fault, apart from it being constantly busy, but that is due to it being so good.
Lovely atmosphere,very welcoming.
Very kind staff. Lovely place
The room was lovely, with a great view! The bed was very comfortable. The breakfasts were great, with a good choice. The evening meals too! And enjoyed sitting out on the terrace. All the staff were so helpful & friendly. I had a very relaxing & happy stay.
I cannot think of anything!!!
Great overall location for exploring by car
Parking a little hard at times. Bed we stayed in was slightly uncomfortable
The food was exceptional!! The staff were super friendly, and a great range of whiskies on hand. Breakfast and dinners were amazing. I could not recommend this smashing little gem of a find enough. For those looking for a hike or walk when there, you are 2 minutes from getting to a trail for the local mountain range.
I cannot find fault with any part of the hotel or our stay. The price paid was well worth the money. Food, beers, whiskies, and accommodation was all well worth it.
Great breakfast staff very friendly and helpful. Great location, view only spoilt by weather. Very characterful hotel, enjoyed our brief stay.
No space in car park but resolved kindly by staff at restaurant over the road. Very difficult with no outside light in darkness to park. Shower in room 21 does not work. Facilities for drying hair poor due to mirror position high on wall. Dressing table mirror would have been ideal.
Good location. Characterful building. Helpful staff. Room adequately equipped. Pleasant mixing with residents with dogs.
Bedroom was located over kitchen, the drone of their extractor fan was distracting. Some additional background noise too. Toilet facilities were tired. Food overpriced. Our second visit to this hotel, things weren't as relaxed...felt like cutbacks were arising.
We stayed at the Ravenstone with our 2 grandsons We ate at lunch time and in the evening and all meals were delicious The staff were very attentive as always (we have stayed many times)
All good, no negatives
Great location fabulous views
Don’t mind dogs in the hotel but not in the restaurant and sat on chairs on the lounge.
The breakfast/dining room was really nice. Attentive, professional and friendly staff. A first class vegetarian menu with an excellent meal therefrom. Breakfast also very good. Plenty of lounge seating areas. Parking area was adequate.
Lighting in the bedroom was poor. My wife and I are avid readers and so we carry head torches to use in such places. Bathroom was clean and adequate. However the step-in bath shower had no anti-slip mat and no grab handles. To be honest I struggled to get out of the bath. The poor lighting and shower problems were pointed out to management when we left.
Lovely location and our room was nice and clean, the food was also very good and would recommend. The staff were also very friendly and helpful
Excelkent location very quiet . Food waa amazing and the staff very helpful and friendly.
A quick stop for us on the way to Scotland. Very welcoming and friendly staff. Clean hotel. Great dinner menu. Lovely location with walks on the doorstep for the dog.
Nothing to dislike
Such a lovely manor with beautiful views. The rooms were all so clean, organized and tidy. The meals were amazing. Staff were so warm, friendly and kind. Shout out to Vlad and Monica
Breakfast very good with a good choice of hot and cold food. Room very good with tea/coffee. Had a separate bath and shower. Very dog friendly. Dogs allowed everywhere.ǰN
No complaints.
Relaxed friendly great food
Car parking a little tight but ok
Beautiful setting, fantastic team running things there, very helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. Beautiful food, all in all a lovely 3 days.
Not used to a ordinary double bed, should have booked a better room. Lesson learnt. But we will return.
Position excellent Lovely period hotel Comfortable single room
Road access
Everything was absolutely awesome. The only thing I would suggest is giving the room a little more character, perhaps with a few hooks for towels and a couple of small touches. Other than that, everything was perfect!
Always stay here when in the lakes, great dog friendly pub with good food and friendly service

