Hôtel en front de mer ! Nous avons pu aller à notre cours de surf à pied en longeant l’océan (15min). Avoir son propre bungalow est chouette, ils sont plutôt spacieux. Le petit déjeuné est super !! Le meilleur de notre séjour ! La piscine est bien entretenue ! Le personnel est extrêmement gentil ! J’avais oublié ma gourde filtrante en partant et ils m’ont envoyé un message pour me prévenir et me l’ont apporté en scooter, adorable !!

Il n’y avait pas de moustiquaire, heureusement qu’on avait la nôtre.

The room lacks essential furniture, such as nightstands and a wardrobe, and the lighting is unpleasant. With a little thoughtful effort, the rooms could be made very comfortable and pleasant to stay in. The beach area is cluttered with a hodgepodge of dilapidated chairs and lacks proper sun loungers or comfortable seating; it is merely a remnant of what used to be.

Beautiful, calm and very comfortable. The staff are so lovely and wow the food!!!! A great place to relax away from the hustle of Arugam bay, spot elephants along the road and go for surf lessons.

Die Lage war toll, das Personal unglaublich freundlich und nett. Das Essen hat uns sehr gut geschmeckt und wir haben die Zurückgezogenheit genossen.

Als wir dort waren gab es viel Wind, wofür die Unterkunft ja nichts konnte

ארוחת הבוקר היה נחמדה וטוב שכך כי אין מסעדות אחרות באזור. אך גם זה לא פיצה על הקושי העיקרי שהיה המיקום והחוף הנטוש והרוחות החזקות שלא אפשרו להנות ממנו.

הזמנו מלון בארוגום ביי וקיבלנו מלון מבודד חצי שעה נסיעה מארוגום ביי ולעיתים אפילו היינו צריכים להמתין יותר מחצי שעה רק שנהג מונית/טוקטוק יגיע מארוגום ביי אל המלון ואז עוד חצי שעה נסיעה - סה"כ שעה נסיעה כדי להגיע למסעדה הקרובה או לחוף בו הילדים לקחו שיעורי גלישה. הרוח החזקה רוב שעות היום (סוף אוגוסט) גרמה לכך שגם טיול לאורך החוף היה לא אפשרי, בטח ובטח גם לא כניסה למים הסוערים. למרות שראינו עוד מבקרים, האווירה במלון ובסביבתו היה של מקום נטוש ולא מתוחזק. הזמנו לארבעה לילות והצלחנו להשאר רק יומיים ואז עזבנו ולקחנו מלון אחר שבאמת נמצא בארוגום ביי.

Die Unterkunft ist absolut ruhig gelegen. Bestens geeignet für Gäste, die Ruhe und Privatheit abseits vom trubeligen Arugam Bay suchen. Sie liegt direkt am Strand mit einem herrlichen Pool. Das Personal war superfreundlich und hilfsbereit und hat uns jeden Wunsch von den Augen abgelesen. Das Essen im zugehörigen Restaurant ist fantastisch, das Frühstück frisch, reichhaltig und abwechslungsreich. Der Surfspot direkt vor der Anlage existiert leider nicht mehr, aber zum nahegelegenen Sport Potuvil sind es nur 2 Minuten mit dem TukTuk oder 10 Minuten zu Fuss.

Die Zimmer sind sehr einfach und qualifizieren sich jetzt nicht für einen Style-Award. Aber alles ist sehr sauber.

Second séjour dans cet hôtel, et toujours le même enchantement. Le personnel est hyper gentil, merci à vous tous. L'emplacement est génial. Cette année le spot de surf de pottuvil fonctionnait très bien. Les repas proposés sont très bons. Bref j'espère pouvoir revenir une 3eme fois.

Il est vrai que l'extérieur nécessiterait une remise en état.

La pulizia delle camere è terribile: ci sono insetti ovunque e pulci nel materasso. Le lenzuola erano sporche e ho trovato delle macchie di sangue. Il pavimento della camera è rotto, il bagno ha il wc sporco e tutto è molto vecchio. Ho dovuto pulire personalmente le due stanze che avevo prenotato per trascorrere quattro notti. Nonostante avessi richiesto di poter lasciare l'hotel e ottenere un rimborso. La struttura è trascurata e molti servizi non funzionano. Si vede che manca una persona di riferimento che si occupi degli ospiti e della manutenzione dell'hotel, nelle aree comuni ci sono molte cose rotte e oggetti abbondanti. Il prezzo che si paga non è assolutamente adeguato e le foto pubblicate non corrispondono alla realtà. Se volete trascorrere un soggiorno in un posto con un livello di pulizia insufficiente, non optate per questo hotel! State attenti perché, se prenotate e pagate, non verrete rimborsati.

