Lyzzick

Lyzzick Hotel has been re-furbished since our last visit several years ago. The re-furb is tasteful and appropriate for the style of the Hotel. The food is excellent, local produce is used to create interesting dishes. We had a side view room (mountains could be seen from the bay window) with a large comfortable bed. Very peaceful, no traffic noise. There is no lift, due to the design on several floors, however the staff are very helpful carrying luggage.

Staff were friendly and informative and showed us to our room. Room was clean, comfortable and had a great view over the countryside - looks to have been renovated recently. Very peaceful and quiet location. Hotel includes games room, bar and restaurant. You also get free entry to a nearby spa by staying here. Best butterscotch pudding on the menu!

An amazing hotel , just on the outskirts of Keswick. The staff were super friendly and helpful as soon as we arrived. Food was amazing in”The Covey” restaurant, highly recommendable. We’ll be back.

Wo sollen wir anfangen? Das Lyzzick liegt etwas ausserhalb von Keswick auf einer Anhöhe umgeben von Wiesen und Wald. Der gepflegte Garten lädt zum Verweilen ein. Unser Zimmer/Bad waren sehr sauber und in bestem Zustand. Frühstück und Dinner waren vorzüglich. Leckere vegetarische Speisen finden sich genauso wie Menüs mit Fleisch auf der Karte. Das Personal erlebten wir sehr freundlich, locker und trotzdem respektvoll. Für uns stimmte alles.

Die Zeit im Lyzzick ging zu schnell vorüber.

Best view in the country, unbelievable outside space. Breakfast was stunning, staff were amazing, would highly recommend! Really clean and really enjoyed the bar space looking out onto the mountains.

Slightly dated rooms, but after speaking to the manager, we heard they are due to start renovations shortly. Couldn't fault the place either way it was immaculate and very clean.

No lifts. Small TV in rooms . Sheets not changed over the 4 days that we stayed, chip on cup in room. Shower awkward to use. Not ideal for elderly and disabled people.

Breakfast just OK. Room was great. Food Generally not to our liking & very expensive.

Prices for food & drink. Prefer DBB Rate. After paying over £200/night for room a further £60 to £70 / night for dinner not acceptable.

The view was amazing! Loved the large windows which afforded a great view. I also liked the upper covered seating area which had even more wonderful views. Our meals (breakfast and dinner, both in the restaurant and bar) were of a very good quality. What stood out for me was the service, friendly and professional at the same time. The whole hotel had a superb "ambience"! We will definitely return,

A beautiful old property that has been tastefully renovated to a high standard. The staff are welcoming and friendly - nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are clean and comfortable with very comfy beds. The breakfasts are excellent. We have stayed three times now and are returning very soon !

Well located for Keswick and surrounding areas, great views from hotel. Staff, food and drink were excellent throughout.

Bed mattress and pillows were not comfortable. WiFi was a bit hit and miss.

Tastefully renovated property a short drive from Keswick. Beautiful garden. Our favourite was the bar area with beautiful decor and lovely views towards the peaks. All food was excellent. The home baked cookies were a lovely touch and so delicious.

We stayed for breakfast and dinner and both meals where delicious. The service we had was very attentive and professisonal. The view from the superior room we had was excellent. The other rooms the view wasnt quite as good

The staff were amazing, the place is situated perfectly, and has all the comforts for a great stay in the Fells.

Our room was really small and we changed after the first night.

Its location in the Lakes with amazing views. Ground floor reception rooms were beautiful and so was the garden and grounds. Friendly staff particularly housekeeping and chap who served breakfast.

Although beds and room were clean and comfortable it look a little dated compared to others we saw in the hotel. Picture hooks on wall but no pictures! Coffee at breakfast was awful which was a shame as the breakfast was good.

The food and drink at Lyzzick is incredible! The communal areas, bar and restaurant are decorated and furnished beautiful! You feel like you are at soho house! The staff are all friendly and look like they genuinely love their jobs and interactions with guests.

The rooms’ standard did not match the rest of the hotel. Our room required some tlc, and the bed was very uncomfortable… but it looks like they haven’t been refurbished yet. They have added little touches that look promising for the future. If the Rooms are refurbished, this hotel will be 10/10.

We visited Lyzzick on our way to Scotland from London and it was an amazing stop.

Peaceful location not far from Keswick. Hotel was well appointed and the downstairs rooms showed how the whole hotel will eventually be designed and furnished. Large gardens with a beautiful view. Ample parking.

We verbleven hier 1 nachtje. Het hotel ligt net buiten Keswick tegen een helling aan. Prachtig uitzicht! Het is een karakteristiek gebouw met een mooie tuin met daarin veel vogels. Personeel was geweldig, heel behulpzaam en vriendelijk. We hebben in het restaurant gegeten en dit was zeer goed. Ook het ontbijt was prima in orde. De kamer was niet heel groot maar comfortabel. Er stond een grote fles met water met een paar glazen. Het bed was uitstekend. In de badkamer was een bad waar we gebruik van hebben gemaakt. Grote flessen met heerlijke shampoo, conditioner en body wash waren aanwezig. Je kunt in de buurt ook prima wandelen. Een stukje verderop is Dodds Wood waar je uit een paar trails kunt kiezen.

Alles was prima. Misschien een dingetje is dat er wat weinig stopcontacten op de kamer waren.

Breakfast and dinner did not have enough choice or variety, breakfast no cereal or fruit, dinner not to our taste.

