We loved everything about this property. The staff are genuine. So friendly and helpful. The villa is just so gorgeous - old worldly and quaint but so colourful and bright. The room was huge, as was the bathroom. Shower was great - hot with good pressure. The breakfast was lovely. Everything was so clean. Considering how close it is to everything it is so quiet. Loved it so much we have decided to stop off again on our way home for a few days this time,- already booked. This is where I will always stay now when we are in Bangkok. Would give it more than a ten if I could.

The Villa is a great place to stay if you are dreaming of staying in a vintage house. The entire building is decorated with stained glass, old furniture, and colourful posters and paintings (we loved it!). Everything was great. We had a very nice stay at Villa Mungkala. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and very pretty. The breakfast was delicious. Thank you so much!

Definitely more of a Bed and Breakfast rather than a hotel. The room was small and not clean with cobwebs on the ceiling, some mold in the shower and a stain on my sheets.. the breakfast was not very diverse and there is no a AC in the breakfast area.

L’insonorisation des chambres mais il s'agit d'une vieille maison. La propreté de la salle de bain était un peu peu limite mais le reste était très bien.

I had a wonderful stay at Villa Mungkala! I was especially touched by the warmth and friendliness of the people here. My flight arrived very late at night, and everything was prepared perfectly for me to check in with detailed instructions. I felt very well taken care of. A simple but truly heartwarming place with a lovely atmosphere. I enjoyed my stay very much and can wholeheartedly recommend Villa Mungkala!

Struttura Coloniale centenaria ristrutturata. Molto semplice e bella , nella vecchia città con i suoi vicoletti storici. L’ospitalità, la cordialità e la prontezza nel risolvere qualsiasi problema sono eccellenti. Tho, il proprietario, è di una cordialità e disponibilità uniche (ottimo inglese dovuto ad un background di tutto rispetto😄) e Timmy è fantastica con la sua simpatia ed assistenza unica.

El hotel está muy bien ubicado, cerca de muchos sitios que visitar. El personal es muy amable y te ayudan en muchas cosas. El desayuno te lo cocinan al momento en función de lo que elijas entre las distintas opciones que tienen.

Ninguno de los días que estuvimos alojados nos limpiaron la habitación a pesar de indicarlo con el cartel en la puerta de la habitación.

Sie liegt sehr gut gelegen in Bangkok in dem authentischen, noch nicht gentrifizierten Viertel. Unser Zimmer war sauber, schön eingerichtet und war mit Mückennetz ausgestattet.

Villa Mungkala has a wonderfully unique and quaint atmosphere that feels very different from a typical hotel. I loved the location, tucked away on a small, quiet street beside the canal, while still being within easy reach of many of Bangkok’s sights. The villa has lots of character and charm, and the staff genuinely go above and beyond to make guests feel welcome and comfortable.

Very little. Because the villa is located down a narrow street, cars cannot come directly to the entrance, so you may need to walk a short distance with your luggage. For me, though, this was a small trade-off for staying somewhere with so much character and such a peaceful local atmosphere.

This is the loveliest place I’ve stayed in Bangkok. Despite Bangkok being such a big and noisy city, my stay there was peaceful and cozy. The villa is beautiful and aesthetically interesting, both inside and out. I was also very happy to have a bathtub in the room, which is quite a rare find. I could go on and on about the kindness and hospitality of the hosts. Delicious breakfasts, wonderful treatment, and a great location. I highly recommend this place to everyone.

Loved this place. The location is amazing. It’s down a small and quaint ‘alley’ (you can just about fit a car down it) and it’s dead quiet despite being just a 2min stroll out onto the bigger streets. The room itself was really cosy and the lobby/breakfast area is lovely. The staff were awesome and extremely helpful. I booked tickets for Muay Thai at Rajadamnern and then the host told me she could have got me a discount so if you stay here check with the staff before booking. I got the sense that it’s a family hotel and everyone is lovely. The really highlight was that I made a friend while in Bangkok and we decided to go out for the day and then for dinner in the evening. She lived over in a different area but the hotel let her leave her bag in my room and even use my shower between our day and evening activities to save her going home - really nice. If I ever go back to Bangkok I’ll stay here again. Wall mounted TV in the rooms also a nice touch!!