Stunning Location
Water pressure in the shower and the parking would be my only complaints. All minor however. Lovely place to stay.
Staff are brilliant and can’t do enough for you
Bed was a double so a little small and bathroom was tiny
Beautiful location the food was amazing and the staff were so friendly
Nothing
Everything, the room was clean, the food was amazing and the location is picturesque. There was even a fan in my room to help cool in these hot conditions.
It’s a little bit nit picky, but parts of the car park was gravel and being on a motorbike it’s not ideal but the rest of the hotel more than made up for a very minor problem
Mooie kamer met uitzicht op de bergen. Hond vriendelijk. Lekker eten.
Nice location, beautiful old house
Rooms were a bit dated, TV offered no streaming services, WIFI was weak, shower didn’t work, light switches hidden behind beds and breakfast small and of average quality. With a little bit of effort the place could actually be turned into a real gem, right now it’s just a little bit overpriced for what you get in return.
Location was brilliant for the Skiddaw trail. Facilities and staff were superb. Can recommend the restaurant.
Nothing - all good.
Lots of different areas to relax..
I Love dogs but the hotel had a lot of dogs staying.. more of a 'dog hotel'.. It was my husbands 60th birthday and I upgraded the room, however, the view we could see was the roof.. not what I expected for an upgrade/special birthday.
Beautiful hotel, outstanding food! Staff were lovely and helpful.
Great location. Stunning period hotel. Very relaxing
Decent sized room, lots of storage, staff were lovely, breakfast was great! Very peaceful and all other visitors were friendly too. We were the youngest visitors by a significant amount which made for a lovely stay as a young couple who didn’t want to get involved in the summer holiday rush!
We didn’t love the bed, parking was a bit tricky at times.
Emplacement, accueil, très bon restaurant

Everything about the hotel was impressive, wonderful service , and position of hotel outstanding 👌

Food was delicious. Staff were exceptional. Lovely comfortable hotel b
Nothing
Outstanding view from room 10, picture perfect. Great breakfast with good choice. .
The only downside is the parking. There are not enough spaces during high season and dining guests visiting. Nailed on 10 out of 10 if the parking was better.
Booked as a last minute getaway. Beautiful building with a fantastic view. Inside is tastefully decorated and has a welcoming atmosphere. Great outdoor seating area to enjoy a drink. Staff are very accommodating- allowing us to dine earlier and sit wherever we pleased. The food was delicious. Rooms are cosy and comfortable. Parking is free.
It was very relaxed and laid back, very homely. I was on my own with my dog and was able to take her to all parts of the hotel which made things very easy. There was a dog bath and towels provided. The staff were all really friendly and helpful. The whole place was just really chilled. It was a half hour walk to Bassenthwaite lake and about 10 mins drive into Keswick centre. The food at breakfast and dinner was exceptional.
Nothing really. The only thing was I was in a single room and it was very small with no view really. Being on my own I would have liked a few, I didn’t try to book a double but maybe it was full. I would definitely book a double room next time.
Everything.
Wonderful, attentive and friendly staff. Quality furnishings in the room and throughout the hotel. Food was superb at breàkfast and dinner. Some of the best I’ve tasted.
No fridge in the room, coudnt keep drinks cool especially so in the very hot weather. Views from bedroom were disappointing.
Very nice historic building. Friendly staff. Our room was large, comfortable and clean. Breakfast and dinner was very good. Beautiful area to explore. We liked hikes they recommended
parking was a little tight, but we didn't have an issue. other then that no complaints
I thought the staff were lovely.
The room was very tired and not particularly clean. There was actually a dog biscuit on the floor when we walked in. No hot water in the evening or the morning and the hotel had a bad smell of fat from the kitchen.
Dogs made very welcome
More windows in room
Fantastic old building. Great staff and facilities.
My mistake, I thought it was in walking distance to Keswick.
Warm and welcoming. Beautiful decor.
Everything was PERFECT
Very dog friendly, extremely nice and helpful staff.
Housekeeping could be improved. The attic room we stayed in needs airco, or at least some external shutters, as it heats up a lot during the day.
Peaceful and relaxing. Fabulous breakfast
Nothing
Full English was very filling , our meal at night was also very good
All good
Very good breakfast, great location, friendly staff and the rooms were very comfortable.
The views were stunning!
Cleanliness could have been better but it is a dog friendly hotel so I guess that comes into consideration
Really relaxed and dog friendly. Great location to access the North Lakes. Food was of a really good standard
Parking can be a challenge as not easy to get a spot when busy
Great views, staff were attentive, food was delicious and beds were so comfortable. Nothing else to add
Nice location and restaurant
Fact that you need to hang a sign on door to get your room cleaned
Cozy and warm ambiance
All good
Lovely atmosphere and lots of places to sit and relax. Amazing views from around the house and grounds.
All good
Bathroom
Everything The staff and food was amazing Special thank you to Sophie for making our stay extra special
Nothing
It is such a welcoming, relaxing and warm space, the staff are incredibly friendly and accommodating and it is so well set up for families or couples with dogs and/or those looking for scenic walks.
The only thing to bear in mind is that each room has its own character sizing and setup, we stayed twice and each time had a different room, both rooms were different sizes with different setups as classic double rooms. We enjoyed our stay both times and had no complaints about either rooms but the second time we took our dog with us and the room we got was slightly smaller than the room we had the first time. The way around this is to phone the property and ask about rooms, we didn’t do this but I have no doubt that if we had the staff would’ve been able to help.
VERY Dog friendly
The smell from the kitchen did travel a bit
Fantastic location, truly amazing food, gem of a hotel
Nothing. All great.
Stayed here numerous times before and it never fails to impress, perfect place for us and our dog.
Engaging and attentive staff and reasonable facilities.
Strong smell of frying food throughout the hotel unfortunately.
Lovely stay Ravenstone Manor, staff were excellent, we had evening meal and breakfast on our stay and it was excellent. We always travel with our dog and it was extremely dog friendly (best dog friendly hotel we have been to and we have been to a few)