Bungalow et hôtel sommaire. Les photos Booking sont améliorées par l IA, c’est dommage. Manque de rangement dans les chambres. Je trouve vraiment dommage que cet hôtel ne soit pas entretenu par le propriétaire. Salle extérieure non exploitée, coussins de transat non remplacés, manque d entretien dans les lieux communs. Pas de brise vue autour de l hôtel (contrairement aux photos).

The pool was lovely and it was right next to Whiskey Point beach which was beautiful with massive waves. The staff were really friendly and good with the kids and went over and above to help us. The air con in the rooms was great.

It was quite far away from Arugam Bay which was not a problem for us as we had a driver, there weren’t any other options for places to eat in walking distance but the restaurant food was good. A fridge in the room would have been nice so we could cool water and drinks etc. The whole resort is quite run down and could be tidied up, it does not look the the photos anymore.

Een relatief duur hotel voor Sri Lanka. Je mag hier wat luxe voor verwachten, maar totaal geen luxe! De houten ligbedden vielen bijna uit elkaar er lagen geen matrassen op.

Hôtel sur la plage. Un decor de paradis, un personnel extraordinairement sympa et aux petits soins, des repas faits maison succulents. On a adoré cet endroit. A 3 mn de marche sur la plage de Whisky Point et 15 mn de marche sur la plage pour super spot de surf.

Schöne Anlage aber schon sehr heruntergekommen. Sieht nicht aus wie auf den Bildern. Staff alle mega nett aber Preis-Leistung leider absolut nicht gerechtfertigt.

My most rewarding experience here was the absolutely amazing sunrise. It was just a one minute walk from our room. The beach and pool were both clean. The food was great, they were able to deliver to utmost satisfaction. The rooms were cooled well when we arrived and it was rewarding after a long drive to get there. they communicated on our way on the changed check-in times. It was my first time in Arugambay, and if I visit again, I would stay here again.

The access to the location from the main road was a bit difficult. So its better to get instructions from them.

De personeelsleden waren fantastisch, ze hebben er echt voor gezorgd dat wij ontzettend genoten hebben. Elke dag serveerden zij een fantastisch, divers ontbijt. Elke avond hebben wij bij het resort gegeten, grote porties en heerlijk eten. Ga zo door mannen!

Distance from workable surf breaks .. my transport to peanut Farm maybe 30 - 40 mins in tuk tuk - 5000lkr. So if I had no transport and surfing was my motivation Id stay in Abay. I heard whilst there whiskey point no longer breaks. If after a place surrounded by restaurants/ infrastructure then again go Abay. There remains confusion on the accommodation - Restaurant side is near pool and restaurant. Garden side is outside main accommodation across the road.

Herrlich unkompliziert, direkt am Meer und zu 100 % in lokaler Hand! ​Ich hatte eine tolle Zeit im Paper Moon Kudils in Urani! Schon der vom Hotel organisierte Flughafentransfer samt Surfboard lief absolut reibungslos. ​Ich hatte ein Häuschen auf der Restaurantseite mit Klimaanlage und Ventilator. Es ist einfach gehalten, aber erstaunlich groß – vor allem das Badezimmer. Toll, ist auch die große, überdachte Terrasse mit gemütlichem Sessel im Schatten. Die schöne Anlage liegt direkt am Meer und hat tolle Plätze zum Entspannen unter Palmen. ​Das unglaublich liebevolle Team liest einem jeden Wunsch von den Augen ab. Das Essen war extrem gut, der Preis sehr fair und die Portionen riesig. Toll war auch, dass die Küche auf jeden individuellen Wunsch problemlos eingegangen ist. ​Besonders unterstützenswert finde ich zudem, dass die Unterkunft komplett in sri-lankanischer Hand ist. Eine tolle, ehrliche Unterkunft mit riesigem Herz! Ich werde wieder kommen!

