Excellent!
This was a lovely place to stay and we would go back. Our room was very clean and comfortable and provided everything we needed.
Corner balcony room overlooking the waterfront and docks was a treat. Very clean and comfortable. Cooling and heating worked well. Access to the building worked well, very secure to residents only. With limited restaurant hours (September) it is important to be stocked with a bit of food and can use the cafe across the road to stock up. There is a microwave in the lobby to heat up your own food. It's close to trails but not to shopping and amenities, it was perfect for us but be prepared before you go.
We love staying at the resort and will stay again. Highly recommend this option for anyone staying on Vancouver Island. We stayed here and drove into Tofino for the day. Very accessible and the views of the lake are beautiful. Love that there were paddle boards and kayaks available for use. The water was so clear.
Great little boutique hotel, location is remote but rooms are fabulous and lake front location is amazing.
Wonderful time. We went when there wasn’t much happening, so there wasn’t anything else open. Only one person working ( sorta a night staff thing ) where the next morning no one would be staffed so you drop off your keys ) Which was fine cause it was only a stay the night thing. Bit of drive to get. But it’s great for a longer stay, and during summer it’s probably way better for those looking for quite get away. Plus it’s pet friendly.
Nice little spot.
We arrived at 3.50pm and although the sign on the door said reception was manned between 2and 10pm the door was locked. I called the reception and she abruptly told me check in was at 4pm. Once we actually got to check in 10 minutes later she was very unfriendly! We then realised that the restaurant/bar was closed so we had to drive back 15km into town for food. Very disappointed and would not return.
Just paradise
Great place but a bit away from conveniences. However might be great in summer.
The room itself was great, wonderful view comfortable, spacious and clean. The front desk was staffed for very limited hours during the day, the hallway outside our room was like a sauna, the restaurant while looking nice the food was brutal - like really brutal, my pasta had as many pieces of purple onion as noodles and four prawns, my partners meal was even worse, the whole place had a vibe that the owner had lost interest in it, maybe abandoned it to staff who didn't care. Again the room itself was great, but there is nothing else around so you will be driving into Port Alberni to eat if you want to enjoy your meals.
I loved the lakeside setting and the morning of canoeing that was available to guests. It was very tidy and all around a beautiful place to stay.
Had a family emergency and couldn’t stay the night. The receptionist was extremely rude and insensitive. I didn’t even ask for a refund. I simply informed her I needed to check out as my wife had suffered a very serious injury and she just straight up told me I wouldn’t get a refund. Zero human decency. On top of that, when I checked in she met me with what felt like racial micoagressions. I gave her my status card as ID which she scrutinized and then her entire mood shifted. She was rude and made comments about her “having to take my word that I was who I said I was” because the room was already paid. Yes, I know. I paid for it. Horrible, terrible experience. They did offer me credit afterward but I never intend on staying there again.
Great rooms updated clean and well appointed.
We loved Sproat Lake Landing. Such a beautiful property! The room was beautiful, spacious, comfortable and came with a spectacular lake view. Check in was easy and staff were friendly and helpful. We also had a lovely dinner in the dining room. Food and service were outstanding. We would love to come back and enjoy this property again.
We only had one night at the Sproat Lake Landing Resort. We wish we had more time and felt well enough to enjoy the full experience. The staff was warm and helpful. The views of the lake and mountain were unbelievable. We did have to swim in the lake but not for kayaking or paddleboarding. The rooms were very nice and comfortable with an excellent shower and closet space. We were late to eat dinner, so we can't really provide an accurate review of the restaurant, but it was certainly an excellent surroundings and staff. The menu was limited by the time we ate. They are not open every night of the week. This is a smallish hotel, so there aren't a ton of rooms, but all are very nice. Due to the size parking is easily available and close to your room.
Sproat Lake Landing was very peaceful with a beautiful view of the lake. I love that we were able to take the kayak and canoe’s out whenever we wanted without any extra charge. The restaurant was nice and we enjoy the food and lake view from the patio. The staff were very kind and friendly when we checked in.
