A magical and incredible place… special mention must go to the staff who bring the place to life… their kindness isn’t just politeness, it’s a love for what they do, and that really touches our hearts. A special mention goes to Rajneesh, who is always smiling and attentive to our needs. Pooja, Amarjjeet, Chef Arif, led by Kulbanash – an observant, committed man who is fair to his team. What a great man he is!

access - since the ganges was high mark - it was very painful to reach the property

It was amazing breakfast everyday. I enjoyed so nice local traditional foods in safe and with great taste. The hotel staff including Chef Arief, Sandeep, Pooja and Aniar Jeet were very friendly and helpful for me to understand about food and indigenous culture.
Shower water leaked to the vanity area a little bit but it was not a big problem.

Everything was excellent
Our family stay at BrijRama Palace was truly unforgettable. The magnificent palace and its exceptional Ganges-side location are impressive, but what made our experience special was the warmth and genuine hospitality of the entire team. Returning to Banaras as an NRI family after 14–15 years was deeply meaningful. The team took wonderful care of our children, introducing them to the city’s flavours - from chaat and kachori to traditional sweets and countless local delicacies. The food throughout our stay was outstanding, especially the memorable 10-course experience at AANGAN. Kathak and sitar performances, pottery, Jyotish, the traditional paan counter, boat rides and thoughtfully arranged excursions brought the culture of Banaras beautifully into our stay. These never felt like standard hotel activities, but like authentic pieces of the city woven naturally into each day. Even while exploring Varanasi, assistance was always immediate and personal. Special thanks to Arif, Kulbansh, Nitesh, Pooja, Chef Devansh, Sandeep and Cecilla, as well as the many others whose names we may not recall but whose warmth we certainly will. BrijRama gave us a beautiful combination of Banaras’s heritage, spirituality, culture and cuisine and helped our children experience its magic for themselves. Some places you visit; some stay with you. We left with beautiful memories, full hearts and even fuller stomachs -thanks to a team that always insisted on “just one more” Banarasi speciality! Until next time, Banaras - and heartfelt thanks to the entire BrijRama family. 🙏
Honestly, nothing. The only thing we didn’t like was having to leave - the team had made us feel so wonderfully cared for that our stay felt far too short!
Exceptional
Beautiful heritage property on the banks of the Ganges Chef Arif / Roshni / Driver Giri / Shuraj / Cecilia / Prashant / Chef Stya / Chef Anish / Meera / Sandeep / Saurab / Menpreet / Rajnish / Hariq / all of them made our stay so special with a cake and beautiful decorations for my birthday !
Brij Rama is an experience unto itself!! It is not just a stay. Beautiful renditions of the flute, sitar, and kathak every day, food reflects authentic Banarasi cuisine, the room, the amenities, the decor, the pleasant staff, the warm welcomes and goodbyes, every little detail thought through carefully to delight its guests. Chief Chef Arif was able to customize the meals to be spice free so my daughter could eat, and the reception team were so nice and wonderful!! We come back to Varanasi every few years and we won’t stay anywhere else again!
Location and facilities at the hotel dance astrologer PAN etc
What a pleasant experience ! Must visit . Kajal and Simran are soo lovely . Loveddd the malaiyo 🙌🏻
Great experience with Kajol and Simran , amazing dishes
A beautiful hotel and a lovely place to have drinks with a view of the Ganges. Big thank you to Nitesh who was very kind and gave us lots of recommendations!
The ambience is really good. The soup and lasagna are something to look forward to.
It was an lovely evening with the team and the chef Arif, ridership and Nitish have made our evening more memorable
Locatie is perfect, direct aan de Ganges. Personeel doet erg hun best. Ontbijt is goed. Prachtig hotel.
Great atmosphere! Nitesh and Suraj were great
really enjoyed the food at the in house restaurant! Chef Arif was so generous and made us try the local delicacy “potli ki subzi” which was so good! Servers Rudresh & Nitesh were so kind and efficient which made the overall experience so worth it :)
Food was so delicious..nitesh sandeep and rudresh..suraj..all are so good so decipiline..good behavior ❤️❤️thnkewww so much to all..
