Wonderful staff that is very helpful. Hotel is very nice and the breakfast buffet is excellent with eggs, breads, fruit and a large variety of drinks. Great location also.

Have stayed before & really enjoyed dinner but unfortunately the restaurant was not open on a Monday ! Lovely stylish hotel & comfy rooms

Le stanze “basic” al primo primo piano sono veramente scadenti. La moquette odora di sigaretta. Nelle stanze non c’è nulla, accappatoio, ciabatte usa e getta, cassaforte. Nemmeno un piccolo frigorifero. Qualità delle lenzuola e asciugamani nella media. Da salvare solo la posizione. Non vale assolutamente il prezzo

When you open the advise at Hotel.com they have picture from a very nice room. But the room you get is far away from that. We had tvo rooms and they were not nice

Lovely bedrooms with lots of space. Friendly staff and an excellent breakfast. The restaurant was closed during our stay (because of the Bayonne festival), but the hotel was helpful in warning us in advance and recommending local restaurants that were open. Very central hotel, but quiet and peaceful, backing onto a pretty courtyard.

Très bel Hotel. Situé dans le centre de Bayonne. Bouilloire et machine à café dans la chambre. Bon lit. Spacieux. À recommander.

Good air-conditioning, confortable bed, good hotwater.. we had an overnight stop and the hotel room met our expectations.

L' accueil e sest bien déroulé, avec gentiment un accès à la chambre presque 2h avant le check in officiel. Cependant la chambre nest pas à la hauteur dun 4 etoiles: 1) interrupteur de la Salle de bain juste à côté des WC non nettoyé ( depuis quelques temps !) 2) pas de protege matelas avec le drap directement posé sur un matelas ayant un certain nombre de traces... 3) pas de rideaux à la fenêtre du 1er etage donnant sur la place et le resto et le lit juste en face obligeant à tirer les rideaux occultants meme en plein jour et pas d-insonorisation sonore alors que la fenêtre donne sur la terrasse du restaurant Lorsque je suis allée reclamer à 17h45 la dame à a tres gentilent réagi eqt venue nettoyer et ma apporté un srap supplémentaire, alors quelle etait toute seule car plus de personnel de service sur place à cette heure là...d'où une ztoile de plus pour cette réactivité

Cet hôtel est à la fois chic et simple, et le séjour y est délicieux. La décoration de chaque pièce est d'une rare élégance, les meubles, chinés ici et là, sont ravissants, et le personnel est d'une extrême gentillesse. Bref un séjour idéal !

Très bel Hotel dans une tour ancienne. Acceuil très chaleureux. Repas excellents, dignes d'un chef étoilé (et pourtant peu chers). Parking couvert à proximité (compter 32 euros les 24h). L'hotel est situé en centre ville de Bayonne; tous les magasins et restaurants sont accessibles à pied. Bayonne est une très belle ville.

A 5* experience in a beautiful location with a fabulous room with balcony. The stylish interior design, a la Philippe Starck, and personal touches only added to the overall experience. The level of service was exceptional and the general manager Edgar was extremely kind, informative, helpful and compassionate, and all front of house, waiting and other staff were helpful and polite. The enclosed swimming pool (open 24hrs) and sauna were fab as was the breakfast buffet. An amazing experience.

Lovely stay in this oldest hotel in Bayonne. Staff was gracious and very helpful. The breakfast was lovely. At dinner we ordered the veal chop for two. It was so good we ate the WHOLE thing!

We enjoyed our stay here. Hotel is part of the ancient wall from 4th century or so, had been renovated and well kept. Roomss are spacious. Staff was very kind.

Beautiful large room, comfortable and overlooking the yard where people were signing. It was fabulous. Dining was amazing. And the area was super cute! Staff was friendly as well.

Bon emplacement mais ça ne suffit pas!!! Accueil très froid Chambre sans grand intérêt et surtout sans douche. Demi palier pas très pratique. Literie bonne Chambre très mal insonorisée tant du bruit de la rue que de l'hotel. La priorité d'un hotel étant de bien dormir... note générale 2/5 Déjeuné également sans intérêt. Mauvais qualité prix à 120€ la nuit.

