Such a gem! This is such an awesome place if you are after a base for hinking and all sorts of other activities. Their value for money is unrivalled. Food was delicious, staff was amazing and the Chalets are very nice.

Excellent 3- night stay on a very peaceful and beautifully situated farm property. Great communication before we arrived, prompt help or answers to questions. Great talking to our host and hostess owners. Good meals, plenty of healthy options, great staff. Very warm and comfy beds - it was very, very cold when we arrived! Fun to walk around the property and see all the animals as well.

De prachtige ligging met een geweldig uitzicht! De omgeving om de huisjes, het vriendelijke personeel en het heerlijke eten.De huisjes waren mooi, met een ruime veranda en tuin en we hadden een heerlijk bed. Leuk dat er een snookertafel en tafeltennis aanwezig was

Het sanitair was verouderd. Bij de kinderen stond de douche te laag waardoor we er niet onder konden staan. Verder wel prima en schoon

We verbleven in een mooi huis; het eten is heerlijk en het personeel is heel erg vriendelijk en gastvrij.

Zeer vriendelijk personeel en prachtig gelegen in de champagne vallei. Goed uitgangspunt voor tripjes naar Monks cowl en de champagne vallei. Veel voorzieningen voor kinderen, dieren verzorgen, sporthal, pooltafel, zwembad, piano, schaaktafel, etc. Eten was goed verzorgd.

Er waren ganzen naast de lodge (huisje Rhino) en die maakten ‘S nachts en ochtends vroeg veel herrie. Hoort ook wel bij actieve boerderij.

The staff were wonderful. So helpful, welcoming and accommodating. We really enjoyed their meals in the lovely dining area. We even watched the World Cup final there. Our 10 year-old son loved all of the animals esp. the time he spent riding a pony. Our farm cottage was perfectly appointed and extremely comfortable. Great hikes at nearby Monk's Cowl with spectacular views of Cathedral Peak!

Very beautiful surroundings, lovely atmosphere created by all the active fireplaces and amazing staff. Very helpful with loads of advice on hiking and activities. .

Please just swap out the white lights for more warmer lights in the rooms. It would be much more cozy.

Le personnel était très agréable et aux petits soins, les équipements proposés étaient aussi très complets. Le petit déjeuner était délicieux et les prix pour le dîner sont abordables.

Friendly staff

Sehr geräumiges Haus mit bequemen Betten. Im Wohnbereich ist ein Kamin und große Bodentiefe Fenster mit einem schönen Ausblick in die Berge. Das Personal war super freundlich und sehr hilfsbereit.

Het verblijf in zijn totaliteit. Mooi karakteristiek huisje met alle benodigdheden. Op een farm(ja je hoort de ganzen snachts wel, maar hoort erbij) goed restaurant, voorzieningen voor de kids (voetbal, volleybal, Pool, zwembad etc) met superfijn personeel voor wie geen vraag teveel was. Leuke ingang naar Drakensberg, omgeving veel te doen.

Het meubilair was gedateerd of niet comfortabel. Ik miste ook een ligbed in de tuin of weide.

Prijs-kwaliteit is goed. Als iets ontbreekt of defect is wordt t snel opgepakt. Maar er mogen ook wat dingen vervangen worden.

Wondetful stay in the country close to the Champagne Valley sightings. Superb for our kids of 6, 8 and 10 with plenty of things to see and do on the farm property (pool, soccer field, goats,, oramge tree, ...). We stayed in a 2 bedroom lodge with a nice patio and garden, farthest to the main lodge. Wooden furniture, has a very specific atmosphere. Dinner in cosy rooms close to the wood fire. Young kids could do morning horseriding. Spa facilitirs offered and that was more than perfect. We felt very welcome and the staff was friendly, caring and helpful. I would recommend for family stays defintately.

If I need to comment on something then I would say the batchrooms in our family lodge could get a small facelift and the menu would benefit from few items little bit healthier/low carb.

Beautiful farm style accommodation. We stay at chalet Zulu. Spacious open space, with a small, covered patio. Close to the main building with reception and restaurant. Breakfast was very good, nice variety. Coffee was really good (I am a coffee drinker, so, this was a nice surprise). Staff are super friendly.