Nous quittons cet hôtel avec le cœur lourd. Dès notre arrivée, nous n’avons pas été considérées comme de simples clientes, mais comme des membres de leur famille. Ils nous ont accueillies avec une gentillesse et une bienveillance incroyables, en nous traitant comme des princesses. La cuisine sri-lankaise était absolument délicieuse. Ils ont même préparé des plats spécialement pour nous, toujours avec beaucoup d’attention et de générosité. Tout au long de notre voyage, ils ont été présents pour nous conseiller, nous aider et s’assurer que nous passions le meilleur séjour possible. L’hôtel est un véritable petit coin de paradis, au bord de la plage. Tout est impeccable, très propre et parfaitement entretenu. Mais ce qui rend cet endroit vraiment unique, ce sont les personnes qui y travaillent. Leur sourire, leur bonté et leur immense cœur ont rendu ce séjour inoubliable. Nous avons vécu bien plus que des vacances : nous avons fait une magnifique rencontre humaine. Merci pour tout l’amour, les attentions et les souvenirs que vous nous avez offerts. Vous allez énormément nous manquer, et partir aujourd’hui nous brise le cœur. Nous espérons revenir un jour, car une partie de notre cœur restera toujours ici. ❤️

Het personeel was zeer lief en het eten was geweldig. Als je iets vroeg, deden ze het. We vroegen een bepaalde drank en ze gingen die speciaal inkopen. Onze checkout was heel vroeg, toch maakten ze vers ontbijt om 06h30. Prachtige kust. We hadden echt een leuk verblijf!

Het domein is heel minimalistisch, de huisjes erg basic en gebied rond zwembad mag iets opgefrist worden. Ligging is 20 tal min van Arugambay, wat per tuk tuk ongeveer 4500 LKR kost (enkel). Op zich geen probleem als je van rust houdt, want is prachtige kust.

Very quiet and calm place, away from the main road & adjacent to the beach. Ideal for relaxing. It has a nice little pool. The foods are tastier and there are plenty of varieties. The food was served at the exact time which was scheduled.

I liked everything about this place!! Kimi and Chris made our stay so comfortable and lovely, they helped me manage my frnds birthday and the food was veryyy tasty!!! (You should try Chris’ special sandwich it’s off menu 😋) Amazing place very zen and peaceful and we were so happy to work remotely from there and to just relax at the same time☺️ Highly recommend 🙏🏼

I have been there many times. The staff are very friendly, and the location is beautiful as well. Their food is awesome.

Checked in late but Kimithan and the team were incredibly attentive and made us feel right at home. The pool, fresh breeze and peaceful surroundings were exactly what we needed after a 6 hour drive from Colombo, and the morning sunrise with a top notch breakfast made it even better. Exceeded our expectations and we are already planning to come back for a longer stay.

A short drive from the main Arugam Bay strip but feels like a completely different world. One night wasn't enough... The beachfront location, the sound of the waves and the STARS ✨ at night were something else, we sat outside just staring at the sky. The food genuinely surprised us, the chicken curry with rice was one of the best we had on the trip and the carrot sambol was a first for us, tangy and absolutely delicious.

Exact place for a holiday. Very quite and very friendly staff. Really enjoyed my holiday there.

Wifi is extremly slow. At the beach in front of the hotel you cannot swim, waves are dangerous and the beach falls off 2 meters. You can walk 10 minutes and swim there. The surfspot Whiskey point does not exist anymore, surfteachers told us that the sand eroded. So dont go there if you want to surf, but to relax. But Arugam bay is close by tuktuk, you can surf there.

They havent room service.you have to come to dining area for bed tea even. And the pool was not enough clean.. they took some time to clean it up.. we chose this because of swimming pool.. 🥹

Die Unterkunft ist direkt am Meer (allerdings kann man an der Stelle nicht baden, da die Wellen sehr stark sind). Neben dem Pool gibt es eine Überdachung unter der man sitzen und aufs Meer schauen kann. Das Frühstück war gut und das Personal freundlich. Wir konnten unser Tuktuk in der Anlage parken. Insgesamt hatten wir eine schöne Zeit, man kann in der Nähe Surfen und Lagoon Safaris machen.

Este lugar ha sido, sin duda, lo mejor de nuestro viaje por Sri Lanka. Un espacio con todas las comodidades, pero a la vez auténtico, conectado con la naturaleza y con la cultura local. Nos ha permitido vivir una experiencia real, cercana y muy especial. Queremos hacer una mención especial a Kimi y Raja, que nos han cuidado con una atención y calidez increíbles. Siempre con una sonrisa, pendientes de todo, nos han hecho sentir en casa desde el primer día. La comida es buenísima, casera, sabrosa y a muy buen precio. Además, organizan actividades como el lagoon safari que fue una experiencia inolvidable. Vinimos para quedarnos solo unos días y acabamos alargando la estancia porque no queríamos irnos. Nos ha dado mucha pena marcharnos… pero sabemos que volveremos. Gracias por hacer de este lugar un rincón tan especial.

