Great location close to everything you need but tucked away on a residential street! Such a warm welcome from Alessandra and great communication prior and throughout! Coffee available, beautiful pool and secure access!

Sehr nette und unkomplizierte Gastgeber. Schönes Grundstück, nette Bungalows, toller Pool. Man ist für sich, kann aber auch gut und leicht mit anderen auf dem Grundstück kommunizieren. Ich konnte alles mit Karte - oder auch bar - bezahlen.

Im Grunde nichts. Es stimmt, man muss von der Straße ein ganzes Stück einen Fahrweg langgehen. Dafür ist man aus dem "Las-Terrenas-Trubel" heraus. Der Fahrweg ist für meinen Begriffe ausreichend beleuchtet - und bewacht. Man(n und Frau) können sich absolut sicher fühlen.

I don’t think I have ever stayed somewhere with a more accommodating host. They are a lovely Italian couple, who speak fluent English. She went out of her way on multiple occasions to contact local taxis for us so we didn’t have to struggle with the language barrier. The property was large, secure and very clean. You get a large container of drinking water included as well, which for a country with undermanned tap water seems to be a very rare occurrence even in hotels! There was also an espresso machine near to the pool. Overall, it is some of the best service I have ever received and would definitely recommend to anyone.

The property is very near to the main town of Las Terrenas, however, it is down a long unlit road so isn’t that suitable for walking especially at night. Personally, I love dogs but I think I should note that seven dogs live at this property in case you aren’t that keen on dogs. I must mention that I never saw or heard a dog once though and the host says they’re super friendly. On a final note, and this is not linked to my rating of the property but Las Terrenas as a place felt very unsafe as two young women. We faced a significant amount of sexual harassment during our 24 hour stay. Considering we had just come from a stay in Santo Domingo, we thought we were escaping but it was actually far worse. So I don’t think I would recommend to groups of women on their own.

Very nice and friendly host, the place is wonderful, wifi working perfect, it’s an area with security guard down the street, so it felt very safe. The bungalow was very clean, outdoor pool is wonderful and the area around is beautifully designed, likeca small botanic garden.

Beautiful hotel, pretty close to the beach. Nice pool and garden and hospitable hosts. Highly recommended!

Lo silencioso del lugar y la comodidad de la habitación.

Es lo justo y necesario para hacer base en las terrenas. La anfitriona muy amable. Cocina muy equipada.

Por decir algo hay que tener en cuenta que es un entorno natural y hay que convivir con muchos mosquitos y muchas hormigas. No puedes dejar comida en la mesada por ejemplo. No se si esté al alcance de los anfitriones poder hacer algo.

Me encantó todo , súper limpio ,acogedor una paz increíble , los anfitriones excepcionales muy dispuestos y serviciales , la picina bellísima ,.me encantó mi lugar favorito en terrenas. La habitación súper limpia, con todo lo necesario para una estadía placentera .

The cabins are really spacious, well equipped and with a lovely shower. The grounds and pool are excellent. There's also daily maid service. Casa Barbara is within walking distance of the beaches and all the restaurants but amazingly it is really quiet.

Es un residencial con entrada controlada, muy seguro. Una pareja muy amable, cercana y atentos. Por la lluvia, apareció una cucaracha y enseguida vinieron a ayudarnos. Habitación amplia, cocina con utensilios y una terraza perfecta para desayunar. Café y agua gratuitos

La cocina necesita renovar un poco y hacer una limpieza más exhaustiva para que no se acumule tanto polvo.

La maison, le jardin, l'emplacement au calme au bout de l'allée, le vrai cage à volonté, les bonbonnes d'eau, et l'accueil d'Alessandra et son mari ! Tout était top !

Las habitaciones están muy bien cuidadas y mantenidas, hay un cuidado por los detalles, los colores, la limpieza y el orden, lo que sin duda asegura un buen descanso. Tienen prácticamente todo lo necesario para una buena estancia, una cama cómoda, ducha caliente, utensilios para mantener alimentos y cocinar, toallas y sábanas limpias. Realizan el aseo a la habitación diariamente. Hay café/te disponible junto a la piscina y un ambiente silencioso, aunque está cercano a playas y demás comercio. La piscina y jacuzzi son frescos, ambos fríos y en el sector hay mucho mosquito/zancudos aunque de todos modos lo disfrutamos. También pudimos hacer uso de la parrilla y mesa exterior, aunque esta última no estaba en tan buen estado de limpieza y conservación.

Hay algunos detalles que no sé si son completamente atribuibles al cuidado del lugar, pero a ratos surge un olor indeseable, como a basura o podrido, que se puede sentir en los espacios comunes como piscina y patio. En la casa hay perritos y gatos, lo cual no es molesto para nada, pero sí hay poco cuidado con sus desechos en el patio y eso me parece puede ser gran causante de los malos olores. En las Terrenas entiendo que hay un problema con el agua, en el alojamiento, en particular, ésta salía muy amarilla, de todos los grifos, con un fuerte olor a metal. Fui con mis padres y arrendamos en cabañas separadas, ellos disponían de un bidón de agua potable lleno, pero en mi habitación estaba vacío. Ciertamente no solicité que fuese llenado, pude sacar del que tenían mis padres, pero sería ideal que estuviese disponible en cada habitación. De cualquier modo, volvería a alojarme aquí.