Matrass was not great - extremely soft. For people like us, with back problems, it was really hard to sleep. My back was sore every morning. There is a big problem with damp. If you have allergy to mold, do not book Zulu chalet and double check with them about other rooms.

I do feel the Ardmore Cottage needed a bit of TLC. There were big gaps in the window frames and the door . The wind came straight through . The farm itself was lovely .

Staff are friendly, good food and nice location.

The chimney is connected to the upstairs main bedroom. I didn't realise this until I went upstairs and found the bedroom filled with smoke. The bunk-bed room could also be improved by adding more tables or shelves for storage, as well as additional wall hooks for hanging clothes.

Ardmore is good value for money. The food was excellent and all the staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful. It has a wonderful, relaxed atmosphere despite it being a working farm. It is also lovely that they allow dogs and provide rooms/accommodation that have enclosed fencing. I’m sure we will return to Ardmore and we will certainly recommend it.

Dutifully world charm

The staff were exceptionally welcoming and friendly. The bungalow was beautifully appointed and the restaurant at Ardmore offers deliciously prepared food for both breakfast and dinner. The farm setting was tranquil and peaceful and it was a joy to feed the animals. The rare Ground Hornbills even made an appearance!

An absolutely incredible stay! The entire environment and setting are so peaceful—a true wellness atmosphere with stunning mountain views, scenic surroundings, and beautiful animals. It is exactly as advertised: what you see is what you get, and more. ​The staff skills are excellent, and the manager was exceptionally warm and welcoming. To top it off, the food was incredibly excellent. I also have to commend the team for their honesty: I accidentally left my bag in the lounge, and it was safely returned to me. I am very happy and highly recommend this beautiful place!

I left feeling very happy and highly recommend this facility. Just as a minor head's-up for future guests: because it’s a beautiful rural spa farm environment, you should expect some nature.

Very warm welcome, lovely guest house, a great place to relax with lots of activities on offer also. We will return if visiting the area in future.

Bathroom needed a bit of TLC

The pre-check-in process made arrival effortless, and we were warmly welcomed by exceptionally friendly staff who explained all the facilities and activities. The room was spacious, beautifully equipped, and very comfortable, with a cozy fireplace, a large jacuzzi, and an impressive shower. The breakfast offered an excellent variety, while the tea garden, dinner options, and honesty bar added to the overall experience. The spa was outstanding (booking is essential), and the friendly resident cat made the guest farm feel like home from the moment we arrived. Everything was well organised and exceeded our expectations.

Wow, cannot even find the words to describe this place. The place itself is so peaceful and beautiful. But the best thing about this place are people who are working there. They are all so professional and kind. Especially the guys at the reception were enormously kind and helpful. The only regret we have that we stayed only one night. Could easily imagine to spend a whole week there! Such a cute place with a luxury service, delicious dinners and breakfasts. Recommend 10/10!! Would love to come back one day.

We felt at home from the moment we arrived at Ardmore. The farm is beautiful and the views are exceptional! We loved feeding the animals, the pony ride was a true highlight for our youngest, we were all playing table tennis - just having excellent quality family time together! The food was great too!

We loved everything!

Fantastic spot- breakfasts and dinners were varied and excellent quality. Kids loved the free horse rides in the morning. The working farm atmosphere was an enriching experience.

Deck at the cottage needs to be repaired. Would be great if the dam was better maintained for fishing.

The shower head was a bit old so the water was going everywhere

The lodging. The guest room was so lovely with the thatched roof. The bed and bedding were wonderful. It was so fun have towel rolled up in to 2 birds and having a piece of chocolate!

The tile floors were extremely cold. We didn’t feel warm. We would suggest that you put rugs in the rooms and bathroom to offset the cold of the tile.

The location was excellent. The facilities were superb and the room was brilliant. Very good choice of evening meals and tasty

The staff is very friendly and helpful. The area is beautiful to be in!

Unfortunately the photos is not a true representation of what it really looks like. The place is not dirty, but also not as clean as we would have wanted, for example the shower is very mouldy and the walls are dirty. The overall picture is not bad, but the smaller details are not well kept. The water pump was also right next to out cottage, which is very disturbing when you're looking for some peace and quiet. And our cottage does not have a mountain view as the description said.

