This was our first stay at The Ritz-Carlton Residences, Waikiki Beach, and it will absolutely not be our last. The hospitality here was some of the best I've experienced. When we had a small issue with the dryer, the team apologized with a box of chocolates, a small gesture that said a lot about how much they care about guest experience. The concierge and every staff member was truly so kind and helpful. Having an in-suite washer and dryer was such a great perk, especially for a longer stay. Breakfast was amazing every morning, and the pool service was so attentive and friendly. The location can't be beat. Right on Luxury Row, close to shopping and just steps from the beach. Everything we needed was within walking distance. We're already planning our return. Highly recommend! 🌺

OK, so "Beach" is a bit of hyperbole, since the property is not on the beach at all (nor was I expecting it to be, having read previous reviews!) That said, the hotel lives up to Ritz-Carlton's brand promise of top-notch hospitality. Having been to Waikiki one other time, I knew that it would not be a calm, tropical oasis. Full of tourists, to be sure, Waikiki is also a densely populated, quirky, urban residential neighborhood... definitely run-down in parts but also charming and upbeat in others. Though not at the beach, the property is a close-enough walk to it. More important to us, there are many, many restaurants and shops just a few blocks away. We'd stay here again based on that accessibility alone. The hotel is quite nice and modern. We liked the restaurants, the fitness center, and the adult pool. It's billed as an infinity pool, which I suppose it is. And while you can see the ocean from it, your gaze must first clear the roofs of the building, albeit roofs that cover luxury retail shopping, right next door. Again, when you're here, you're in a city environment. Our room was spacious and comfortable. We had a corner view, featuring both the ocean and the city. We live in NYC so the traffic/sirens didn't bother us... but it does exist. For us, starting our vacation in Waikiki makes sense, given how easy it is to get to after a long flight. Next trip to Hawaii, I imagine we'll be back at the Ritz-Carlton!

The Ritz Carlton is close to something akin to 5th Avenue. There are so many luxury boutiques a few blocks away with many restaurants and eateries. This is not (IMO) a place to unwind and unplug to bask in the glories of nature. It is however a place of respite in a fairly busy area. The lobby is open air (as is the restaurant) and it’s modern, sleek and stylish. It’s more cosmopolitan than resort - just don’t come here expecting a nature preserve. Rooms are large, well appointed and ours had a washer dryer (not sure they all do). I hate this modern trend where there is a window from the bathroom that opens up into the room. The blinds do nothing to block the light if someone uses the bathroom and the other person is sleeping. Plenty of outlets and charge ports to make sure everyone can plug in whatever electronics they bring. Staff is so friendly. Not over the top but kind, gracious and warm. They really embody hospitality here. Food is quite good both at the main restaurant and pool. Our servers were able to give great recommendations for the menu. The pool is large - two spots for hot tub and a separate area for families. I did not venture to the beach. If you’re looking for upscale hotels - this is an amazing choice. There is a Dean and DeLuca downstairs for fast snacks and sandwiches - not fantastic food honestly) and a Starbucks a few long blocks away. I think there are enough cheap eats (a Dennys) and moderately priced food (upscale chains like Cheesecake Factory and PF Chang’s) nearby. Roy’s is a Hawai’ian institution that is close by and there are other restaurants worth visiting at different price points.

朝食が美味しく、レストランの雰囲気もとても良かったです 大人用のプールは静かでのんびりと過ごせ、スタッフの方も感じが良かったです 事前のメールでベッド２台のリクエスト＆私のお誕生日だとお伝えしたところ お部屋にバースデーケーキ＆シャンパンが置いてあり、とても嬉しかったです ベッドも寝心地が良く、また泊まってみたいホテルになりました。

Amazing! What a fantastic stay. Service was impeccable. Every employee is service oriented and smiling. The 2 bedroom deluxe ocean view suite exceeded expectations: size, comfort, amenities! Hotel is well located and walkable to shopping, restaurants and beach. Can’t wait to come again!

