Reviewed Sep 13, 2026John und Amy waren absolut zuvorkommend und sehr freundlich! Wir haben uns von Beginn an sehr wohlgefühlt! Unser Zimmer war geschmackvoll eingerichtet, groß und durch die bodentiefen Fenster mit Blick über die Stadt lichtdurchflutet. Das Frühstück war klasse, für jeden was dabei und ganz nach Belieben frisch zubereitet! Unser absolutes Highlight am Ende unserer Englandreise! Klare Empfehlung!

Reviewed Aug 21, 2026Sehr nettes,freundliches Personal.Die Lage ist toll-in ein paar Minuten ist man im lebhaften Zentrum und am Strand.Der Rückweg ist etwas länger,da man steil bergauf muss.Man hat einen eigenen Stellplatz vor oder hinter dem Hotel. Es gibt einen Kühlschrank im Frühstücksraum, der genutzt werden kann. Außerdem bekommt man dort jederzeit Getränke,frische Milch und Snacks gegen ein kleines Entgeld! Das Frühstück war a la carte,man konnte aber gut kombinieren, neben diversen Heißgetränken standen Saft und Wasser bereit, sowie Obst,Joghurt und Müsli. Wir können es ohne Weiteres empfehlen!

Reviewed Aug 7, 2026Zentrale Lage mit traumhaftem Blick. Wir hatten ein Zimmer im obersten OG mit Meerblick. In 5 Minuten ist man im Zentrum von Newquay und in 10 Minuten am nächstgelegenem Strand. Der kurze Weg ist aber recht steil. Die Zimmer sind hervorragend ausgestattet. Gutes Frühstück mit viel Auswahlmöglichkeit. Freundlich Besitzer. Parken direkt vor oder hinter dem Haus.
Der Straßenlärm der im Sommer stark befahrenen Straße. Ab ca. 5 Uhr morgens mussten wir die Fenster schließen.

Location is very central so perfect for accessing town/beaches. Will definitely be returning and recommending them to anyone heading to Newquay!

Die Besitzer Amy und John stehen bei Fragen usw. gerne unterstützend zur Verfügung. Das Frühstück serviert John, hier kann man unter diversen Angeboten wählen, z.B. das Full Monty mit allem was der Engländer gerne so frühstückt :-)) Wir hatten ein ausreichend großes Zimmer nach vorne mit einem Erker und fast 180° Aussicht u.a. mit Meerblick. Wir haben die Sonnenuntergänge genossen...

Das Frühstück ist klasse und weil wir einen frühen Transfer zum Flughafen hatten, gabs sogar ein kleines Frühstückspacket für unterwegs. Die Lage war für uns ideal, um noch ein bisschen die Strände zu genießen und auch Abends schnell beim Essen zu sein. Zimmer und Bad waren sehr sauber und alles da, was man braucht.

Reviewed May 17, 2026Die Gastgeber Amy und John waren super freundlich und hilfsbereit. Check-In war unkompliziert, man hat auf uns gewartet. Parkplätze waren vor und hinter dem Haus vorhanden. Das Zimmer war mit allem ausgestattet was man brauchte. Das Bad war klein aber sauber und zweckmäßig. Das Bett war bequem und groß. Der Blick zur Stadt und zum Meer war fantastisch. Das Frühstück am Morgen war sehr liebevoll zubereitet. Es gab einige Sachen als Buffet und eine Auswahl an warmem, frisch zubereitetem Frühstück. Der Fußweg in die Stadt und zum Strand waren nur ein paar wenige Minuten. Lage also super. Wenn wir noch einmal in die Gegend kommen, werden wir definitiv wieder hier einkehren.

Reviewed May 11, 2026Geckos rest is a wonderful b&b run by John and Amy, who were fantastic, always friendly chatty helpful and very informative of the local area and sites and attractions further a field, Geckos rest was absolutely spotless downstairs where there is a dining room for breakfast and a room to relax just across with dvds, books, and games, should you wish to have some downtime away from all the walking, which I personally thought was a nice option to have, our room was also spotless and we had a wonderful view, the facilities were very good, our room came with a hairdryer and a fan, we had a really good nights sleep every night of our stay, the breakfast was lovely too We will definitely return again Thank you John and Amy for your fantastic service and making our stay what it was

Vær klar til op-/nedture😉 Meget venligt, imødekommende værtspar, altid klar med hjælp og info. Fri kaffe og te på værelset under hele opholdet. En “trustliste”…..hvis trangen til sødt opstår, kan du hente forskelligt chokolade og skrive værelse nr på listen og afregne ved afrejse. Stort, velsmagende udvalg til morgenmad. Tak for et dejligt ophold☀️.

Reviewed Jan 19, 2026Our stay at Gecko’s Rest was absolutely perfect. Amy and John were so welcoming and went above and beyond to accommodate all our needs, especially at breakfast. I’m gluten free, and every option was suitable for me, which made mornings stress-free and enjoyable. The rooms were spotless, comfortable, and had everything we could possibly need. The location couldn’t be better, just a 3 minute walk into the main town and only 5 minutes to the beach, making it the ideal base for exploring Newquay. They had parking at the front and the rear, and we didn’t struggle for a space once. We couldn’t have asked for a better stay and would highly recommend Gecko’s Rest to anyone visiting.

Ontbijt was matig. Fabrieksbrood. Geen verse jus. Er werd al benauwd gekeken als je om een tweede koffie vroeg. Fruit dat over was van je ontbijt mocht je niet meenemen, maar moest worden betaald. Dit alles werd je op behoorlijk agressieve toon medegedeeld. Zo praat je niet tegen je gasten. Het zijn geen stoute kinderen. Andere mensen kregen ervan langs omdat ze het raam open zouden hebben gezet terwijl de verwarming brandde.

Amy and John are so welcoming and lovely hosts, the breakfasts are fantastic and the rooms clean and comfy, and the B&B is in an absolutely excellent location within a 5 minute walk down into the town!

A bit too strict on visitors and the check-in and breakfast times were quite tight for someone who is on vacation. Also, the backside parking was too tight.