Room was great and being able to go out and kayak was awesome. Clean and great halfway point between Vancouver and Tofino.
Quiet, good service and good food
A must stop either on the way too and way back from Tofino. The lake is amazing and worth spending time by and on, the only thing that reaches the same high is the passion and attention to detail of the staff both in the hotel and the restaurant/ bar. Just great, will have to revisit on my return to get back out in the paddle board! What a way to start my morning, thanks
Sam was a beauty
We loved staying here! The views are great, the staff is friendly and super helpful, and the dock with kayaks and canoes and paddle boards was awesome. The rooms are spacious and our deck was the perfect place to enjoy evenings overlooking the lake. Would recommend!
Great location, facilities and staff.
Small resort but we really enjoyed our stay. It is on the way to Ucluelet/Tofino so we were only there for one night. Had a room at the back of the main building which had a nice of view of the lake. Appeared to a recent build as the room was very clean. Extremely quiet. The restaurant on site had limited hours so we got breakfast at a variety store across the road. Would highly recommend.
no daily housekeeping, nearest restaurant about 20 mins drive.
Great location on the most beautiful lake, can’t go wrong here!
We had a great stay. The views from the dock are spectacular! I enjoyed kayaking early in the morning. The lake was so peaceful and beautiful. Our room was in great condition as was the entire property. I wish we would have stayed a whole week instead of just one night.
Nice stay.
Hotel is modern and clean with good amnities. However there is not much ambience or vibe which is fine if you are aiming for a very quiet stay. Staff were friendly and helpful. A shade umbrella on the room’s patio would be very helpful.
It’s good for a small boutique hotel.
I arrived at 3 pm. 1 person at the front desk for 2 hours, and I never saw another soul the rest of my 2 night stay. I booked this property exclusively due to it being about 15 minutes from town, but having a restaurant and patio with a beautiful lake view. Unfortunately, the restaurant is closed Sun, Mon and Tues in the middle of summer!!! Peak season!!! I didn't learn of this until I arrived, and everything else in town was booked. I'm very disappointed and being a traveling rep, who travels constantly, I've never seen anything quite like this in over 30 years of work related travel, and I can say unequivocally, I will never go back to this hotel. No front desk staff, no restaurant, and no discounts for the inconvenience.
The price Monday to Wednesday should be reduced as there is no staff or restaurant available. You are expected to drive into port alberni for dinner etc or have your own dinner supplies yet no plates napkins table cutlery for this is available. A four star resort that offers nothing not even hand soap or bottled water. Only one packet of coffee. Thursday to Sunday the restaurant is open at 5:00. The wasps were insane and you could see the wasp catchers hadn’t been filled with fluid for ages so you could not eat outside. The staff at the restaurant were however excellent. Since the convenience store closed at 5 next door they were busy with people hopefully for ice cream etc. The wine selection was limited and you can feel they are doing the best they can with the limited resources whomever is in charge gives them. The outside patio could use a small table and a shade umbrella. The inside should have a table. There is a microwave in the main reception but not in the room. The cafe across the road is good for breakfast and snack but not for dinner since there are no cooking facilities at the hotel save for a communal microwave. The room was beautiful and the view great but this is not a resort in any sense of the word. There is no hot tub pool or sauna. Not even a bathtub. No lotion or hand soap provided. No bathrobes until we asked in day two. Even the coffee filters didn’t fit the machine. Attention to detail is all that’s needed. Please.
Location was very nice & it was on the water. The lady at the desk didn’t see the importance of having a grab bar and a bath mat in the tub. It’s an accident waiting to happen.
The room was very clean and modern. Easy check in + out, easy parking. There are free canoes + kayaks to use on the lake also.
The pipe has some problems. The water pressure is very low.