What an elegant feast! The former Palace is beautiful. Our group of friends had a wonderful lunch. My friends enjoyed the western selections and the Pear goat Cheese Sald was a big hit. I could not be in such a exquisite palace and not have Indian cruisine. Chef Arif did not disappoint. We enjoyed talking to Chef as he explained the menu. we also received excellent service from the staff, Rudresh, Pooja and Nitesh.
Lovely food and courteous staff. Service by Nitesh was great.
An absolutely wonderful stay! From the moment I arrived, the staff made me feel welcome and valued. The hotel was beautifully maintained, the room was spacious, spotless, and very comfortable, and the overall atmosphere was luxurious and relaxing. The service was exceptional, with every detail thoughtfully taken care of. The amenities, food, and hospitality exceeded my expectations. I truly enjoyed my experience and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a memorable and comfortable stay. I look forward to visiting again! Would also like to thank the staff— nitesh , sandeep, pooja , saurav, rudresh , manpreet and ashutosh
Riverside location, old world palatial charm.
There is no exhaust in the washroom, so sometime it stinks.
Food is very good service is very good very good kajal, simran
Good room Great service Awesome experience
We had a lovely experience at Aangan. The tasting menu was very well thought out and each dish was made with so much attention and care. A special thanks to Chef Devansh, for creating the most delicious food ever!
Absolutely incredible- the food was creative and reflected the history and culture of the hotel This was an unexpected highlight for us - the chef was inventive and so proud of his thoughtful offerings Simran presentation and love of this restaurant is reflected in her introduction of each course and pride in the exquisite atmosphere.
Amazing Experience!! Very good sitting at Aangan. Loved the heritage and culture, kept alive in these modern times.
The restaurant was amazing. We ordered the Paneer Tikka, Chilli Cheese Toast, Thai Curry, Biryani, Kulcha, and Daal Bati. Everything was excellent and the spice level and flavor was superb for each dish. The paneer melted in your mouth, and for an Indian restaurant, the curry and jasmine rice was spectacular. The rest were also really good, and I really enjoyed the service. Nitesh and Sandeep were very hospitable and were always there near us to treat and serve us with whatever need. We even had the privilege of meeting Aarif, the head chef, who told us his story and showed the origins. Come here to eat! Amazing food and amazing service!!
All the facilities were good.
Boat service requires improvement.
Great stay with great service and staff. Manpreet, rudresh, Simran and chef Arif were good for the miring breakfast. So was evening dinner and staff on the reception and the boats were outstanding. Sanjana and others on the front desk made a huge difference to make the stay comfortable. Keep up the standards of services which will go long way in clearing putting you on top despite the competitive landscape changing. All the best. Thanks, sanjay kumar
Dining at Darbhanga Restaurant in BrijRama Palace was truly a memorable experience. The food was absolutely delicious, with every dish prepared to perfection. The staff was exceptionally warm, attentive, and courteous, making us feel genuinely welcomed throughout our visit. Would like to mention their name Nitesh, Pooja, Sandeep & Manpreet .The heritage ambiance of the palace, overlooking the Ganges, adds a magical charm that makes the entire experience unforgettable. If you're looking for outstanding food, impeccable hospitality, and a royal heritage setting, this is a place you simply shouldn't miss. Highly recommended!
Manpoeet and Simran served me a great meal.
A fantastic culinary journey, very well presented and tasted delicious. Simran was a wonderful hostess.
They care in experiences and nourish in food. We went in peak summer and hot weather, they filled our afternoons with activity and lots and lots of food. Bansuri in morning and sitar during high tea is how u experience Banaras. Full circle.
