Mercure Kota Kinabalu City Centre

My family got stuck in a elevator. The intercom doesn't work. The alarm doesn't work. Only the panic button in the elevator works which took the hotel management few minutes to respond. As the intercom doesn't work, we can hardly hear anything from the inside. We waved to the cctv to get noticed.

We had a comfortable stay at the Mercure Kota Kinabalu. Our room was a good size with a city view, but we could also see the ocean and islands, which was a nice bonus. There were building sites directly in front of us, but that's obviously nothing the hotel can control. The pool was lovely, with friendly bar staff at Compass, and the food on offer was really nice. The location was another positive, with Gaya Street Night Market and the waterfront both within easy reach.

The accommodation itself was comfortable but starting to look a little dated and could benefit from some updating. We also found the prices at the pool bar a little excessive for Malaysia.

Nearby mall and short walking distance to Gaya Night Market.

I have stayed here many times so I know what to expect here. The room was very good and very clean. Plenty of space. The ensuite was good and clean too. Breakfast was very good, lots of choice. Great place to stay

Easy to move around

Location that pick of grab or any cars it’s a dead end and the need to get back out is a hassle. Rooms are old, air condition is not as expected, had my room changed because of their electrical problem. The windows are not noise proof, lots of vehicle noises

Hotel położony przy porcie. Doskonała lokalizacja dla osób, które chcą zwiedzić pobliskie wyspy. Duży apartament za naprawdę dobrą cenę. Pyszne, różnorodne śniadania. Obsługa przemiła. Do tego stopnia iż specjalnie dla nas upieczono rodzinną porcję ciasta na śniadanie, które skończyło się na stole. Hotel nie jest nowy ale bardzo go polecam ze względu na lokalizację, obsługę i pyszne śniadania

La piscine sur le toit avec vue sur la mer et sur la ville. Les chambres avec vue sur la mer. La localisation est idéale : juste à coté de Jesselton Quay pour partir vers les îles, en face du mall Suria Sabah, au pied du Signal Hill observatory et à 100m du quartier Jalan Gaya. Bref, tous les lieux intéressants de KK directement accessibles à pieds. J’avais pris un autre hôtel un peu moins cher lors de notre premier passage à Kota Kinabalu mais à refaire, je mettrais la différence de prix. Ne serait-ce que pour la piscine, la vue et la localisation.

Locatie dicht bij Jesselton Pier. En tevens op loopafstand (20 min) naar de markten en restaurants bij Waterfront. Wij hadden 3-kamer appartement met veel ruimte (en 3 badkamers). Ontbijtbwas prima, maar iets meer fruit zou het helemaal af maken.

Very comfortable and good value. Clean and spacious 2 bedroom apartment which was perfect for a family. Close by to boats to visit the islands

The bathroom/shower area is unusual. Toilet has an opening at the top straight into the room and a glass door 😳. The shower area also has a glass door - both have patterns on them. But are still see through. There’s no area outside the shower to dress. Very unusual even if you’re with your partner I’d find it strange. We’re on a girls trip and there’s no private area to dress or undress.

The staff were awesome. Very helpful and pleasant. We stayed here before and after an overnight climb up mt Kinabalu and were allowed to store our luggage at the hotel which was really helpful. Beds were comfortable even though the building and rooms were a little dated. The hotel itself is just on the edge of the main town but still have lots of shops nearby and even a coin laundrette just around the corner.

Didn’t like the frosted bathroom and toilet glass doors and walls. Some of us are not couples and would appreciate more privacy.

Unable to have access to the gym. Would need to go to the reception to ask for access first before going there. The room was okay but there was a power outage during the stay and there were guests stuck in the elevator

The staff were very friendly and helpful. Warm welcome by them when we check in and prompt reply whatever questions were asked. The front desk to F&B was very kind and excellent service. The room was quite big and clean, only the shower holder was not working properly. Other than that all is good including housekeepers.

As i mentioned the shower holder is faulty. Food can be improved a bit.

ロケーションもよく、屋上のプールも朝食も快適でした。

シャワーのお湯がほとんど出なかった点　他の蛇口は問題無くお湯は出ます。

Toilet condition, the soap bottle dispenser faulty, shower's door without rubber stopper, floor wet water seeping out, toilet glass door is open on top, the smell goes into the room, wash hand basin draining slow.

Pretty decent breakfast and plenty to choose from. Easy to walk into Town and we loved the pool and it's Sunsets.

One minor gripe, someone had clipped their toenails in between pool and Cafe up top, still there 2 days later!!

Location was for us good because we had to take the boat the next day. breakfast quality was very poor.

Overall very disappointing old hotel with worn out rooms. Arrival was a bit messy and lobby was stinking. Also the restaurant was not good.

First night the Aircond malfunction . And was 11pm we asked for room upgrading but the staff just mentioned. U need to pay … and no choice we have to pack everything in the late night and move to other rooms. The facilities are quite old … toilet was too narrow the shower head holder was loosen already

Excellent location and a great value place to stay.

Great location, the staff were lovely, had a beautiful rooftop pool and was what we wanted for our stay, plus location was great.

Not sure if it was because it wasn't a busy time but they seemed to be out of alot of stock of things eg food and drink. But rooms were great, well serviced. Gym was very tired and obviously not used or serviced alot but at least they had one

Das Personal war sehr aufmerksam und freundlich. Frühstücksbuffet sehr gut und ausreichend. Zimmer sauber und gute Aufteilung. Lage war gut, in der Nähe des Schiffsablegers zu den Inseln. Der Pool im obersten Geschoss mit Blick auf das Wasser war super

Das Zimmer war zwar geschmackvoll eingerichtet, die vorhandene Couch aber hatte undefinierbare Flecken. Sehr störend haben wir empfunden, dass das einzige Fenster zu einem Häuserschacht ging, das nächste Gebäude war nur ein paar Meter entfernt, die Fenster auf gleicher Höhe. Selbst wenn man die Vorhänge öffnete, kam so gut wie kein Tageslicht herein, dafür hätte man einen ausgezeichneten Blick in die Räume des Nebengebäudes gehabt.

Stayed at a two bedroom apartment. The apartment was spacious, the rooms had enough space for our kids to run around. Shout out to Arman for assisting us with our late check out. Our youngest was only 6m old, and our flight was at night. He went over and beyond our expectations, granting us to check out at 5pm.

The smell of the sewage in the master toilet when we first entered, the smell went away after using the shower twice/thrice. Had bits of broken glass in the master toilet too. It was also inside the hotel slippers, which I didn't take photos of.

i really love the breakfast, esp the lady that cook the omelet. she very pretty. i love the TEA TARIK from the restaurant on 25 floor. But we are not happy because NO PARKING LOT FOR CUSTOMER.