We landed in Thailand in the early hours of the 29th. The immigration queue at the airport lasted more than two hours, so we didn’t check in until around 4 or 5 a.m. I feel really sorry for keeping the host waiting for so long. We were exhausted and unsure if we’d arrived at the right place when we got here late at night. To our surprise, the host came down to meet us — such a thoughtful gesture. On the day we checked out, I booked a motorbike taxi. Travelling with my 10-year-old son, I struggled to carry both luggage and backpacks. The staff noticed our trouble and kindly helped us out. They spent about five minutes searching for rope and carefully secured our suitcase onto the front of the motorbike. This freed up our hands so my son and I could sit comfortably at the back. I was originally going to hold the suitcase while riding, which would have been very awkward. Breakfast was fantastic. We truly appreciate all the warm service. We will definitely stay here again on our next trip to Thailand!

It’s an absolute hidden gem. The little street the villa is on is very quaint, the villa I stayed has beautiful Thai features. It has a lovely little bar. The breakfast was a perfect, fresh coffee and cooked to order English breakfast, served by the Lovely Tammy and Eve. I have found my new place to stay when I’m in Bangkok.

The place has a good location. It's a short way to Tempels, markets, restaurants and the area itself is quiet. Our room had everything we needed for such a stay...comfy beds, bathroom, wardrobe and even a tiny garden. The breakfast was included also and it was tasty. The owner of the hotel is super nice and helpful and answered all our questions. Thank you for a great stay.!

Cosy, beautiful place in a quiet location, the staff is doing everything to make sure you are feeling yourself at home. Easy to walk everywhere, a lot of cafes and shops nearby. You can have bananas and small muffins for free as a snack which is a nice touch.

Not about the property itself, but quite a bunch of mosquitoes in the room…

It was cute and cosy, the staff were very helpful, great location to explore old Bangkok. We saw temples by day and Chinatown and Khao San Rd by night- all very close by. Also liked the communal area downstairs.

Great hotel in an excellent location for exploring Bangkok. It is located in a quiet side street, yet just a short walk from a lively area with plenty of restaurants for every budget. The staff were very welcoming, and the rooms were comfortable with excellent air conditioning. We enjoyed our stay so much that we have already booked another night for our return in two weeks. Highly recommended!

A simple breakfast of my choice was provided and enjoyed. The staff were very helpful and pleasant always. The property is 120 years old and you can see the comfortable history everywhere. The property is located in an old part of the city by a canal where amenities and character abound.

We were on the top floor so the stairs could be a bit of an ordeal if you have an injury. Thats all.

We were put in a lovely room just slightly down the alley from the main building and it was gorgeous and very big! The family that run the hotel are so friendly and helpful and really go out of their way to make you feel at home!

We arrived quite exhausted, and we were so incredibly appreciative when they went out of their way to serve us something to eat right away. That level of care and thoughtfulness is rare and instantly made us feel at home. ​Our room was absolutely massive, giving us plenty of space to unpack and relax, yet it maintained a warm, inviting, and comfortable atmosphere that made it hard to leave.

Everything was amazing. I loved the location (there are no cars around so it is very calm) and it felt like something straight out of a Ghibli movie with all the cats around the property. Also the house is beautiful and whimsical. The staff is super sweet aswell

The property staff here are so helpful and accommodating, they really went the extra mile to make us feel looked after. The room was fine - appreciated the aircon, fridge and mosquito net! Great location, easy to find your way around and the breakfast was absolutely lovely. They even let us store our luggage, have a shower and ordered us a taxi which was much cheaper than when we caught the public taxi in from the airport. Thank you, we’ll be back!