Aangan Restaurant with the heritage Brij Rama Hotel in Varnasi is the most beautiful restaurant in this spiritual city. The ten course meal experience was exceptional. The highlights included the fresh tasting butternut vegetable curry, all local produce, the incredible cevice tender coconut with cold betel leaf broth and the luscious malliyo - a speciality dish famous in Varnasi! The chefs are exceptional - you will be not be disappointed! Thank you to the team, Rava, Rudresh, Simran and Kajal and all those behind the scenes! I had a truly unforgettable gastronomic experience which I will remember always! Simran, the waitress was delightful and
Here’s the updated review including the food: Heading: An Unforgettable Stay at BrijRama Palace ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Review: We had an exceptional stay at BrijRama Palace. The hospitality was truly outstanding, and every staff member made us feel welcomed and cared for. A special thank you to Rudresh, Rajneesh, Pramodh, Ashutosh, Manpreet, and Arif for their warmth, professionalism, and attention to detail. A heartfelt thanks as well to the lift attendants, boat crew, and every other team member who made our stay so memorable. The ambience of the palace is magical—the beautiful heritage setting, soothing fragrance throughout the property, breathtaking location on the ghats, and serene atmosphere create an unforgettable experience. The food was another highlight of our stay. Every meal was fresh, delicious, and thoughtfully prepared, with an excellent variety and authentic flavors. Dining with the spectacular views of the Ganges made every meal even more special. From the impeccable service to the luxurious ambience, outstanding cuisine, and unique location, every detail exceeded our expectations. BrijRama Palace is more than just a hotel—it’s an experience we’ll cherish forever. Thank you to the entire team for making our stay so special. We can’t wait to return! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Simran was our server. She was wonderful. This is not your average tasting menu. This is a lm immersion into the tastes of history. The food was skillfully made and the presentation was top notch. Simran taught us all about how the history of the palace influenced the menu. You should definitely try this experience. The room was beautiful and the flute player made it very special.
Had the most memorable evening of the summer coming to the Darbhanga restaurant of Brijrama Palace, Varanasi. We visited with family from IIT (BHU) and were attended by the most warm and welcoming staff, especially, Mr. Sandeep, Mr. Ajay, and Mr. Rajneesh, who served with so much care, attention, and polite gestures. The Katthak dance so gracefully presented it melted our hearts. Definitely a worth it evening and will visit again. Thank you Brijrama!
Simran and Kakal what an experience I will remember for a long time at Angan. Thank you for the hospitality and I love 10 course meal...

Everything about the hotel was amazing the food the atmosphere the rooms. Their attention to detail is just perfect! It’s the only way to come to varanasi. Arif, Rudresh, Meera and Ranjnish are excellent and made our stay that much better. The entertainment and other activities are amazing as well. Must stay and we will certainly be back.
This hotel offered an excellent stay over our two nights here. Its most distinctive feature is that it has been renovated from an ancient palace, situated right beside the Ganges River. Guests are picked up by boat for check-in, which brings a strong sense of ritual to the whole arrival experience. Furthermore, the hotel provides exceptionally thoughtful and humanised service. Unlike most other palace-style hotels that follow rigid, business-oriented service standards, this place is full of warmth and hospitality. The staffs, Sandeep, Arif, Saurabh and Manpreet are happy to chat with guests, and when I was unwell during my stay, they kindly prepared warm salt water for me. These heartfelt touches made our experience far more memorable and pleasant.
My stay at BrijRama Palace was truly unforgettable. The hotel itself is stunning, with a unique location directly on the Ganges and an atmosphere that perfectly captures the magic of Varanasi. A special thanks to Chef Arif, who took exceptional care of every meal. His professionalism, attention to detail, and the quality of the food made each dining experience memorable. I would also like to thank the talented henna artist, whose kindness and skill added a beautiful cultural touch to my stay. What impressed me the most was the warmth and dedication of the entire staff. From the front desk to housekeeping, the boat transfers, and the restaurant team, everyone was genuinely welcoming, attentive, and always ready to help with a smile. BrijRama is much more than a luxury hotel—it is an experience that allows you to feel the soul of Varanasi while enjoying outstanding hospitality. I highly recommend it and would be delighted to return in the future.
Visiting the spiritual city Varanasi and staying in Brijrama Palace on the Banks of River Ganga was outstanding. Special mention to the staff of this great palace. Pooja, Saurav, Kulbansh, Arif and Ajay made our wedding Anniversary truly memorable. A special cake on this occasion made Really our day. Wish to thank them all and others for being a part of my special day in Life.
Kulbansh, Pooja and Nitesh wee fantástico while my time here. Be sure I’ll be back.