The environment and view were very calm and pleasant, and we did not experience any disturbances. The pool was nice, though a bit small. However, I was quite disappointed with the breakfast, as the so-called English breakfast only consisted of four slices of bread with jam, butter, and an omelet, which felt very limited. I have stayed in many hotels across Sri Lanka, and I personally feel that the price here is far too high compared to the facilities provided. I paid $100 for two nights (around Rs. 31,000), which is not reasonable for what was offered. The room had no room service, the toilets were not properly cleaned, and even basic amenities such as shampoo, soap, fresh towels, mosquito repellent, and a hairdryer were missing. I also feel disappointed with Booking.com. It seems the prices were boosted to gain more income, as on the same day I checked again, the rate had dropped to Rs. 6,000 per night, which was shocking. Furthermore, the photos shown online did not match the reality—the property looked poorly maintained and very different from what was advertised. Overall, the only positive point was the staff, who were friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, due to this experience, I have decided not to trust Booking.com in the future.

It's a very quiet place where you can relax and it's very close to the beach were you can have a nice walk. If you like to surf is a very great place, not crowded at all. The swimming pool is great! Everything is clean and the room we had was spaciuos with big bathroom. The breakfast was really nice, with fresh juice, some toast and eggs at your choice (scrambled, omelette, fried) It was very kind to have free bottled water and coffee available at any moment.

We had a blast! Mr Raja and his team made our experience amazing. From the comfy beds to the warmth of the beach, we loved our stay. The staff prepares homey food and we loved the juices too. The beach is so so close and the location is so peaceful but also just a tuk tuk away from the active city center. This was our fav stay in city Lanka.

Everything was amazing, just advice to take the rooms with the pool/restaurant if you want to be closer to the beach.

This was the worst and most disgraceful hotel experience of my life. What is advertised as a “resort” is pure deception – we were placed in crumbling, filthy rooms outside the hotel grounds, across a public road infested with stray dogs. The conditions were beyond unacceptable: cockroaches, ant nests, geckos, and gecko droppings on the bedsheets every single day. The sheets were ripped and filthy, the furniture broken, and there was thick dirt and dust under the beds. It was impossible to feel safe or clean in such an environment. The swimming pool was dangerous – three children cut their feet on broken tiles. Out of the two rooms we paid for, one was so horrific we could not use it, leaving it empty. We are a family of four with two children, and all of us ended up sleeping together in one room because the kids were terrified by the state of the other. I contacted the manager directly, offering a fair solution: pay only for one night and refund the rest, or at least return 50% so we could move elsewhere. He never replied. Even Booking.com tried to contact the hotel to reach an agreement, but the hotel refused. This place is not just bad – it is a scam, a health hazard, and a humiliation for anyone booking in good faith. Avoid this disgraceful property at all costs.

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour à Paper Moon. L’endroit est magnifique, très calme et parfaitement situé, loin de l’agitation touristique. L’accueil du patron et de ses fils a été exceptionnel : ils sont attentionnés, disponibles et savent mettre une touche d’humour qui rend l’expérience encore plus agréable. Si vous recherchez la tranquillité et de superbes plages, c’est l’adresse idéale. En revanche, si vous préférez un lieu animé avec de nombreux restaurants et magasins à proximité, ce n’est pas l’endroit qui vous conviendra.

Emplacement en bord de plage. Plage idéale pour se baigner à 500 mètres de l'hotel car la plage juste devant peut etre un peu dangereuse. Toutes les personnes sont adorables, une mention spéciale à RAJA qui a été très gentil. L'hotel se compose de 2 séries de bungalow, nous étions vers la piscine et je pense que c'est beaucoup plus agréable que les bungalows plus excentrés. Pour information, les bungalows de 11 à 20 sont dans partie où se situe le restaurant et la piscine. Les bungalows 11 à 14 sont hypers bien situés. Le spot de surf devant l'hotel ne fonctionne plus depuis 2021, il faut aller à 500 mètres environ ou à Arugam Bay en tuk tuk. Nous préférons le calme de cet hotel aux complexes de Arugam Bay. Pour les personnes qui souhaitent être au calme, emplacement idéal. Nous avons passé un très bon séjour, et nous nous sentions comme à la maison. Merci encore pour votre accueil.

