Perfect location for our stay, with the owners being very friendly and quick to respond to any queries. Our room was comfortable, clean and well presented. The breakfast was exceptionally good and definitely a highlight of our stay. Would happily recommend!

Host very welcoming . Room had all we needed. Bed very comfortable. Breakfast cooked to order; included omlettes/ pancakes/ eggs royal /eggs benedict. Delicious. Easy walk to restaurants & shops & park & beach. Parking available on street.

Can’t really comment as was staying in another apartment for a few days only booked this for 1 night but had to go back home on the day we was supposed to of stayed my brother had passed away .

The host was very pleasant. The whole experience was very warm and welcoming. The guest house was beautiful and clean. Our room was spacious, beds were comfortable. Breakfast was amazing.

Parking on the road, free. But, could be hit and miss. We didn’t have any problem though.

I had a lovely stay here. The room was beautifully furnished, spotlessly clean, and wonderfully quiet. The owner was genuinely friendly and welcoming, and I really appreciated being able to leave my luggage early- it was even carried up to my room when I came back which was a lovely surprise! A bonus touch was the cosy robes provided in the room. Breakfast was fantastic — fresh, generous, and a great start to the day. The location couldn’t be better, just a short walk to the beach and the local shops. Overall, a comfortable, peaceful stay with great hospitality. I would definitely go again.

I had a lovely stay with my dog for two nights .my room was very nice ,clean and well maintained. I had a full English breakfast and the pancakes the following morning and both were extremely well prepared and enjoyed.

Nothing great value for money and the owners were nice and polite as you would expect and anything you needed was dealt with asap.

The weather but can't blame Paul for that I suppose 🤔🤣. Also the uphill trek from the bottom road wasn't to my liking especially in torrential rain . But still a great place to stay.

Got there, was overbooked and no rooms. Blamed booking.com but obviously sold direct and forgot to remove availability from site. Caused a big panic and anxiety.

I was there for 9 days, visiting a friend and did some work in the room too. Nice and quiet, I forgot about breakfast so didn't have any. Room was good and comfy.

Broken shower in room but we were moved 2nd day. Beds are very small doubles. Owner has an adult son living there who is very rude to guests.

Double bed wasn’t the must comfortable, would recommend the owners upgrade to a new super king or king size bed.

Breakfast was fabulous. Everything was clean and the bed nice and comfortable. Was worried about parking but the street was relatively quiet and I had no issues.

The property was so homely, very clean and comfy

Breakfast was very good, the bed was ok, we are used to king size. The host was very welcoming.

The bed side lights were a bit dull, we both read so a bit awkward. We were on the 2nd floor so a bit difficult for my wife who has a disability, GNR weekend so lucky to get a room at all.

Peaceful, comfy and good location

No view but you are 2 mins from park and beach so still good for a base and to sleep!

We enjoyed the breakfast chats with Paul and the other hotel guests. The UNESCO world heritage site, Arbeia Roman fort is right around the corner. It was very informative and interesting. The explanations made me use all of my senses.

Well located for the high street in South Shields and for travelling into Newcastle with a very welcoming and helpful host. Great sized accommodation, very clean with good shower room, TV, WiFi, nice beds and well decorated. Easy enough to park for free nearby. Great value and highly recommended.

I stayed in a single room with an en-suite shower room. The room had a double bed and the room was larger than I expected. It was very comfortable and also had a fan as the weather was hot. The room came with a dressing gown and slippers and plenty of clothes hangers. The location is really good and the street is quiet so I slept well. There is also plenty of free parking outside. Paul was very friendly and helpful. His cooked breakfast was one of the best I have had. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.

I think the property was a georgian property 🤔🫠🙂 built in the 1900's. A couple from the south west moved up here nearly 10 years ago. I am very impressed!

The hilly streets of South Shields can be a put off for disabled people . If you have a car that's fine. On foot from the city centre can be overbearing...

It was a good accommodation, and the owner was very helpful. Near the sea, quiet, many places to dine.

The room was spacious and comfortable. The staff (Paul) was great and lovely to meet his granddaughter.

The shower was tight and the breakfast was just OK. I was expecting better.

Nice little room with everything needed for a short stay. Bed was really comfy. Location is great, just a couple of minutes walk from Ocean Road, but far enough out of town to be very quiet. Free parking on street was a bonus. Breakfast was plentiful and very nice, I had the obligatory full English and freshly brewed coffee. More than enough to soak up the previous day's excesses! Shower was maybe a little tight, but that's only because I'm 6ft+. For the price paid, nothing at all to grumble about.

Seagulls were noisy in early morning. Address difficult to find first time: one half of street appears to have a different name, both on street signs and on maps. Neither of these is the fault of the Kingsmere!

Comfortable and conveniently located

We stayed for 5 nights and wish we could have stayed longer. Sally and Paul were perfect hosts, friendly and chatty. The room was clean and well equipped. The location was great, not too far from the centre or the attractions but nice and quiet. Only had breakfast once but it was delicious. Everything was clean and we had all we needed. Definitely will be booking again when we can