I only had 1 night, so I wanted to make sure I was in the center of action in Varanasi, and this hotel definitely is. They organized the tours for me and the airport transfers, so I really didn’t have to worry about anything since I had no time to lose. Thanks to all the wonderful employees, Pooja, Nitesh, Kulbansh, and all the others that made my stay really great with some guidance, taking me pictures, or simply with a smile.
Amazing 10 course meal Chef Davesh is great at what he has accomplished in this meal Flavours, texture, variety all 10/10 Best wishes to Nitesh, he is getting well grooved into food and Services.
The property is a heritage property and the facilities and staff are both excellent. They really make the guests feel like part of their family. Special callout to Arif ji and Roshni ji for their attention to detail and generosity.
This is not about the property but Id say, be careful about buying into the temple ritual offerings from the priests and external vendors.Make sure you fully understand what you're getting for your money's worth before signing up for any activities/ tours.
Absolutely outstanding in every way. The team are incredible. Nothing is too much and every need is anticipated and surpassed. Special thanks to Simran and Asif ! But just amazing.
Wow, Varanasi you didn’t disappoint! We chose to stay our last 2 nights in India down near the ghats at the amazing BrijRama Hotel. It is a beautiful heritage building that has so much character and history. From the moment we arrived by boat the staff looked after us so well. The sweets & mangoes that were brought to our room daily, the Indian dancing, the hi-tea and tasty breakfasts (thanks to to Saurav for suggesting all sorts of foods to try) the beautiful sitar playing all made it an amazing place to stay. I would also like to recommend Chef Devansh’s 10-course meal at Aangan Restaurant if you have the time. The food was incredible and the hosts Nitesh and Simran made the whole experience very special.

★★★★★ Exceptional stay at BrijRama Staying at BrijRama was truly a magical experience. The location right on the Ganges offers breathtaking views, especially during the Ganga Aarti. The hotel beautifully blends heritage, peace and luxury. What made it even more special was the warmth and attentiveness of all the staff — everyone, from the team at the hotel to the boatsmen, made us feel cared for and welcomed. A memorable experience in the heart of Kashi. Highly recommended.

Perched dramatically on the sacred banks of the Ganges, BrijRama Palace is less a hotel and more a living slice of Varanasi’s history. Believed to be one of the city’s oldest heritage structures, the palace has been beautifully restored into a luxury stay that immerses guests in the spiritual rhythm of the ghats from the moment they arrive by boat. What makes this property unforgettable is its location on its own private ghat, offering uninterrupted views of sunrise rituals, temple bells and evening aarti along the river. The experience feels intimate and timeless — a rare blend of royal hospitality, classical music, and traditional décor that reflects Banarasi culture at every turn. Rooms are elegantly furnished with heritage touches while still offering modern comfort, and the service feels warm, attentive and deeply personalised. Staying here isn’t just about accommodation; it’s about waking up to the Ganges, watching life unfold on the ghats, and feeling completely transported into the soul of Varanasi. For travellers seeking a unique heritage experience right in the heart of the city’s spiritual landscape, BrijRama Palace is truly special.
Our stay at BrijRama Palace was truly exceptional. The hospitality was warm, attentive, and genuinely caring. A special mention to the chef who went completely out of the way to prepare exactly what we wanted—every meal was customized to our preferences and absolutely delicious. The flavors, freshness presentation, and attention to detail were outstanding. It felt like a home away from home, but with royal treatment. We will definitely come back again here just for brij.
"We had an absolutely phenomenal experience at Brij Rama Palace. It is an exquisite property that perfectly captures the magic of Varanasi, but what truly sets it apart is the people. The team catered to our every need with grace and precision.
The experience was good at the Darbhanga restaurant and Arif attended is well. Very friendly staff and food was delicious.
Restaurant experience was amazing! I’d recommend trying Potli ki sabzi. Great hospitality and service by Arif ji. Would come here again.
