B&B on Buckingham Guest House

The location suited us perfectly. The bed was so comfy, the room offered all the necessary amenities for a great stay and the breakfast was outstanding!

On arrival the room did smell a little of smoke.

The bed is really comfy.⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Had everything we needed. I love the shower open, no need to freeze while warming the water.

Hubby had a cold shower in the evening, not on purpose. And bedside light, needs a new bulb, just a few small details.

Gavin is a gracious host. The area is safe and easily accessible. The room assigned to us was more than sufficient. It was comfortable and clean. The breakfast was exceptional. thank you Gavin!

The house and hospitality of the host was exceptional. The rooms were very clean and well equiped. The host put some heaters before we arrived since it was very cold. The whole house is very curated. The location is very convenient to move around the city of Johannesburg. The fact that there is parking slot was very appreciated. The breakfast cooked by Gavin himself was excellent. Additional mention to his dogs that are very very sweet.

The room was excellent

This was a lovely place and Gavin is an excellent host. As I was there on a holiday day (Freedom Day), he helped me come up with ideas for things to to before my flight back later that day. He also had a spare travel charger I could use as my 'world' adapter didn't have the right pins for SA. He was also very accomodating on breakfast times as I was doing the Delta parkun and wasn't sure on if I would make it back on time, it's about a 30 min walk or a bit quicker if you jog. The area is very quiet and peaceful and you will probably be out like a light.

I really can't think of anything I didn't like or didn't have.

I loved the homey aesthetics of the place. The breakfast was amazing and I loved the bed in my unit, it was so comfortable, I wish I could have stayed in the bed the whole day!

Gavin is a fantastic host—warm, friendly, and incredibly accommodating. He’s also a talented chef, and the breakfast he prepared for us was absolutely superb. The property itself is beautifully maintained and clearly well cared for. His two Dalmatians are a delightful bonus and add great charm to the stay. For BASI Pilates teachers, the B&B is ideally located just a 2-minute walk from the BASI Pilates Academy Johannesburg. The area feels safe for walking during the day, though it’s best to avoid walking after dark, as is generally recommended in Johannesburg.

The room I stayed in could do with a bit of a refresh, as it felt slightly tired compared to some of the other rooms—my colleagues’ rooms, for example, were superb, modern, and very fresh. That said, my room had its own charm: it was located at the back of the property and featured a small private garden area with outdoor furniture, which was a really lovely touch.

A thoroughly enjoyable stay at this lovely B&B, it garners high feedback scores and rightly so. We were upgraded and had the added benefit of a well equipped kitchen, the accommodation overall was to a high standard with reliable Wi-Fi. Gavin was a consummate and very engaging host, his cooked breakfasts were varied and delicious. The family dalmatian's were great company, you do have to love/like/tolerate dogs, but they possess excellent temperaments, and handy security to boot. Nice location, walking distance to dining and shopping options. We would definitely rebook/return...

Great service and freindliness from Gavin, lovely private room opening onto the garden. Quiet and relaxing and convenient for the location I had to go to. Gavin does a lovely healthy breakfast in comfortable surroundings.

Great stay at this guest house. The facilities were excellent—clean, comfortable, and very well looked after. Breakfast was amazing and definitely a highlight of the stay. I as met by Gavin at the gate when I arrived. My room was warm, comfortable and was equipped with everything I needed 😌 I had an excellent night. At breakfast I was waited on and served like a queen. All in all an exceptional experience. Thank you Gavin 😊

Home away from home.

Die Begrüßung an der Unterkunft durch Gavin ist sehr herzlich und persönlich. Das Apartment war sehr geräumig und mit allem ausgestattet was man braucht. Beim Frühstück werden persönliche Wünsche berücksichtigt und es wird direkt frisch für jeden zubereitet. Es schmeckt ausgezeichnet. Die beiden Dalmatiner, die auf dem Grundstück leben, sind zuckersüß und verleihen dem Ort etwas majestätisches. Wir konnten ohne Probleme unser Gepäck zwischenlagern, während wir auf Safari im Kruger waren und haben bei unsere Rückkehr genau das gleiche Zimmer bekommen. Es war einfach wundervoll!

Very comfortable stay.

Our stay was fantastic, so welcoming, secure and clean. It had a great homely feel to it which made it perfect for relaxing. The cooked breakfast was s brilliant experience and chatting with the hosts was a really nice touch also, they're generous and attentive, the little things like hand written information notes and the folding of towels can't be overlooked.

We had a perfect stay! Gavin was a wonderful host and helpful with everything we needed. The B&B is located in a great neighborhood, just a short walk from shops and restaurants. Our room was spotless upon arrival and was equipped with everything we needed like for example a TV, fridge and kitchen appliances. The bed was also extremely comfortable! Gavins beautiful and friendly dogs made our stay even more special. Additionally the breakfast was fantastic. I can’t recommend this place highly enough.

It was such a prime location and Gavin facilitated our evening there so comfortably. We came for a night for our friends bachelorette evening. He allowed us to set up a few decorations and have some pre drinks and games before heading out for the evening. The location was perfect for 6 of us to stay, with two rooms close to the brides suit. We had the most amazing breakfast the next morning as well, homemade muesli, cut fruit, delicious coffee and cooked breakfast - all beautifully presented! Thank you Gavin, for your hospitality.