Perfect liebevoll geführtes Hotel im Lake District + zauberhaft mit Terrasse + vielen Sitzgelegenheiten drinnen und draußen + supersauber + Zimmer perfekt mit allem was man braucht ++ Frühstück war so so lecker + ebenso das Abendessen ++ dieses Hotel kann ich nur weiterempfehlen!!!

The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful — nothing was too much trouble and they made us feel genuinely welcome. The food was outstanding; I had the lamb which was cooked beautifully, and my husband’s pork tomahawk was equally impressive. Our deluxe room was spacious, spotless and stylish, with high‑quality toiletries and everything we needed. The views were breathtaking — breakfast overlooking the hills was such a treat. And the homemade cookie… absolutely sumptuous. Overall: A wonderful hotel that gets everything right. Keep doing what you’re doing — we would definitely come back

We stayed the night here & had a fabulous time. The staff are fantastic- it was lovely to be somewhere with such a genuinely happy aura about the place. The room was lovely, views were great. The food here was unbelievable! We had the Pork Tomahawk & the Beef Rump, both were excellent, followed by strawberry cheesecake & the raspberry and lemon pavlova. Breakfast was also excellent.

If I had to make a very small comment it would be that the downstairs public areas are newly refurbished but our bedroom felt a bit dated. Very clean and decorated well though.

Great location, very clean inside all areas of the hotel and the room was spotless too.

The only thing that ruined it a little was the heat. We were in a top floor room and it was uncomfortably hot even with fan. A portable AC unit might be a good idea for those rooms in the hot weather.

This is a beautiful well run hotel in a beautiful location. The dinner we had was food that had a lot of thought put into it and hence it was superb. The staff could not have been more helpful and it was service with a wonderful smile

The location, the views are fantastic. Large spacious room, spotlessly clean. Excellent service from welcoming and friendly staff. Delicious food. Lots of free parking. Walking from the hotel, it's a couple of miles to the edge of Keswick on foot.

A little more cereal choice for breakfast would have been nice but what was available was delicious.

Breakfast was amazing and those views!!! Waking up to the stillness of the Lake District was sooo lovely! The room was very comfortable, and so was the bed.

Another top quality stay at Lyzzick Hotel. Lovely setting and clean and comfortable accommodation. We've stayed before and will be back again soon. Made to feel really at home and the place just has a really nice chilled out feel about it. Our veggie Sunday roast was amazingly good. All in all difficult to fault.

The suite we booked was lovely, having a fan was a nice touch as the weather was very warm, but, water was provided but also warm….could do with a small fridge.

Perfect location for lots of lovely hikes, beautiful views from the garden and restaurants. All the food was absolutely fantastic.

Note some of the rooms are still being refurbished, so not yet as stunning as downstairs, but still perfectly lovely.

Great stay for those travelling with their own car. Beautiful house, excellent landscaping, well maintained rooms, and a good restaurant. Very filmy location and views. Quick and scenic drives towards all the internet-suggested sights of the Lake District. Everything was clean and set well.

There is almost no ventilation in the rooms, a window opens up about 20cm only. So unless it’s less than 22°, it’s not advised to travel here- especially if you’re accustomed to A/C. The service hours are limited, and the restaurant food is good not great.

Stunning location with mountain views.

Superb all round. Smart and classy without being stuffy. Great vibe with excellent staff. Views from bar, terrace and restaurant cannot be beaten. Breakfast is excellent with lots of choice and flexibility to meet everyone's needs. Dinner is very good. Locally sourced ingredients and imaginative dishes. Best chicken kebab I've had this side of the Middle East! Service is relaxed but efficient. Games room and snug for wet days or after dinner is very nice. Staff are local and have lots of advice on walks, visits etc.

Tolles nicht zu großes Hotel in herrlicher Landschaft mit großem Zimmer, gemütlichen Sitzecken an der Bar mit Blick in die Berge. Gutes Frühstück und Abendessen. So stellt man sich ein typisches englisches Hotel vor.

The Lyzzick was in a beautiful setting away from the busyness of Keswick town. The hotel was well maintained and clean. The staff were lovely. We loved our stay and plan to return in the future.

De ligging was fantastisch, een prachtig uitzicht over het landschap. Een hele mooie sfeervolle kamer, we kregen een upgrade naar de suite en hier ontbrak het ons aan niets. Een prachtig uitzicht, heerlijke badkamer met bad en douche, een groot en comfortabel bed. Gezellige zithoek met koffie en thee faciliteiten. En iedere dag huisgemaakte versgebakken koekjes. Een zeer prettig ontvangst en iedereen van het team was vriendelijk en stond altijd voor ons klaar. Een fijne bar waar je ook een hapje kan eten en ook een heerlijk restaurant. Een fijn ontbijt, geen buffet maar keuze van de kaart. We hebben 100% genoten.

It was a really lovely place and for a leisurely break amazing - the staff went above and beyond to help me even giving me a lift into Keswick when I was stuck - felt very well looked after

It was a shame not to be able to get a hot shower - they did respond super fast when it broke down. Location wise it wasn’t quite right for me as without a car I couldn’t independently get back to it and taxis have a long wait times and buses infrequent - it would have been fine if I hadn’t had exact timings that I needed to be in Keswick for

Went for Sunday lunch and a nights stay. 1 of the Sunday lunch had a Beatle in the beef, staff responded well and nocked this off the bill.

We liked everything. Staff were all friendly and attentive. The location was stunning. The hotel itself was beautiful. The restaurant food was delicious. Our group had dietary needs (celiac) and these were catered for to perfection. Truly, their attention on this front was so greatly appreciated and just made our entire trip so beautiful and anxiety free. Will definitely be booking for more than one night next time! Thank you Lyzzick!