We stayed here on our way to Tofino from Victoria to break up the drive across Vancouver Island. Sproat Lake is located about 20 minutes from Port Alberni, where you’ll find many hotels but it was a busy time of year and there was no vacancy in town so we opted to stay here instead. The hotel rooms were clean, comfortable and quiet… though quite pricey. The front desk has very limited hours as do the on site restaurant and cafe. You’ll have to coordinate with the people managing the property if you’ll arrive outside of the hours so that someone can let you in. Staff were very friendly and helpful, property is located on Sproat Lake, they do have a few canoes and kayaks to borrow, though you may have to bring your own life jacket. It was pouring rain when we arrived so we didn’t venture out to the lake while we were there except to walk on the boardwalk to have a look. The hotel was average, the price was quite high. But we had a good sleep there and that was the main purpose of our stay.
Onsite food was pretty good but not incredible. The little general store was great.
Superbe site enchanteur! En raison du manque de personnel, aucune personne à l’accueil pour l’enregistrement à notre arrivée par contre le self Check in était bien organisé. Manque de gilet de sauvetage pour embarquement nautique non sécuritaire pour en profiter.
Loved the quiet and peacefulness. Birds, beavers, otters, turtles and a few mosquitoes.
Staff friendly and kind, interior design beautiful, beds very comfortable and the room very clean.
Lovely stay
Beautiful location that us quiet and just outaide if port alberni.
Peaceful and relaxing, great location! We will return!
Very nice, new, modern, secure, large rooms. Nice view. Remote and quiet - 20 min from town. - Port Alberni. We enjoyed taking their basic kayaks out in the bay. I would rate it 4.75/5
Great pieceful location on the lake. Amazing view. Very clean and modern with added advantage of a restaurant for dinner.
Large and comfortable room with great views over the lake to the mountains beyond. Able to watch wildlife from balcony especially the beavers resident in the water below. The restaurant was not open at all when we were there and the coffee shop is really only a take out.
Beautiful property, right on the lake! The rooms were lovely, updated and clean and the front desk staff was very friendly!
Beautiful location and friendly reception staff.
Absolutely loved it! Water crafts were an amazing bonus.
This is a nice little property with lake access via a private dock as well as kayaks and boats. The room was spacious and clean. The front desk is only staffed for a limited number of hours and days, although checkin and out is still easy. The only real issue is the lack of dining. If the on-site restaurant is not open (it has extremely limited hours and days) you have to drive into town or order food for a fee. For the price of these rooms the restaurant should be open daily. Be sure to eat prior to checking in or coming back for the night or bring food with you.
Lovely pastoral setting on the lake.
The room was great. Wonderful veiw. Friendly staff.
Beautiful location right on the lake and off highway. This place has scenic views. Staff was courteous and helpful. Very close to restaurants and Port Alberni. Rooms were very clean.
What an amazing place to stay. The resort offers stunning views, amazing wildlife watching, lakefront area with docks and free access to activities like kayaking and paddleboarding. Nestled in Vancouver Island with access to Port Alberni and Tofino 1.5hrs drive - absolutely would come back and thank you for an amazing stay!
Off the grid quaint family friendly spot with ample nature around you.
Only thing open was rooms, was looking forward to the nice deck. Staff leaves at 7 , only one other guest at hotel, very wierd. Room was fine but awful pillows. Long drive just for a room. Should have stayed in Port Alberni.
soundproof not really good. can hear awkward sound from next wall room. Other than that is great.
Thanks
Nice resort clean quiet
No ice and limited staff hours as off season
Very friendly and professional service. Rooms are well appointed and clean. Amazing view from lakeside rooms. Very disappointed the restaurant was closed on a Saturday, especially as the resort is 15 minutes out of town. Thankfully we had our own snacks. Balconies were full of cobwebs and could do with a power wash
Lovely atmosphere and super rooms. Clean, modern and we enjoyed the kayak and canoe trips! The lake is beautiful.