Our two-night stay at BrijRama Palace with my wife became far more memorable than we could have imagined. The experience began even before we reached the hotel, when Abhinandan, Bhanu, and Babulal picked us up by boat from Namo Ghat. What should have been a calm ride across the Ganges suddenly turned into a dramatic encounter with nature. A thunderstorm, hailstorm, and fierce winds pushed our boat from one side of the river toward the other, while the Ganges became ferocious with rising waves. Despite this being their first extreme weather experience on duty, all three handled the situation with remarkable calmness, courage, and professionalism. On arrival, the energy shifted beautifully. Brijesh ji and the hotel’s in-house Pandit ji welcomed us with sacred mantras and a Rudraksha mala, which felt deeply grounding after the chaos of the river. We stayed in the Maharaja Room, which was luxurious, atmospheric, and offered unforgettable views of the Ganges. Since we were completely drenched, Manpreet at check-in and Manish, the hotel manager, immediately understood our situation, arranged towels, and took us straight to the room without delay. The complimentary laundry and curated inclusions added further value to the experience. Dining was another highlight. Chef Arif was gentle, polite, and gracious, while Sandeep at the restaurant was attentive, courteous, and consistently excellent. A very special mention goes to Rajnikant Kaushik ji, the outsourced Pandit ji, who arranged Mangla Aarti at Tatkal speed, accompanied us to the evening Ganga Aarti at Dashashwamedh Ghat, and organised a private spiritual visit to Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple and Kaal Bhairav Temple. His access, trust, and network made us feel less like tourists and more like privileged insiders. Checkout with Khushi was the perfect ending. Her warmth, friendliness, and humour left us smiling, and the departure pooja through the in-house Pandit ji was a beautiful final touch. Highly recommended!

5 on 5 superb love the experience. Out of the world Arif and his team Ali ,Sandeep and Manpreet fave an amazing gastronomic experience. Everything was soo toothsome.. They made all our food related wishes full filled. Sanjana , Aushotosh and his team in front desk was excellent. They kept note of every minute details. The boat guy Abhnandan was sooo good. And the janitor at main gate. Everyone was really good. My kashi trip was so heart and soul full. Taking tons of memories in our heart. Thanks to the entire birjram team🙏🙏🙏
Want to feel like royalty? This is the perfect place to stay over at. My heart is filled with so much gratitude for all the hospitality that Brijrama has shown us . Stay? Amazing Experience? Surreal And oh of course the food , finger licking good. Everything that i wished for in this is trip brijrama made sure we got it . A comforting , relaxing and explicit vacation here is just what i needed out from my hectic schedule and work . A special special thank you to Arif our chef , an absolute gem who made us feel like a pampered family other staff Ali, Sandeep , Manpreet Abhinandan, Sanjana, ashutosh and the entire staff team who made our stay here worthwhile. Taking back home a bunch of memories and experiences that i would cherish and remember for a long long time .
Wonderful experience from start to finish. Pooja was incredibly kind and took such great care of us — we arrived very hungry, and she made us feel completely welcomed and looked after. Chef Raif and Chef Ajay were outstanding. They prepared a delicious vegetarian Indian meal, and every dish was full of rich, balanced flavors. Truly one of the most satisfying meals we’ve had.
