山吹房間超棒，除了室內湯屋還有專用的室外湯屋在後院小丘上。

開車的話，出飯店左轉往商店街的路很窄，建議右轉繞一下。

The hotel was very clean and well maintained overall, although the rooms felt a bit dated but in a good way.

The room was amazing. The two type of hot springs was great and we had fun trying out both. There were no misses with the Kaiseki dinner—even my very picky 12-yr-old had no complaints! I got some sort of kabosu highball that I’m still dreaming about.

Breakfast was a bit under seasoned to our taste.

The room did not match the photos advertised on the website or Booking.com. It looks like a former public bath that was converted into a villa, leaving the layout feeling very strange. The outdoor bath was completely out of order and had no hot water. Inside, while the room was generally clean, the pillows had a strong odor and offered zero support. Furthermore, we were not informed that the villa spans three floors. Because the unrenovated bathroom is located on the third floor and has a very bizarre, unsettling layout, we actually felt unsafe and uncomfortable walking upstairs at night. The dinner set is very small, although it is tasty.

予約した杏の部屋のリビングには窓がなく、メインで過ごす部屋なので、息が詰まる感じでした。

I chose this hotel primarily for its hot spring experience, but unfortunately my stay was disappointing. There was a persistent urine smell coming from the bathroom sink throughout my stay. I reported it to the staff, and while they sprayed an air freshener, the effect lasted only about three hours before the odor returned. The underlying issue was never resolved. The hot spring itself was enjoyable, but it was difficult to fully relax because every time I returned to the room, the unpleasant smell was still there. Since the bathroom is such an important part of the overall experience at a hot spring hotel, this significantly affected my stay. At checkout, the staff apologized and gave me a jam gift set as a gesture of goodwill, which I appreciated. However, I do not feel that this adequately made up for the inconvenience. I hope the hotel addresses this issue so future guests can enjoy the experience without the same problem.

It was well-located in Yufuin, with convenient access to the main shopping street and Lake Kirin. The dinner and breakfast courses were enjoyable with the mountain view from the individual dining rooms. The room was spacious and the indoor and outdoor onsen were enjoyable at our convenience.

One server/ staff seemed rather impatient during our dinner course and seemed to rush us to finish every course. This was after we wanted to try the complementary alcohol before deciding to try the paid alcohol. It spoilt the whole experience.

溫泉設備和山法師房型都和預想中的差不多，地方十分大和寛敝

員工的溝通，出發前半個月已告知酒店我們的過敏史和飲食要求（兩人不吃牛），check in時員工又問了一次，晚飯時待應又再問了一下，但部分員工的英文能力真的很差，基本用字都聽不明白，最後上餐時還是弄錯了，以為是三人不吃牛… 真的挺失望

This is the perfect place for an onsen experience. We stayed in Room Karin for 2 nights. The villa is spacious and well-equipped with a private indoor and outdoor hot spring facility attached in the backyard. The hot spring water did wonders to smoothen the skin and to relax the body. All the staff were super friendly, polite and attentive. Kaiseki-style dinner was served every night in a different private dining room and the food was both creative and delicious. All in all, this is such a unique experience that we hope one day we will visit again, very well done to all the staff!

일본 전통 료칸 너무 좋았어요. 개인료칸이라 좋은데 생각보다는 좀,작아서 아쉽지만 전박적으로 만족합니다 이 숙소는 식사가 정말 훌륭합니다. 석식은 오마카세처럼 훌륭히~아침이 서양식이라 아쉽지만 빵도 맛있고 대만족입니다 다음에 또 오고 싶습니다~~

１、房間十分舒適寬敞，我覺得大概一間大概可以住上五六個人 ２、人員服務親切(有一位略懂中文的服務人員) ３、一共住了兩晚，早/晚的懷食料理餐餐都在水準之上 ４、母親吃素，飯店也很細心的提供對應的食材 ５、離湯之坪老街、金鱗湖滿近的，慢慢走路約末7～10分鐘就可抵達 ６、每個房型都有室內私湯，山法師還有自己的戶外湯超級舒服 7、有專屬停車場，不用擔心停車的問題

Bettei Itsuki truly exceeded my expectations. Room: The accommodation was spacious, impeccably clean, and equipped with comfortable beds. The highlight was undoubtedly the two private onsens. While the indoor bath was excellent, the outdoor onsen—set in a rustic hut—was a delightful surprise, atmospheric and memorable. Cuisine: Both dinner and breakfast were outstanding. Dinner was served kaiseki style, beautifully presented with portions that felt just right. Breakfast was equally thoughtful, with generous servings that left me satisfied. Service: The staff struck the perfect balance of friendliness and attentiveness, offering just the right amount of guidance. As a solo traveler, I appreciated how welcome they made me feel, especially since many onsen ryokans primarily cater to couples or groups. I was so impressed that I found myself enthusiastically recommending Bettei Itsuki to family and friends, even creating a video reel to share—something I rarely do for other stays. This is a place I would gladly return to on any future visit to Yufuin.