Beautiful location, lovely food
Bed in room was smaller than advertised. Stayed 2 nights, the room wasn’t cleaned or towels changed tea/ coffee replaced etc.
Old worldly charm
Nothing to dislike
Staff, Staff, Staff. Absolutely lovely every one of them. Location spectacular. Building was amazing. Breakfast beautifully cooked. So dog friendly it was unbelievable. Our room was lovely although it was mid major heatwave, everywhere was hot but the room was very nicely decorated spotlessly clean, and just because we were with our little dog it didn’t mean we felt like we had been put in one of the second rate rooms, which is often the case when you travel with a dog this was super. We are already planning our next trip. Possibly when it’s a bit cooler. ( Typical British… never happy 😆) But back to the place just can’t speak highly enough.
Nothing
Everything was good.
Nothing.
Very good staff
Lots of traffic noise
Nothink not 2 like, brilliant stay will be going bk 👍

Lovely big room. Nice view. Comfy bed. Great food
Most of the staff really friendly a couple not so much
Fantastic location, room very clean and comfortable, very helpful, friendly staff
Nothing
Fabulous time. Well looked after. Will be staying again
Only disappointing aspect was garlic roll
Lovely building and location
Occasional smells wafting up from kitchen which were a little strong at times
The position, lovely views and friendly staff
Our room was booked late so no choice of rooms. Our room was very small, shower was weak over bath with no bath mat. Very slippy.
It feels like home. It’s so warm and comforting. The staff are beyond friendly and genuinely want you and your pet there.
Not really anything to add. Our room was a bit small but we picked the smallest room so that was on us. Perhaps if I was to be very picky, the shower wasn’t that powerful.
There are lovely bar / lounge areas
Nothing
The manor was in a very romantic setting with comfortable cosy places to hang out and read or play games in the lounge or the bar. We loved the relaxed country house atmosphere, and the food was amazing, and the different hikes around the countryside ranged from easy to quite challenging
We loved everything but the rain was a bit annoying
Clean, homely and very comfortable. Great bar and sofas to relax on. Delicious food. Stayed one night but it was really enjoyable
Car park a bit crowded but we found a space. Little bit of road noise.
The staff were friendly and very attentive to our needs. The food in the dinning room, both evening meals and breakfast were of excellent quality and very tasty. The location was great for Keswick and surrounding villages such as Braithwaite and Thornthwaite etc.
The en-suite was very tight/cramped but tidy and clean. Without being a killjoy, some people are a little uncomfortable being around dogs and there were too many dogs present in the dinning room when we were eating. Maybe this needs to be reviewed.
Staff brilliant. Exceptionally dog friendly. Food excellent.
Lots of stairs and shower could have been more accessible.
I only stayed one night but the staff were super friendly and had a very comfortable lounge area. Nice atmosphere and very quiet through the night. Breakfast was superb... Would definitely recommend and would definitely return !
Friendly
Elegant
Location
Room we stopped in had no view roof one side scaffolding other random thumping probably from some kind of heating system
All of it
Parking was a little tricky (I'm a bad parker)
Lovely place
Nothing it was all good