Amazing service and facilities for kids! Great attention to detail: The pack and play arrived quickly with comfy sheets and kids bath amenities, water bottles for all of us (not just adults), and they even gave us a diaper genie to dispose of used diapers. Pool was never too crowded and had a great slide for the little ones. The in-room washer dryer and fridge with freezer was so helpful. Oh and our ocean view was fantastic. All and all great stay!

Had a wonderful time. Food was good. Service was good. We had three rooms but one room had bedbugs. For a hotel that charges 7000 a week per room, this should have never happened. I would think twice staying here again.

Stayed here 2 weeks one of the best hotels ever, started with 2 grand ocean view 1 bedroom suites come complete with living room kitchen, bedroom and kitchen including washer & dryer 2 hobs sink with microwave & oven combi, had to move due to unscheduled building work but offered options including a 2 bed room signiture suite worth about 3k a night gobsmacked. Thank you to Mana for all her help and genuinely wanrting to look after us

This is an outstanding hotel with excellent service. We stayed just 2 nights before moving on to another island. Our room was quite large with a washer and dryer which was nice as we were on a long trip. The food at breakfast and dinner was exceptional but the service from the valet to the front desk to the pool and the restaurant was absolutely perfect.

It’s a decent stay but totally overpriced for what it offers. The facilities need a refurbishment to justify this level of pricing - the quality is not representative of what someone would expect from Ritz-Carlton. It was also disappointing to see such a high parking cost for hotel guests.

Went here past November and I felt like I got the true Ritz Carlton experience from arrival to checkout. The staff was tremendous, room was amazing, and the distance to the beach is just a short walk away. With so many stores nearby, the walk didn't feel long at all. Looking forward to returning the next time I find myself in Waikiki.

We had to check into this hotel for 20 days because we were “in between homes” and they made us feel relaxed and welcomed during a difficult transition. They really went out of their way to help us out. The suites are spacious and ours had two full bathes. Our lanai was huge and faced the ocean and the Friday night fireworks. There are two pools one for the family and one for adults only. We used it as much as we could. The location is great too. Very walkable to restaurants and shopping. There was a great little market underneath too that allowed us to get cheap delicious dinners and ingredients to cook in our little kitchen. The hotel even provided us with a rice cooker upon request. We really liked that they had an in-unit washer dryer too. Really helped us during our stay. We enjoyed talking to all of the folks that worked there. Even the pianist at the restaurant chatted us up. He was funny and kind. My only critique is that the restaurants on site and mandatory valet parking is a bit insanely expensive. After 20 days it really got expensive to park 2 cars. Inside the room, we felt they could have offered more options on the TV besides Netflix but then again it is fine for a short stay. The shower was the one thing I kind of didn’t understand. It was one of those wet rooms and the shower grout kind of grossed me out at times but they always came and cleaned as much as we requested. They are also pet friendly so we really really appreciated it. Special thanks to Noe and Tyler. We love you guys and will definitely recommend you to anyone that is looking for a hotel in Waikiki.

Not a lot. It was like an over paid airBnB, not a ritz-carlton.

Extremely loud, noisy location. The dryer was broken. The ground floor is like a wind tunnel, stormy, unpleasant to get out of the car regardless the crew. The handlers in the bathroom has cut my forehead, they are so sharp. The aircon on the corridors is so cold, like being in a freezer. Luckily we could switch it off in our room. Comparing to other Ritz’s this one is a disappointment.

This stay was part of our year-end vacation. There were two families with 8 of us travel together. We had a very good and enjoyable stay at this property. The facility and service are both top notch. Location of this property is walking distance to a variety of shopping centers and restaurants. We took advantage of the grocery credit given to stock up enough for breakfast for the duration of our stay. Special thanks to the front desk manager Sarah Lorenzo. Initially 8 of us were given 5 rooms on 3 different floors. Sarah was able to help us optimize our room counts down to 4 (but with a larger suite) on 2 different floors. In the process, she was able to help us cancel one room and adjust another room (from 1-bedroom to 2-bedroom). This made our stay much more comfortable.

