Walk from parking to chalet quite far. OK if you’re fit, but would have been difficult with ageing/disabled companions.

Location close to airport. Grounds are pretty, nice open spacious feel.

Very tiny room, no cups or spoons to make tea had to go look for staff for finding basic things like a bin. The receptionist is a person who just stares at you blankly with no reactions..I was so annoyed with the staff and the disappointment of the place. Overrated but not up to my expectations.

I did not have breakfast as I wanted to rest/sleep a bit longer.

The view in the evening, with all the little lights, it was magical!

The shower head was a bit gloded, the room where we were booked in was far at the back. Room 37, but it was conformable, beautiful!

The staff are pleasant and very helpful. The room was good just we did expect a microwave in family room. The rooms are well kept and linen was clean.

Its a bit dissapointing that there is restaurant on site but we had to uber eats Friday eve for dinner as you cant order basic food eg pizza off a menu or hot plate of chips . Breakfast Day one was a not great food was cold, juice was sour and nuggets received were raw.

I loved the Beautiful gardens, well maintained common areas and the incredible staff. The food at Dinner and Breakfast was tasty and fresh. The room was comfortable and clean. We really felt at home at this establishment.

WiFi connectivity in the room was poor. It would be great if a microwave was included in the rooms to warm up our takeaways.

The bathroom could do with a steam clean and more carpets since the floors were freezing cold.

Very comfortable stay at the Ascott Inn. The dinner and breakfast at the bar was delicious and the staff were very friendly. A lovely stay in Pietermaritzburg.

Wish that size room was a little cheaper or at least reward regular booking of those rooms with a discount or a free stay. I will be booking room 31 for next weekend.

The place is neat, well-maintained, and quiet. The garden is exceptional—spotless and truly impressive. Staff were courteous and highly responsive to requests, and both check-in and check-out processes were efficient. I would especially like to commend the check-in experience. I travelled overnight from Limpopo and was scheduled to check in at 14h00; however, I arrived early in the morning at around 08h00. I was kindly allowed to check in early and rest, which was greatly appreciated and made a significant difference after a long journey. Overall, an excellent stay and highly recommended.

However, during the booking process I was under the impression that breakfast was included in the package, only to learn upon arrival that it was not.

First day I wasn't happy at all with room given to me, only 2nd day after I went to complain to a gentleman who comforted me well and change to a exceptional room, and I was happy

The condition of place itself but room number 4 is not good for me. I also want to come back to experience more of different food and able to rate

There are two directions to get to Ascot Inn. Unfortunately I initially used a dodge route. Ascot Inn should get hold of Waze/Maps to not direct through Promed & over the low level bridge of Umzinduzi

First time staying there, really enjoyed the quiet and well kept space.

My stay was too short

There was mould in the shower, the fridge was a-bit old and was rusty on the outside

The buffet is very bad n no varieties to choose from .. Chairs outside the rooms are not cleaned.

Cleanliness an the staff was polite an very informative

There was nothing that we did not like but just if possible can your put a small microwave so that clients do not have to go restuarant to heat.

The garden was amazing. Staff all went out of their way to accommodate my family' and I . Safe parking. Great lighting

The rooms are exceptionally well proportioned and perfectly cleaned. The food is well above expectations and staff really go out of their way to make kids and elderly visitors feel right at home. The friendly staff are available for assistance no matter how big or small the request. Gardens are literally like fairytales.

That fact that i could not stay there for EVER !!!

The breakfast staff did not have us booked for Breakfast made us wait while they went to find out.... Then after finding out there was no coffee or anything kept out.... The first question was would we like pork sausages as we are Muslim it was uncomfortable so we left without having a morsel...

The place is so beautiful and staff are super friendly this will be my go to whenever I need a place in Pietermaritzberg

The place was beautiful and the rooms neat and clean. Warm and cozy.

Breakfast we did not get. we thought it was room only. We appreciated Hendry going extra mile in getting us a microwave that really helped with my sons meal preps as he is a swimmer and needed constant meals. The kitchen and bar staff were so accommodating and helpful was so nice to come home after long swims and chill in front of the fire place, My son enjoyed the spit meal on thur while i relaxed with a glass of wine. Relaxed environment.

The highway we could hear from the rooms but eventually on the 2nd night we adapted. When it rains car park not comfortable access muddy. It was along time since coming back to PMB had to familiarize my way to the pool but enjoyed coming back to our unit.

The breakfast was delicious and the staff was super friendly and we enjoyed our stay.

Booked for 4 adults, 3 kids, paid extra. Gave us 2 separate rooms. One was extremely small with 1 bed. Other room only had 3 beds. 3 had to sleep on the floor.