Ardmore Guest Farm was a exactly what our family of 5 needed for a long weekend in the berg. It was close to other locations like Champagnes Sports Resort, restaurants and coffee shops. The accommodation was spacious and warm, with loads of extra blankets and heaters for the autumn chill. Our 3 kids loved the property, with all the animals to see and feed, and the complimentary daily pony rides made the stay exceptionally memorable for them. There is even a library where you can borrow books during your stay, and plenty of other entertainment including a jungle gym and trampoline, table tennis and pool, a paddle court, a room packed with kids toys, books and games, and beautiful walking opportunities. The breakfast was generous and tasty. We will most definitely be back!

The views, staff and food were great

The inverter on the patio was a little noisy and the dirt road of about 3 kms to property not the greatest if you don’t have an off-road vehicle.

Friendly staff, cozy and clean rooms, lovely fireplace. We loved seeing all the animals on the farm. Good security and safe premises. Great location. Amazing hiking paths.

The food was good however the menu needs more variety. The desserts were not the best tasting. I would've liked to see more freshly baked pastries and common menu items like Alfredo pasta, roasted veg, pizza etc. The farm has a surplus of citrus and would be a great add on if welcome baskets of fruit and veg were kept in each room or fresh orange juice delivered.

My kids loved everything we paid for 2 night stay for their honeymoon.

The staff was great everyone was very helpful and friendly particularly Mandoza was a great help and very engaged with guests. They had a lot of information about the surrounding activities. The breakfast was good.

The facilities are really run down from the small museum to the recreational area. The upholstery standing around looks terrible and dirty we did not want to sit on it. The rooms are large with a lot of potential but are bland and look very unwelcoming, the curtain in our bedroom was turned into a bundle upon arrival, the walls seem to need a coat of paint and there is clearly some maintenance that needs to be done. Our bed was to single beds made into a king size which is the norm for a lot of guesthouses but was really uncomfortable as the one mattress was really stiff and the other one needs to be replaced. The shower had black mold. To the owner we would like to say your staff is absolutely wonderful and your place has a lot of potential and had a lot of guests when we stayed there but maintenance is really need and some upgrading. We hope that this review will not be seen as breaking down Ardmore Guest farm but rather as constructive criticism and we truly hope when we visit in the future that attention has been given to upgrading and maintenance.

The team welcomes you as if you are part of the family! I was very happy with all that was offered, breakfast was lovely, the farm is beautiful, the location is convenient, the service was impeccable and our entire stay was stress free.

An ideal stay for travelers! The location is perfect, making it very easy to travel to the neighboring valleys. The staff was wonderful and incredibly helpful throughout our stay. Thank You Rust and Mendoza. We also truly enjoyed the breakfast—it was delicious and very rich. One of the highlights was the magical connection with the farm animals. In the mornings, we were pleasantly woken up by birdsong, and we even spotted a Southern Ground Hornbill! We would love to come back again.

Farm lifestyle, nature, the way they welcomed us, the staff from security, reception to the restaurant staff, we were so happy. This is the perfect place to spend time with your friends and family

I feel like they didn't tell more about fun they have

The service was excellent. The staff are very friendly and they go beyond the standard 3 star service. They assisted me in every need or query I had. They even supplied a place for me to have a braai and spared no trouble to assist me.

Venue is ideally located for exploring the region with it's attractions yet still far away from the main road to give you that country peace and quite. So staying in and relaxing at the chalets or driving out to the local attractions is good either way.

There is nothing that was not t our liking, our favourite stop-over and longer stay venue in the Northern Berg.

The staff was very friendly.They went out of their way to make us feel very special and were helpful at all times. The meals were delicious with attention paid to detail to make it look very nice. The Guest farm has a very quiet atmosphere. If you long for peace and quiet with tons of fresh air to inhale,go to Ardmore!

The staff is very helpful and informative the wine and chocolate pairing ontop of the hill watching the Sunset was epic.. Breakfast and dinner was really good and not badly priced.

There was a bee colony that had nested by my front door that was a bit uncomfortable moving in and out with all the bees luckily none of us is allergic.