This property is more like a glorified Marriott than a 5 star hotel. First and foremost it is packed with children so if you are looking for a couple's retreat, this isn't it. The AC in our suite didn't work properly and the "stand alone bathtub" only fit someone 5 ft 8 or shorter, it was laughably small and should not be marketed as an amenity. Room service was nothing special, the restaurant was expensive and average. Worst of all is the noise from outside. Locals "cruise" the street in front of the ocean facing units and the "sound proofed" windows are not that at all, we heard the revving of engines and loud music 21 floors above until the wee hours.

I just returned from a three-night stay at the Ritz-Carlton Residences, Waikiki Beach and came away very impressed. I was not quite sure what to expect since this is a residences property rather than a traditional hotel, but in hindsight I actually preferred this format. The extra space, residential feel, and overall comfort made the stay feel more relaxed and elevated. I originally planned to book the entry-level suite but decided to upgrade to a Grand Ocean View Suite based on the photos on the hotel’s website. When I checked in and reached my room, something felt off. After reviewing the website photos again, the suite I was placed in looked identical to what was shown as a standard suite. Thankfully, I returned to the front desk and the team handled it very well. They moved me to a different suite in another tower that matched exactly what I had booked and what was shown online. Interestingly, they mentioned the original room was also categorized as a Grand Ocean View Suite, though it clearly looked different from the website images. My advice to future guests is simple, pay close attention to the room category and compare it carefully with the photos and description to ensure you receive what you expect. Service throughout the stay was outstanding. Every interaction, from valet to concierge to front desk to pool staff, was warm and professional. Housekeeping was especially impressive. I rarely saw them, yet the room was always perfectly maintained, and the thoughtful touches, like leaving an eyeglass cleaning cloth for my reading glasses, really stood out. The pools are somewhat small, but perfectly adequate for a Waikiki property. I rented two side-by-side cabanas and was very pleased with both the service and the value. Immediately after this stay, I flew to Maui and spent five nights at the Grand Wailea, where cabanas were three to four times the price of a single cabana at the Ritz-Carlton Waikiki, making the value here even more noticeable. While Oahu has always been my least favorite Hawaiian island due to the urban feel of Waikiki, the overall experience at this property, especially the value of the cabanas and quality of service, has made me reconsider how I plan future Hawaii trips. I will very likely include the Ritz-Carlton Residences Waikiki again, even if it means fewer nights on another island. Highly recommended.

Great location and pretty clean! Perfect housekeeping, they can remember all the details and surprised us! Really smooth check in and out service. All the staff are great and friendly, super knowledgeable and thoughtful!!!! They upgraded our room to ocean view suite which has the best view to see the ocean!!

Only the shower room’s door is a little bit annoying. It needs more protection or rubber to reduce the noise. Every time we feel like the door gonna be cracked.

One person who made that experience truly exceptional was Sumin Lee, who was our dedicated contact at the time. From handling our reservation to thoughtfully helping prepare every detail of the proposal, Sumin took care of everything with incredible care and professionalism. Thanks to her, the entire experience felt seamless and deeply personal. In January 2026, we returned again — this time with our 26-month-old child — and the experience was just as remarkable. What touched us deeply was discovering that Sumin Lee was still there. Seeing her again after several years felt like reuniting with a familiar and trusted face. Once again, she carefully prepared for our visit and made us feel genuinely welcomed. We are truly grateful for her continued kindness and attention to detail. The hotel’s location is excellent. The beach is just a short walk away, making it very convenient, even while traveling with a toddler. From the very first check-in, the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, immediately putting us in a great mood. The team even remembered that we had stayed in 2022 for our proposal, which made us feel truly valued. This level of personalized service is what truly sets this hotel apart. Housekeeping was outstanding — almost surprisingly so. Our room was cleaned frequently and immaculately, always feeling fresh and comfortable. The care and consistency were deeply appreciated. Traveling with a young child can be challenging, but every staff member we encountered was patient, warm, and thoughtful toward our child, making our stay completely stress-free. Fyi, Baby crib, diaper genie, and high chair available! The Ritz-Carlton, Honolulu has been the backdrop for two very different but equally unforgettable chapters of our lives — first as a couple, and now as a family. It is a place we will always return to, knowing we are in the best hands. We cannot wait to come back again!!