The room was nice. The water pressure in the shower could have been better
A wonderful location, great view
Beautiful spot, great room and comfy bed
Everything was great, except the restaurant was closed (even though it was supposed to be open on Saturday) due to staff shortage.
A clean and beautiful place to stay
So Beautiful property . I would love to stay here again Thank you.
Beautiful view of Sproat Lake from balcony. Wonderful and peaceful setting.
Beautiful, clean, spacious suite. It was very light and modern, and the view was stunning.
Amazing view. Easy to get to. Wonderful bed and the room was so clean
..
Beautiful view, nice location. Friendly staff. The mattress didn't have a sheet on it, neither did the duvet and the mattress cover was dirty. We didn't spend much time in the room as we were in town for hockey. So I didn't have the opportunity to speak to someone about it. However I would definitely stay here again and would recommend to others as Im sure the issue above would have been resolved.
Everything
Very peaceful, beautiful location. Perfect for a romantic getaway.
Bed was very comfortable and suite felt luxurious.Bathroom facilities were excellent. Lack of availability of food and fresh milk was reason for lack of 5 stars.
Excellent place
The room's new and clean, and the lake view fron the hotel was beautiful. If I have a chance in the future, definitely I will stay at this hotel again.
Great spot, quiet and clean rooms. Beautiful views and walking near by. Restaraunt was great, although only open two days a week.
Beautiful property and great staff - accomodating and friendly. Rooms were perfect, clean and had a great view. Quiet location too!
Nice place., restaraunt was closed, expidia did not mention this. Im sure the property would have told me if i called. But I used expedia. Thats what you get when you try to diy.
I like the quite place.
The Sproat Lake Landing wishes a beautiful spot. The rooms were well appointed, clean, and comfortable.
Nice view, cute place, and accessible location!
Hotel very nice clean for a small place quite nice and relaxing 😎
Very comfortable. We went off peak and got good rates. Rooms are well stocked and maintained. We will be back.
Such a nice spot but speakers around exterior decks meant whatever music was playing in the lounge was very loudly playing in room decks and right against wall of room meant hearing it everywhere. I had to explain to staff there was a speaker on my deck- they didn’t know? ruining my writing retreat weekend.
It was very lovely and extremely clean and welcoming. Comfortable beds and very homey. Friendly staff. Highly recommend it.
This was such a lovely hotel! Quiet, peaceful, great service, great rooms. We’d have loved to stay longer but we’re travelling so couldn’t this time, but we’ll be back! Thank you!
This property is an absolute gem! I would Not hesitate to book. It is really in the middle of nowhere, but that is likely why you are choosing this property. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The room was beautiful as were the views.
I loved my stay at this property - I was pleasantly surprised / I ended up staying a couple of additional days because I loved it so much / very friendly staff / nearby walking trails were breath taking / one of the highlights of 2024 / I will definitely return
Beautiful resort / I love the area / top notch walking trails around the lake / hotel was modern and comfortable / comfortable bed and furniture / I would highly recommend!
The hotel is located on the shores of Sproat Lake .it is a beautiful hotel it is very modern and very comfortable / the beds are 10/10 comfortable / very friendly and helpful front desk staff
Great room, convenient cafe for breakfast on our way out to explore the area.
Beautiful location. Beautiful building. Dining and outside deck beautiful. Rooms big and nice. Water pressure for sink and shower was extremely low. It was almost impossible to shower. Not sure why, but it was other rooms too. Decore a bit dated.
Lovely place, a comfortable room with good facilities. Unfortunately we only found out by email four days before we were due to arrive, that the restaurant was shut during our stay. As the resort is 20 minutes from the nearest town, it involved a 40 minute round trip to go for dinner. On a more positive note we made great use of the onsite kayaks to explore the lake.
Nice stopover on the way to Tofino. Cafe on site is very limited, so had to back track into Port Alberni to find breakfast.
What a gem!! Highly recommend