You could find many restaurants around this hotel. However, we had dinner in the garden of the hotel. The menu was interesting and also well made. The atmosphere of the dinner place was very good and while we had a dinner, a band played music that entertained us a lot. About a room... The interior coordinate was very good taste and very cozy and clean. I liked the room very much. We highly recommend this hotel to stay.

Ok hotell för en natt. Inte fyrstjärnig standard utan mer ett trestjärnigt. Heltäckningsmattor, korridorer och små gångar med trappor. Vi kunde bära väskorna men har man svårt att gå/bära är detta inte hotellet för dig. Bra läge och gångavstånd överallt. Sköna sängar, men inget extra alls.

The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The area is beautiful and easy access to all restaurants and shops.

My room did not look at all like the photos so that was disappointing. However, the staff was WONDERFUL! The public spaces were also very nice. Location was great for exploring Bayonne

In it self the Hotel is oke. It just doesn't meet our expectation as a **** hotel. The bar was closed, restaurant was closed and the friendly lady at the desk was the only employee available. In comparison: We just came from a IBIS budget hotel with a nice bar, several personal on duty and a swimmingpool. IBIS budget is what? Two stars at most?

The hotel is very cool. We like it so much we are staying a second night. The family room is perfect for us as it has a lot of space and my 15 year old and 20 year old kids can have some space to themselves. Also it is pretty cool aesthetically

I wouldn't recommend or stay here again. Coming for the US it was more along the lines of a 3 star hotel. The carpeting in the room was very stained and there was a bad smell in the hotel hallways. The front desk staff was not very helpful upon arrival (no offer to help with bags or share recommendations). If you want a hotel that feels clean/comfortable I would recommend looking at one of the more modern hotels in the area.

We stayed in one of the suites of the hotel which is in the medieval tower. The room and the hotel were perfect. The hotel also has a restaurant which serves excellent French food. It was perfectly located within easy walking distance for shopping and dining.

Wonderful old hotel built into the city walls. Friendly and helpful staff and upgraded room were excellent Perfectly placed for the old city centre, quay and cathedral but easily accessible by car - reduced rate at secure parking across the road.

Très bon hôtel avec un emplacement top.

This hotel is very centrally located in the old section. The staff is delightful. When we entered, the woman at the desk warned us that there might be a hot water heater problem. Within the hour she informed us that all was well. The only drawback for the elderly or handicapped is that one must climb several charming stairs to reach the lobby.

Smelly rooms dark and dingy

We had a wonderful stay at the Hotel Basses Pyrénées in one of their junior suites. Great staff, easy, welcoming check-in, and breakfast. The rooms were well furnished in a very unique set of rooms. Great amenities and comfortable stay. Nice location to see the old town of Bayonne. Will definitely come back to the hotel when in the area again.

The property should not be considered a four-star hotel. The staff were lovely. Location and parking very good and easy. The hotel amenities are basic and simple. More of a three-star experience at best.

Expensive breakfast ! Otherwise a pleasant stay, once we worked out how the aircon worked - instructions would be useful.

A beautiful state for our weekend in Bayonne. Impeccable room, service, restaurant and café. If you’d like quiet, you might consider requesting a street view as the Terrace restaurant was busy until very late.

Classic hotel that was clearly unloved for a time but us being brought up to date

Lovely little hotel very close to the beautiful independent shops of Bayonne. The only thing letting it down for us was that it was a little dusty on the bathroom floor. The air con was brilliant and quiet though and it’s well located for the sights of Bayonne & Biarritz. Would recommend.

Always a pleasure to stay at Hotel des Basses Pyrenees! The place is beautiful and clean, easily accessible, the restaurant is good, staff too. The area around is great and Biarritz is a short drive from the hotel. Share this with only your coolest friends.

This was our first trip to Bayonne and it wont be our last. From the moment we arrived we felt at home, the hotel were very friendly and welcoming. We were upgraded to a junior suite over looking the rugby pitch and a side view of the river, it was very spacious clean and perfect.

For a nice looking hotel in a good area.....Strobing light bulb not changed, toilet paper not replenished and not vacuumed after first night, WiFi poor, only plastic cups, instant coffee. We were disappointed.

Big issue over returning park key. They need to please their customers instead of other way around. Breakfast truly awful. DON'T HAVE IT.