Our two-night stay at BrijRama Palace with my wife turned out to be far more memorable than we could ever have imagined, and in ways that began even before we reached the hotel. We were picked up by boat from Namo Ghat by Abhinandan, Bhanu, and Babulal, and what should have been a serene ride across the Ganges suddenly transformed into a dramatic battle with nature. We found ourselves caught in an intense thunderstorm, hailstorm, and fierce winds. At one point, the force of the weather pushed our boat from one shore toward the other, while the Ganges became ferocious, with waves growing larger by the minute. It was honestly the kind of experience one never forgets. Despite this being, as they later shared, their first encounter with weather this extreme on duty, all three handled the situation with remarkable professionalism, calmness, and courage. Their composure gave us confidence in a moment that could easily have become frightening. As if the universe wanted to balance adrenaline with spirituality, we arrived at the palace entrance to be greeted by Brijesh ji and the hotel’s in-house Pandit ji with a beautiful welcome ceremony of sacred mantras and a Rudraksha mala. After the chaos of the river, this felt deeply grounding and almost surreal, like stepping from a storm straight into sanctity. We stayed in the Maharaja Room, and what an experience that was in its own right. Waking up to uninterrupted views of the Ganges from a heritage palace is something difficult to describe in words. The room was luxurious, atmospheric, and rich with old-world charm. After our forced river adventure, we were both completely drenched, and this is where the attentiveness of the staff truly stood out. Manpreet at check-in and Manish, the hotel manager, handled everything with warmth and efficiency. They immediately understood that all we needed was to get dry and settled, quickly arranged towels, and escorted us straight to our room without any delay. It may sound like a small gesture, but in that moment it meant a lot. The inclusion of complimentary laundry in the room rate was another thoughtful touch that we appreciated immensely. The Maharaja Suite also came with an exceptional range of complimentary inclusions and curated experiences. Of course, as they say, there is no free lunch in luxury hospitality, but BrijRama certainly knows how to make guests feel that they are receiving extraordinary value. Dining at the hotel was another highlight. Chef Arif was one of the most polite, gentle, and gracious chefs I have ever come across, wonderfully far removed from the Gordon Ramsay stereotype many of us jokingly imagine when we hear “head chef.” Sandeep at the restaurant was equally exceptional, attentive without being intrusive, and consistently courteous throughout our meals. A very special mention must go to Rajnikant Kaushik ji, the hotel’s outsourced Pandit ji, who was simply brilliant in arranging things that are not always easy to access, even with money. He organised Mangla Aarti for us at Tatkal speed, took us personally for the evening Ganga Aarti at Dashashwamedh Ghat, and arranged a private guided spiritual visit to Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple and Kaal Bhairav Temple. In India, money can certainly buy luxury to a point, but there are some experiences where what truly matters is access, trust, and network, and this is where his support made all the difference. We felt less like tourists and more like privileged insiders. Finally, checkout with Khushi was the perfect closing note to the stay. She was warm, friendly, and had a lovely sense of humour that left us smiling as we departed. We also received a departure pooja ritual through the inhouse panditji. BrijRama Palace did not just give us accommodation. It gave us an unforgettable story of adventure, spirituality, luxury, and heartfelt hospitality all woven into one. We arrived soaked, windswept, and slightly shaken, but left deeply grateful and thoroughly enchanted. Highly recommended for anyone wanting not just to stay in Varanasi, but to feel Varanasi.
Arif, everything you cooked was absolutely amazing. Thank you so much for explaining the local dishes and teaching me how to make dosa! I had such a great time. This is truly my best memory from India

Really amazing service, beautiful restaurant and truly great innovative food. Simran, Kajal and Chef Ravi were all great.
We had an exceptional stay at BrijRama. Beyond the stunning setting and beautiful views of Varanasi by the Ganges, what truly stands out is the outstanding quality of the service. The staff are attentive, warm, and genuinely dedicated to making every moment perfect. The cuisine is equally impressive, refined, varied, and expertly prepared. Combined with the wide range of activities offered throughout the stay, everything comes together to create a truly memorable experience. A heartfelt thank you to the entire team and specially to Arif for such impeccable service and hospitality
Good service. Simran knew her thing and was friendly. Cool building next to the river. The food did not match the price tag. It is presented in a good way but the taste do not reach the level I hoped for. It taste curry. Maybe obvious cause we are in India. But it just dont sticks out.
Absolutely lovely experience and food. Chef Arif recommended a local tomato and apple soup which was divine, and the best dessert - a cooling chocolate truffle ball. Manpreet and Pooja made us feel very comfortable and looked after. We will be back tomorrow night!
Chef arif, shiv ,ali, saurbh , kajal , nitesh, khushi and manpreet .👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🤗🤗😊😊
Charming, beautiful and a great location. Friendly and attentive staff. Would highly recommend. Chef Arif made our mornings special by bringing us local specialties to try.
Food here is an experience in itself - kudos to Chef Arif, Ali, and the entire team!
Lovely 10 course tasting menu. Simran our waitress was attentive.
It wasn’t just a meal, it was a culinary journey. The ambiance was ornate and palatial. The food was sophisticated and delicious while the service was refined and beyond exceptional. High praise goes to chefs Ravi and Hasheem. Simran our waitress made the whole experience memorable. Would recommend.