Franchement j'ai tout aimé dans cet établissement. De l'accueil avec la gentillesse des propriétaires ainsi que la flexibilité pour l'arrivée top . L'endroit est juste magnifique avec une belle piscine. Les bungalows sont bien équipés, l'établissement est un peu éloigné de la route principale donc très calme . Tout est accessible à 20 minutes à pied . Un grand merci pour ce séjour. Ps: les chiens sont trop mignons.

Casa Barbara was by far our favorite spot during our trip to DR. If you've ever traveled in DR before & experienced what lodgings here are like (even those at the high end of the price scale), you'll no doubt appreciate the following: *Piping hot shower that worked every time, always with good pressure. *Everything in the room is perfectly maintained & there's a clear attention to detail that we never saw anywhere else. Not a single thing in the room was broken or missing :) *The property was set back from the main road so there's zero noise of motorbikes (it is truly SILENT at night) *This was literally the only place we stayed in the DR where we were never once disturbed by barking dogs at night (there are 6 very sweet dogs on the property, but they sleep indoors). Likewise, never once heard a rooster. *The bed actually had a blanket (!!) & 4 very comfortable pillows *Owned by an incredibly sweet Italian couple - Alessandra speaks perfect English, making it easy for non Spanish speakers. And she was super responsive & always easy to reach in Whatsapp. All in all a fantastic stay - I rarely say this, but there was literally not a single thing I'd change about this place. 10/10 for the property, service, owners, everything. Thanks again for having us!

La proximité du centre-ville, le bungalow individuel avec ses équipements vraiment complets, le calme, la propreté, la chromo thérapie dans la douche, le jardin magnifique, l’entrée-sortie dans la rue séparée de celle des propriétaires, la discrétion des propriétaires italiens très sympathiques.

Les 5 chiens des propriétaires mais ils ne dérangeaient pas trop, la peinture noire de la piscine qui restait un peu marqué sous les pieds.

Alessandra made our stay super pleasant from the beginning. The place is gorgeous, spacious and you’ll feel right at home. We also appreciated the safe parking inside the property. Definitely great place to stay!

Pasamos 5 noches en Casa Barbara y la estancia fue muy tranquila y agradable. La habitación es muy cómoda y cuenta con todo lo necesario (utensilios de cocina, secador de pelo). Además, los anfitriones se portaron muy bien con nosotros; siempre atentos y pendientes de todo lo que necesitábamos.

Everything was super nice, the place was comfy, super clean, the owners were cool and helpful. I'm definitely turning this place into my permanent stay when going to Las Terrenas.

The location is very good, it is close to the beach, the only thing is that it is located at the end of a residential complex, if you're walking it can be a bit uncomfortable, otherwise the stay was just perfect, I loved it.

Increíble lugar. Alojarse aquí es maravilloso, tanto que decidimos ampliar las noches de la estancia. Alessandra y su marido son adorables, nos ayudaron en todo lo que necesitábamos y siempre están muy pendientes. Las zonas comunes son preciosas, es como un oasis dentro de Las Terrenas y las casitas donde dormimos tienen todo lo necesario, incluso más, para estar de manera muy cómoda. No le falta detalle. Sin duda, el mejor alojamiento de los 17 días que llevamos en la isla.

We hadden een heel fijn verblijf in 1 van de 3 en ruim 1-kamerhuisjes, met mooi hoog balkenplafond, keukentje, een mooie badkamer, groot goed bed en een terras met goede tafel en stoelen. Deze bevinden zich in een prachtige tropische tuin, allen met genoeg privacy. De Italiaanse eigenaren waren in de achtergrond aanwezig, dus fijn, en waren wel altijd beschikbaar om dingen direct op te lossen. Er was een mooi ruim zwembad waar omheen meerdere gezellig zithoeken en een BBQ. Er is een kast vol boeken, thee en koffie. Waterdispenser in het huisje en prima keukenhoek. Zelfs een prims gasoven en een magnetron. Omdat er grote supermarkt in de buurt was,, konden we makkelijk wat eten inslaan en zelf ontbijt maken. Leuk om mango's uit eigen tuin te plukken! De lokatie is in het centrum van Las Terrenas, in een rustige veilig villa wijkje (met security) en minder dan 10 min lopen naar het strand en restaurantjes. We bevelen Casa Barbara van harte aan!

Er lagen soms hondendrollen in de tuin; deze werden weliswaar dagelijks opgeruimd, maar we hadden liever geen enkele drol gezien. Een waterkoker zou handig zijn.

We’ve been coming to Las Terrenas for 20 years and have experienced quite a few accommodations. This year was our first stay at "Casa Barbara". The property is away from the noise and, with only three bungalows, it's peaceful and clearly arranged. Drinking water is automatically refilled by the host and not charged. Electricity, internet, and hot water are stable. Even though the beach is only a 5-minute walk away, the pool is a great alternative on cloudy days. There are plenty of shaded lounging and seating areas, and coffee and cold water are also available by the pool. The cleaning lady does an excellent job. The kitchen is very well equipped by Dominican hotel standards—we didn’t miss a thing during our two-week stay. After this experience, Casa Barbara will be the only place we stay.