Nice quiet location 2 blocks off the very crowded beach. Room was spotless and spacious and comfortable with beautiful furnishings and a big patio overlooking beach. The pools were quiet and well maintained with attentive staff. It was our anniversary and the staff surprised us with a devious pineapple tray and a lovely swan made of folded towels. They also upgraded our rom which we really appreciated . Every staff was super friendly and helpful.

Luxury from check in through check out! We just finished our stay at the Ritz Carlton Residences Waikiki Beach and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Relaxation set in from the moment we checked in. Service throughout the property was exceptional. Turndown service was particularly excellent thanks to the work of Jennifer and Jeoffrey who spoiled us with personal touches. We have stayed at luxury properties all over the world and this property delivers service at the highest level. Ann at the front desk remembered our names, providing that personal touch. Vince took amazing care of us at the adult pool making us comfortable while we waited for our room to be ready given our morning arrival. David and Robin offered great service as well. Luxury through and through.

My husband and I stayed six days and five nights at The Ritz-Carlton Residences, Waikiki Beach, and overall we had a fantastic experience. We arrived close to 9 PM, and the check-in process was incredibly smooth. Mao assisted us and was warm, professional, and very clear with his explanations. Although I am a Bonvoy Titanium member, upgrades were not available, so we opted to pay an additional $198 per night for a higher-floor ocean-view room. The room itself was excellent—spacious, comfortable, and the bed was amazingly cozy. I especially loved the bathtub; after a day at the beach, soaking in a warm bath was the perfect way to unwind. All of the staff we encountered were friendly and welcoming. We also appreciated the complimentary beach chairs, wagon, and towels from the concierge, which saved us a noticeable amount on rentals. The only disappointment came near the end of our stay. Our return flight was at almost 11 PM, so I requested an additional four hours beyond the guaranteed 4 PM late checkout. Mao advised us to check back 48 hours before departure. Right on schedule, someone called to say they could not extend our checkout because they were “fully booked.” However, when I checked the Marriott website, many rooms were still showing as available. Even when my husband went to the front desk and stated we didn’t mind being downgraded to a basic room for the extra hours, we were given the same explanation, which clearly wasn’t accurate. Despite this, we still truly enjoyed our stay. The hotel itself is beautiful, the amenities are excellent, and Mao was wonderful both at check-in and check-out. We would consider staying here again, though we hope for more transparency regarding late checkout in the future.

The rooms are fairly well appointed with toiletries, cups/utensils, and washer/dryer. We appreciated having those items. There was an unfortunate oversight in room cleaning, but several team members apologized, a cleaning person was sent up to rectify, and management offered a couple of small token gifts in recognition of the problem. All in all, if you don't need to be beachfront, the RC is a good option and I'd recommend the property to those looking for spacious, comfortable rooms and quiet, professional service.

16時チェックインでしたがフライトが朝着で荷物預けのつもりでホテルに向かいましたが、お昼前にお部屋の準備ができたとメールをいただけました。 シャワーもしたかったし、荷物も多く疲弊していたのでとっても素敵なサービスだと初っ端から感激。 日本語を話せる日本人の女性が対応してくださり、笑顔で迎え入れてくれてホッとしました。 お部屋はさすがリッツカールトン！文句ないくらい整っていると思っていましたが、滞在中いくつか気になる点が。 ・シャワーの水圧が悪すぎる ・スリッパがペラペラ ・トイレのガラス扉が思いっきり閉まるので危険(特にお子さんは注意です) サービスはとっても素敵でまた来たいと思える心配りでした。

夫の誕生日が近かったのを私が伝えたのか忘れましたが、ノンアルのシャンパンとマカロンが届きとても嬉しかったです。ありがとうございました。 夕陽がとても綺麗に見え、お部屋のベランダから、プールサイドから、連日サンセットを楽しみました。 それから、お部屋に洗濯機・乾燥機があるのも助かりました。お陰で帰国後の片付けが楽に済みました。