Das Personal ist sehr liebenswert, speziell Raja ist ein Herzensmensch! Das Essen ist lecker und preislich unschlagbar. Frühstück, Wasser, Kaffee und Tee sind komplett gratis. Die Lage ist für alle Ruhe Suchenden perfekt.

Generell ist alles in die Jahre gekommen und brauch dringend eine Renovierung aber für diesen Preis kann man auch kein Luxus Resort erwarten.

Absoluut ondermaatse prijs kwaliteit. Vuil, faciliteiten in verval en gedateerd. Voor dit geld mag je echt wel veel meer verwachten. Een van de weinige hotels die met volledige voorafbetaling werkt en nu is ook duidelijk waarom. Ondanks drie nachten betaald zijn we na 1 nacht vertrokken. Nog nooit eerder meegemaakt in 30 jaar wereldwijd reizen. Als je het wil aankaarten kan dit enkel via messaging op booking en daar krijg je enkel een standaard koude reactie verwijzend naar cancellation policy. Ik stond nochtans open voor een wederzijds compromis maar daar reageerden ze zelfs niet meer op. Zeer zeer onprofessioneel en onpersoonlijke koude aanpak.

Leuke plek op een heerl rustige locatie. Als dat is wat je zoekt, zeker een aanrader! Het personeel is erg vriendelijk en behulpzaam.

We hebben bij aankomst onze verwachtingen wel een beetje moeten bijstellen. Je merkt dat de foto's al enkele jaren geleden zijn genomen. Maar zeker prijs kwaliteit de moeite waard! We hadden zelf niet goed door dat de "garden view" kamers wat verder liggen. Hiervoor moesten we een stukje over straat, dit lieten we onze dochters van 7 en 8 jaar natuurlijk niet alleen doen. Wat maakt dat je wel wat vaker over en weer loopt.

Sono state assegnate camere che non erano nello stesso posto del ristorante/piscina ma a circa 3 min a piedi fuori dal resort. Questo andrebbe specificato al momento della prenotazione. Le camere sono piccole e spesso sporche di insetti o sabbia, un attimo di attenzione in più fa la differenza.

We stayed at Paper Moon Kudils for 10 nights and really enjoyed our time here. The accommodation is simple and comfortable — the bungalows are a bit dated but perfectly fine for sleeping, especially since we spent most of our time outdoors soaking in the stunning natural surroundings. The location has beautiful views of the beach and has a swimming pool. It’s a great spot to relax, swim, and explore the area. Getting around was super easy with tuk tuks always on hand to take us into Arugam Bay within minutes. What really stood out was the staff — incredibly friendly, welcoming, and always happy to help. They went out of their way to accommodate any request and made our stay feel relaxed and easy. If you're looking for a laid back beach stay with great service and a beautiful setting this is a great choice.

I booked a triple room at Paper Moon Kudils Hotel and was extremely disappointed with the quality and service. The room had only one small bottle of water for three people, which is unacceptable. The air conditioner didn’t work properly, making it very uncomfortable. The bathroom only had a small bar of soap – no shampoo, no other essentials. The bed was broken, and there were dirty clothes left in the room, which shows a serious lack of cleanliness. I even saw a cockroach, which was disgusting and unacceptable in any hotel. The breakfast was very poor – just two slices of bread and an omelet, with no juice, tea, or coffee. Overall, the experience was terrible. The hotel does not offer the basic standards expected for the price. I would not recommend staying here unless major improvements are made

Cette resort est très mal entretenue. Le personnel ne nettoie pas les transats de la piscine recouverts d'excrements de Corbeaux, les tables du restaurant ne sont pas nettoyées, et la chambre est également très sale. Tous les jours, il y avait des cafards dans la chambre, les étagères étaient poussiéreuses, le sol également. Les chambres ont vu sur un mur en parpin ou des barbelés. Il n'y a pas de spot de surf comme indiqué dans la description. Whisky point ne fonctionne plus depuis 3 ans, en raison d'un banc de sable qui a été déplacé. Il faut marcher 2,5km pour accéder a Pottuvil surf point. Nous devions rester 20 jours, nous sommes partis au bout de 3 jours. Nous avons demandé un remboursement ou un geste commercial. Nous n'avons jamais obtenu de réponse de la part du propriétaire. Nous deconseillons vivement cette resort.