The place is peaceful and the room is wonderful with TV, Fan and AC. It also has hot water with a great multi directional shower heads!

Everything was good. Location great. You may have to jump a few puddles walking along the short path to the main road.

We loved our stay and especially the doggitos that greeted us. This place has a great location and really good ammenities! The only thing that I wish was a bit different was the metallic smell in the bathroom which i assume came from the water pipes. Else this was superb!

The pool was amazing and the little houses in the back were great! I would definitely stay here again in the future. I almost didn’t click on this spot because if the first photo, but glad I did! My only suggestion would be the pillows weren’t big enough for me, but definitely probably the best place I have stayed at in my time in The DR.

It was very clean and the cleaning service even came during the day! Also it’s walkable to the beach and center with all the restaurants!

The hosts were really friendly and helpful. The house is really beautiful with amazing swimming pool and has several comfort. It is also close to the center and the beach. I really recommend this accommodation.

Loved this place. Little bungalow, with own entrance, equipped to European standards, with air con, cooking facilities, hot water etc. Private and quiet. Short(ish) walk to beach, restaurants and shops. Unusual pool set in lovely garden.

Rinsed a couple of clothes items in sink which left rusty colour residue on them :-(

The place is absolutely beautiful! The garden is like a jungle and the pool is super nice. I loved waking up early and going for a swim and watching the birds in the garden. The owners are very nice and helpful, and their dogs are so cute. They have delicious coffee they offer for free and really thought of everything, even netflix on the TV in the bungalow. We loved it, highly recommend!

I loved my stay here- Alessandra is a very thoughtful host, and the little Casita had everything I might need. It was a very nice area, with security, which is important to me, as a solo traveller. I could walk to a choice of supermarkets, and the town is bustling

Amazing location, just off the centre and away from the noise but very walkable (5-10 mins) to the main part. Amazing host who made my stay very comfortable as well and helped me when I left something behind at the properly. Absolutely perfect for a stay in Las Terranas

Casa Barbara quiet, clean and the host were super friendly. We loved having coffee by the pool and hanging out with her friendly sweet pups. The size of the beach cottage was perfect for the two of us. The ac worked great for sleeping at night if you like a colder temp. I was also impressed with the hand poured concrete kitchen counter top and woodwork for bed and shelves. All functionality was well thought out.

The bed for us could have been a little better we could feel the springs in it when we laid down. There was a topper on the bed but it was not thick enough for it to make a difference. Also, the wifi in the cabin we were in was weak if you need to use it go to the pool by the main house. Other than the bed everything else is awesome.

Great, this place is worth every dollar you paid for it.

Casa Barbara is close to the town and to the beach. It is a short walk off the main road in a quiet location and feels very safe. The grounds are beautifully landscaped and the pool is beautiful! The hosts are very friendly and easy going.

- Alexandrra is amazing host, helped us with a lot of local information and was always responding our questions very fast - drinkable water in the apartment - various kinds of electricity sockets, including usb to charge your devices without adapters - regular cleaning, nicely smelling towels everyday - the place was as shown on pictures

- some ants in the apartment. Giving maximum score anyway as overall the place is very well thought and prepared for guests to be comfortable and have everything needed.

Everything was perfect at Casa Barbara. The host couple is so nice, welcoming and gave us with many recommendations. The pool, jacuzzi and garden are amazing. The bungalow is very well equipped. We loved our stay and would come back !!

Everything was just perfect, relaxed atmosphere , well equipped studio bungalow with brand new facilities ( shower is top!) Is a perfect place to enjoy either as a solo traveller or in a group. away from the high street but close enough to walk to the pueblo .

Having stayed in a few apartments in Las Terrenas, this is definitely my favourite. The pool is huge and absolutely beautiful. It’s kitted out with lights and speakers also. There are also huge day beds for relaxing and a large table. The host provides coffee, tea and cold water alongside many books and games. The host is very friendly and kind. The shower is very good, the beds are comfy, there’s a nice outside porch to each bungalow and a small kitchen area. The host provides really everything you could want or need. I would love to stay here again, I’m sad that I am leaving the DR and won’t be able to!

It’s a little far from the main road, and when raining the road to the apartment can flood. Beware the host has a few dogs but they’re very friendly.

What I highly appreciated was the welcoming of the hosts. The accommodation was built and decorated in a certain manner that makes you feel at home.

The host is very welcoming and helpful, she's was easy to communicate with. The place is very pretty, with the beautiful gardens and the nice pool. The room itself was very comfortable, clean, safe. A/C fonctions well, shower is warm (and calming with the light system!). We highly recommend this place!

At night, make sure you have a light in hand (like the flash light of your cellphone) if you walk, because some parts of the streets between the main street and the house can be very dark.

the pool, the daybeds, the garden with all the plants, the bungalow was amazing. the shower, just amazed. Barbara and her husband are very kind people, would definitely recommend to stay with them!
